@bentley - sorry for the chemical although I bet you are pleased AF is now here and you can at least move on. Have fun with the horse training session tonight. What kind of training is it? Dressage, jumping etc?

@Betty - it could be implantation but equally could just be one of those weird things? Hopefully it will go back up tomorrow.

Happy Birthday @buggles - I haven't been to Madrid for so long but I love Spain so much. I really love all the cold meat which I can't currently eat! Literally one of my favourite meals in chorizo, serrano ham, olives, manchego cheese with some wine. YUM. When is your 12 week scan?

@tigsy so pleased to hear that the 10 week scan was positive. I had one at 10 weeks too and it was the first time I have seen wriggling hands and feet - so cool!

@twittle - congrats on the boy news!

I have also have gender news. We decided to find out with the NIPT tests but I didn't want to say until after my 12 week scan but we are also having a BOY! My husband really didn't mind if we found out or not, but I just felt that with the two losses last year I really wanted something like the gender to focus on. Not that I have thought about it much since I found out a week today.

I did go and see my HR person at work today. We get 45 calendar days for maternity here in the UAE but thankfully our school lets us take 100 days unpaid afterwards. So I can take almost 5-6 months off if I want so that's made me feel better. I told my DH and he said he was worried about money. I decided I couldn't even have that conversation with him today. It's one for another time......I don't think he has any idea at the moment.

Bentley111 · 08/04/2019 22:03

Bit of a nightmare this eve, I locked myself out of my account but back with an extra 1 Grin

@edidxb ahh how exciting!!! 💙
On a different note, I cannot believe the maternity structure in the UAE... how can you possibly go bask to work less than 6 weeks post partum?! Breastfeeding, potential c section recovery, bonding....
That's awful. Hope your DH sees some sense.

We went jumping 😊 I'd written off competing this year as planned to be pregnant but it felt fab to be back jumping, so hopefully we can get back out to some shows soon!

Pegase · 08/04/2019 22:39

Congratulations to all with positive scans- hope time continues to fly throughout your pregnancies (and movement soon which certainly helped me with anxiety previously!)

Well done @Bentley111 for the exciting training session! I have been looking at horse shares today. It is almost exactly a year of trying now and slightly fed up of putting life on hold 'just in case.'

Kinsters · 09/04/2019 00:28

Congratulations edi! Another boy! And the joys of maternity leave as a working expat... I get 90 days which doesn't seem like enough. 45 days is just awful!

Bentley sorry about CD1 and the possible chemical, it sucks. But yeah, at least you're onto your next try. I've not found anything that helps migraines except eating ice cream which gives some temporary relief. My sister takes imigran but I'm not sure whether it's safe for TTC.

TwittleBee · 09/04/2019 08:12

it is such a shame that it had to bloomin be a chemical Bentley Sad I suppose at least AF has shown up now so on to the next cycle. Good luck for this one. Glad you had fun jumping and good luck with some shows!!

edi aww yay congratulations on your boy too! Well i suppose that is good news regarding work but difficult with your DH, what does he propose? That you go back straight away?

Bentley111 · 09/04/2019 08:58

Thanks @Pegase. I wish you were nearer me, you'd be more than welcome to come and play on mine. I know exactly what you mean and it's how I've been feeling too - good luck with finding a share! Grin

@Kinsters 90 days!!! One of the rare times I've felt lucky to be in the UK recently... do women generally not go back after having children?
I'm not sure Imigram is ttc-safe Sad will try ice cream though, thanks!

Thanks @Twittle Smile

DH suggested that we try ivf this morning! Not sure whether to laugh or cry...!

Kinsters · 09/04/2019 11:47

Women generally do come back because it's much easier to get help here plus in some ways it's more progressive - we have a couple of dedicated nursing rooms in our office with fridges for storing expressed milk. Often grandparents will care for the children or otherwise you can hire a nanny for a very reasonable price (if we did that probably 1/4 of our combined income would be spent on a live in nanny).

Yes do try ice cream! I've tried chewing ice but it doesn't have the same effect. The best is an ice lolly that you can suck on and hold in your mouth. I think it maybe constricts the blood vessels or something. It is very temporary though and the headache/feeling crap returns as soon as I finish (and head to the freezer for another 😂)

tigsyboo · 09/04/2019 12:19

Hello ladies
Great news on the boy @edidxb 💙 but my god- that's short maternity!! I'm so lucky I get 18 weeks full pay (which I can split to 14 weeks full and 8 weeks half pay to allow me to get paid for longer) then up to 18 months total my role will be kept open.

Not sure what to think re ivf @Bentley111, have you tried taking a baby aspirin each day. I've been doing it since 4 weeks before bfp as read if it's minor clotting issues causing loss/es this alleviates this. Maybe worth a try??

Well it's my bday today - 36.... woke up to my step sons singing happy birthday and the dog jumping on me, and the eldest lad announcing its only 1460 days until I'm 40 - the joys of Amazon Alexa! Cheers kid!
Been for breakfast to a lovely little coffee shop with DH and mum and dad. Had a lovely card and huge bottle of Tiffany perfume I've been wanting but way too expensive off my mum. Was lovely spending the morning with her and dad and chatting about the new house and the baby.
DH brought me my much loved benefit makeup (ladies you must try they're real mascara!!) and taking me to Cheshire oaks for maternity clothes shopping when I need them and also got me a load of bottles of various alcohol free wines, ciders and beers 😂

Got 12 week scan next weds, nervous again.

