What is SI please?

Not sure yet with all the abbreviations 😂

Does everyone think that the vitamins etc are worth a try? I'm only taking folic acid at the moment.
X

BabySquid · 28/02/2019 08:32

@Lottiepink they're Soy Isoflavones, meant to help strengthen/ release more eggs. But not to be used lightly, they're like clomid which drs can give you when you've been trying over a year.
@aimingfor2019 I think people generally don't want people to know if they were trying for a long time, but if people got caught on quickly they like to talk about it as they're lucky. I wouldn't worry too much about it just yet there are so many contributing factors when ttc, not just DTD at the right time.

PeacockingAbout · 28/02/2019 08:40

@Lottiepink with 11 cycles, You'd be able to book the Drs for next month at least. Well done on your weight loss. SI are Soy Isoflavones, thought to help conception as they mimic oestrogen - @starkid tried them last month. I'm taking just about every vitamin going, twice - hoping it will make me feel better if nothing else!

Thanks @DayDreamer1707, chilled is the way to go

@orangeloo I feel your pain, just want AF to come so she can go!

@Hannah192 sorry for the BFN, FX AF hurries up if she's coming, but you're not out til she does.

@KatBeCool not such fun symptoms this time then! Does, ahem, not orally tend to minimise symptoms? I doubt DH minds too much though, and you are on the inside with it - it's worse for you! Is the progesterone what is behind PMS in that case? (sorry, using you as my fertility info Oracle, tell me to bugger off!) So hoping this works for you x

@LokiCat good luck!

@Bec18x wow 123 days, how did you stay sane! Hope the fertility appt gets you some support.

Welcome @Soda123x - it's a pain when the apps aren't clear. Good luck

Welcome @aimingfor2019 its disheartening when everyone else you know gets pregnant by looking intently at their DH! But you're right, a lot of it will be that people only mention it when its quick. Some of my friends have been really shocked and needed to process it, they basically wanted a baby 'in the next 6 months' not 'now' and were a bit Shock

No AF this morning so she's officially late, but BFN on an IC this morning. Just want her to hurry up so I can move on, and the cramps will bugger off, pre AF are worse than once she's arrived! I've had more cramps for longer than normal this time, hope it's not a sign of things to come Confused.

Do all of you ladies get spotting before AF? I don't think I've ever spotted, I just get really cross for three days.

Lozzlepop · 28/02/2019 08:47

Hello @Lottiepink

@DayDreamer1707 glad you are feeling in a good headspace lovely, last push of Fit Feb today and I am feeling really sore 😬 I'm CD9 so need to start DTD and getting the old OPKs out again! Think the good weather has improved my mood no end!

@OhMarnie how are you? I am not getting notifications either - very strange!

@Soda123x @aimingfor2019 hi and welcome to the thread 👋🏻

@granddesigns good luck for tonight, looking forward to hearing how it goes.

Hope everyone is doing good today!

starkid · 28/02/2019 09:08

@KatBeCool - sorry the progesterone are having such negative affects :(
@BabySquid - ah let us know what the docs say about them, I just took them without talking to the doc but definitely best to talk to them and see what's best for you xx

Lottiepink · 28/02/2019 09:13

Thanks @PeacockingAbout, I don't know whether to go to the doctors just yet or not. Even though it's been 11 cycles, and we are fully on with ttc, we haven't got to a point where we are stressing yet, we said from the start we would try and stay relaxed about it for as long as possible and I think if we go to the docs it might start the pressure element. But that being said, we don't know if we have issues or not.
I'm worked up about going also as I know the first thing they will say is I need to lose more weight 🙄🤣 which as I say I am trying to do but it's a slow process...
I might have 2 more months on the diet and then go.. it's so hard isn't it! As if there are issues we could just be lengthening the whole process...

Lottiepink · 28/02/2019 09:14

Will have a look into the SI also thanks...

And think I'll explore other vitamins too...

@PeacockingAbout what cycle are you on?

orangeloo · 28/02/2019 09:50

@Hannah192 sorry for the bfn.

@Soda123x and @aimingfor2019 welcome and good luck! this thread has really helped me, it's so good to spk with people in the same boat as you.

@granddesigns trash kitten has the stats and is great I'm sure she will update.

@Lottiepink folic acid and vitamin d are the essentials to take. I also take evening primrose as have heard good things. of course there are lots of supps out there and that may help, brand names you are paying for just that but also convenient to take just one tablet. Worth doing a bit of research and finding out what's right for you.

@PeacockingAbout I think everyone's different when it comes to spotting- I have v light spotting for a week prior which isn't 'normal' had investigations last year and found nothing untoward it's just 'me'. Also cycles change as we change and age etc.

