Ah sorry to hear that bally good luck with the new job.

Good news about your appointment explorers, your GP doesn't sound particularly helpful so some specialist advice is clearly needed!

chemist are you feeling less stressed now? Is TTC back on the cards now DH has a job offer, or are you still parking it for a bit?

Explorers10 · 27/05/2019 20:15

@chips4dinneragain

Thanks for your reply, you are right my GPs have not been particularly helpful at all, saw a different one to the previous one. I’m just pleased I’ve not got long to wait as the appointment came through really quick so will I keep positive until I hear what the consultant has to say. My scan showed my uterus and ovaries were normal so I’m going to take that as good news. I did ask about being referred to endocrinologist but she said no point making two referrals. She said fertility clinic can make referral to other dept in the hospital if they need to. I suppose that’s a good thing as the clinic is on the main hospital site. How is pregnancy treating you? Hope you are well

Glad to hear you’re going to see a specialist explorers. Hope they are able to help you quickly! Massage and spa sounds like a lovely way to relax in the meantime Grin

Sorry to hear you’re stressed mummybear. Are you telling people in RL your situation, or keeping it private for now? Just hoping you have plenty of support while you’re waiting for your test.

Sorry to hear that bally. Best of luck with the new job, and all the best when you resume your ttc journey.

chips, ttc is back on I think. Still got AF at the moment, cd6, so not had to make a proper decision yet! The new job does mean it’s an option, but our financial situation is not going to be as good as I’d hoped, so things might be tricky later on. I’m going to have to think about my job at some point. But I don’t think it’s so bad that ttc is off the table.

Chips4dinneragain · 27/05/2019 21:41

Thanks explorers, I'm feeling pretty rough but it's starting to ease off now. That's really good news about your ovaries an uterus, I remember being disproportionately pleased when I had a scan in my 20s and the sonnographer said everything was as it should be! Is your appointment next week?

chemist great news, the POAS can continue then! Is your DH accepting that job or holding out for one of the others he applied for?

mummybear sorry I missed your post, bet it's hard to switch off from worrying given your history. Have you tried any mindfulness techniques? They aren't for everyone but can be helpful when the ruminating gets out of control, you can find some on YouTube.

Explorers10 · 27/05/2019 22:20

@crazychemist thank you, i always saw it as a negative requiring help but actually now I see it as a positive as just want some answers. Fingers crossed. I hope TTC is back on for you and that you find a way to manage. So stressful and difficult when things don’t go to plan and the way you want them to, I hope this is just a small setback for you.

@chips4dinneragain the appointment is 2 weeks today. I’m cycle day 12 so going to baby dance as much as I can over next few days and see if I have any luck. Hope the roughness goes away completely for you soon.

Everyone ok, ladies?

Chips, DH took the job, even thought it wasn’t ideal. The deadline on the others hasn’t even passed yet, so he couldn’t have waited really. I don’t think he’s looking forward to it much, but he’s putting a brave face on. In all honesty, I should be being more supportive than I am, but with preschool all up in the air I’m a bit preoccupied. At some point I need to work out whether I’m going to move schools myself, but that wouldn’t be sensible if we do have another DC.

In all honesty, my brain has been going round and round in circles wondering if I’m doing the right thing about anything! DH and I keep squabbling about things too. I’m just not at my best when I can’t plan in advance.

MummyBearBoo · 01/06/2019 08:16

@crazychemist -it's good your DH has job sorted tho- I've had to tel in laws coz they know as soon I don't have a glass of wine with my Sunday lunch!! My sisters know too I might need their support if it all goes wrong!! I'm not telling my parents til after the test ( my poor mum has been thru the test 4 times already my two sisters weren't tested for the condition til they were pregnant - they're both unaffected- and she's been through it twice with me previously!). @Chips4dinneragain - think I need to go back to the gym that de stresses me midwife said it's fine as long as I was going before which I was to reduce my stress from TTC and to lose weight ( lost 1st 12lbs in total so totally in middle of healthy range BMI now!) l'll take it easier than I normally would tho do less calories, normally burn 500 can't afford to do that. I'd can't eat much and I do lighter dumbells after cardio! xxx

Chips4dinneragain · 02/06/2019 09:01

I'm a planner too chemist and it is so frustrating when you're in limbo, my DH is the opposite and really laid back which makes me even more frustrated at times. accepting the unknown is really difficult, especially when you're TTC.

