Is it me or does number 2 seem to take longer to conceive?

Hi @saltandvinegar1 thank you. I got my BFP on Thursday, I think about 11 DPO I think? I'm not entirely sure but it was 5 days before AF. My cycles are 25 days. Got positive OPK 5th and 6th May. How about you? I was losing will to live! The only thing we did differently this month was take preconception vitamins!

saltandvinegar1 · 19/05/2019 20:13

@nespressowoo ah wow
I got mine at 9dpo which was last Friday. The online estimator is giving me the due date of 23rd January x

saltandvinegar1 · 19/05/2019 20:13

@Ballygowenwater ah thank you xx haven't at the moment hasn't really sunk in yet. Hope everyone else gets their bfp super soon xxx

crazychemist · 20/05/2019 07:56

Congrats saltandpepper! Glad to hear your news, I remember you from the Goldendust days.

Sorry to hear about your confusing cycle bally. Was everything else normal about this cycle, timing Wise?

DH applied for a couple of jobs over the weekend. He’s only told his DMum about his job situation, which leaves me feeling a bit isolated as I can only worry in here! God knows what we’re going to do about preschool, he says we should go ahead with where we had planned, but he’s applying for jobs that are all in completely different places.... the most likely thing at the moment is that we would both be commuting, but then I have no idea how we’d do drop off/pick up! Doing my head in. AF due this time next week and I have no idea what I should be hoping for.

Chips4dinneragain · 20/05/2019 16:21

I guess until he know where he is working there isn't much point in changing preschools chemist. very frustrating to be stuck in limbo but whatever option you pick now will be an unknown, at least this way DD is going into a good preschool until you have the facts necessary to make a change. I guess the difficulty is preschools getting full up/having waiting lists which makes it much more stressful.

bally do you temp or use OPKs? If not then I guess there is a possibility that you ovulate late in your cycle in which case it might potentially be too early to get a positive result. Only time will tell I suppose, such a lot of guess work involved in TTC.

crazychemist · 20/05/2019 17:16

chips I’m actually feeling a little bit more relaxed about it than I was - our local preschool has apparently had a couple of cancellations. It has an early drop off of 7am if necessary, so wherever DH gets a job he should be able to do drop off on his way out (it’s still too late for me! I leave EARLY) providing I could guarantee I’d get out of work early enough to do pick up by 5.30 (tricky, but probably possible, and it’s also close to my parents so they might be ok to do the odd pick-up). DH has his first interview this Wednesday, but it’s the job he was least keen on.... I was feeling really quite shit last week but it looks a bit less worrying now! Still not a great idea to ttc though.... I didn’t think I’d be comforted by the fact that AF seems pretty likely to turn up based on past experience!

Everything is so much more complicated when you have kids!

DD has decided today is the best day to be ill. She’s been asleep on the sofa for the last 4 hours. Gave me quite a scare this morning, I phoned the doctor because when she woke up she seemed completely fine except that she couldn’t walk! She’d just scream whenever she tried to put weight on her feet. I phoned her GP and they said to bring her straight in (felt bad when we walked straight through a PACKED waiting room) and gave her a thorough check. Apparently it’s just a virus, but the glands in her groin are so swollen they’re pressing on nerves/tendons. Amazing really, she has no other symptoms other than a slight cough! I was very impressed by the very thorough check they gave her though, they took it very seriously. Treatment is just calpol and cuddles Grin. And maybe a Disney film or two when she wakes up.