PeacockingAbout · 28/02/2019 10:36

@Lottiepink you've done an amazing job of staying relaxed! I'm a stress ball at the best of times. Waiting to start cycle 4 officially, we were 'not trying' (ie just unprotected and not avoiding any times, but not looking for ovulation) for 2 months before we started 'trying'. Been waiting for the right time with work and houses to try for well over 2 years so I'm quite done with not having a baby now!

Vitamin wise, I think Vitamin D and Folic acid are the main ones, I've gone totally overkill with a pregnancy multi-vit in the morning, then separate Vit D, Magnesium, Calcium, B12, Iron, vitamin C and folic acid in the evening.

It might be worth the Drs, as it might then need more time for a referral afterwards etc and could add another few months. Can't hurt!

KatBeCool · 28/02/2019 10:44

Welcome all the new comers!

@orangeloo @Lottiepink one thing I know and evening primrose oil is that you take it until you ovulate and not all time.

@PeacockingAbout yes, not orally does remove all the negative symptoms since it doesn't really get into your blood. Sounds like either lack of progesterone or its elevated presence is responsible for a lot pms symptoms other than the cramps. Of course it varies for everyone just to make it more helpful.

I get spotting before af for only a few hours, rarely more than eight. Usually comes with a temp drop that morning.

Hannah192 · 28/02/2019 10:58

@PeacockingAbout sounds like we are in a similar waiting position. Sorry to hear you got a BFN. FX AF comes soon if she’s on her way. Hopefully the cramps will calm down a bit. I don’t get any spotting either.
@aimingfor2019 exactly. There are lots of people who take longer. 😂 agreed. It’s nice to be able to talk to people in the same boat and have a moan when needed!

Hannah192 · 28/02/2019 13:02

AF has arrived 🙄 onto cycle 3

DayDreamer1707 · 28/02/2019 13:52

@PeacockingAbout I know I hate the TWW, I feel so in control to begin and then I just lose it rapidly ha. I get spotting but didn't last cycle. Any sign of AF yet?

@Lozzlepop I will be continue the Fit Feb through into March. I fell off the band wagon when AF arrived but certainly back on it, currently eating grapes and pineapple. Been for walks with the OH before our tea the past few night and attempting the gym tonight. We have started the deed doing last night and just entering our fertile week. This weather feels like it's been a tease though...don't want it to go.

@Hannah192 sorry AF has arrived x

orangeloo · 28/02/2019 15:19

@KatBeCool omg thank you. I feel like the biggest idiot 🙈 only taken it all cycle!! N now feel very crappy that I could well have ruined my own chances. 😫 What a div am I! This cycle is longer too and I've read about that. Hmmm 🤔 something for me to think about.

LuckyPenguin · 28/02/2019 16:29

Afternoon all!

Update from my disastrous half term - bath issue sorted, skirting board & ceiling repaired, car battery replaced, wing mirror fixed, lunch with my friend rearranged. I survive to tell the tale & can now actually laugh about it.

Spent my morning reading 'the subtle art of no giving a f*%$' its interesting - love a good self help book!

My basal thermometer and OPKs arrived today and AF has finally left, so I'm gearing up for the fertile week. Trying SMEP this month. Husbands face was a picture when I told him 🤣🤣 if only we didn't have to work as well as all this!

@DayDreamer1707 - after reading about it I'm going to give SMEP a go this cycle 👌🏼

@KatBeCool - I wonder why the difference is so vast? Are the pregnacare ones to continue through the pregnancy?

@Lottiepink - Hiya! I use Glow app, which I like. I'm 5ft 3 and 14 stone (size 16). I know I'll be told to lose weight, but people bigger than me seem to conceive no problem?

@19Bee2 - this really is a bizarre journey! I hate that I cant control it! 😫

@EssJayyCee - I had weird feelings near my belly button last cycle. Hope yours are positive symptoms! I'm starting to think my body likes to play around with me!! I also currently still have lower back pain and AF has eased today (CD4 - which is the norm for me!)

@BabySquid - my periods are similar - 3/4 days, ridiculously heavy & clot filled originally, then nothing. One month early isn't going to harm. If it's anything like my Doctors's, might take you that long to get an appt! 🤣

@Bec18x - I can't help with your ovulation...But...sending you lots and lots of baby dust for this cycle!

@Hannah192 - I'm using OPKs this month & temping 😬 gutted for you that AF arrived

@Soda123x - hiya! I did that for my first month then joined the OPK club as obsession kicked in!

@aimingfor2019 - welcome! I feel the same! 3rd cycle for me. How the hell people fall pregnant by accident il never know!! I'm cycle 3 day 4 I'm 34 and panicking s 35 in July!

