Yammers thread 10!

Yammer rules:

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement. Please read the rules before posting!

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shalt not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shalt not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night
  • Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

-Thou shalt not post pictures of positive pregnancy tests. We will be delighted to hear about it but no photos, please and thank you

@SuziQ10 I'm so sorry, hope you're still having some good times on holiday.

@cupcakesandglitter no rise yet but it did dip further. Will keep the hope until tomorrow. Then I might start sulking!

@SuziQ10 sending lots of hugs
@NoseringGirl will be sending you good vibes
@Clumsykitten glad to hear you had a good experience with the GP

I'm sitting in a cafe waiting for DH to finish his exam practice session. Blood sugar monitoring is NOT going well - I'm almost 100% sure I'm going to end up on insulin Confused

Bit worried about DTD for this cycle (not sure when, think it depends on when I get my withdrawal bleed = when I start the letrozole) as DH is getting sick, but he seems to be very sure that he'll be well again by the time we get the phone call. Suppose there's always the syringe method Blush

FairyAnn · 16/02/2019 06:37

Hi all, just a quick note to say it was confirmed yesterday that our IVF didn't work ☹️ going to try again the a few weeks

Thinking of all those also getting bad news this week xxx

BGDino · 16/02/2019 07:49

@FairyAnn sending big hugs

NoseringGirl · 16/02/2019 08:57

@Clumsykitten that sounds like a really good GP appointment, it's amazing the difference that can make.

@BGDino I hope your DH feels better soon! Have you been getting a lot of high readings? Are they wanting you to get your blood sugar to pregnancy levels when TTC? I know GD blood sugar limits are a lot stricter than non pregnant ones.

@FairyAnn I'm so sorry, sending lots of love.

No real temp rise here today. Starting to think my body prepared to ovulate but didn't manage. Not uncommon for me but it was the most positive OPK I've ever had so was really hoping it would happen. Clinging onto the slight hope of a slow rise but should probably prepare for another long anovulatory cycle. If it is then I'll go back to the GP and get the process started for going back on metformin for the PCOS.

impatientmammy · 16/02/2019 10:05

@cupcakesandglitter my other half went to sea on CD8 so we've had a cycle off so just waiting for AF. How's things going for you?
I hope your ok @FairyAnn fingers crossed for next time x

cupcakesandglitter · 16/02/2019 10:18

@NoseringGirl I've read PCOS can massively affect temps, it doesn't necessarily mean you haven't ovulated I think? Last month I got a suuuuuper slow rise (over four days) and my temps never went above coverline at all so I didn't think I did ov, but AF came exactly when it should've according to my LP. Sorry if that doesn't help, but don't give up hope

@FairyAnn so sorry to hear that, fx for your next round x

@impatientmammy how far off are you now? Are you enjoying the break? I'm okay thanks - started redecorating the house, and I've got an interview for a new job (internal) next week. Won't be disappointed if I don't get it, just trying to be more chill about things. Really really need a holiday though, but money is super tight for us the next couple of months, so the job would definitely help!!

BGDino · 16/02/2019 10:26

@NoseringGirl yep they want me at pregnancy levels already. Haven’t seen the dietician yet so hopefully things improve with some advice on what to eat - pretty sure I’m making a fair few mistakes!

NoseringGirl · 16/02/2019 10:28

That's interesting @cupcakesandglitter will wait and see what happens over the next few days. I know the temp increase is caused by the progesterone released after ovulation but I've never really understood what causes slow rises. I wonder what about PCOS would stop temps rising even after ovulation? Maybe low progesterone?
Good luck with your job interview!

NoseringGirl · 16/02/2019 10:31

@BGDino have you looked at the Gestational Diabetes UK website? I found their advice much more helpful than the dietician. There's some great recipes on there too.

cupcakesandglitter · 16/02/2019 10:39

@NoseringGirl thank you - yeah it's low progesterone, fairly common in PCOS and it'd give you low temps. Or you could be a slow riser, either way don't give up hope, just wait and see xx

impatientmammy · 16/02/2019 13:31

@cupcakesandglitter not really but it's probably doing me good I'm excited to start trying again though. AF is due on the 26th which would make 3 December birthdays in our house if we're luck (last year we skipped this cycle) but I'd still be over the moon. Good luck with the interview x

cupcakesandglitter · 16/02/2019 16:20

@impatientmammy thank you, that would be so lovely - fx for you x

Sorry for the silence recently, I think I needed some time away. Just catching up, best of luck everyone 💕

impatientmammy · 17/02/2019 18:41

How you doing @todaywasafairytale ? X

todaywasafairytale · 19/02/2019 19:22

AF due in two days, I'll be 11DPO by then. Not sure if I feel pregnant, I feel more hopeful than last month when I just knew I wasn't. I just feel like I'm hyper aware of symptoms during the TWW. Anyone else feel the same? I'm going to test Thursday morning because DH and I are away from Thursday to Monday.

Hope you're all doing okay.

Broodyaf · 19/02/2019 21:18

Hey ladies. So AF landed on Saturday while I was at a wedding 🙄
I've given in and booked a GP appointment as that is 24 failed cycles now and I'm 36.
Can anyone tell me what to expect from this initial appt please?

impatientmammy · 19/02/2019 21:54

Awww @Broodyaf sorry af arrived and what shitty timing too. It might be diferent for you but my dr made sure I knew what sex was and that dh was putting it in the right place 🙄 then booked me in for some blood tests on CD21 and DH in for sperm analysis. Every areas different though and you've been trying longer than I had x

NoseringGirl · 19/02/2019 21:54

@Broodyaf sorry for AF! To begin with they usually arrange basic blood tests for you, so CD3 and CD21 (which should actually be 7DPO) to make sure your hormones are doing everything they're meant to do. They may ask your partner to book an appointment to arrange a semen analysis or they might wait for your blood tests to come back. It seems to vary!

I've just booked another GP appointment as well. Hoping to get back on metformin for PCOS. My temps have stayed very firmly low and I don't think my body is getting back to regular ovulation without a fight. My moods are all over the place too and feel generally hormonal and a bit shite! I work with babies and the closer I get to what would've been my due date from last year's early miscarriage, the harder I'm finding it.

Broodyaf · 19/02/2019 22:05

Thanks @NoseringGirl & @impatientmammy for the useful info. My cycles are v short. 20-24days so I'm assuming they'll factor all this in when deciding what dates to take blood out of me at.

NoseringGirl · 19/02/2019 22:15

@Broodyaf they should factor it in but some doctors seem to automatically go with CD21. I've had the argument before, hopefully they will but be prepared to question it just in case!

Broodyaf · 19/02/2019 22:36

I will @NoseringGirl -
Any other questions I should be ready to ask?x
