Pretty sure I ovulated yesterday (hopefully!), due AF on 13th May, anybody else starting their 2WW?

(Warning: I am a serial symptom spotter and POAS addict, I have zero willpower 😂)

@RudyRoo it's definately torture! I keep feeling like I might be pregnant but it could be my hormones or my mind playing tricks on me. The first 3 weeks after I stopped the pill my nipples were unbelievably sore! (Sorry tmi) the last few days i keep feeling nauseous and having a few odd cramps but again it could be af or just hormones Confused - tested this morning with a cheap internet test and it was bfn!
Keeping everything crossed for either a bfp or at least some regularity Grin
How did you find it when you came off?
Are you having regular cycles now? Or at least able to predict and rest sort of at the right time?

Abi58 · 30/04/2019 20:32

@RudyRoo
Just read your other post. Keeping everything crossed for you tomorrow, I'm sure everything is fine!
How long have you been off the pill for? I started when I was 16 for acne so I only had less than a year of 'real' periods - which probably were only mild as had so few!
On the pill it went from 5 days regular to 3 days very light then the last few years it was 24-48 hours and 95% of the time I was only when I wiped didn't even need anything, when I did it was only for my own peace of mind if I was doing something or out. I went to ask and they said the pill can do that and not to worry, could it be the pill doing things to your hormones still?
Let us know how you get on tomorrow

MMama18 · 30/04/2019 20:38

@Abi argh it can be so confusing can’t it! I had a coil before having my DD and when I had it taken out I bled immediately and then got pregnant first month without really trying, unfortunately that ended in MC but I then got pregnant immediately again (another MC) so by the time it came to TTC a third time I had no idea whatsoever where I was as I’d not had an actual period in months!

I used ovulation predictor kits OPKs which (sorry if you already know this!) you POAS the same as a pregnancy test, usually during your fertile week and your test line gets darker as it’s detecting a rise in leutinising hormone that peaks just before ovulation (your darkest test line). That helps you know when to DTD.

My tactic this month was to just DTD every over day so that whenever I ovulated there would be sperm around to meet the egg (although I’m now being a CF and wishing I’d used OPKs 😂), but for you I’d suggest DTD ever other day now until you get your AF (or BFP) juuuust in case ov was late, you never know!
Then next cycle use the OPKs if you have no luck this time.

@Rudy good luck this morning, 🤞 for you that it’s good news! X

Hi @MMama18 thanks for your thinking of me this morning! 😊 so I am just back from the docs and apparently everything is fine. Progesterone levels were 40 so its seems I am ovulating fine. I was in such a flap this morning about it as well! (Constant over-worrier 🙄)
About the light periods, he said he doesn't seem to think this would cause an issue, but wasn't ruling it out. Basically I don't think he knew, a bit of a grey area. We have been TTC for 8 months and I am 33, DH 34. I was also thinking there may be an issue with the lining too, but GP says he won't refer for any other tests for me until it has been a year. Just to keep DTD! He has said he will test DH sperm though so we will do that next week to rule that out. I'm on CD30 now and still no AF (which isn't exactly unusual for me) so I might pluck up the courage and do a test in a couple of days if nothing has happened. x

@Abi58 oh yes your body certainly does play tricks on you! I'm just so aware now of every sensation in my body! 😬
I have been off the pill for 8 months and didn't get any AF until about 8 weeks after. Since then my cycles have been anything from 30 - 46 but generally around the 34/35 mark which I seem to recall is what they were like when I was much younger before the pill. So basically I don't think they have fully settled down now but hopefully I'm getting there. The only concern I'm having is the tiny amount of flow. I thought that would have stopped after coming off. Mine sounds like yours - no sanitary products needed really. I have also started taking Agnus Castus to regulate cycles which is something you may want to look into further down the line.
I hope you get a BFP or AF soon! It's so annoying being in limbo land. X

MMama18 · 01/05/2019 09:56

@Rudy glad your hormones are behaving! That’s one less thing to worry about 👍 getting DH tested too sounds like a good idea, it’s not invasive testing for him, whereas I think from here for women it gets rather uncomfortable so best to pursue the easiest option first!

After a bit of googling it seems to be a minimum lining of 7-8mm is considered a good chance of implantation, so if there’s not much loss for you perhaps that’s why?

