Yammers thread 10!

Yammer rules:

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement. Please read the rules before posting!

  • Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shalt not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night
  • Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

-Thou shalt not post pictures of positive pregnancy tests. We will be delighted to hear about it but no photos, please and thank you

Hi @WatchingTheWheels85 sorry you are having a tough time. This is a very supportive thread where you can vent with no judgement
@cupcakesandglitter glad you had a good night. Hope your DH gets some answers soon
@NoseringGirl hope you have ovulated
@impatientmammy that's a hard milestone. Hope you are ok

Anyone want to play guess the ovulation date? Chart attached, cycle days across the top. I got a peak opk on cd10 and am discounting CD12s temp as I'd been up in the night with DS. I think cd10 is right but had a bigger dip 2 days before? And temps only properly started to rise after cd13?

I really want to get my bfp this month. The EDD from my mc in December is coming up and this is my last chance at a bfp before then.

Yammed if you do, Yammed if you dont
impatientmammy · 15/07/2019 09:13

@cupcakesandglitter I think that's normal it's definitely changed me.
Welcome @WatchingTheWheels85 it def ruins sex doesn't it
Ahhh I'm crap at that @dragonmummy17 fingers crossed though and a rise is always good x

impatientmammy · 15/07/2019 09:18

Has anyone had scans to confirm folicals? Just curious if it matches the side with twinges etc? X

cupcakesandglitter · 15/07/2019 10:48

Thanks @dragonmummy17 appointment is on Friday so we'll see. I'd wait a few more days with your chart to pinpoint ov x

No sorry @impatientmammy I don't even know what that is 🙈

NoseringGirl · 15/07/2019 18:48

Welcome @WatchingTheWheels85 and well done and getting rid of the tracking. I can never bring myself to do it! Hope your stay here is a short one.

@dragonmummy17 I reckon it'll be clearer after a few more days but temps don't necessarily start to rise right away apparently. Hope this is your cycle!

@impatientmammy I haven't but I have read that ovulation pain can actually be the follicle maturing rather than the actual release itself.

Temps have been dropping here so no ovulation. OPKs are completely negative so I guess my body tried and failed to ovulate. Hoping it tries again soon.

impatientmammy · 18/07/2019 10:17

Yeah it was definitely just maturing as it was really early @NoseringGirl
Got all excited this morning cause my OPK is soooo close to being positive I'm only cd12 though so this is a lot earlier than normal for me. Might dtd again tonight to get as many attempts in as possible I like to try and get the two days before and two days after the positive OPK if I can as that's what I did the month of my BFP. God I'm so obsessive how are you all doing? Anyone else at a similar stage? X

NoseringGirl · 19/07/2019 12:17

@impatientmammy hope that OPK has turned positive now. I'm a similar level of obsessive. You're not alone in that!

Still no ovulation here annoyingly and the OPKs couldn't be more negative.
I went to give blood this morning but couldn't as my iron levels are too low. I've been googling like mad (obviously 🙈) and apparently low iron levels can cause ovulatory infertility and increase the risk of early miscarriage. Wondering if that's part of my issue! I'm seeing the doctor on Monday anyway so planning to discuss it then.

impatientmammy · 19/07/2019 15:01

@NoseringGirl just get some iron supplements in the meantime knowledge is power and all that. No ovulation yet x

Lilzpk · 19/07/2019 16:31

Hi ladies I'm hoping I can join you all( although not for long hopefully 😀)

I'm 27 ttc #1 for 7 months now. I've been having issues, was diagnosed with PCOS in April. I had implant out in August last year but couldn't ttc right away as I had low folate levels. Got those on track and then went on the pill to hopefully kick start my periods but it didn't work. I didn't have a period until April this year.

I'm currently cd20 and 2dpo, not holding out much hope but trying to keep slogging through. I feel like despair, impatience and emotional stress are holding me back on top of physical issues. I take metformin 1500mg daily, folic acid, b 12, b 6, Omega 3, vitamin d, eltroxin 50mg and boots conception support.

This is my first post on here. I used to use netmums but I just didn't like the vibes on the recent ttc threads.

Sorry for the long post, just thought a thorough introduction would be best.

NoseringGirl · 25/07/2019 10:02

Hi @Lilzpk welcome! I have PCOS too and feel your frustration. How are you finding the metformin? I'm on it and it does help but I don't love the side effects!

CD23 here after the chemical pregnancy last cycle. I'm possible 5-7DPO but I'm honestly not sure. Had some spotting yesterday and am cramping so I'm either about to get a random AF or my body is just doing weird things. Who knows?!

How's everyone else doing? Hope you're all coping in this heat!

cupcakesandglitter · 25/07/2019 14:56

Hey @NoseringGirl fx you ovulated and your body is returning to normal - hopefully AF doesn't turn up soon but worst case scenario you get a fresh cycle to start again! CD42 here and I've been spotting for the last three days. Usually spot for two and then AF, but I'm not feeling hopeful or overthinking it. I've had a pad on all day waiting but nothing so far at all. I reckon she'll turn up tomorrow... really cba 😂😩

Welcome @Lilzpk xx

impatientmammy · 25/07/2019 21:57

Google "is oily skin a sign of pregnancy"
Looks down at sunburnt chest. No it's a sign of a fucking heatwave 😒🤦🏻‍♀️ how you all doing? X

GlassSuppers · 26/07/2019 09:08

Good luck @cupcakesandglitter hope AF stays away for you.

