Does anyone want to join?

I have been TTC #1 for 15 months and had a MC at 8 weeks in February.
I am off to the GP tomorrow to try and get a referral to a reproductive endocrinologist.
Tried every trick and tip and old wives tale in the book to get a bfp!
It would be good to have a group of longer term ttcers to chat to.

3 BFP’s on this lucky 🍀 thread this month. Amazing news!

Mrs71 · 31/05/2019 07:57

I dtd last night I know this sounds so rank but I went to the toilet after and I had very light pink smears and lots of yellow snotty stuff it looked like. Never had that before.

Mrs71 · 31/05/2019 08:14

Hi ladies. I need some help @flapjackered I just picked up a print out of my blood results and by the thyroid function bit the TSH level it says below range? I feel really worried now maybe that what the doc wanted to speak to me about.

FlapJackered · 31/05/2019 08:22

@Mrs71 try not to worry too much, it's great that they know this now as it is totally fixable with medication and could have been what was standing in your way. Does it give a number for TSH? What they will probably do is give you another blood test for the other thyroid tests which include T4 and antibodies in your blood.

Mrs71 · 31/05/2019 08:24

@flapjackered it 0.03 miu/L in (0.35 - 5.5) it says below low reference limit
Sounds really low ? 😕

Newbie21 · 31/05/2019 08:24

@Mrs71 please don't worry. If it does indicate that your thyroid is a bit underactive they can fix that. My friend had an under active thyroid diagnosed and then fell pregnant 2 months later! And has 3 beautiful children xx

FlapJackered · 31/05/2019 08:31

@Mrs71 it is under active but as Newbie says there's absolutely no reason you won't get pregnant once you have been medicated. So try not to worry. Do you have any of the symptoms? Sleep problems, weight loss, anxiety, heart palpitations?
When is your gp appointment?

Newbie21 · 31/05/2019 08:42

@Mrs71 I can tell you my "symptoms" this month although who knows whether it's just my body but since I always want to know other ladies' here goes 😂:
1 - when I ovulated - I got diarrhea- this has happened each time I've been pregnant but also on other cycles too - so poss a sign of ovulation for me (🤷‍♀️)
2 - from one bout of diarrhea it then switched to constipation! Not painful or anything but I realized I hadn't done a no. 3 for days, now it's kind of normalized. (I read somewhere that changes in digestion, bowel behavior can be an indication and that as progesterone increases constipation is more likely than diarrhea but I think this can all happen on a woman's normal cycle anyway)
3- the other day (9dpo) I had a fluttery feeling in my uterus - and that was when I messaged you ladies and said I felt pregnant. Ive has the feeling each time I have been before. (It might have been wishful thinking but the feeling has definitely been there but I haven't been aware of it months that I haven't been pregnant).
4 - when I've been hungry the last few days I've felt a little nauseous - not hugely though so maybe that is literally just hunger! (I never got morning sickness in any previous pregnancy only slightly nauseous with my DS but that was much much later - about 7 weeks).

Newbie21 · 31/05/2019 08:43

*no 2 not 3 lol.

Carley321 · 31/05/2019 09:19

Congratulations @Newbie21 and @Babysquid amazing news. How long were you ttc? Anything you did different this month?

Thank you @Flapjackered and @slb1985.

Tested this morning had a bfn and a bit of spotting not long after. So I’m out. No cramps at all this month so far. Which is strange.

BabySquid · 31/05/2019 09:32

@Carley321 my DH pretty much cut out caffeine this month, only having like one coffee a week, and a rare class of coke. That's the only thing. Oh and the night before ov we were out with friends drinking and when we got home we were both so horny and had the best fun sex ever, lasted like 4 and half hours and was amazing! No thoughts of legs up or which position he was going to finish in, nothing!! I think putting the fun back into it helped a lot!!