After my MCs I saw lots of ladies on MN swear by drinking pomegranate juice (if you like cranberry it’s fine, if like me you don’t, it’s rank!), it supposedly increases blood flow to your uterus and therefore helps build a thicker lining? No idea if there’s any science in it, but I did it when TTC a third time and DD was a nice sticky baby!

This time around I’m blending it into fruit smoothies for breakfast as I really can’t stand the taste! And making DH drink it too as from further reading it’s supposed to be good for his swimmers too!

If DTD is GPs only advice, it’s a good job you’ve got a nice baby-making holiday coming up! 😉

RudyRoo · 01/05/2019 11:48

@MMama18 yes I heard that too, I think I am going to stock up on pomegranate juice! Which brand do you buy? I don't want to get one packed with sugar...also how much do you take, a glass a day? Not too bothered by taste, I can just down it if it's not too nice. (Plenty of practice in my younger years drinking tequila 😂)

Your smoothies sound like an excellent plan and you'll be getting lots of other goodness in there too, all will be helpful for TTC 👍🏼

Yes thank bloody god for this holiday coming up, hopefully I'll be able to switch my brain off for a couple of weeks!

Roo3125 · 01/05/2019 12:19

Hi, hope it's ok to join!

On ttc cycle #1
Ovulated yesterday
Af or BFP due 12th of May.

Hoping for good news this month but don't want to become poas addicted haha! 😂

MMama18 · 01/05/2019 12:19

@Rudy I was the same as you and didn’t want anything high in sugar so I started with POM last time, but it’s quite expensive (£3.70 in Sainsbury’s for 700ml) but it was the lowest sugar content I could find. My DM shops at Morrison’s and they do their own branded juice (in the chilled section with apple juice etc) and it’s £1 for 1L and only a bit higher in sugar. I used to get her to pick me some up in her weekly shop as she knew we were TTC but it’s a secret this time so I’ll probably be swapping between the two (if not got lucky this time) as Morrison’s is very out of the way for us.

I was told 8oz a day by a MNetter, so that’s what I stuck to! Smoothies is the way forward for me, I was never very good with tequila shudders and still a spring chicken at 24 so no excuse really 🙈🙊

Ahh you’re AF is due the day before me, 🤞 they don’t show!

TTC Cycle 5
I think I ovulated on 24th/25th April
AF due 12th May

Trying so hard not to test! can't say I've had many symptoms as of yet but the last couple of cycles I went a bit crazy with the symptom spotting so trying to keep calm this month!

RudyRoo · 01/05/2019 13:39

@MMama18 excellent, thanks for the info 👍🏼
My goodness you are a spring chicken! You have youth on your side 😊

Roo3125 · 01/05/2019 14:13

@MMama18 I'm 26, so not far off you! Had a really long (56/57 day cycle) coming off the pill, so this is our first proper month of trying and actually knowing when I was ovulating.

I've heard that about lining too. Had a very heavy af this month, so here's hoping! 🤞

MMama18 · 01/05/2019 15:02

Hi @als! You become so sensitive to your body everything feels like a symptom doesn’t it! I’ve never had ov pain that I remember before, but this month I’m so aware of every little niggle that a sharp pain on my right side near mid cycle MUST be ov pain (let’s face it, it could have just been trapped wind! 😳)

@Rudy yes but DH is an old fogey at 31 😉 with an aversion to any green leafy foods! (I slipped kale in this mornings smoothie, he knows nothing about it 😂)

@Roo3 that’s the only down side, if no luck this month I could just be gearing myself up for the mother of all heavy AFs 😫

OP posts:
als2912 · 01/05/2019 15:32

@MMama18 yes definitely haha 😂 I downloaded the Ovia app too and that gave you so many options for symptoms that I just went stupidly click happy even if I had the slightest headache that was going down on the list 😂 I've just turned 24 so I know I've got lots of time but when you get the idea in your head you just want it to happen straight away!

eggy22 · 01/05/2019 15:37

Hi sorry hope it is okay to join in! Just started a thread on this only to find this thread right after.. (can I delete it, haha?)

I am TTC cycle 3 (post mmc at 10 weeks :( )

I think I ovd 24/25th of April @als2912 ov twins!

AF is due on the 9th

I've already wasted two tests at 5dpo and 6dpo (BFN of course) and really really trying to hold back until at least Monday... Pretty sure I felt ov pain mid cycle on the 25th but since then nothing. Not even PMS symptoms as of yet.