Wow mummybear I am impressed and shamed in equal measure that you are contemplating the gym! I got weighed at my booking in appointment this week and was mortified at the figure staring back at me!

nespresso have you got a scan date yet? I'm still waiting but midwife requested one asap as apparently based on the size of my bump she thinks I might be further along. Obviously I know I'm not, due the POAS obsession I'm relatively clear on dates, give or take a few days, but chose not to share the depths of my insanity with my healthcare professional!

MummyBearBoo · 02/06/2019 09:29

@Chips4dinneragain - it's only coz to take my mind off obsessing over TTC I decided I needed another focus and the only thing that took my mind off it was the gym coz the only thing I focus on there is getting thru to work out without dying!
Being a SAHM to a 3 year old the gym isn't also my only me time, the only thing I really do just for me.
Plus back in November my BMI was in the overweight part and I knew I needed to lose some weight to have a better chance of conceiving and to fit back into my size 8 clothes!! So I've lost 1st 12lbs and am back in the middle of healthy range BMI - only thing is I got to my goal weight and finally spent my birthday money I got in Jan on new clothes but now coz of water retention they don't all fit!
The gym is the only thing that keeps me sane you work out your stress on the machine then your body get flooded with endorphins so I feel so much happier after! Xx

crazychemist · 03/06/2019 19:44

Wow mummybear, I’m really impressed at you making it to the gym. I can see your point about having some “you” time though. That’s the one thing I really miss about not being a mum.

Faint positive on an OPK today, so getting ready for the next round of ttc! Trying hard not to count how many cycles it’s been. DH and I had a pretty tough conversation about finances, which wasn’t fun. We also told my parents about DHs job, they weren’t massively impressed and are also quite concerned about our finances. So a great start to the week....!

On the bright side my garden looks lovely smile

Anyone got any good tips for loosing weight? Seems like several of you have managed it, and I should probably give it a go. I’ve never been on a diet so I’m not quite sure how to go about it without obsessing

MummyBearBoo · 04/06/2019 15:51

I didn't do a diet exactly I signed up the My Fitness Pal app set my calorie goal to 1340 per day which was to lose 1lb a week. I just made small changes and still ate what I wanted but less of it -no snacks, sweets or seconds I was hungry at first but eventually your appetite reduces- I don't have much bread just 1slice of toast only if I have toast and I have wraps rather than two slices of bread for a sandwich but don't cut out any major food groups coz as soon as you start eating them again weight will pile back on also brown pasta and rice are more filling and I needed something I could stick to so just reduced my portion sizes! Coz of morning sickness and not drinking I've now lost 2st 2lbs and actually my BMI is 21.5 which is nearer the lower end of healthy range so I need to not lose any more weight!! We still had takeaway curries occasionally but I'd eat half of mine and actually I felt much more comfortable coz I used to be too full eating a full rice and full curry! Xx

Chips4dinneragain · 06/06/2019 09:33

chemist breast feeding is the only way I've ever managed it! Fingers crossed it works again this time....

I had my scan the other day and the mystery of the BFP at 4DPO is now solved, my confirmed dates mean conception occurred around CD8, a mere 2 days after my period finished, and despite taking 2 OPKS a day from CD7 they didn't catch the surge (which arguably might have occurred while I was still on my period).

MummyBearBoo · 07/06/2019 17:10

So how far along are you actually then @Chips4dinneragain? Xx

crazychemist · 08/06/2019 17:35

Wow, that’s an early ovulation chips!

I had a positive OPK yesterday (cd17), although it took a long time to come up. Fainter today, even though yesterday’s wasn’t as strong as the control line. Makes me worry a little bit.... no sign of EWCM yet. Wish me luck, ladies!

