@Kinsters fingers crossed a Sunday shag does the job x

@tigsyboo no worries lovely!

@Bentley11 have you POAS yet?!

Bentley11 · 03/04/2019 08:24

Morning, probably should have taken @tigsyboo's advice & done it in a few days time but I caved. Another squinter but there is colour there.
Told dh, he agreed we should not spend more money on tests and see what happens over the weekend when I'm due on.
Please keep everything crossed for me 🤞🏼🤞🏼

@Kinsters I'm so sorry the timings aren't working out great for next month. As Dartmoor said, Sunday & perhaps Monday morning before he goes should set you up ok. Sending you hugs as I can't imagine how frustrating this is for you.

@tigsyboo when is your next scan? Can you book a private one for the mean time? Anxiety must be through the roof for you.
Poor DH, slightly underwhelming to say the least 🙈

@BettySwoll0cks I've never understood that either.....

tigsyboo · 03/04/2019 09:04

@Bentley11 it's so hard not to cave!!
Maybe try a sneaky one sat morning?

I could book another private one but I'm considering NIPT tests that come with a scan.... but it's my birthday next week and I can't help but think I don't want to ruin it if I find it's all gone wrong - I wish I could be more positive it's just so hard!!
I'm also really worried as my mum now has shingles and although the dr says it's fine as I've had chicken pox I can't help but a) worry for me and b) worry for mum who I know would blame that if something was wrong.

Bentley11 · 03/04/2019 10:03

@tigsyboo it is so hard isn't it! I'm due on Saturday so I think I will try to wait until Sunday if I've not come on what a lie I'll have probably have done 5 more by then

Do you see much of your mum? Go careful, just in case. If the drs says it's fine I'm sure it is x

edidxb · 03/04/2019 11:00

@bentley - this looks really promising. It's only Wednesday today - no way can you wait until Sunday surely! Maybe tomorrow!?
It's about time there was another BFP on here, so here's hoping it sticks for you. Sending loads of positive thoughts.

@kinsters, even if you ovulate on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday are still possibilities, and of course Monday morning. I 100% conceived this time with sex either 4 or 5 days before ovulation. The dates at both scans I have had so far confirm this and I only had sex once. So it is possible!!!

@betty - I'm not sure about the charts, other than temps can fluctuate?

@tigsy - oh it's such a horrible waiting game for the scans. Do you get the NIPT free on the NHS as you are over 35? I am sure I read that was the case? Or is it just some trusts?

Thanks all for the thoughts for tomorrow - arrgghhhh!!

tigsyboo · 03/04/2019 11:10

No @edidxb it's £400, I think with my age (36 next weeek) it's sensible though. X

Rose68 · 03/04/2019 23:21

@Tigsy I’m pretty sure you can’t get NIPT on the NHS, I think I read that sometimes the NHS will fund part of the cost if the NHS tests at 12 weeks come back with a high risk. 35/36 is really not old at all in terms of having babies and I wouldn’t have the test just because of your age. If you want to have it done for that extra level of reassurance, then of course you should go for it, and I probably would have done had the test been around when I had my boys.

@Bentley, definitely don’t wait until Sunday! I would try again in the morning. Fingers crossed! x

Kinsters · 04/04/2019 04:41

edidxb good luck with the scan today!

tigsyboo · 04/04/2019 07:10

@Rose68
I wish the midwife I saw had your opinion on my age, she kept referring to me as 'older mum'.... older mums this and older mums that!! I left feeling 86!

Good luck today @edidxb xx

Bentley11 · 04/04/2019 07:26

More tests due to arrive this afternoon so will try to hold out until the morning (if I can). Had a few cramps last night which I can't remember if I had last time... but went to bed at half 8 🙈

I wouldn't have thought 36 was an older mum at all @tigsyboo! Re the test, I think if the nhs comes back high risk, I would do it. If not, don't bother.

@edidxb I'm thinking of you today, good luck xx

Rose68 · 04/04/2019 07:34

Good luck today @edidxb!

@Tigsy I can’t believe she made you feel like that! I would be considering a complaint.

edidxb · 04/04/2019 13:10

Hi all.
I had my scan and all was good. I am so relieved.....
I am 12+4 today and was measuring nearer to 13+1 but apparently that's still within the measurements for 12+4 just the higher end.
The nuchal transluency was also OK but I had also had my NIPT results this week too.
I got some good pictures both normal and in 3D - so weird. Baby wasn't moving around much, just kept rubbing their face!
Anyway, thank you all. Now I can buy some maternity clothes as I didn't want to buy any until after the scan but my clothes are getting snug.

@tigsy - you're not old - you're younger than me!
@bentley - good luck!

