Does anyone want to join?

I have been TTC #1 for 15 months and had a MC at 8 weeks in February.
I am off to the GP tomorrow to try and get a referral to a reproductive endocrinologist.
Tried every trick and tip and old wives tale in the book to get a bfp!
It would be good to have a group of longer term ttcers to chat to.

@KatBeCool fingers crossed it all works, I really hope you get your BFP soon, I'm sure you will ❤️ I'm okay thanks, just waiting to hit my fertile days really!

@ProseccoBee sorry to hear about your mc 😩 sorry you're on here too. We'll all get through it together, definitely xxx

Hi ladies, I'm back!! That was a very short two weeks 😂🙈 shh don't tell my DH! I'm meant to be being chilled this cycle but decided to try the Soy Isoflavones one more time and I missed everyone here! I am not temping at the moment though which feels quite liberating!
My DH keeps bringing crap food into the house and my will power is at zero 🙄, so from now going to try my hardest to ignore it and focus on getting fitter.
I had a slight revelation - that instead of focusing on what a failure I am for not getting pregnant I am going to focus on how bloody amazing I am at trying to get pregnant! 😂 I have put a lot of time and energy into ttc and I now consider myself a semi-pro at ttc. I consider you all awesome semi-pro's too! 😂

@KatBeCool I am sorry if AF has arrived, she has been particularly cruel to you recently with her delayed arrivals. I hope you're ok? What extra supplements are you taking this cycle?

@muddypuddlejumping congrats on the 🙂! And amazing for sticking to the strict regime! The month I did that I got pregnant so I am sure there is something in it. 🤞🏻

@MrsAW2018 great to see you here, but also sorry to hear you're approaching the year mark too. Fingers crossed the docs will refer you soon.

@ProseccoBee I just saw your post. So sorry to see you back here and your MC, it is completely heartbreaking. It is such a horrible, hard experience to go through but it is great to have such a good support on here of girls that have been through similar experiences. I swear all of my close friends are pregnant and they are all due around when my due date was, it makes it even harder. X

@FlapJackered technically AF doesn't fully arrive until I stop progesterone, which I took longer than 14 days because it seemed like I may have had implantation bleeding at 10dpo, but now I know it's because I didn't have enough progesterone since I was taking it orally. So for this cycle, CoQ10, royal jelly and propolis, progesterone after I ovulate, B complex, fertility supplement with cassava root, agnus cactus, red raspberry leaf, and nettle leaf, and melatonin. All that is supposed to help produce better eggs.

@flapjackered I took Soy isoflavonnes last month too! I didn’t take them this month because I’m having day 5 and 21 blood tests done so didn’t want it to effect anything. If I don’t get my BFP this month next month I might take 200mg for 5 Days! 😂

Thank you @cupcakesandglitter and @flapjackered!

Gosh you all take a lot of supplements seriously need to up my game! I’ve heard a lot about the soy isoflavines so might try them next cycle! How’s everyone’s Monday gone?

@ProseccoBee good thanks apart from another lady annoying her pregnancy at work today! I get so jealous now but I can’t help it. I really want a baby so bad. I feel like everyone’s getting pregnant apart from me. x

@KatBeCool that sounds like a solid plan of action! I am taking the Soy again as I thought next cycle I probably won't be able to as hopefully I will get my referral through and will have more tests done. Otherwise taking rrl tea, grapefruit juice, coq10, conception multi vit, vit d, probiotic, inositol and fish oil. Then the trusty Brazil nuts after ov! Has your temp dropped yet?

@Mrs71 they did the job for me 1st time around with my bfp so I am hoping they will work again. 🤞🏻I did try them last month but it don't think my body had fully recovered from the mc. I went for 100mg,150,150,200,200 on days 3-7.
That's a good plan re the tests, you want them to be as accurate as possible. When do you get the results?

@ProseccoBee oh yes! I am at a stage where I am just throwing everything at it. If there is one person who says that some pill/food/yoga pose got them pregnant, I will try it! 😂

@Flapjackered my husband has an appointment for his sperm analysis tomorrow. I’m only on CD 9 so after my CD 21 blood test the GP told me to come back at the end of the month and will go through both results blood tests and sperm analysis. 🤞 The soy did bring my ovulation forward by 2 days last month when I took them but I had no luck. Hope they work for you.