Chips4dinneragain · 09/06/2019 16:14

13 weeks tomorrow mummybear. Good luck for Tuesday, will be thinking of you.

Yeah it is early isn't it chemist, I'm wondering if the B6 had something to do with it as I had read about it bringing ovulation forward. Good luck for your two week wait, are you feeling optimistic?

MummyBearBoo · 10/06/2019 18:28

Wow my weeks seem to be dragging 9 weeks today - but can't believe you're at 13 weeks already @Chips4dinneragain -fingers crossed for you this month @crazychemist xx

MummyBearBoo · 11/06/2019 11:43

So had my dating scan today -everything was fine I'm 9+4 so 3 days more than I thought! Baby was wriggling around all over the place and had a strong heartbeat so will have to wait and see what the CVS shows on 24th to see if it's ok or not! Fingers crossed! Xx

crazychemist · 11/06/2019 17:12

Glad to hear the scan went well MummyBear. Fingers crossed for your CVS next month!

Wow Chips, that's flown by!

I'm not feeling too hopeful this month. That's probably a good thing as that way I won't feel too disappointed when AF shows up. OPK wasn't as strong as control line and i only had the 1 positive, and no EWCM this cycle, and I normally get some ovulation twinges and didn't feel any at all. So probably an anovulatory cycle. Roll on next month......

MummyBearBoo · 11/06/2019 18:10

@crazychemist -I didn't think April worked for us coz I had no positive OPK and the strongest line I got was on Easter Monday - turns out we conceived on Good Friday!! Just less than 2 weeks to wait til CVS I think results take about 4 days! Xx

Chips4dinneragain · 11/06/2019 20:54

Crossing everything for you mummybear, I imagine you'll be at the gym a fair bit over the next two weeks! really glad all went well today, hope you are managing to stay positive.

You never know chemist, hope you are proven wrong! Clearly OPKs didn't work for me and the month I got my BFP I didn't have my usual twinges that I thought indicated ovulation.

explorers how did your appointment with the specialist go yesterday?

Explorers10 · 11/06/2019 21:56

@chips4dinneragain

Thanks for thinking of me. The consultant thinks I do have pcos even though my scan was normal and that when I conceived first time round I probably had it without realising. He said with pcos you sometimes get annovulating cycles and thinks that’s what’s happening. He has prescribed me clomid for next 6 months to help with ovulation and he said I need to come back for a scan to see if it is working. He said the good thing about pcos infertility it’s treatable so I’m going to try and be positive. I am nervous about using clomid though.

OP posts:
crazychemist · 12/06/2019 07:08

Hey explorers, that sounds promising! Lots of people seem to have great success with clomid. What makes you nervous about it?

Explorers10 · 12/06/2019 08:18

@crazychemist

I think because I conceived so easily first time round I’m finding it hard to accept the diagnosis and having to use a fertility drug to help. Just worried about whether when I go for the scan it will produce the right amount of follicles or too many. Also the risk of using it can lead to ovary cancer? I’m just overthinking everything!

My AF is due on tues when is yours due? I was thinking if we got pregnant we would be due around end of feb which I found out next year is a leap year!!

OP posts:
Explorers10 · 12/06/2019 08:18

Also worried about the side effects of the drug: mood swings, hot flushes etc. Need to stop worrying!

OP posts:
MummyBearBoo · 12/06/2019 09:49

I have PCOS too I have regular periods but my cycles were 42 days instead of 28!!

A lot of the side effects of PCOS can be helped by diet too cutting down on sugar coz it causes insulin resistance and switching to brown pasta and rice help -mine has always been unmedicated and doesn't really cause many problems I did put 2 stone on last year but I've since lost 2stone 2lbs so its not like it was PCOS alone that caused my weight gain
It also doesn't mean your fertility is reduced exactly, I've conceived 4 times in 4 years and before my DD I didn't have a period for 6 months then had 1 then got pregnant!
Hope clomid works out for you I've heard it has wired for a lot of people good luck xxx
