CP last month, hopes too high this month

Hi all,
Feel I'm just setting myself up for failure here...had a BFP quite unexpectedly last cycle (only dtd once and took ages for first bfp and bfp for my daughter I always thought was assisted by hsg). Unfortunately was a CP - accepted this pretty early on and glad it ended early if something was wrong.
My issue is this month I am convinced I'm going to get pregnant. The rumours of increased fertility after a CP and about 1000X the usual amount of ewcm, coupled with dtd 2 days before and suspected day of ovulation has me convinced.
I'm normally a realist and expected I was in ttc number 2 for the long haul (first bfp took almost a year then mmc, 2 d&c, investigations into scarring, also I'm 37) but can't shake this feeling. Someone please talk me down or at least tell me you've been there!? I know I'm going to feel extra crap when (if) AF arrives.

Oh wow @Jeds55 how exciting. I tested bfn this morning at 13dpo so think I'm out. AF was due today and I had a tiny bit of brown spotting earlier so AF will probably arrive tomorrow. I'm so happy you got a better result.

My frer looks about the same today with fmu but have v faint line on IC that didbt have yesterday so not sure what to think

Thos is the frer now. I think today now seems slightly darker but not getting Hope's up. The big test will be tomorrow. Have booked docs for couple weeks time in case it goes wrong so can report 2 in a row

How's everyone else doing today?

@Jeds55 try not to worry (I know that's easier said than done - and when my time finally comes you'll have to be telling it to me)
2 diff gps told me the line darkness has no bearing on how it is going (think they do the weeks indicator one but having different strips that detect different levels and detect approx what should be for those stages if that makes sense)

If you are worried call your dr and ask for the blood test to check your levels are going up as that is the best way and will stop the worry

My AF appeared today - I did a test to double check as last month I had a 5day normal AF and then got my BFP that I miscarried a few days later.

No magic for me I'm afraid.

@Abi58 thank you, I remember you saying your doctor said that but I can't help but believe that line darkness does correlate to amount of hcg, and therefore viability of pregnancy (can still go wrong after that point though unfortunately). Is still early days for me (I think AF due Weds or Thurs) so have bit of hope for line progression tomorrow.

@Jeds55 try not to worry and if you are try and get the blood test done so you know for definite 🤞🏻although I'm sure you'll be fine 😁

I'm not sure really what to do next except keep trying. I have some opk left from last cycle when I had the Miscarriage which I did so I had some idea where my cycle was at, I guess I might use those until they run out. Unfortunately the longer cycle because of the miscarriage has buggered up all of ovia's predictions.

For me it's a fine line between having enough info and getting so totally overwhelmed with monitoring myself.

Realistically I feel like I have probably missed the boat now. We should have started trying 2 years ago but my mom got ill with dementia and I was managing her life (while having a full time job and my daughter) then mom died last year and then I changed jobs and was dealing with all the legal stuff for the last year. My daughter is nearly 5 now, I'm nearly 37 my partner is 53. I'm so scared his older kids will start reproducing and then we would have to stop trying.

@pinkoi it sounds like you've had a really stressful time the last few years. You're a superwoman to have juggled it all I feel the same about feeling overwhelmed with all the ttc stuff. Feel like so much emphasis is put on not conceiving and how easy it is to get pregnant and not enough on the actual facts of decline in fertility as we age and how short the fertile period is each month etc. When I started ttc I thought it would be so easy and was so clueless.

Not looking too good here, bottom one this morning with fmu. Feel so much crapper about it than last months. WFH today so just had cry when got back from dropping daughter to nursery. Want to know one way or the other, this limbo is shit.

@Abi58 if the tests don't lighten or darken I will go docs and ask to get blood tests done, although I think today is bit lighter so maybe tomorrow will show more change.

@Jeds55 they look OK to me. My chemicals they never really got that strong.

AF just arrived for me 😭

@pinkoi I'd try not to worry about it too much, so rubbish but there is only a 25% chance each cycle even if everything is time right!

I've read about eating pineapple and Brazil nuts to help implantation so if I don't get luck this cycle I'll probably give that a go - can't hurt!

Id say use the opks - They can help you even if the apps prediction is out. I'm using that too and as soon as I put positive opk it amended the prediction.

I'd only stop if that's what you want, I wouldn't say you have missed the boat at all, you caught last month and if it is what you want I'd say go for it!

@Jeds55 the bottom one definitely looks fatter to me! (Darkness can be hard to compare unless obvious as when. Dry it looks darker) it sounds like you are worried and you need to look after yourself as well as enjoy the moment. If I was you I'd call drs ASAP and get the blood test done you'll have to wait a few days for the results so the sooner you put it in motion the sooner you'll be able to relax and enjoy! I know it's what I'm going to do as I'll be worrying and wanting to test everyday and will worry.

@Jeds55 I would go to the gp or the woman's out patients if your hospital has one they can do the blood tests so you can put your mind at rest. I think they look ok but I know if I was in your shoes I would be worried to.

Thanks @Ladybug82 and @Abi58. I'm feeling a bit relived to finally know one way or the other but also really sad as I have just found out my FSH levels are quite high (18.1) at cd3 and so I'm probably not going to conceive.

@Whyhaveidonethis sorry to hear AF has arrived and that your test results were not what you were hoping for. I'm clueless on FSH levels, I hope there is some treatment to try?

@Jeds55 I don't know. Got an appointment with GP on 15th July so will ask but I think it's age related. Holding onto the hope that my CP proves I can conceive.

@Abi58 follicle stimulating hormone. It basically means I have depleted egg supply and my body is working super hard to ovulate.

@Whyhaveidonethis sorry to hear that, I don't really know anything about it to help or comfort but I would say that it's positive that you caught before so try to stay positive. 🤞🏻 and good luck at your appointment!
