Does anyone want to join?

I have been TTC #1 for 15 months and had a MC at 8 weeks in February.
I am off to the GP tomorrow to try and get a referral to a reproductive endocrinologist.
Tried every trick and tip and old wives tale in the book to get a bfp!
It would be good to have a group of longer term ttcers to chat to.

@muddypuddlejumping massive congratulations! After so long it must feel extra exciting.

Mrs71 · 23/05/2019 13:13

@muddypuddlejumping congrats to you! So positive seeing a BFP on this thread! I can’t even imagine how happy you must me x

muddypuddlejumping · 23/05/2019 15:47

Thank you everyone. I know how hard it is to see a bfp so I'm so sorry if it has upset any of you - never my intention.
@purplefig We did every other day this time rather than every day which we've done a lot of months. I've completely abstained from alcohol which I've not previously done and been more conscious on what I've eaten. However, I honestly think it's just bloody luck!
I've just spent £25 on pregnancy tests 😳done a first response which was extremely dark but just need to keep seeing it!

cupcakesandglitter · 23/05/2019 16:13

Congrats @muddypuddlejumping xx

Mrs71 · 23/05/2019 19:24

@muddlepuddlejumping defiantly didn’t offend I feel really positive that you got your bfp! There is hope for us all.

PineappleC · 24/05/2019 08:26

@muddypuddlejumping massive congrats!! 🎉 And its really great to know that even if we've been trying for a while a BFP could be just round the corner! Wishing you a great 9 months xx

FlapJackered · 24/05/2019 11:52

I started temping today and it was 36.51, which is above my cover line. My cover line is normally 36.30. I did sleep in by 1.30hrs so I am hoping that it is that which has caused the spike and not that I have already ovulated weirdly early this cycle 🙈 It is not helping the chill though!

@muddypuddlejumping not at all! It is lovely to see a bfp when it is someone you're rooting for! How did your DH react to the news?

@Goodyear2019 The 21 day bloods will check your progesterone and if that is high enough it is a good indication that you are ovulating I think!
Day 3 tests for oestrogen, follicle stimulating hormone and luteinising hormone, as well as vit b12, vit d and folate I think!

That's @FlapJackered I know it's silly but I always get a bit flustered when dealing with doctors and feel stupid asking questions or forget what it was a I wanted to ask!

I haven't been temping for a few months, but I didn't always notice a difference if I didn't take it at the same time every day (usually a weekend when I had slept later than during the week) so I'd put my bets on it being that rather than you having ovulated early. Good luck!

My fertile period starts this weekend, another month another chance!

Goodyear2019 · 24/05/2019 12:48

sorry meant to say, I did always notice a difference in expected temp if I took it at a different time of day

KatBeCool · 24/05/2019 13:07

@FlapJackered did you BD in the last few days?

So I definitely ovulated on CD12. Yesterday my temp shot up super high, which also never happened before, it was always very gradual. This morning it was just as high. Still going to start taking progesterone as I am not going to trust the supplements to make it happen naturally. We dtd only once though as DH is ill. Hopefully it's enough.

FlapJackered · 24/05/2019 13:18

@KatBeCool cd12 that is good! When do you normally ovulate? Once is all it takes!
Annoyingly we haven't as DH has been away, back today.
I have got major cramps today so I have no idea what that means. I am sleeping really well which normally changes after I ovulate so I am hoping that is a sign I haven't yet. Tomorrow will tell I expect.

@Goodyear2019 thanks! Hopefully it's just a blip!
I know what you mean, I get so worried about the GPs 10 minute appointment limit that I end up forgetting to ask things in the rush! 🙈

KatBeCool · 24/05/2019 16:10

@FlapJackered I ovulate usually on CD13-15, and more often closer towards 15. Wishing you the best times pouncing DH tonight 😂.