I've just came on for the second time this month. No idea what's going on with my cycle Sad

Feel like giving up to be honest and admitting the fact I can't have anymore kids. I'm obviously very lucky to have the one I have, she must have been a miracle!

cupcakesandglitter · 26/07/2019 09:17

Thanks @GlassSuppers try not to feel disheartened, maybe your hormones are just working in overdrive atm - I get 23 day cycles as well as well over 40 days with no pattern whatsoever. Have a glass of wine, put your feet up later and relax a little 🍷

@impatientmammy 😂😂 don't worry, I had a random gum bleed this month and googled it. Pregnancy? No. Gum disease apparently? Yes. How are you?

No AF for me here. Still just brown discharge when I wipe. I remember having the same thing this time last year, but, I'm sure I wasn't ovulating then. Could've sworn I ovulated almost two weeks ago... my anniversary is in a couple of weeks. It'd be so amazing if I was but equally I just don't want to get my hopes up. Not sure when to test 🤷🏻‍♀️

JustLikeTheySaid · 26/07/2019 11:12

Sorry I disappeared on here. The waiting nearly broke me and I had to take some time off trying and thinking about trying. I have been reading along.

We had our fertility appointment this week. DH has a low sperm count which isn't the end of the world. I'm a disaster though. PCOS (totally thrown by this because my hormones and periods are fine), plus a genetic abnormality that is going to cause issues. Need a laparoscopy and then it will either be medication for the PCOS and carry on trying, or straight to IVF.

Feeling absolutely gutted and totally thrown by the PCOS diagnosis. Wasn't expecting that at all. Not even sure where to start - I've been losing weight on slimming world which is really carb heavy but then the doctor said I should cut out carbs completely? Need to do some research and googling, it is bloody hard to even begin though. Need to know what supplements to start taking too. Bllleeeuuuggghhhhh.

Hope you are all okay considering everything. X

cupcakesandglitter · 26/07/2019 11:52

@JustLikeTheySaid although it's not the best scenario, try not to panic yourself - plenty of women conceive with PCOS, and your normal regular periods are a good thing so don't let it get you down. With the genetic issue, from what I've read, it just means when you get your BFP they'll do all the tests and you'll be regularly monitored. There's meds available for PCOS and hopefully you'll get more answers from the laparoscopy. Don't panic or beat yourself up honestly, take a breath and wait for your meds. It's not easy, but we all know how you feel x

cupcakesandglitter · 26/07/2019 11:53

Oh also @JustLikeTheySaid I forgot to add, I massively cut down carbs (other than brown rice and the odd brown bread) and lost 6lbs in a week put it all back on now though but I'd recommend cutting down carbs and sugar, sugar is a massive one to cut down with PCOS

NotMaryWhitehouse · 26/07/2019 15:24

@NoseringGirl I've just seen you mention low iron a couple of weeks ago - I was recommended Floridax for the same reason.

I have been trying to avoid these boards, it's all a bit much at the moment. Have had an ultrasound now and everything looks good apparently. DP has a disappointing SA, so he has to go back and do another one.

Do any of your partners/husbands take anything in terms of supplements? I feel even more out of control tbh, I keep researching supplements and diets to improve sperm quality but ultimately he is A grown man and I know he is processing things. I don't want to start bossing him about, but equally I can't stop myself trying to organise things 😑.

Sigh.

Lilzpk · 26/07/2019 18:16

Hi ladies, thanks for welcoming me, it's great to know there's a place to come and talk about the struggles.

#Noseringgirl, I'm finding the metformin ok, it's been giving me some stomach pain, I've had relflux since my early twenties, so I'm thinking it's aggravating that. I can put up with it though if it works the way I hope it will.

I'm 9dpo today, feeling a lot of anxiety. As usual, just policing myself in the rare moments I get hopeful. I hope all of you ladies are doing ok.

JustLikeTheySaid · 26/07/2019 19:28

My husband is taking impryl - think it is quite new - been given to him by the consultant this week. She said they are better than the well man stuff he was taking.

cupcakesandglitter · 27/07/2019 09:39

Hey yammers. Just popping on to say the spotting I had was implantation, however I had super super heavy cramping too - I got my BFP this morning, right in time for our anniversary. There was no surprising my husband, I have bawling my eyes out since - half with happiness, half with worry that this won't stick either. Are you okay with me sticking around?

NoseringGirl · 27/07/2019 20:49

@cupcakesandglitter that's AMAZING news! Congratulations!!!!!! I'm so happy for you, and I'm definitely happy for you to stick around. Why a brilliant way to celebrate your anniversary.

cupcakesandglitter · 27/07/2019 21:10

Thankyou @NoseringGirl ❤️ I honestly don't feel like it's real at all, I spent the morning crying my heart out, the grandparents know and I've spent the day being catered for and not being allowed to move 😂 everyone is being super cautious!! Going to go for an early scan at 7 weeks I think, to try and ease my mind a little x

impatientmammy · 27/07/2019 21:14

😆😆😆 @cupcakesandglitter that's amazing!!! Congratulations x

cupcakesandglitter · 27/07/2019 21:15

Thankyou @impatientmammy ❤️ xxx