Thanks all xxx

Kinsters · 04/04/2019 13:32

So happy for you edi! I was waiting for your update! xx

TwittleBee · 04/04/2019 13:49

Oh such wonderful news to come on here and see edi ! Enjoy shopping. Hope you can relax a bit more now xx

Gonna have to get used to your name change Bentley ! Had to scroll through to see what was going on haha. FX for the tests tomorrow!

Oh tigsy such a bloomin worry! Do try not to worry about the shingles though. DS had chicken pox whilst I was in 1st trimester. As for the older mum comments, is bloomin rude isn't it.

tigsyboo · 04/04/2019 14:02

Hi ladies
Thanks for making me feel young 😂😂
Had a shitty few days, buyers fucking around with our house and I'm on the verge of telling them to buy somewhere else!
Had a mini breakdown last night to DH and told him how anxious I feel about the baby and that seeing it at 8 weeks doesn't make me feel better at 10weeks. Got a call this morning and he told us he's booked us in for a scan before I started work at 2pm and to meet him there. 💕
Saw our little bean wriggling about, heart beating away at a good fast rate and measuring at 10+3!!
I feel much better now and maybe even can start enjoying this!! Decided to do as advised and see if nhs say low risk and decide on NIPT from there.

@edidxb so so glad your scan went well too 💕

Bentley11 · 04/04/2019 14:37

@edidxb I'm so thrilled for you ❤️ enjoy shopping!

@tigsyboo don't even talk to me about buying houses at the minute. We had an offer accepted on a house on Tuesday, then yesterday they called to retract it. Fucks sake!!
Ps your DH is the cutest and I'm so glad all is ok 🌟

Thank you @TwittleBee and sorry to confuse you! When's your gender scan?

Tests haven't arrived in the post... so I'm going to run to boots and get some! Getting so anxious now.

Bentley11 · 04/04/2019 15:23

So ready to just give up on this ttc crap. Reckon it must be another chemical.

The line on Tuesday (top one) is the darker, yesterday was faint but visible (middle) & today... absolutely nothing 😭😭😭

The July 19ers - The rollercoaster continues, scream if you wanna go faster
DartmoorDoughnut · 04/04/2019 16:56

@tigsyboo oh what a darling your DH is, so glad everything is ok with you and @edidxb Grin

@Bentley11 oh that sucks Sad sometimes I wish I was back in the early days of TTC before DS1 as I had no idea about POAS or MN so although it was a horrendous 3 and a bit years I wasn’t driving myself nuts every month with the TWW. Knowledge is power with charting and ovulating but it can drive you insane too.

TwittleBee · 04/04/2019 18:09

Oh Bentley that is just so fucking shit again. Also so shit on the house situation too!!! Why do people do that?

Ah so glad that he booked you guys in for another scan tigsy that is so sweet of him!

So had my scan! We are having another boy!

DartmoorDoughnut · 04/04/2019 19:33

@TwittleBee fantastic news! We have two boys (so far 🤞) and I love it

Kinsters · 05/04/2019 01:41

Ah sorry it doesn't look good Bentley Sad.

Congratulations Twittle! That's lovely. I think everyone here's got only boys right? I can't remember anyone mentioning having a daughter?

Kinsters · 05/04/2019 02:48

Interestingly my DH was looking into heritability of sex and found that men can have a genetic propensity to produce male or female sperm. I'll be interested to see what we have (if it happens!) because DH's family is so male heavy - of him, siblings and cousins 10 boys and only 2 girls. Me, my siblings and cousins are split exactly 4 girls 4 boys.

TwittleBee · 05/04/2019 06:27

Thank you DartmoorDoughnut and Kin

Yeah I looked into that too Kin - I saw a post with someone asking about it over a FB group as her partner has only ever had girls and he has a lot of sisters. Everyone was laughing at her about it saying it was just 50:50. But it got me thinking so headed onto Google Scholar and yeah sure enough there appears to be 3 types of men, those who have better XY sperm, those with better XX and those who are about equal. Also other research, did show once you have 2 of the same sex then your chances of having a 3rd the same sex again are dramatically increased and I guess that because your partner is likely to have better sperm of one sex.

Did see some where that it looks like some women are more likely to be successful in carrying one sex over the other. But I never got round to looking into the research for that or where that came from. Mainly because I can't bring myself looking too deeply into reasons behind MCs.

Kinsters · 05/04/2019 07:17

Yes Twittle it's really interesting! I haven't read anything about women and miscarriages of particular sexes but my DH said that he read male foetuses were more likely to be miscarried so it stands to reason that XY sperm dominant men's partners are more likely to have miscarriages (though I'd imagine the figures are not super significant).

Your DS will be so excited!

Kinsters · 05/04/2019 07:18

Or maybe not - I have no idea when kids start caring about things like siblings!
