Does anyone want to join?

I have been TTC #1 for 15 months and had a MC at 8 weeks in February.
I am off to the GP tomorrow to try and get a referral to a reproductive endocrinologist.
Tried every trick and tip and old wives tale in the book to get a bfp!
It would be good to have a group of longer term ttcers to chat to.

Good luck to everyone ttc. I hope this is our lucky thread. 🤞 Sorry for the separate messages wouldn’t let me write more on the other threads!!

Newbie21 · 30/05/2019 06:27

Did a FRER and there is definitely another line but it's a lot lighter than the other line, so did another CB and the line is darker than yesterday. I've never had a positive on a frer so I'm not sure what it should be like. I was expecting it to be a lot darker because it's more sensitive and I feel a bit crampy since last night so quite worried. I think I'll contact the consultant today to see if I need to be doing anything given my low progesterone.

NotMaryWhitehouse · 30/05/2019 06:52

@Newbie21 definitely contact your consultant today and tell them! They might get you in ASAP to see what's going on- someone I know who had low pro and several miscarriages ended up having weekly injections and went on to have a successful pregnancy.

Good luck, hopefully it will all go smoothly

NotMaryWhitehouse · 30/05/2019 06:53

I am getting ready to go for my day 21 blood test. Feeling a bit nervous, no idea why, just the idea that they might come back and say 'everything's fine, as you were' and we are just left to it. Clearly something is not quite right.

BabySquid · 30/05/2019 07:08

@NotMaryWhitehouse how long have you been ttc? I don't think they'd just send you on your way, they might as for some more test. Have you got a referral to the fertility clinic?
We're going through that at the mo but they didn't ask me for my day 21's which is worrying as I think I'm low on pro. Soon find out though. Hugs 🤗

NotMaryWhitehouse · 30/05/2019 08:26

@BabySquid thank you, I appreciate that.

We don't no, but I will make an appointment today to go through the blood tests and maybe they will refer us then. Been trying for just over a year with one miscarriage last summer.

Newbie21 · 30/05/2019 08:46

@NotMaryWhitehouse I understand the nerves, I think if you have been trying over a year they will run other tests. It could be that there are no issues and it will just take time... I was told a similar thing last year but since then my progesterone has become an issue. We all want the doctors to diagnose something that can be easily fixed - at least - that's been my hope. Good luck with your tests.

Newbie21 · 30/05/2019 11:25

The very light pink spotting when I wipe had just started so looks like a chemical pregnancy again :-(

FlapJackered · 30/05/2019 13:12

@Newbie21 try not to worry yet, spotting is very normal in early pregnancy. I spotted right at the beginning (which terrified me!) and apparently it's just the embryo implanting further into the lining.
I know it is hard though. Perhaps wait and take another frer in a couple of days to check the line progression? Did you talk to the consultant in the end?

Welcome back @BabySquid great to hear from you! That's great your results came back normal! 🤞🏻 your DHs results come back ok. That's so good your DH is on board with caffeine etc. My DH is still drinking caffeine and lots of booze, he said unless a consultant tells him otherwise he won't change 🙄

@bunhead34 that sounds like you have it covered! 🤞🏻🤞🏻

@NotMaryWhitehouse try not to worry although it's hard, if they do come back normal I would just chat to your gp about it and explain you think there must be something else going on. X

@KatBeCool you have been very quiet, how are you lovely?

Newbie21 · 30/05/2019 13:27

@FlapJackered thanks for the reassurance. It just feels like the usual drill - spotting starting on DPO 11. I didn't have any spotting with my DS or the MCs. I have left a message with the consultant so waiting for his response. Also called the GP for my latest progesterone results - got told that all were "normal" apart from one which GP will discuss with me. I asked to have a print out so I will pick that up tomorrow although secretary says it just says "normal" rather than having levels which is super annoying but I will find out tomorrow. DH got told that test results were sent to the NHS clinic - appointment not until end of July so that is annoying, we're going to see if we can pick up a copy of those tomorrow also if gp has kept copy on file.

KatBeCool · 30/05/2019 13:39

@FlapJackered I'm just lurking around and reading. This cycle is most likely a waste for me as we dtd only once the day I got positive opk. I know there's a chance, but my hopes are low. My symptoms aren't any different than every other cycle, so I'm just waiting it out. 8dpo today. I'm not even going to test unless I'm late. How are you doing?

@BabySquid they didn't do my day 21 tests either, but I do have a progesterone prescription that I got when I Clomid was prescribed. Progesterone certainly lengthens my luteal phase.

@Newbie21 definitely consult someone.

@NotMaryWhitehouse if your blood tests are normal, it's not the end of the journey, still plenty of tests left. Some things on your blood test you want to be normal as you can't fix them if they aren't, like AMH or FSH. Good luck!

FlapJackered · 30/05/2019 14:04

@KatBeCool as CrossFit proved, it only takes once! Although I do get it.
I am good thanks. Only 5dpo so just a waiting game now.
If I do get a bfp it's going to be very hard next week as I have 3 parties where everyone will be checking what I am drinking, so in a way if I don't get a bfp I won't be as sad as I normally am.

@Newbie21 that is frustrating! I would have thought the GPs would have a copy.
Keeping everything crossed for you that it isn't a chemical. X

Hi ladies.

@Newbie21 hope it’s not a chemical you never know could just be implantation spotting. Some people do get it around time of AF is due.