@ProseccoBee good thankyou, has a bit of EWCM this morning and then creamy cm, so pretty sure I ovulated earlier... CD13 which is the same as last month so definitely promising!!!

@FlapJackered good to see you back xxx

@FlapJackered ahh, I forgot to list the fish oil! It's not my favorite. Cassava root seems to have similar effect as isoflavones, from what I read. I dunno if the temp dropped, I'm guessing it did as I am now CD3, but on CD1 it was still high, but who cares when there's clearly AF present. I switched the time I take levothyroxine to 3:30 in the morning but then I just come here and read. What CD are you?

Can someone recommend a soy isovlavone to take? And at what point in the cycle do you take it?

I haven't had time to catch up but just wanted to say I'm liking the "semi-pro" label It is amazing, I was never a huge fan of biology lessons at school but if I did an exam on the female cycle and TTC, like you ladies, I'd walk it, haha.

Will catch up later today and what is going on with all you ladies. Just about to have my follow up appointment after my disappointing 21 day test.

@Mrs71 I hope his appointment goes ok today and there are no nasty surprises!

@KatBeCool wow 3.30am that is early. Out of interest why do you take it so early? I am cd7 so just the long waiting game now!

@bunhead34 I take the nature's aid one from amazon, I take it days 3-7 in the evening starting with 100mg on day 3, 150mg days 4&5 and 200mg on day 6 and 7. It worked for me first time and I didn't change anything else so I am sure that is what did the job, but hasn't worked since annoyingly.

@Newbie21 Good luck with the docs, I will keep everything crossed for you that they have a positive plan of action! Let us know what they say. X

Has anyone tried Vitex/Angus castus before? I was thinking if the Soy doesn't work this cycle to start taking that instead.

Just about to go into an acupuncture appointment. I have been once before but it hurt like hell for some reason so I am hoping this one is better!

Anyone else using agnus castus?
I am but was fairly lax about it last month 🙈 I'm useless at remembering all this stuff!

@FlapJackered oh snap on the agnus castus question!
I've only taken it for 1 cycle properly, was thinking of maybe switching to soy.

I tried acupuncture a few months ago too - didn't think much of it 😕 funnily enough only 1 of my appointments was quite painful x

@FlapJackered I'm just annoyed that I can't eat right after taking levothyroxine. Plus I read somewhere that it's more effective when taken before bed, but I usually eat something small. So I figured since I have to take bbt anyway and I never wake up at the same time, I might as well set an alarm for that early and fall back to sleep after. I tried 4:30 before but I get too awake, 3:30 puts me right back to sleep.

Agnus Cactus is in the supplement I'm taking now but there's only 140mg, so I'm not sure how effective it is compared to the 900mg supplements they sell. I wish there weren't so many things to try. I can handle only so many per day.

Hi ladies hoping it’s on to join? I’ve just reaches the year point of TTC so just made an appointment with the doc. I had a miscarriage in September at 11 weeks and nothing since. Hoping the Gp will now start the tests though I’m worried they will say the miscarriage means we have to go from that date which would be really frustrating and I don’t think I would take it very well. 😢 x

Acupuncture was ok but not convinced it's going to work miracles, desperate times call for desperate measures though! 😂

@bunhead34 great minds! 😉 we can do a swap next cycle, I will do Agnus Castus and you can do Soy! 😂

@KatBeCool that makes sense! I am so bad at going back to sleep if I wake up in the night but I know what you mean about the eating. I wait now but it is not in my nature to wait for food in the morning!
I know what you mean about trying everything. It's so difficult to know what is worth doing and what isn't too.

Welcome @Dramaqueen14 so sorry to hear about your mc, a couple of us are in a similar boat so you will get good support here.
I was worried about that too with the docs but they told me the mc didn't count and I am being referred to a specialist now.

