Does anyone want to join?

I have been TTC #1 for 15 months and had a MC at 8 weeks in February.
I am off to the GP tomorrow to try and get a referral to a reproductive endocrinologist.
Tried every trick and tip and old wives tale in the book to get a bfp!
It would be good to have a group of longer term ttcers to chat to.

Oh dear 😐 I think I'm just going to go for it according to my FLO predicated O dates as much as possible and hope for the best. Ditch the OPKS I reckon x

Mrs71 · 03/06/2019 19:21

@flapjackered & @KatBeCool I had my gps appointment. He said everything is fine DH sperm count was great everything was above average. My TSH level was fine he said it was love because something else was high. He has given me another form to do another thyroid blood test. In 6/7 weeks time but he said it’s all fine nothing to worry about. 😕

Mrs71 · 03/06/2019 19:22

Now I feel even more worried I feel like he’s fobbing me off.

FlapJackered · 03/06/2019 20:48

@Mrs71 that is great news your DHs result was good! That is frustrating you didn't get the answers to the low tsh. It is good news he is testing it again though. You could try and do some research before you see him again and then go armed with some questions? If he didn't seem worried though that is probably a good sign! You could try booking your next appointment with a different doctor at your surgery and see if you get a better explanation. I do think some GPs have a better knowledge in certain areas than others.

KatBeCool · 03/06/2019 21:43

@Mrs71 did they test for T3 and T4? You can read about the correlations online, it all depends on each other.

@queenqueenqueen most of us tried smep. My OB however said start on CD10 every other day until cd20, but that's if your cycles are 28 days.

KatBeCool · 03/06/2019 22:06

I have no idea what is going on with me today. I'm 12 DPO. I'm insanely fatigued. Literally plastered to the couch and no strength no move, I can barely type this. Not to add the random skin breakouts that I never get.

FlapJackered · 03/06/2019 22:18

@KatBeCool sound like promising signs 🤞🏻 when do you think you will test? Or are you going to try and hold out for af?

OP posts:
Mrs71 · 03/06/2019 22:31

@KatBeCool yes they did test T3 T4 he said about those I cant work it out online I get so confused. He said they outweigh each other I was so overwhelmed in there it all went over my head. My DH did most of the listening. He said they balance or something 😕

Your signs sounds promising 🤞🤞 when are you going to test?

@flapjackered yes might do DH keeps saying it’s all fine which is such a good thing and the GP said he has super healthy sperm. 😂 x

KatBeCool · 03/06/2019 23:28

@FlapJackered @Mrs71 I'll test on Wednesday, it'll be 14 dpo. That's what they say to do when on progesterone. I'm tired of wasting frers and seeing bfns.

@Mrs71 it is possible that T3 and T4 values can make TSH results not look alarming. I would see if you have any hyperthyroidism (not hypothyroidism) symptoms just for your own curiosity. I'm glad they're retesting in a few weeks though. Ideally, you want to be above 0.5.

Carley321 · 04/06/2019 07:41

@queenqueenqueen tried it last month, lasted about 12 days. No luck either and just got my hopes up even more x

Goodyear2019 · 04/06/2019 10:02

@queenqueenqueen We follow that method most months. Although some months I don't use OPKs as it stresses me out, those months we just DTD every other day during my fertile window. My cycle is very regular so I can pretty much product my fertile window and we just hope for the best!

Mrs71 · 04/06/2019 11:23

@KatBeCool the GP told me to go back in about 6 weeks to confirm he’s checking the levels again but he said there is no need to worry as the T3 T4 levels were fine and balanced it. But I’m glad I’m having another test just to confirm he said if I’m that worried about it. My day 21 progesterone levels were high so that’s always good.

Mrs71 · 04/06/2019 11:27

@KatBeCool sorry didn’t finish writing same as me I don’t test as I hate seeing a BFN. I hope you get your BFP! 🤞🤞

FlapJackered · 05/06/2019 10:57

My gp just rang and apparently I have been rejected for the referral because my bmi is too low. 😩 it seems very unfair as I am definitely not underweight to look at me. I think I just have light bones. I am being weighed on Thursday next week and have got to put on 2 kgs by then. The receptionist recommended eating a lot on the day and wearing lots of clothes. DHs suggestion were paperweight in the hair, bags of sugar in my bra and ankle weights 😂.
So frustrating.