MummyBearBoo · 20/05/2019 20:18

I think my DD is 12 Jan my midwife had put it at 27 Dec coz I have stupid crazy long cycles!! I have morning sickness in the evening or when I rush around doing stuff! I have sore boobs and cramping and I'm so struggling to eat but I have to force myself too or I get bad rib pain and I feel like I could sleep for days! But this is still not as bad as my last first trimester but worse than my first! I therefore think it's a boy I was fine with DD but little boy which ended at 12 weeks TFMR was awful!! I'll find out at 11 weeks all being well coz they can tell me after the CVS coz they'll know from chromosomes whether it's XX or XY! Hope he's a healthy sticky one this time! Good luck to all! X

saltandvinegar1 · 20/05/2019 21:44

@crazychemist thank you hun xx

saltandvinegar1 · 20/05/2019 21:46

Hope you're all well today. I went to the gp to get the ball rolling. They said I was 5 weeks +2
When's everyone's due dates on here expecting.
Baby dust to those who are waiting for their bfp! I pray you get it super soon x

MummyBearBoo · 20/05/2019 23:04

By DD this meant EDD l!

Chips4dinneragain · 21/05/2019 16:06

That's good news chemist, sounds like it would work with both your schedules. And sounding positive jobs wise, is your DH feeling positive about any of them or is it more a case of would just take them out of necessity?

Hope your DD is better today, that sounds terrifying. A sick child is the last thing you need when life is stressful!

Chips4dinneragain · 21/05/2019 16:10

mummyber when is your 11 week CVS? Thanks for the tip about getting booked in before 10 weeks, I rang the midwives and they hadn't received the referral from my GP, pretty frustrating as the surgery was adamant I couldn't self refer but thats actually what I've ended up doing now! Got my booking in appointment next weds by which point I'll be 10+4, the midwives said it wasn't ideal so they will be even more annoyed when I tell them that because I got a BFP on CD16 I am probably further along than that in reality. Oops.

MummyBearBoo · 21/05/2019 19:03

Oops! It's not your fault tho if the GP messed up @Chips4dinneragain -well my dating scan is 11 June so I'll get an actual date then but I expect it to be 2 weeks after that so around end of June it will be really hard if it's bad news coz it's around the same time (29th June day before my wedding anniversary) my little boy should have been born last year 😢! Xx

crazychemist · 22/05/2019 06:51

Ah chips that’s annoying. I bet the midwife won’t mind though. My DD is a late September birthday, which is a big spike for baby births so we ended up doing a lot of things late because they were so busy. We didn’t have her 12 week scan until 1 day before 14 weeks, which is meant to be the absolute limit for the latest they do it.

mummybear that’s really tough with the timing Flowers Fingers crossed it’ll be fine, there’s no reason to think it isn’t this time. Will you do anything to mark the due date, or would you prefer not to? I hope you can have someone with you to support you on the day.

MummyBearBoo · 22/05/2019 15:53

I did something last year when it was his due date but i feel like time has helped heal and I don't think you get over it exactly but you move past it so I don't think I need to this year -its just annoying that it's before my anniversary so I remember the date easily - it's on s Saturday this year and we're taking DD to see We're going on a Bear Hunt at the Theatre then going out for a meal with DH for our anniversary! Xx

crazychemist · 22/05/2019 17:52

That sounds like a nice plan mummybear. I’m glad that you feel okish about the date. I’m sure when you’re holding your little rainbow baby that will help too.

Still feeling really shit today. I’ve held it together at work, but once again I’m feeling a bit of a mess on the train home. Really nervous about DHs interview today. Bit silly really, unless it was totally awful and they said no outright hw don’t know the result today. I know I’m going to run straight to the phone and check for messages when I get home, but even if there is one it’d be too late for him to call back before tomorrow anyway.....

AF showed up today, several days ahead of when I was expecting. Wish my cycles would sort themselves out! Makes me worry I might have a short luteal phase. Stupid cow that I am I was feeling a little bit hopeful last night as I just had a few spots and I thought spotting on day 23 might be implantation bleeding and maybe we’d been lucky with things after all.... then I was feeling a bit panicky that I might be pregnant when DH might be out of work in September.... but then it’s too heavy to be anything but AF today. So..... yay? Boo? My brain feels like a pinball machine.

