Is it me or does number 2 seem to take longer to conceive?

crazychemist what cycle day are you on? I actually hate the two week wait, feel more positive at the start of each cycle then it all goes downhill and the mind games begin Grin

Wrigleys123 · 23/06/2019 23:26

Good luck with your scan tomorrow mummy keeping everything crossed for you!

Chips4dinneragain · 24/06/2019 08:05

Good luck for today mummybear will be thinking of you.

Chips4dinneragain · 24/06/2019 08:07

Hang in there chemist, I always found the midpoint of the TWW really tough as you inevitably start to lose hope and feel like it's just prolonging the wait until you can try again. When are you going to test?

MummyBearBoo · 24/06/2019 08:12

Thanks guys xx

mundayn · 24/06/2019 08:34

MummyBearBoo · 24/06/2019 11:39

Everything normal on scan measuring big 12 weeks but I'm 11+3 baby was wriggling all over the place - NT was normal but gotta wait til Friday/Monday to get results some come on Wednesday but the 1 in 2 risk condition will be Fri/Mon!! Xx

Explorers10 · 24/06/2019 12:09

@MummyBearBoo that’s excellent news! Really pleased for you! Stay positive! I’ve got fingers crossed for all your other results! When did they say your due date would be? I’ve still got no symptoms at all. I think I’m 4+4 weeks.

Hi there wrigleys and chips. Strong positive opk was last Sunday (cd26). Now on cd34. I actually tested today... obvs a bfn as 14dpo won’t be for another 6 days, but I sort of made a deal with myself that if I did it today I wouldn’t do it again till Thursday! (Which will still only be 11dpo.... yes I’m feeling a bit nuts this cycle). I’m not sure why I’m quite so bonkers this time, I’ve been relatively calm about it up till this point I think.

Hey mummybear, glad the NT looked good! Fingers crossed all else comes back well later this week but at least you’ve got that one ruled out

Greetings mundayn

herewegoagain, what cycle day are you on? Do you know when you ov’d?

AndddddHerewegoagain · 24/06/2019 14:29

@crazychemist i only came off the pill 10 days ago but didn't have withdrawal bleed.

Definitely not pregnant though as not dtd since not taking the pill.

Just waiting for my first af and then i cam start tracking. It was so easy first time round- came off pill, had withdrawal bleed, had 1 normal af and then got pregnant.

Still losds of cramping so something is happening Confused

MummyBearBoo · 24/06/2019 15:19

Thanks everyone-technically @crazychemist down's isn't ruled out til the results on Wednesday but the consultant said she'd be very surprised if it did have downs as I have no risk factors they just test anyway coz they might as well while they've got a full sample of chromosomes!
@Explorers10 -based on my dating scan my EDD is 10th Jan but today baby measured 4 days further along?
fingers crossed for you @crazychemist
@Explorers10 - have you called the midwife yet coz I left it til I was 5 weeks then couldn't get an appointment for 4 weeks but I had to see another midwife as I had to be seen before that coz I needed a dating scan and CVS! Xx

Explorers10 · 24/06/2019 15:31

@MummyBearBoo That’s excellent news that the consultant said it’s unlikely have downs so pleased for you!

I had a phone call with the GP today, she was really pleased with the news. She wants me to go in for a blood test this week and in a few weeks time just to check the pregnancy is progressing fine as I told her about the spotting I had. She made the referral to the midwife today, can’t self refer in this area, have to go through GP.

OP posts:
MummyBearBoo · 24/06/2019 15:53

Thanks -that's good that the GP is doing your bloods and has referred you does that mean the midwife won't need to do blood tests at booking in? Xx

AndddddHerewegoagain · 24/06/2019 16:40

Glad to hear you both have had good news today @crazychemist @MummyBearBoo

Explorers10 · 24/06/2019 16:51

@MummyBearBoo I know from first pregnancy the midwife never did any blood tests just urine tests to detect sugar and gave me the pregnancy booklet and took weight and height and then gave me a sheet of all the antenatal classes

OP posts:
MummyBearBoo · 24/06/2019 16:56

Thanks @AndddddHerewegoagain -need to wait for my results before I can actually enjoy being pregnant tho coz I won't be able to keep the baby if it's affected by the genetic condition. 50% chance either way! Xx

MummyBearBoo · 24/06/2019 16:57

Also the CVS carries about a 1% miscarriage rate for 4 weeks after!! Xx

Explorers10 · 24/06/2019 18:41

@MummyBearBoo what happened at your first midwife appointment?

OP posts:
Explorers10 · 24/06/2019 19:58

@MummyBearBoo just looked at my notes from last pregnancy, they gave me a blood form which I had to take with me to do on my 1st 12 week scan at the hospital. Explains why the midwife didn’t do it last time

OP posts:
MummyBearBoo · 24/06/2019 23:02

@Explorers10 - she asked me a bunch of questions I had to give a urine sample and she took my bloods - I got booked in 3 times with my first coz we moved house twice!! They were all the same a big firm they go thru with you a big firm to fill in and they needed a urine and blood sample the only difference this time is that the form they fill in for you was all online instead of a paper copy! Xx

crazychemist · 25/06/2019 17:32

herewegoagain, when I came off the pill before DD I had a gap before my withdrawal bleed, and had cramping for a week before AF turned up properly. Presumably you’re still getting the hormones out of your system?

How are you feeeling today Mummybear? I’m sorry, I didn’t realise the risk was for 4 weeks.

You’ve just reminded me of my blood tests when I was expecting DD Grin. I had horrific morning sickness throughout, and I just couldn’t stop throwing up while they were trying to do the blood tests! Poor nurse, she had to get someone else to come in and hold that arm still while I was retching! —someone remind me why I want to go through that again—

Explorers10 · 25/06/2019 17:47

The blood tests are awful, I remember there being so many bottles they had to collect! I’m also dreading the labour, it was so painful last time! My DH said it should be quicker and just fall out next time, I hope so

@crazychemist -I'm ok so far waiting for a call re: my trisomy results and they might be able to tell me the gender today! The results due on Friday/Monday are the most nerve wracking ones!!
I read on the NHS website that the miscarriage risk from CVS is 2 weeks not 4 weeks like the consultant said! It also says they think a very small proportion are due to CVS as the test is usually done before 12 weeks they don't know how many would have miscarried anyway especially coz of the high probability of having chromosomal abnormalities hence the CVS test in the first place! It also says most miscarriages due to the procedure occur in the first 3 days i'm on day 2 today!! Xx