@NotMaryWhitehouse good luck with your tests. I also felt a little nervous when I went. All my results are in now so I have an appointment with the GP for Monday afternoon with DH to go over all the test results. 🤞

slb1985 · 30/05/2019 19:27

Can I join? Will hit the year mark in a months time...

I remember thinking that I would definitely be pregnant this time last year and its really getting me down that I am still very much not. Late last year a close friend fell pregnant accidentally and she’s due next month which is making this period even harder.... I want to be happy for her and part of me really is but its bitter sweet.

I’ve been to the docs already, had blood tests and I'm ovulating, hormones look okay. Cycles have come down from 40 to 50 days when I came off my IUD to an average of 34. No tests on my partner yet but I guess we'll go back to the doctors if we've not got there soon and see.

It’s crazy how I spent my 20s trying very, very hard not to get pregnant and just assumed it would be easy. I feel like a different person from before TTC, all around me people are pregnant or have small children and I feel left out and sad.

I guess you have to stay hopeful - they do say it can take up to two years. But I just feel like it will never happen, I'm sick of policing my body for symptoms during the TWW each month. Hoping and then feeling so disappointed when I get yet another BFN.

Mrs71 · 30/05/2019 19:59

@slb1985 welcome to the thread. Everyone here is so supportive and it’s nice to talk about all the shit things. I feel exactly the same as you. Last year I was like I’ll defiantly be pregnant this time last year. All those milestones come and go and it’s so disheartening sometimes but it will happen for us all.

I was feeling really positive this month but I have such bad cramps like AF and really creamy discharge (tmi) like before I always get before AF 😞

Mrs71 · 30/05/2019 20:00

Sorry didn’t proof read that 🙄

Carley321 · 30/05/2019 20:28

Hello all can I join?

We have currently been ttc for 12 months #1. I have had a few bloods done because of such irregular periods and all came back fine, also had an internal scan and DP SA. Also came back fine. Although my right ovary was much higher than my left (anyone know if this is a concern?).

I am feeling similar to @slb1985 it’s getting very draining with my mind and body every time FW and then TWW and then AF come along. I just find myself getting increasingly frustrated that it just isn’t happening!

Hope all you lovely ladies are good and there are some bfp on here soon. X

slb1985 · 30/05/2019 21:11

@Mrs71 I don't think there is such a thing as tmi on here ;)

Yeah it is nice to come on here, talk and remember there are other women out there going through this too. It’s really odd how lonely this is. Out there in the real world one talks about how worrying, draining and isolating TTC can be.

I'm on CD4 and I've got a really busy June coming up, with weddings and hen parties etc. So it’s going to be hard to have enough time to really BD this month and keep my health on track. I find that booze, rich food etc all impact a lot on my cycle! Not sure if I should just write this month off...

Have my fingers crossed for both of you @Mrs71 and @Carley321 we deserve some luck!

NotMaryWhitehouse · 31/05/2019 05:50

@Mrs71 thank you, good luck with your GP, I hope they are helpful/informative.

BabySquid · 31/05/2019 06:33

Good morning guys. Welcome to the new guys, so sorry to see you on here. Don't lose hope.

So I want to selfishly share with you all, that after DH's hard work of cutting out coffee... it must have done the trick... BFP on a frer right now. I can't stop happy crying. Just hoping to GOD this is a sticky little one and I don't go through September again. I'm testing a little early due to a stag do tonight so I'm trying not to get ahead of myself.
Spreading my baby dust to you all, and if you don't mind I'll hang around... just in case. Xxx

Newbie21 · 31/05/2019 07:03

Congratulations @BabySquid that's great news!!

Spotting continued all day yesterday so I was sure it was a CP but I took a test just now and the line appeared straight away and so much darker. I had wine last night cos I was sure it was not going to work out and I didn't want people to assume I was pregnant when I wasn't but maybe i am?!?!? I'm such an idiot!!!!! Why did I drink wine?!

BabySquid · 31/05/2019 07:06

@Newbie21 thank you. Also, don't beat yourself up about it. A couple of glasses this early, I'm sure, is not going to make a difference. Don't test for a few days (hard I know but as your OH to hide any you have) and then see what it says on Monday or so??

Mrs71 · 31/05/2019 07:17

@babysquid and @Newbie21 congratulations 🎉 did you feel any different this month? xx

BabySquid · 31/05/2019 07:21

@Mrs71 Thank you so much
I stayed positive all month as much as I could. But also, I've been hungrier than usual past 3 days and V tired. But other than that nothing really. Nips are a little sensitive but my boobs are usually very achy pre AF, and this month they weren't, so I put the nips down to that.

FlapJackered · 31/05/2019 07:39

@BabySquid oh my god! Congratulations!!!! 🎉🎉 I am so so happy for you lovely! It is so deserved after such a long journey. I will keep everything crossed for you that it sticks but the odds are in your favour and I am sure in 9 months time you will have a gorgeous baby squid! Keep us updated!

@Newbie21 that is great news! I know it is hard to accept especially when you have had chemicals before but you are pregnant! 😂. There is no reason to think this won't be a healthy pregnancy. Don't worry about the wine, apparently it wouldn't even be an issue until you're 6 weeks (and share a blood supply I think)

Welcome @Carley321 and @slb1985
I can assure you we all feel very much the same on here. It is such a hard process and one I didn't even think would be an issue before we started trying. We have had several bfps on this thread though which is a great hope that it will happen for us eventually.