KatBeCool · 24/05/2019 20:02

For my blood results today. TSH 2.1, I guess it's fine. But my Vitamin D is quite low. I swear it's impossible to balance everything. Are those smoking, drinking, bad food habit eating, drug addicted women perfectly healthy somehow? What am I missing?

NotMaryWhitehouse · 24/05/2019 20:07

@KatBeCool that's what I always think!!!

FlapJackered · 24/05/2019 21:43

@KatBeCool I know! Ridiculous isn't it, and there is us ticking every box! Are you taking a vit d supplement?

OP posts:
KatBeCool · 24/05/2019 22:25

@FlapJackered I have been taking 2000 miu, but now my gp wants me to take 10000. My vit D is only 24, that's super low. I might take even more than 10000 just to get it back up sooner, I've heard of people taking up to 50000.

FlapJackered · 24/05/2019 22:28

@KatBeCool wow! That is a lot! I was worried I was maybe taking too much at 3000iu. That's good to know though as vit d is quite important I hear.

I think I just got a positive opk! That is a week earlier than last cycle! The only thing I did differently was the acupuncture, I take back all my skepticism if I get a static smiley tomorrow. Getting a bfp aside I will be so happy as that will be the earliest ever ov for me!

Newbie21 · 25/05/2019 05:48

@FlapJackered good luck! Lots of bd for you this bank holiday!

I'm 6dpo and feeling super impatient. I had my 21 day progesterone test yesterday so need to wait about a week for the results. I'm feeling achy twinges but I think I always get this - pg or not.

Anyone else in the TWW and symptom spotting?

Question for anyone on Clomid and or progesterone - I start Clomid next cycle - I've been told I will need to go for a scan on cd 12 (to check Clomid is doing what it is supposed to do). After that, does anyone know if you have to attend hospital/clinic for any reason during that cycle? I only ask as if the timing of next cycle is as it should be then I go on holiday about cd15 for two weeks so I'm wondering if best to hold off the Clomid until the next cycle when I get back.

KatBeCool · 25/05/2019 06:24

@Newbie21 with Clomid, you ovulate 7-10 days after the last pill. If you're going on holiday with your DH and they are not doing a trigger shot, you're ok. On CD12 they simply confirm if you're growing a follicle. If you are, then great. If not, they'll increase the Clomid dose for the next cycle. So you're not losing anything by starting it sooner.

@FlapJackered fingers crossed for static smiley!

FlapJackered · 25/05/2019 07:34

Static smiley!! 😄
Although v confused now as my temp is still above the cover line (although slightly lower than yesterday)? Opks were a definite negative until last night so I am not sure what to think? I don't know if my rise in levothyroxine could be messing with my temperatures?
I will Dtd today and tomorrow anyway but I am hoping we didn't miss the boat. I stupidly thought sex was too early yesterday so jumped up straight after to go to the loo. 🙈Ah well! I am just happy this will be a shorter cycle!

Newbie21 · 25/05/2019 09:09

Thanks @KatBeCool

Fingers crossed the timing works out @FlapJackered I say just get to it and cover all bases!

KatBeCool · 25/05/2019 09:49

@FlapJackered hooray for static smiley! I don't think it's levothyroxine to blame for higher temps. TSH can decrease oestrogen levels, and oestrogen is what's keeping the temps low. So lowering TSH would lower the temps. I'd wait and see where your temps go in the next few days. Maybe your cover line changed?
Mine somehow lowered this cycle.

FlapJackered · 25/05/2019 12:13

@KatBeCool hopefully!
I just thought because if you are hypothyroid you're meant to have a lower body temp so I wondered if the medication would then produce the opposite effect? 🤷🏼‍♀️

Thanks @Newbie21 I'm on it! 🐎😂

KatBeCool · 25/05/2019 12:45

@FlapJackered ahh, I don't even know anymore. My cover line was always higher. Maybe lower body temperature doesn't apply to bbt? Or maybe, as usual, my body just likes to be different.
