Yammers thread 10!

Yammer rules:

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement. Please read the rules before posting!

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shalt not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shalt not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night
  • Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

-Thou shalt not post pictures of positive pregnancy tests. We will be delighted to hear about it but no photos, please and thank you

@impatientmammy I read somewhere that if you start late then you count the next day as CD1? Good luck for this cycle
@NoseringGirl fingers crossed for ovulation and a normal cycle. Sorry to hear about your cat

impatientmammy · 08/07/2019 09:00

Thank you @dragonmummy17 that's my normal cycle length so does make more sense that way. Not sure why it matters like 😂 x

GlassSuppers · 08/07/2019 21:44

Hi all how are you?

I've had a right shit emotional day today.
I've had AF for 14 days!! Normally only lasts for 3/5 so I went to the GP.
GP sent me to A&E and diagnosed me with a missed incomplete miscarriage. A&E sent me to an early pregnancy clinic where I sat with a bunch of pregnant women for 3.5 hours before I was seen thinking I was having a miscarriage and when I didn't even know I was pregnant in the first place.
Had a horrendous internal examination that revealed absolutely nothing. Never was pregnant, no miscarriage and she said it was just "one of those things"
Then I sat and waited for my discharge notes and heard the receptionist and a nurse slagging me off for coming to a pregnancy unit when I'm not even pregnant Sad

I really feel for any of you guys that have been through it xx

impatientmammy · 09/07/2019 08:10

@GlassSuppers that sounds horrendous !!! I really don't know what to say you must feel exhausted. I'm sorry you've had to go through all of that xx

GlassSuppers · 09/07/2019 08:53

@impatientmammy thank you, I'm shattered and teary this morning but that's probably because of how tired I am and emotionally drained.

Going to spend the day on the sofa I think and get back to life tomorrow.

Hope you're well x

dragonmummy17 · 09/07/2019 09:59

@GlassSuppers what a horrible day. I'm really angry for you that you were treated this way. I'm also upset for you that the EPU is the same one as the pregnancy one... that's really insensitive. Glad you can have a sofa day today... keep on at your GP if it continues because you might need some iron supplements if it carries on.

I got peak opk this morning... not sure what I am meant to do at 6.30am on a work day! We dtd on Sunday evening and will probably tonight even though that's likely to be too late... hopefully that covers it. After chasing again our referral to fertility clinic has finally gone in too

GlassSuppers · 09/07/2019 10:28

Thanks @dragonmummy17 I'm so mixed about it. I was thinking that if I've had a miscarriage then at least that meant I can get pregnant so it's worth carrying on. Now I'm back at square 1 not knowing if I can even get pregnant at all.

Good news about the fertility clinic! Fingers crossed for you x

justbeingelle · 09/07/2019 15:00

@GlassSuppers that sounds awful! I'm so angry on your behalf that you were treated like that! You should make a complaint about those receptionists.

justbeingelle · 09/07/2019 15:06

I had an appointment with my GP this morning to discuss issues TTC. I didn't realise I should have brought my partner along, but he has an appointment with his GP next week anyway (he's at a different practice).

I've been sent for blood tests first. So I've to go for kidney and thyroid function blood tests. She then added progesterone, FSH, LH and prolactin at the same time, rather than waiting for the kidney and thyroid ones first. She doesn't think there's any signs of PCOS and thinks the tests will come back clear, so then she'll refer on after that. I've to go get the blood tests 7 days before my next period, so around 2 weeks time.

She did mention my weight Hmm which I thought she would anyway. So it's motivation to carry on eating healthily and exercising.

NoseringGirl · 11/07/2019 10:19

Just catching up, I'd stopped getting notifications!

@GlassSuppers I'm so sorry that happened to you and it sounds like you were treated appallingly! I hope AF has eased off for you now. I've had some long bleeds and know how exhausting it can be.

@dragonmummy17 glad to hear your clinic referral has finally gone in!

@justbeingelle good luck with the blood tests!

Not much happening here. OPKs got quite dark but not quite positive. That's quite normal for me. Even when I do ovulate, I rarely get a properly positive OPK. I keep thinking I should try the digital OPKs but the cost and my wonky cycles tend to put me off. The cheapie ones are never that helpful for me though. Just waiting to see if I get a temp rise now.

cupcakesandglitter · 11/07/2019 10:22

@GlassSuppers OMG that's horrible! So sorry you went through that, appalling behaviour tbh.

