Hi everyone, so am now officially on cycle 7, after only spotting yesterday it's full steam ahead today :(

Looking forward to my soy iso's hopefully making me productive this weekend at least!

Good luck to those getting ready to test in the next few days xx

LuckyPenguin · 27/02/2019 09:43

@TrashKitten10 - thanks for starting a new thread! I'm pleased I found it! I wondered why it was so quiet last night 🤣 also Checked my stats - Im cycle 3 😔

@DayDreamer1707 - what is SMEP?

@mrsawhite - welcome 😊

I'm totally baffled this morning. (This is also way TMI!) Period was a day late, experienced no cramping at all before or during. It started Monday, medium flow one stringy clot originally, Tampon this morning was near on dry. Feel really bloated. 🤷🏻‍♀️

MrsMcNtobe · 27/02/2019 09:44

Hi girls! Sorry still MIA decorating my new house! Last time I checked in I’d randomly done an OPK as I was sure I hadn’t ovulated and I got my positive so we had DTD the night before and then on the day of the positive so fingers crossed. That was me ovulating nearly a week late 🤔 and puts me at around 6dpo. Thankfully I’ve been busy and not really symptom spotting. I’m really dry down there though and I had a couple of random drops of blood come out my nose on Monday 🙈 hope everyone is well! Xx

PinkFizz19 · 27/02/2019 10:12

Morning ladies, thank you @TrashKitten10 for the new thread and for the tag Smile

I hope everyone is ok. Sending love and hugs to those who aren't.

I had a lovely dream last night, I got my BFP and then it loves on to our baby being here. He/she was so beautiful. Woke up and told DP about my dream, he asked surprisingly was I testing following my dream and me having achey/sore boobs for nearly a week. AF due tomorrow but i thought why not..I had a FRER in. Took test with FMU 14dpo and was BFN Sad still having hope until AF arrives but just makes me sad knowing we'd BD loads around O this month and really hoped it had worked.

KatBeCool · 27/02/2019 10:45

@mrsawhite welcome.

@LuckyPenguin period duration doesn't matter as much. As long as enough came out, you're fine.

@starkid you speak of isoflavones as if it's crack 😂. Do we need an intervention?

starkid · 27/02/2019 10:52

@KatBeCool - 😂😂 honestly, when I was on them I understood why people took drugs recreationally haha! If they make me more likely to do loads of energetic cleaning on Saturday then why not. Might as well until May :P
How are you doing anyway?

starkid · 27/02/2019 10:53

@PinkFizz19 - sorry for bfn, especially after such a nice dream :( still hope yet though as you said

LuckyPenguin · 27/02/2019 11:08

Thanks @KatBeCool - I just didn't want it to fudge up my next cycle!!! 😫

starkid · 27/02/2019 11:12

@KatBeCool - that's really interesting about the low progesterone. I've only got it this bad since coming off the pill, before I barely noticed/had none, now they're sore for a whole week beforehand! Hmm... definitely food for thought.
TTC is such a minefield of hormones!

KatBeCool · 27/02/2019 11:21

@starkid I wish estrogen made me as productive as you! What did I get? Uncontrollable laughing. With your isoflavones, consider taking extra vitamin B6 and/or eat some (lots of) yams, after you ovulate. B6 helps breaking down oestrogen, and yams increase progesterone.
I'm ok, starting to get worried as it's progressing in the LP. 8dpo today. I can take Clomid only for a few months so it has to work.

starkid · 27/02/2019 11:24

@KatBeCool - I'm taking seven seas trying for a baby tablets as well, which have vitamin D, B12, B6, folic acid, biotin, zinc and iron, so hopefully that;s enough! Only 1.4mg of B6 though, so not sure if should be taking more...
Ooh, you're at the exciting/nerve-wracking part of the cycle! All my fx for you xx

KatBeCool · 27/02/2019 11:25

@LuckyPenguin two tablespoons of blood (two soaked tampons, sorry for the imagery), that's all you need to consider your period still within a norm.