Ballygowenwater · 22/05/2019 18:10

Still not sign of either AF or a positive pregnancy test. 5 days late. Getting annoyed now

Yorkshiredolls · 22/05/2019 19:24

hello fairly new here, sneaked in a couple of weeks ago ☺️ CD 17 of my first month TTC no.2. glow reckons Ov on saturday, so could do to squeeze in DtD tonight and friday/saturday. I don’t massively feel like it though! neither of us have huge sex drives and usually happy with once a week and we’re over our usual quota already lol. how do you guys get yourself in the zone?

Chips4dinneragain · 22/05/2019 20:29

Fingers crossed your DH gets some good news chemist, and sorry to hear about AF, impossible to totally let go of that hope even when circumstances aren't great. Is 7 days early unusual for you?

Ahhh bally how frustrating for you, that bit of time waiting for AF is the worst, particularly when she is dragging her feet.

mummybear I bet end of June feels like a lifetime away, particularly during those two weeks following the scan.

MummyBearBoo · 22/05/2019 20:32

Welcome @Yorkshiredolls Well wine worked for me - I know you're not supposed to drink when you're trying but they have a food sac til 10 weeks so I only went zero alcohol once I got BFP though I didn't drink loads anyway!
@crazychemist - fingers crossed for your DH interview and I really hope you feel better soon sorry AF came but like you say once DH gets another job it may be better then also it's good about the pre-school xxx

crazychemist · 24/05/2019 17:03

Welcome Yorkshire Smile. If you’re not in the mood but sort of get started, do you get swept up in it, or is it really hard work if you’re not feeling that way inclined at the start? Maybe a romantic film that’s a little bit sexy might help a bit?

Still waiting, bally? Hope you’ve had some change one way or another.

Good news - DH has a job for September! In many ways it’s not as good as his current post, and I’m a little bit worried because we are going to be financial worse off and that may have some implications in the long term, but at least it’s not a complete disaster! Chips, it’s not usual for me to be that early, although I’m a bit irregular I’m almost never less than 28, and based on OPKs till about day 15, so AF Only a week and a day after OV. Not normal for me at all, but on the other hand I know my cycle gets out of whack if I’m stressed and this week has been really difficult in lots of different ways! Not knowing what will happen with DH job/DD preschool was tough, especially as DH didn’t want me to tell anyone until he had something lined up. We also have some friends who are kind of imploding mental health wise, I’m looking after one of them on my days at home with DD.

Alas, I can’t help but count, and work out that next OV is likely to be when DH and I are both likely to be totally snowed under marking end of year exams and writing reports! Damn!

Grump grump grump periods are particularly annoying when you want to be pregnant! Stupid cramps.

Explorer, have you had your GP appointment to follow up your last apppoinrment yet? I think you were hoping for some advice.

Explorers10 · 24/05/2019 17:50

Sorry for the quietness. I went to GP and she just referred me straight to fertility clinic. Didn’t explain any of the results & just was straight and to the point about referring me so they can give me some advice. Got my letter through and seeing fertility clinic in 2 weeks so not a long wait. I’ve started to feel less down which is a good thing & kept myself busy with places to go in the nice weather. Will keep trying each month and feel positive step forward with seeing someone. Hopefully they give me something for testesterone or explain what it is if it isn’t pcos or maybe I have a mild case of it. Just really hope I can have baby number 2! Been so worked up the past couple of months, couldnt have been helping anything

MummyBearBoo · 25/05/2019 09:37

I'm gonna have to try and get some kind of pregnancy friendly massage in the next few weeks I know stress isn't good for the baby but I am totally stressing out about the 11 week test which will be end of June I think and the days are just dragging- I hate just not knowing if I'll still be pregnant later in the year or not!!! Xxx

Ballygowenwater · 25/05/2019 23:05

Period finally came. I’m bowing out of this now for a few months, prob till the new year as I am having to change jobs and need I my feet under the table a bit before anything happens in the baby department. Good luck to you all. 😘