@NoseringGirl fx you get your temp rise and you've ovulated - am I right in thinking it's about the right time in your cycle too?

AF was due anytime now I think (I'm CD27) and I've had a crapload if EWCM yesterday and today so looks like I'm ovulating late again. No idea why 😩

How is everyone doing? I don't get notifications for this either 😩 x

NoseringGirl · 11/07/2019 10:53

@cupcakesandglitter how confusing for you! Have you taken any tests (HPT or OPK?)

It's a little earlier in my cycle than I'd usually ovulate I think, it's a bit confusing though. In a normal, ovulatory cycle for me, ovulation would happen around CD16. I did ovulate CD13 a couple of cycles ago though.
I'm CD11 now if I count from when the pregnancy tests became negative but closer to CD14 if I count from when the spotting/bleeding started. So basically... 🤷🏼‍♀️

cupcakesandglitter · 11/07/2019 10:59

@NoseringGirl nope no tests, and DH and me have said we're not going to either, just going to wait for my period to turn up! I've been in need of a bottle of wine so finally having one on Friday (8 months alcohol free!!!) and just going to wait for a couple of weeks. I did have that "what if" panic in my head and then feeling guilty about drinking but honestly DH calmed me down and I'm okay 😂 I'm not sure when the cycle counts from really, with my CPs I counted it from the first full day of bleeding.. I always spot two days before AF so I never count those as the first either. Either way it's a good sign you've ovulated so fingers crossed it's all back to normal 🤞🏽

NoseringGirl · 11/07/2019 11:13

@cupcakesandglitter enjoy that well deserved wine!
I counted it from the first day of bleeding with the last one but the bleeding was so light before the tests went negative that I guess it was more like spotting? I don't suppose it matters much in the grand scheme of things!

cupcakesandglitter · 11/07/2019 11:34

@NoseringGirl I guess, make sure you cover all bases I suppose 😏 so I've just checked my cervix because with the amount of EWCM I had youd think I'd have loads,.. nothing at all. Just a lot of sticky cm... wtf?

NoseringGirl · 11/07/2019 12:29

@cupcakesandglitter maybe it's all a good sign for you? Fingers crossed!

cupcakesandglitter · 11/07/2019 13:09

@NoseringGirl not crossing my fingers yet, if I feel too positive then I won't let myself drink and will start obsessing 😂

impatientmammy · 11/07/2019 21:06

Fingers crossed for you @cupcakesandglitter But you def deserve a good drink if not xx

Next week is the first birthday of my friends baby who started ttc a month after me. I've struggled with it a bit. I feel awful but shes like a visual reminder of how long it's been and she walks. X

GlassSuppers · 12/07/2019 13:27

Thanks everyone, AF has finally gone and I'm feeling better now.

Fingers crossed for you @cupcakesandglitter

NoseringGirl · 13/07/2019 17:03

How's everyone doing?

@impatientmammy that sounds like a difficult milestone and visual reminder. Hope you can do something nice for yourself.

My OPKs never quite got positive. My temp dipped yesterday and went up a little today so I'm hoping it continues to rise!

cupcakesandglitter · 13/07/2019 19:19

@NoseringGirl fx your temp rises x

Glad you're feeling better @GlassSuppers x

@impatientmammy it's not awful at all, totally normal to not be over the moon about it, it's a horrible reminder. Hope you're okay XX

I had a drink last night and had more fun that I have in ages!! I think I definitely ovulated as I had more EWCM, me and DH DTD last night just to be safe. His SA results are back so fx he gets an appointment to go through them quickly...

impatientmammy · 13/07/2019 20:41

Hope it's good news @cupcakesandglitter glad you had a good night.
Fingers crossed you ovulate @NoseringGirl it's be really frustrating x

NoseringGirl · 13/07/2019 21:09

@cupcakesandglitter I'm really glad you had fun! It's so important to be able to do that when going through all of this! I hope your DH can get his SA results soon.

cupcakesandglitter · 13/07/2019 23:12

Thanks both - DH actually said it was like a glimpse of the old me which tbh I can understand. TTC has really changed me, in some ways better than others 🤷🏻‍♀️

WatchingTheWheels85 · 14/07/2019 08:12

Can I join please? 34 ttc 9 months. I dread sex now, I hate it. I have deleted my apps and thrown away ovulation kits. This is so tough.