MMama18 · 01/05/2019 15:48

@als I’m 24 too, (22 when TTC DD) and everyone seems to just assume that because you’re young you’ll have no problem, but it’s not always that simple 😫☹️ I’m definitely a ‘I want it and I want it now’ kind of person, so patience is not my thing and the 2WW is just excruciating 😂

Hi @eggy sorry for your loss ☹️ I had two MCs before my DD arrived, 🤞 you get a nice sticky baby soon! I’m definitely a POAS addict but 5/6DPO really is too early so don’t be too discouraged, there’s still time! Implantation doesn’t happen until 6/7DPO at the earliest and then you need to give it time for HCG to build up. I wouldn’t test before 9DPO but even then that’s still early.

OP posts:
eggy22 · 01/05/2019 16:19

@MMama18 I'm 23 - I had thought it would be so easy at this age but its really not. My friend just had her baby so I'm cuddling him loads and its just making me want my own noooow.
God I know it is sooooo early but I have literally zero willpower... like none! I'm even tempted to test when I get home from work. Lesson learned is to never buy those bulk cheapies from Amazon.

My fingers are crossed for everyone - I've been reading through old threads and some are just so lucky! I hope we have a lucky one here x

als2912 · 01/05/2019 16:20

@eggy22 hi! woo OV twins! 😊 yeah no symptoms really for me too I guess we'll both just have to wait and see which is so hard!

@MMama18 yeah my sister in law keeps asking me when it's going to happen (I don't mind as we get on well) but it does add a small amount of extra pressure when you want it to happen just like that!

MMama18 · 01/05/2019 19:43

Lots of luck to all of us! 🍀

My CM is definitely back to sticky today so I’m hopeful that I ovulated when I think I did (29th) and we DTD 24th, 26th, 27th and 29th so feeling very hopeful! Evenings are the worst, DD is in bed and DH is xboxing and I’m left to my TTC crazy thoughts 😫

OP posts:
Abi58 · 01/05/2019 20:20

@RudyRoo glad this morning went ok!

@MMama18 I hadn't heard of pomegranate juice in that way I might give it a go seen as mine have always been so light as well (no idea what to expect after stopping the pill mind you!)

Had some really sharp pinching pains on my left side (not sure how to describe the area other than pubic region - front where hairs are but inside if that makes sense - so quite low) and then a sharp pain in my right hip that made me jump....now just more occasional pinching low down this evening.

I've been doing random opks as I have no idea where I am in my cycle, the last 3 days all have a faint line (almost identical day to day) I know that's still negative but every time I tried one before it's been blank negative.

Argghgg im going to drive myself mad!

MMama18 · 01/05/2019 20:37

@abi the pom juice can’t hurt! (I’m not saying it tastes great though 😂) It’s worth a try, I’d pretty much try anything!

Re: OPKs - they need to be done regularly, they’ll always detect a bit of hormone because it’s always present, what you’re looking for is the peak which can happen in a matter of hours. You’re best doing them at the same time every day, twice a day (morning and evening) if you can manage it.

Your pinching could be ov pains, I’m no expert but I’m sure I had them this month. They started low down like you describe, kind of like period pains. This lasted for most of the day, then the following day it moved to the right (exactly where I’d guess my ovary is) and was like a pinch/stitch/sharp stab. Really hard to describe but lasted until the evening then just vanished. This all coincided with EWCM that turned watery on the second day.

OR it could be implantation... I felt implantation with DD. It was a sudden pinch, just like someone had put their hand up and pinched me from the inside, it then kind of stung/ached for about 10 minutes and then nothing. Later in the day I had the slightest, palest line of pink after wiping and 5 days later I got a faint BFP 🤞🤞🤞🤞

OR it could be wind or any number of others things but TTC makes you think like that 😂😫 if only we had a little window (Tellytubby style!) so we could see what was going on!

OP posts:
Roo3125 · 01/05/2019 21:14

@Abi58 I second what @MMama18 has said. My peak came and went within a few hours! These are my OPKs on Monday. I find this 'premom' app pretty good at detecting the lines too :) I had a lot of ewcm alongside it too.

Anybody in their 2WW?
MMama18 · 02/05/2019 09:14

Any updates this morning ladies? Especially those with higher DPOs, I’m only on 3DPO 😫