Carley321 · 31/05/2019 09:36

That’s good to know @Babysquid. I’ve tried to cut right back on drinking. But maybe it’s just what we need. Because the fun has most definitely began to disappear lately. Everything we do is a mind map of decisions and what ifs. I’d really like to be easier going with it all but it’s so bloody hard lol.

cupcakesandglitter · 31/05/2019 09:37

Ahhhh @BabySquid @Newbie21 congrats!!! 🎉🎊 super pleased for you both!!! Xxxxx

BabySquid · 31/05/2019 09:39

@Carley321 it is hard, it really is, but I decided last month that I wasn't going to put my life on hold any longer, and we booked our holiday to Oz for October in March. Just taking that pressure off a bit and having something to look forward to has helped.

Mrs71 · 31/05/2019 10:50

Welcome @carly321 👋🏼

@Newbie21 your friend that got thyroid was she ttc before hand?

@flapjackered yeah I do get really anxious

Mrs71 · 31/05/2019 10:52

@flapjackered didn’t finish and pressed post I do get really anxious I don’t even know why. I sometimes lie awake for ages in bed even when I’m tired but can’t get to sleep. GP appointment is Monday afternoon. I can’t help but feel so worried. x

Goodyear2019 · 31/05/2019 10:54

Congratulations @Babysquid and @Newbie21 fantastic news! Gives me hope that it will all work out for us all!!
Welcome @Carley321 and @slb1985 Totally empathise with everything you said, you're in the right place to speak to people who understand what you're going through. Wishing you lots of luck TTC :-)

Newbie21 · 31/05/2019 11:25

@Mrs71 yes it was for baby no. 3 she didn't have issues for 1 and 2 although she did have an MC before baby no. 1 and she lost a twin at the very very early stages when carrying baby no2 but neither of those were thyroid related. I think she was trying for about 6 months or so before the diagnoses.

Newbie21 · 31/05/2019 11:29

@Carley321 I have been trying for 17months but in that time I've had 2 MCs and a CP - last MC was Nov. the only thing I did differently is that I've been taking coenzyme q10 -200mg per day for the last 7 weeks ish. I haven't taken it religiously but maybe it has made a difference.

Carley321 · 31/05/2019 11:41

@Babysquid I most definitely get that feeling, we haven’t even booked our summer holiday yet 🙈.

Oz sounds amazing, will you still go?

Thanks @Mrs71. Hi! Hope your Gp appointment goes well! Is it the first time to air your concerns?

Thank you @Goodyear2018 😊.

Thanks @Newbie21. I am a little hesitant about taking anything extra at the moment because I came off the pill a year and it’s only my last 2 cycles that have been under 30/40 days. Which has obviously been another worry for me.

BabySquid · 31/05/2019 11:53

@Carley321 yes we'll still go, the flights are none refundable! And I'll only be 24 weeks.

Mrs71 · 31/05/2019 12:30

@Newbie21 that’s good to hear. Monday can’t come quick enough.

@Carley321 thanks I went few weeks ago and had day 3 and day 21 blood tests done. Day 3 is where the thyroid thing has been picked up but I haven’t seen or spoken to my GP yet as he’s on annual leave this week so Monday afternoon is my appointment. Feeling really worried and anxious. Day 21 is all normal which is good.

NotMaryWhitehouse · 31/05/2019 17:41

Congrats @Newbie21 and @BabySquid , lovely news- hope all goes smoothly for you both

Newbie21 · 31/05/2019 17:58

Thanks ladies, I'm having the HCG 48 hour blood tests on 8th and 10th and a scan on 10th so hopefully all will be ok. Whilst I dread having to go to the EPU, it will hopefully put my mind at ease a little bit if all ok. We go on holiday on 15th so hoping all will be ok so I can enjoy it.

Carley321 · 31/05/2019 20:10

Yes that is good @Mrs71, it confirms ovulation doesn’t it? I’ve never had day 3 bloods. I wonder why not 🤔. Good luck again for your appointment 🤞 for you x

Oh lovely @Babysquid that will be an amazing last holiday alone 💗
