Does anyone want to join?

I have been TTC #1 for 15 months and had a MC at 8 weeks in February.
I am off to the GP tomorrow to try and get a referral to a reproductive endocrinologist.
Tried every trick and tip and old wives tale in the book to get a bfp!
It would be good to have a group of longer term ttcers to chat to.

@KatBeCool thank you. What's HSG?

Newbie21 · 09/05/2019 19:15

@muddypuddlejumping I spoke to both my GP (well the nurse) and told them about all my MCs at the same time I contacted a gynecologist who did my D&C for my first miscarriage. I also saw him after the 3rd MC and me and my husband had a meeting with him to discuss options. At that time I was obviously ovulating etc and he thought it was an egg issue ( I never used to spot either). When we asked about IVF, he was very much of the view no not yet, although it's hard and a long process he felt we needed to give it a bit longer and he also made clear that IVF doesn't solve all issues so it was important to work out the issues and take it from there. I found it refreshing that he didn't immediately push IVF which you sometimes hear that private doctors do.

There is no harm in having some tests to see that different things are as they should be - thyroid, ovaries, ovulation, lining, progesterone etc.

muddypuddlejumping · 09/05/2019 20:15

@Newbie21 @KatBeCool well I rang and they said to just book an on the day appointment so I may try for tomorrow and see what happens 😬
Thanks for your help.

bunhead34 · 10/05/2019 09:01

Fairly sure AF Is upon me - I get a good 4 days of brown discharge before
She shows her face 🙄 anybody else get this?
Dr doesn't seem to think it's a problem
But I'm not so sure!

Oh well, next cycle marks 1yr of TTC 😕

How is everyone else?

MrsAW2018 · 10/05/2019 13:40

Hi ladies, thought i would join here, if that's okay? The other thread gets on top of me sometimes as there seems to be a new BFP every couple of days or so.

Been TTC for a year next month and feel very shitty about it all. Currently on CD19 and no sign of a positive OPK. I won't be able to be referred to a fertility clinic until September (as the GP thinks we started trying in September 2018 for medical reasons although I couldn't bear to wait any longer so we started in June). And before I can get referred I need to lose 4.5 stone. Thanks to medication and heart condition which means it's difficult for me to exercise, I've piled on the weight these past few years. I'm making positive steps to lose the weight (joined the gym and watching what I eat) So I'm a little bit broken by it all and have spent my morning researching private fertility clinics.

anyway, I'm sorry for the essay - just thought I'd give some background and I look forward to talking to you all xx

SeahorseWilderness · 10/05/2019 13:57

Can I join also please? This is cycle 11 for me. I've had all the blood tests which were normal and DH has a good sperm count. Going to have the hycosy done privately next month if this cycle fails. I get terrible cramps and periods. And 8-9 days of bleeding. When I was younger I got no pain and periods of 3 days. I am hoping the hycosy will show any issues in my tubes/uterus causing the pain/long bleeding. So desperately want a baby and around me so many friends are pregnant. So happy for them as it wasn't easy for a few of them but I so long for it now. Very frustrating x

bunhead34 · 10/05/2019 14:08

Hi @MrsAW2018 welcome, the busses are tough aren't they. Everyone Seems to be on cycle 1!

I also started ttc 1yr ago in June. And finding that tough too.

That's great you are making steps towards losing weight tho, Has the gp sent you for any tests yet? (I think bloods and scan can normally be done before fertility clinic referral ?)

KatBeCool · 10/05/2019 14:23

@MrsAW2018 welcome. I agree about other threads, someone constantly posts a bfp that they got on their first cycle, and some continue posting it over and over. I can't even find it in me to say congratulations anymore.

@SeahorseWilderness welcome. 9 days of bleeding sounds awful.

muddypuddlejumping · 10/05/2019 14:56

Sorry to hear that @bunhead34
It must be even worse having 4 days of your hope shot (even if the GP says it isn't) before you even get back to CD1 😔

Newbie21 · 10/05/2019 15:07

@bunhead34 snap - i get about 4 days of brown discharge before AF. I never used to it it's been like this ever since my MC in Nov. it could be a progesterone issue - that seems to me my issue. I have a follow up appointment on Tuesday to discuss next steps. Can I ask, do you know how long your luteal phase is? And is your cycle regular (albeit with spotting)?

Newbie21 · 10/05/2019 15:09

@muddypuddlejumping did you manage to get an appointment?

bunhead34 · 10/05/2019 16:19

@Newbie21 I had blood tests and progesterone was fine 🤷🏼‍♀️ I was kind of hoping it would be low as that might have been an easy fix.
Yes I am pretty regular, luteal phase is about 8days if I stop counting when the dreaded brown shows up. It used to be even worse, but I started taking B6 which cut down the days of brown discharge a bit.