On a 'due month' forum and they are making me very nervous... I feel great apart from a bit of bloating and getting hot feet each night, and hunger hitting me instantly - no sickness etc... they are all having time off work and playing top trumps on who has the worst symptoms and who needs the most meds etc- making me worry about my lack of them!

TwittleBee · 09/04/2019 12:48

Oh tigsy Happy Birthday!! Here's a glass of Nosecco to you! Sounds like a fabulous day so far!

As for the pregnancy symptom competition, some people just really like the sympathy and then there's always the fact that those who have something to moan about tend to have louder voices than those who don't too in this environments. I wouldn't worry too much! Good luck for the 12 week scan!

Kinsters · 09/04/2019 14:18

Happy birthday Tigsy!

Oo Bentley I missed the ivf comment. Does your DH know anything about ivf? How long have you been trying? Could you use it as an in to gently suggest that more sex might be a better thing to start with (sorry if I've got you mixed up with someone else).

Bentley111 · 09/04/2019 14:19

That is really eye opening @Kinsters. Guess it's just a different way of doing things. Fab though that they have special fridges etc, sounds very progressive in lots of ways.
Maybe I'll just sit and eat a tub of B&Js each time I have a migraine... it's a great excuse Grin

HAPPY BIRTHDAY @tigsy!!! So pleased you're having a lovely day. Bless your DSSs, they sound adorable. It sounds like you've been spoilt (rightly so!). Ps absolutely love that mascara.
Agree with Twittle, don't worry about what everyone else is shouting about. As long as the scans and midwife is saying everything is ok, everything is fine.
Also re the IVF - I honestly think we'd be laughed out of the room and was quite insulted that DH thought we needed it at this stage.
Will definitely be taking baby aspirin next time round too.

BettySwoll0cks · 09/04/2019 14:26

Good reminder about the aspirin @tigsy, I'm 7dpo so probably a good idea to start asap for this cycle. Happy birthday btw!! 🥳

I'm not sure which one of the crazy cocktail of supplements I'm on (ubiquinol, vit A, C, D, E, methylfolate, NAC, alpha lipoic acid, regular pro conception pills) is causing it, but my eyelashes are suddenly amazing! Longer, thicker, nice curl ... there's a silver lining to the £150 they all cost me!!

DartmoorDoughnut · 09/04/2019 15:41

What’s baby aspirin? As in can I take a normal aspirin or do I have to go get something else?!

BettySwoll0cks · 09/04/2019 16:07

It's just regular aspirin in a 75mg dose @DartmoorDoughnut. Got mine from the supermarket. Weird name as you'd never give aspirin to a baby 🤔

DartmoorDoughnut · 09/04/2019 16:33

Thanks @BettySwoll0cks I’m on CD9 so I’ll start it now 🤞

tigsyboo · 09/04/2019 17:58

It's basically a quarter of a normal aspirin

tigsyboo · 09/04/2019 18:02

Don't tell pharmacist etc what u are taking it for they won't give it you as they won't give anyone it for pregnant/ ttc issues
I just say it's for a relative who takes it and asked me to pick it up - I didn't see it on the shelf I had to go to pharmacist but might be in big supermarket mine isn't that big x

Bentley111 · 10/04/2019 08:12

Lots of people have mentioned aspirin before but never specified the 75mg dose! Thank god I haven't tried it yet 🙈 what CD did you start taking it @tigsyboo?

Bentley111 · 10/04/2019 08:13

Also @BettySwoll0cks that's fab. At least you know something is doing something good!
How's your chart looking after the possible implantation?

BettySwoll0cks · 10/04/2019 08:52

@Bentley111 temps rose back up again and then came crashing back down again this morning. For my sanity I would like to stop temping for the month but I want to have a record for when (if?) I ever get a referral to the RMC

The July 19ers - The rollercoaster continues, scream if you wanna go faster
tigsyboo · 10/04/2019 09:26

@Bentley111 I started it the month before I got bfp, not sure when exactly though and taken it every day since

Bentley111 · 10/04/2019 11:07

I have some 300mg in the cupboard, will take a quarter today & grab some tomorrow. Thank you 🎉

Oh @BettySwoll0cks that's such a shame. Keeping everything crossed for you 🤞🏼

Buggles1 · 10/04/2019 16:27

Glad you had a Happy Birthday @Tigsyboo

My 12 wk scan is next Wednesday (same as you @tigsyboo!) but I’ll be almost 13 wks by then. Feeling anxious today cause it was now (11+6) that I started bleeding last time. Things do feel different this time and with the reassurance scan I do feel slightly better about everything - for now!

tigsyboo · 10/04/2019 16:51

@Buggles1 I understand you being nervous, I am too.
I'll be 11+6 and I don't know why I said weds, mines tues!

Hope you don't mind me asking this, Did they say when your lost baby stopped growing when you had your scan last time? Xx

Pegase · 10/04/2019 21:36

Are there any possible side effects to taking aspirin before I jump on this bandwagon? Do you take it only post-ov?