DayDreamer1707 · 27/02/2019 11:28

@LuckyPenguin it means Sperm Meets Egg Plan. It was originally created for women who knew they could get pregnant (had suffered a MC) but now many women use it to ensure they have covered all basis. Here's a link - spermmeetseggplan.com/smep-step-by-step/

KatBeCool · 27/02/2019 11:33

@starkid 1.4 mg is quite low. Pregnacare pre-conception has 10. Wonder why such difference.

Lozzlepop · 27/02/2019 11:37

@starkid sorry to hear AF is here!

@PinkFizz19 not out until AF hun, fingers crossed for you.

starkid · 27/02/2019 12:25

@KatBeCool - Yeah it is a lot different. I might grab some separate B6 tablets from Asda, they're cheap anyway. Don't want to get different conception tablets yet as just started a new pack, but might switch once they've run out.
Thanks for all your advice! You're very knowledgeable :)

BabySquid · 27/02/2019 15:07

Ooooo guys my SI's have been delivered already!! Might start taking then pre Drs... someone found a link to recommended doses and days... don't suppose they could paste it again?? @starkid was it you?? When are you taking yours? I'm hoping I get an energy boost for my decorating this weekend haha

starkid · 27/02/2019 16:34

@BabySquid - flapjackered sent the info first, let me just dive into the older threads and I'll find all the info she came up with.
The general consensus is use them days 3-7 of your cycle, and a dose of between 80-200mg a day with food :) that's what I'm doing this cycle, so starting on Friday.

starkid · 27/02/2019 16:42

Ok this is what flapjackered sent before
(Sorry for the massive wall of text coming everyone)

Soya Isoflavones are derived from soya beans. They have been dubbed “the natural Clomid,” as they work in pretty much an identical manner. Just like Clomid; Soya Isoflavones work by tricking your body into thinking its low on oestrogen. Your body then kick starts production of FSH (Follicle-stimulating hormone) followed by LH (Luteinizing hormone) Which are both necessary to release Healthy Eggs during ovulation.
FSH is released at the start of the menstrual cycle; it stimulates the growth of an immature egg into a fully matured egg. When the egg has matured your body then releases a surge of LH. LH is the hormone that tells the ovary to release the egg.

WHEN?
You take Soy Isoflavones, like Clomid, on either CD 1-5 , 2-6, 3-7 , 4-8 or 5-9.
If you take soy Isoflavones during the later time bracket, for example CD5-9, you shall strengthen the egg that has already started growing producing a healthier egg. The earlier in your cycle you take It, the higher your chance of releasing multiple eggs but these eggs will not be as mature as the eggs grown from taking Soya later.
A lot of women will choose the middle cycle (3 -7) allowing time for a strong and healthy egg to develop without erasing the chance of a second egg being developed and released.

1-5 = you produce more eggs, and ovulate sooner, with a stronger ovulation.
2-6 = you produce more eggs that usual, but not as many as taking it 1-5. Eggs may be more mature, and ovulation will be slightly more strong than 1-5.
3-7 = The best of both worlds, a few more eggs, and all eggs will be strong & mature, and ovulation will be alot stronger than 1-5.
4-8 = No more eggs will be produced, but the ones already there, will be matured alot more than usual, and ovulation will be very strong. Ovulation may only be brought forward a teeny bit.
5-9 = You'll have one very mature strong egg, from the ones you already produced on your own. Ovulation will either happen when it usually does, or a few days later, but your egg will be of great quality.

DOSE?
The dose is really down to you but you should always use the lowest amount that works for you.
With Clomid the starting dose is 100mg. Soya Isoflavones are said to be half the strength of Clomid, so it makes sense for the starting dose to be 100mg.
The trouble with 100mg of soya is that the capsules tend to come as 40mg. So you have a choice of starting at 80mg.
Some women change the dose on different days. So they may start at 120mg for the first 3 days then give an extra boost for the last 2 days with 160mg.

Yse the lowest dose possible for yourself. If you ovulate using 120mg/day stick to that for a few cycles. GIVE IT A CHANCE. It is said that it takes 3months to get the full benefits of what you are taking. NEVER EXCEED 200mg/day.