OP posts:
KatBeCool · 05/06/2019 12:33

@FlapJackered I'm very light boned, so my bmi always calculated as underweight. But I did gain a bit of weight as I knew that being 100% lean isn't good for pregnancy. I get hunger headaches so quickly, it'd be worse if I didn't gain weight and pregnant.
But I agree with your DH, wear ankle weights, anything you can easily hide, put something heavy in your pockets. Not like they'll tell you to get undressed for the weigh in. 2kgs is nothing. Just don't overdo it. Maybe eat something that'll get you constipated for a day or two, like lots of cheese. 😂

KatBeCool · 05/06/2019 15:44

BFN this morning, of course. No spotting either but I can't really go by that. At 14 dpo I should have a positive result if there is one, so clearly this cycle is another bust. Can't make it to the fertility clinic until the cycle after next as I'll be away from home on days they'll need to scan. I guess I'll try Clomid again next month although I think the supplements helped more.

FlapJackered · 05/06/2019 15:53

@KatBeCool sorry to hear that. It sounds like you are getting a good handle on what works and what doesn't with your cycle so hopefully next time is the winning combination.
😂 cheese it is!! I will weigh myself before I go and make sure I am safely into the accepted range!

OP posts:
Mrs71 · 05/06/2019 16:43

@Flapjackered 2 kg isn’t a massive amount of weight I like the idea of ankle weights! 😂

@KatBeCool sorry to hear about the bfn. I’ve ordered conceive plus today has anyone else tried it? Also taking Soy isoflovonnes this month. 2-6

Carley321 · 05/06/2019 18:36

I’m always underweight according to my BMI too. But my doctor hasn’t brought it up yet. I have also tried to gain weight with no luck. I am such a stress head I think I worry it all away.

What about some good old chicken fillets in the bra @FlapJackered you can get some weighty ones about these days lol.

Carley321 · 05/06/2019 18:39

Sorry about the bfn @KatBeCool. It’s just shit isn’t it! Our bodies are a maze of confusion!

I have seen high reviews on pre-seed on another thread @Mrs71 defo worth a go.

I’m also sitting here contemplating what plan of action I can put into place next!

FlapJackered · 06/06/2019 09:29

@Mrs71 I have been using preseed for about 8 months and it did work for one of those cycles! So i definitely don't think they do any harm, but I also don't think they are a ticket to a bfp either.

@Carley321 good idea! I think it's also that I have pretty much given up booze and cut out junk food too which makes it harder to put weight on.

How is everyone? Is anyone else due this weekend? I am due on Saturday but for once going to test early tomorrow as I have a party which I would have a drink at if negative.

OP posts:
KatBeCool · 06/06/2019 09:50

@Mrs71 I've used both PreSeed and Conceive Plus. I find the latter less gross. But obviously neither are the magic maker as I'm still here.

@FlapJackered fingers crossed for you.

I decided to stay on progesterone until CD28, so it'd be CD16. I have no AF symptoms, well I never do anyway, but I get mild cramping thy day before and spotting the day it shows up. Neither happened yet. And in previous cycles progesterone couldn't stop the spotting.

LoveTheBear85 · 06/06/2019 09:53

Hi ladies!

Mind if I join you? I got the process rolling yesterday for a fertility clinic referral. My GP was actually very helpful. I need to book in for my blood work at the start of my next cycle (who knows when that will be... Part of the whole problem!). DH needs to send off a sample (a logistical mission given the tight timelines you need to send the sample in by and travel times for us). Then we wait.

There is a chance I might not get the referral because of my weight. Apparently the like you to be under a BMI of 30 here, which is some way off for me. I have joined Slimming World and am nearly 2 stone down already, so I am hoping that by the time referral comes around it will be closer to 3 and that will go in my favour.

Goodyear2019 · 06/06/2019 09:54

@KatBeCool I've never used Conceive Plus but do use PreSeed. Same as you, no idea if its of any help since I'm still here haha! When is your AF due?

FlapJackered · 06/06/2019 10:01

Welcome @LoveTheBear85 That is great the GPs are being helpful with the whole process. I am in the same position with the bmi but for the opposite reason. My referral was rejected as my bmi was too low so I am trying to get it up by next week when I am weighed. It is annoying that bmi is a factor. How long have you been ttc for?

@KatBeCool it's better to keep it going for longer rather than stopping it too soon.