@PeacockingAbout - I don't spot, but occasionally have blood when I wipe the evening before AF comes. She usually arrives over night, like clockwork.

KatBeCool · 28/02/2019 16:41

@LuckyPenguin I'm guessing different manufacturers decide differently on what's necessary. Pregnacare has vitamins for TTC, pregnancy, and even breastfeeding. I haven't looked at the differences.

Hannah192 · 28/02/2019 16:41

@DayDreamer1707 thank you. What cycle/cd are you on at the moment?

@LuckyPenguin thank you. After the 2 BFN I did think it was a matter of time until she showed. I hope the OPKs & tempings works for you. Is this your first cycle doing them? I’ve just ordered Amazon cheapy OPKs ready for this cycle. I haven’t used them before so hopefully they will help get a better idea of ovulation date. I’ll also try and wait longer until I test if I’m late in this cycle 🙈

LuckyPenguin · 28/02/2019 16:59

@KatBeCool - I guess so? Just odd!

@Hannah192 - I did the OPKs last cycle & found out I ovulated 2 days later than the app predicted. First month with the thermometer!

Hannah192 · 28/02/2019 17:46

@LuckyPenguin Ahh ok, it’s worth doing the tests then so at least you know. Hope you get on well with the thermometer!

Lottiepink · 28/02/2019 18:36

The opks and bbt are definitely best for finding ov.. I was using a free app for the first 5 months and my date was wrong, I usually ov later than it said by a few days, which obviously makes a massive difference, and I'm in a 28 day cycle the majority of the time. It's made me realise the twinges I get around that time also, which confirms it further.

Bought some vitamin D today 😊

How do you all manage to remember all the names etc to tag your replies to? I'm hopeless 🤣

BostonFern · 28/02/2019 18:48

@Bec18x good luck with your appointment.

@LokiCat 🤞 that dream comes true!

Welcome @Soda123x and @aimingfor2019 👋🏻

@PeacockingAbout I very, very rarely get spotting- AF just shows up, causes havoc for a few days and then goes again.

Sorry AF arrived @Hannah192

Oh no @LuckyPenguin! Try to enjoy what's left of it!

AF almost gone, CD4. Will be starting OPKs again in the next few days. Not sure whether to try BBT too, may give it another cycle and see.

PeacockingAbout · 28/02/2019 19:42

@DayDreamer1707 The TWW is insane. I'm all rational until 5DPO then boom, madwoman. AF has finally shown up. CD1, C4 - let's go!

@KatBeCool thanks for the tip, I'll bear that in mind! I just love how everything is 'either lots, or not enough, of this causes this thing, which may or may not happen, at some point in a 7 day period' with TTC. Really helpful Hmm

@Hannah192 I think we're at the exact same point as AF arrived this afternoon. Woo CD1!

@Lozzlepop & @DayDreamer1707 you're so good with the Fit Feb. I need to follow your lead....!

@LuckyPenguin, glad to hear you survived- you had a hell of a half term!! I've seen that title before - do you recomend? I do suffer terribly from giving too much of a fuck.

@Lottiepink - I have 2 tabs open on my phone, one to read and one to reply, and copy the names over, which I do think is a bit odd tbh. In my defence, I have a long commute on the tube to occupy myself on.

Good luck @BostonFern!

Thanks all for reassuring me on spotting. It's not the the kind of conversation you open over dinner and I'd not come across it before, wasn't sure if it was just me. But another of those things where most options are normal!

Relieved that AF is here and I can start the next cycle. Going to order a BBT thermometer and try OPKs again - didn't crack them last month and while we're DTD every 2 days to be sure, that does get a bit less regular after my Ovia FW ends, so need to try and figure out ovulation as a lot of you ladies are ovulating much later than you thought and I might be too!

Today is a day for carbs and Netflix Chez Peacock. Roll on Friday!

DayDreamer1707 · 28/02/2019 20:01

@PeacockingAbout sorry AF has come but always best to brush it off and crack on. Let's start a new fitness thing for March??

@Hannah192 I'm on cycle 5 but 2nd official one trying since MMC. I'm currently on CD7.

@LuckyPenguin my OH loves the idea of SMEP think it's something positive for him after AF. But it gives you a fee that you have some form of control x

TrashKitten10 · 28/02/2019 20:36

Welcome @Soda123x and @aimingfor2019. Great to see you back @19Bee2! You joined the thread at the same time as me on the same cycle, same age and same job so I consider you my TTC thread twin ☺️

I'm feeling better after a couple of days of a horrible headaches and tiredness. 11dpo, still no symptoms so waiting for AF this weekend.

I'll try to keep regularly updating the list so if I ever disappear you can all easily find it :) Let me know if your stats need updating.