OTHER BENEFITS?
The following potential health benefits are attributed to Isoflavones:
Reduce heart disease risk
Protect against prostate problems
improve bone health
Reduce cancer risk

SIDE EFFECTS?
As with any medication, taking Soya Isoflavones may cause side effects such as:
Nausea
Headaches
Dizziness
Hot flushes
Night sweats
Cramping
Diarrhoea
Lack of fertile cm
Thrush
(Or in mine and others experience, giddyness, hyperactivity, lots of giggling, feeling 'wired')
Obviously the higher the dose you take the higher your chance of experiencing side effects.

DO NOT TAKE SOYA ISOFLAVONES WITHOUT CONSULTING A DOCTOR IF YOU HAVE ANY OF THE FOLLOWING:
Breast cancer, hepatic disease, prostate cancer, kidney disease, taking hormone treatments, thyroid disease, and allergies to soy, peanuts or other legumes.
Soy Isoflavones should not be taken while breastfeeding or pregnant.
Soy Isoflavones may interact with the following medications; androstenedione, antibiotics, clomiphene, DHEA, contraceptives and other female hormones, finasteride, raloxifene, red clover, tamoxifen, testosterone and other male hormones, thyroid hormones, and toremifene.

NOTE: Just like Clomid, Soya Isoflavones may not help some women at all!

Lottiepink · 27/02/2019 17:05

Hi, do yous mind if I join too please Smile

19Bee2 · 27/02/2019 17:13

Hello all!
I've been so absent on here as life took over a bit and then in half term I just switched off completely which was good in a way. Anyway, back on it at CD15. Haven't managed to DTD this week as being back at work has exhausted me and I haven't wanted to force us to have sex. Usually ovulate 17-19 and signs match up with that so must make sure we do tonight and next couple of days.
Sending love to all on this bizarre journey - congrats to any BFPs I have missed and hugs to anyone struggling. Xx

PeacockingAbout · 27/02/2019 18:46

@DayDreamer1707 you sound like you're in a really good place for this cycle, good luck!

Wow that appointment came through quickly @LokiCat that's great! fingers crossed for you. Stay strong- treat yourself to breakfast and POAS on Saturday Wink

@Lemonysherbet it's impossible not to spot!

@KatBeCool that's interesting about the progesterone. Hope you're not being too hard hit by the side effects of progesterone otherwise, fingers very crossed for you.

Sorry to hear about the BFN @PinkFizz19, especially after a lovely baby dream.

Welcome @mrsawhite and lottiepink

Sorry to hear AF arrived @starkid - sounds like the Soy made an impact to your cycle last month in any case, hope it helps this month.

AF due today, she's not arrived yet but I'm pretty sure she's on her way, cramping and Lower back pain in evidence. Had some promising symptoms earlier on (very low cramps, sharp pains, sense of smell), but took some ICs over the weekend, all BFNs and the symptoms all vanished so they may have been in my head Hmm

Hey ho, cycle 4. At least a BFP next month or later is better for me for work, silver linings!

BostonFern · 27/02/2019 18:47

Welcome @mrsawhite 👋🏻

Sorry you got a BFN @PinkFizz19 , it's always hard after such dreams too!

Welcome @Lottiepink !

CD3 here and I think AF is starting to ease up a bit. I'm impatient to get into my fertile week now!

EssJayyCee · 27/02/2019 19:18

We haven't officially started ttc yet.. but we just so happened to BD on ovulation day without protection.. he pulled out but I'm not convinced it was fully in time..

I know it's really early but... I'm 7dpo today.. and since last night I've been getting this weird tingly pulling feeling to the right of my belly button.
A bit of a pain in my lower right back and along the very bottom of my stomach.
I know it's not a factual thing but I had a temperature dip at 5dpo which could have been linked to early implantation..

Do you think I could possibly be pregnant or am I just symptom spotting?

DayDreamer1707 · 27/02/2019 19:37

I'm currently on CD6 and time to start doing some baby making!! Got my positive and healthy head 😌

Thanks @PeacockingAbout I'm just really trying to stay chilled...do not want the TWW though. FX for you that the witch doesn't show but always good to look on the positive side of things x

@19Bee2 welcome back and sometimes it's good to be distracted. Happy DTD 😛

Welcome @Lottiepink. Is this your first TTC cycle?