Hi all,

I've never heard of some of these things you ladies know about I might need to go back to the books (or google)! I take the pregnacare conception multi-vits and I take coenzyme Q10. I read that it takes about 90 days for stuff to have an impact on eggs and I've only been taking the coenzyme q10 for a little over a month so I will stick with it for a while (nothing to lose)

So the consultant talked hubby and me through the next stages and all the avenues open to us - Clomid, IUI, IVF. He said that progesterone being low and cycle starting to vary meant that more issues were left to chance so whilst we could keep going and trying month by month it could take quite some time and since I'm older that time may become more and more of an issue so he recommended Clomid to regulate ovulation so next cycle I will start on Clomid assuming dates work - as we are away last 2 weeks in June so if I need any appointments, scans then might be best to wait. At the moment my 12 cd appointment would be just just before we go so it might work out. I will get a progesterone injection too I believe. But I'm doing my next 21 day test next week to check levels again. Hubby is giving his sample today so a lot is going on. At the moment I'm feeling positive about it all as I have something to do. Doctor also scanned me, I was 13cd he saw a follicle preparing for ovulation but it only measures 16mm so he thinks ovulation should take place (if at all) at the weekend. My ovulation tests are showing flashing smileys so this sounds about right so we will give it a go over the next week. I'm glad it's slightly late this month as hubby not allowed to do anything for 48 hours before giving sample so I was a bit worried we would miss out this month.

Hey ladies - I'm not sure if you remember me from the TTC#1 thread before, but I just thought I'd nip on here for a bit of advice from you semi pros!! (love that btw)!

We've been TTC for 9 months now without a hint of anything. Absolutely nothing. I get pretty regular periods (27 days - 35 days), I'm 28 and neither of us having known health issues. However, this is the first month I'm temping (finally gave in Grin ) and I'm pretty certain it's going to confirm a short LP of 10 days.

I know it's possible to conceive (I remember crossfitgirl had a short LP), but it looks like it can make it way harder. I've briefly looked at ways to lengthen it and have seen: vit b complex, agnus castus and soy isoflavones all recommended. Anyone willing to share their experiences of this? I can see some of you like @FlapJackered @KatBeCool @Mrs71 have tried some of them? Is it specifically for an LP and if so, has it lengthened yours?

On a side note, @FlapJackered how're you finding acupuncture? I had my first appointment a week ago - I weirdly like it. Blush

Sorry to hijack your thread, I'm only 9 months in so I won't hang around and whinge but I just wanted some advice and loads of people on the old thread are pretty new to it all and make me feel like a semi-pro (which I am most definitely not Wink ).

Not at all @purplefig you're very welcome here! My LP is fine actually but I think @KatBeCool Has tried things to lengthen luteal phase so might have more tips.
(🙈 Not sure why but..) I did try progesterone cream last cycle and that is meant to help lengthen luteal phase. I did lots of research and chose Elan Organics, it might be worth a go? I have also heard good things about Agnus Castus for that purpose too, but I wouldn't take it with the Soy as they are both fairly potent I think!
If you want to try soy maybe give that a go first as you only take that day 3-7 where as I think Agnus Castus is recommended you take it longer term to see effects.

Acupuncture was ok, I can't say it made me feel any different but I will give it a few goes as I know people swear by it!
I went to a fertility specialist acupuncture lady and she has told me not to do any more vigorous exercise than walking or light swimming which I was quite surprised at. Not sure whether to listen to her or not as a lot of people say the opposite. 🤷🏼‍♀️

@Newbie21 that sounds really encouraging and great that they have got a plan with the Clomid etc! At least you know there is a way forward now and when your DHs SA comes back you can at least move on to the next step.

@Mrs71 🤞🏻 when do you get the results?

Hi all, hope it's ok for me to join. I've been trying for almost a year, on cycle #11 now. I am on another thread, they are all so lovely, but thought some of you who have been trying for longer might be able to offer more advice.
My cycle is very regular, usually 26-28 days. I get AF for 5 days usually. Used to get 2 days of spotting before it started, but now it's 4 days. Not sure why it's changed or if that's a problem? No medical issues for me or my husband. I used to track BBT but stopped as I didn't feel it helped. Use OPKs most months. Usually get a 'smiley face' around cycle day #12-14. Also use pre-seed. Taking folic acid and iron tables.
This month I got my smiley face on day 12. Noticed EWCM on day 16, entered it on my app and it said I might still be fertile. Is that even possible? Anyone else get two 'fertile' periods in one cycle?
My AF is due on Sunday or Monday but noticed spotting when I wiped earlier today, on cycle day #23 so not hopefully and expect AF to turn up! Finding it really tough now, 1 year feels like a real milestone for some reason, but not for a good reason :-(
That's for reading all that babble lol!