Newbie21 · 10/05/2019 17:30

@bunhead34 my gynecologist did say to me that brown discharge by itself is not a cause for concern and might just be my "normal" - not that this is too comforting when each cycle passes. It would be worth you having more tests to check lining and ovaries etc. if you don't get much luck on the fertility test front then stress that you are concerned for gynecology reasons and you might have more luck. I can't recall whether you are at the stage where GP on nhs is able to refer?

PineappleC · 10/05/2019 18:47

@bunhead and @newbie I used to get brown spotting for a few days before AF too. I've been working on extending my luteal phase and taking max strength B vits, vit c, d, coq10 and raspberry leaf tea, and the spotting has now pretty much disappeared. (It sounds like a lot but I just take all the vits in one gulp, and tea a couple of times a day.) Luteal phase only a day or so longer but it's definitely helped the spotting, in case that helps you too 😊

I start getting mild cramps about 5 days before AF though so always feel like I'm out early on 🤷‍♀️

@mrsAw and @seahorse welcome!! I really hope this group helps you as its been helping me 🤗

Cd6 for me, AF over so back to business. Working really hard on limiting my stress at the moment, and going well so far 👍

muddypuddlejumping · 10/05/2019 20:29

@Newbie21 I didn't book one was DC is poorly. Maybe I'll see how this cycle goes 🤷‍♀️ think I'm a bit afraid of discussing it aloud and especially with a GP, like beginning to admit that there might actually be a problem.

GreyC · 10/05/2019 20:49

Can I join? Currently waiting for a internal baseline scan and more bloods done at the fertility clinic after low progesterone. Been trying over a year now and no Bfp.
Finding it really really hard at the minute. Everyone is getting pregnant after the first- second month and if I’m honest - I’m envious.
Trying to not symptom spot either - I’m 6 days after ovulation with positive opk and have been cramping since day 4 post ovulation - no idea why. Probably af gearing up already.

Mrs71 · 10/05/2019 20:55

Hi Ladies. Do you mind if I join?

Long time lurker but every single thread I join everyone seems to be getting bfp’s! I’m in the same boat as you all. Went to the GP last week and had my Day 5 blood test Thursday. DH has been referred for sperm analysis and got appointment on Tuesday so pretty quick! Also feeling very down at the minute and finding it so difficult. x

Newbie21 · 10/05/2019 21:43

@Mrs71 and @GreyC welcome to the group. We all hear you. This journey is bloody tough and it's so hard when people seem to fall pregnant at the drop of a hat but fingers crossed we'll all get there.

@muddypuddlejumping I know what you mean. I just want to stop thinking about it alll sometimes, not check ovulation or think about tests and symptoms and then one day think hey I should have AF by now and then realise I'm pregnant but I know that isn't going to be the case but I do want to work on relaxing a bit more. I might try acupuncture. Has anyone tried it?

MuddyElephant · 10/05/2019 23:03

Welcome @Mrs71 @GreyC q@mrsAw and @seahorse. Sorry you're in this crappy position too but the group is a great help

MuddyElephant · 10/05/2019 23:11

@Bunhead34 my FP showed up today too, two days early to add insult to injury! Means I'm out for the next cycle as will be away for my entire fertile window - was hoping to just catch the end. Trying to see the positive in that it will give me a break from thinking about it all but it just seems like the possibility is getting further and further away Sad

KatBeCool · 10/05/2019 23:45

Welcome new ladies!

BFN this morning, followed by renewed spotting, now cramping, guessing AF will be here tomorrow.

Extra supplements this month for me, at this point I'll try anything and everything.

To make the matters worse, we're celebrating MIL birthday tomorrow, and SIL will bring her newborn and, knowing how evil she is, she'll be rubbing it in the entire time. She got pregnant without even trying.

cupcakesandglitter · 11/05/2019 14:17

Ah that's crap @KatBeCool sorry 😩 you going to throw everything at it this cycle?

muddypuddlejumping · 11/05/2019 14:18

Solid smiley for me today for got my 🤞🏼 as we've done everything right this month including no alcohol, exercise and a better diet. I can't actually imagine getting that BFP again now after so many blank white sticks.
@KatBeCool hope today is okay for you.

KatBeCool · 11/05/2019 16:39

@cupcakesandglitter everything except Clomid. How are you doing?

ProseccoBee · 11/05/2019 21:17

Hi girls, i'd like to join you all aswell. I Recognise a few names off the original ttc thread which was this time last year or there about. I've been ttc for a year now and I did get my BFP last October but miscarried at 13 weeks. I Have been trying ever since then but had no luck at all, starting to get really fed up with it all. Also having the same feeling as you're all having in that it seems everyone around me is getting pregnant! arghh this whole process is really shit, and hoping we can all get through it together x
