Yammers thread 10!

Yammer rules:

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement. Please read the rules before posting!

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

• Thou shalt not arrive one day and post BFP next day

• Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only

• Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways

• Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month

• Thou shalt not be offended by strong language

• Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams

• Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night

• Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

-Thou shalt not post pictures of positive pregnancy tests. We will be delighted to hear about it but no photos, please and thank you

CD23 and FF has me at 11DPO. My luteal phase is 10 days. Tested but got BFN. So either FF is wrong or AF will show in the next few hours.

@NoseringGirl fingers crossed it doesn't show up - do you think you've ovulated early/later than FF is saying?

Had a bit of a blow today my aunty; who used to be like a second mum to me knew we'd been trying for a baby told me it's about time I popped another one in there 😒 not only has she highlighted how close we no longer we are but also shown what everyone seems to think about fertility. I think awareness needs to be raised!!! if only it was that bloody simple ay girls 😔 thank you all for being here x

@cupcakesandglitter I'm honestly not sure! My temps have been weird this cycle. Longer than normal but still in an ovulatory pattern. Will test again in the morning if AF has stayed away.

@impatientmammy I'm sorry you had to deal with that, it's horrible when someone is so insensitive. My own Mother did the "maybe you're pregnant" joke about what she decided was a weird food combination I was eating today. She knows how long we've been trying. She's previously told me to "just get pregnant" when I was complaining about work stress. I don't know why it's so hard for fertile people to get their head around the fact it's just not that easy for some of us!

Ah @impatientmammy I'm sorry, it's so annoying that people don't get it at all. My mum has made similar comments to @NoseringGirl DM - has spent countless days telling me how it took her three months max with all of us, and that as soon as I relax it'll happen (a year later... clearly not) but also, she keeps hammering on about how she's dead certain it's DH with the problem, not me. Helpful. 🙄 glad to have you all here too, would've gone mental otherwise!

@NoseringGirl oh that's a good sign, fingers crossed for you - you gonna test with FRERs?

Also I 100% agree with awareness, I'm getting annoyed with the throwaway comments and boasting about how easy it is. No one understands, and I'm yet to hear anything helpful from anyone in real life 😩

I feel like in today's society when everyone's talking about all sorts of things so openly and honestly I wish infertility wasn't so taboo x

I get so many comments like that... DM has said some pretty stupid stuff. My DSis is also ttc currently though and I shared some of the stuff I'd learnt... she's an educated woman but had no idea there is a specific part of your cycle where you are more likely to get pregnant. So maybe we need to educate women more about the whole process?

I'm having a really weird cycle this month. I've had no obvious signs I've ovulated but 7 days of ewcm. Ovia thinks I'm 6dpo, but I'm not so sure. We dtd each night at the start of the week but then DS has been poorly so if I ovulated later than Weds we have no chance this month.
I'm starting temping next month if AF comes as expected...

@dragonmummy17 hope you've managed to get your timing right! Even with temping, I still struggle to figure my body out but it gives me a slightly better idea!

Another BFN for me this morning. Temp dipped a bit. 12DPO according to FF but my LP is 10 days so that can't be right. If I change the detector to research rather than advanced it puts me at 8DPO so that's a possibility.

@dragonmummy17 yes!!! It should be fought as part of sex Ed my other half didn't know that either it took about a year for him to realise it's not something I'd just made up x

@NoseringGirl sorry for your bfn. If only 8dpo though... hopefully just too early? How confusing though that you get 2 different calculations

It's very confusing! I tested last night and was sure it was BFN. Left it on my bedside table and it had a second when I looked at it this morning. I know it was almost certainly an evap but the excitement and hope of that second line! I took a FRER this morning but don't think I see anything. Such an emotional rollercoaster!

Sorry for the bfn @NoseringGirl are you gonna test again tomorrow or wait a bit? Evap lines are so annoying, especially when so many people online seem to see their BFP hours after peeing on it. Keeping my fingers crossed for you either way!!!

I agree that it should be taught as part of sex Ed - my biggest regret is not starting TTC as soon as that maternal urge kicked in. Don't know if I'd be pregnant now but at least I'd probably have had some answers now

@dragonmummy17 fx it doesn't turn up, but temping is definitely a good way to monitor ovulation, so at least you'll have a good indication x

How you doing @NoseringGirl ? The not knowing if defiantly the worst bit x

I've tested about 3 more times today with cheapie tests just staring at them wanting there to be a another line and convincing myself that maybe there's a faint one if I tilt it in a certain light and look at it with one eye half shut. I hate how I get around testing. It must be nice to just test and throw it away, feeling confident in the answer. Will almost certainly test again in the morning.
I feel quite cross with myself for getting like this but also just really bitter about the circumstances that have turned me into this obsessive weirdo when it comes to pregnancy tests.
Sorry for the complete negativity (ha!) just need to get it out somewhere.

Last cycle I got a bfn and sent my other half out for another test due to the untrustworthy nature of the brand ( it was untrustworthy because I was definitely pregnant and the test was wrong) obviously the test as well as the next three where correct and I was not pregnant. I go insane at least once a month you are not alone. Also hopefully your story won't end like mine and you just know your body like many others x

Sorry for the bfn @NoseringGirl I'm exactly like you and @impatientmammy drive myself crazy with the tests (DH gets really upset with me because he knows I'm making it worse for myself) but patience goes out the window. I have a stupid amount of photos of FRERs in different lighting, different times, negative pictures and opened. Drives you mad eh 😩 have you had anything today? X

@NoseringGirl sorry for the bfn but you aren't alone with the crazy testing. I tested on Saturday, the earliest it would have been was 6dpo but possibly not even that! Bfn obviously but then went back and looked later and it had a line that was clearly a dye run but I was still over analysising it. I now have no tests in the house so there is no temptation!
