Yammers thread 10!

Yammer rules:

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement. Please read the rules before posting!

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shalt not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shalt not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night
  • Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

-Thou shalt not post pictures of positive pregnancy tests. We will be delighted to hear about it but no photos, please and thank you

Trying not to get my hopes up but I am gonna test tomorrow. Yesterday I had a Yorkshire pudding and spat it straight out because it tasted like chemicals (DH said they tasted normal) and then I've just tried to eat kiwi and again spat it out because it tasted sour and vile. Everything else I've had tasted normal so don't understand what's going on? Someone talk me down please

cupcakesandglitter · 11/06/2019 17:51

Never mind. Used my last FRER, BFN obviously. Have no FRERs now and fully expect FP to turn up by the end of the week. Eurgh.

dragonmummy17 · 11/06/2019 21:55

@cupcakesandglitter sorry for the bfn. It's horrible when you really start to get your hopes up and then see it. Might it be because you didn't use fmu?

SA results came back incomplete. Not sure why as DH thought he had the full sample... maybe he didn't keep it warm enough?! Anyway, he'll have to do it again which means waiting longer before our referral which is frustrating

cupcakesandglitter · 11/06/2019 22:25

@dragonmummy17 thankyou - and maybe. Actually I didn't think about that, and annoyingly now I won't be able to test until Thursday morning providing I have time to get a test tomorrow 😩 maybe I'll wait. God I would so fucking love to get a BFP and give it to DH on Father's Day. Sorry to hear about his SA - DH has been referred again and it's next month which means that's two months since the first one. Is there any way he could do it at a hospital to make it easier? No idea how the home way works sorry x

NoseringGirl · 12/06/2019 00:04

@cupcakesandglitter sorry for the BFN. Definitely try again FMU if AF stays away. Keeping everything crossed for you!

@dragonmummy17 what a nightmare with the SA, so frustrating for you both! Are you far from the hospital? My DH was really stressed about getting his sample there (especially as his mother worked at the hospital back then, he reeeeeally didn't want to bump into her!)
Our GP told us that one of her other patients got caught 'producing' the sample in the hospital car park as he wanted to make sure it was fresh Blush she had to phone the hospital security and back up his story!

cupcakesandglitter · 12/06/2019 16:14

Thanks @NoseringGirl spotting has started so stupid period will be here by the evening. I'm bummed but I'm also in London for the evening so might have a couple of fags and a drink, I need a night off

GlassSuppers · 12/06/2019 16:29

Hi all,

I've not posted before. Do you mind if I join or am I too late?

impatientmammy · 12/06/2019 16:30

😩 I hope you have a good night though @cupcakesandglitter you def deserve it the not knowing stage is heartbreaking x

dragonmummy17 · 12/06/2019 20:37

@GlassSuppers hi... all welcome!
@cupcakesandglitter sorry for the spotting. enjoy your night out and a few drinks
@NoseringGirl that's made me laugh so much... he must have been so embarrassed!
We aren't far from the hospital but I had the car so DH cycled over. I guess its a 'we live and learn' moment and we'll plan better next time so he has the car

Thank you! Been TTC for 18 months after my first born (3) and have had no luck.

Really affecting my mental health now so have tried to take a break from it all Sad

NoseringGirl · 12/06/2019 21:17

@cupcakesandglitter sorry to hear FP is on the way. Enjoy your night off! I quit smoking nearly 8 years ago now and still miss it Blush if I had just one though, that would be me done for good. I can't be trusted!

@GlassSuppers welcome! Sorry to hear about your struggles. I've found this thread so supportive. I hope you do too!

@dragonmummy17 I wonder if the cycling cooled the sample down a bit too much then? At least you know for next time!

I've no idea what's happening with my cycle. My temps have spiked the last couple of days and if I was just looking at that, I'd have thought I'd ovulated.
I haven't had a positive OPK yet though and they've been getting darker. I've been using the Femometer ones this month (first time using them) and the app analyses them and gave me a high reading today. I've attached my chart and the OPKs in case anyone has any insight!

cupcakesandglitter · 13/06/2019 10:09

Thanks ladies. Didn't end up drinking but I was out all night and definitely smoked 😂 @NoseringGirl I was a proper smoker too but I can just about handle a couple here or there, only when I really really need them. Last night was a great excuse for one 😂

@dragonmummy17 I'd definitely give him the car next time, and keep the car super hot too! X

@NoseringGirl I'd semi ignore the OPKs, and go by temps - if your temps continue to stay up I'd say you've ovulated too, sometimes people don't get a positive on OPKs either x

impatientmammy · 13/06/2019 11:10

hope your feeling a bit better today @cupcakesandglitter x

NoseringGirl · 13/06/2019 14:21

@cupcakesandglitter sounds like a good night, hope you're feeling better for it!
I don't always gets positive OPKs either but whenever it happens, it puts me on a edge a bit. Had a temp dip this morning but FF gave me crosshairs so... 🤷🏼‍♀️

Yammed if you do, Yammed if you dont
NotMaryWhitehouse · 13/06/2019 15:56

@NoseringGirl yeah! Go your ovaries! Hopefully this is settling into a pattern for you 🤞🏻

NotMaryWhitehouse · 13/06/2019 15:57

@NoseringGirl I'm not going to use opks this month, they have definitively not helped! Just temping.

cupcakesandglitter · 13/06/2019 18:31

Thanks lovelies, I've just got back and just feel really sick so I think when she hits in full force tomorrow I'm gonna be bedridden again 😩 onto another cycle I suppose.

@NoseringGirl fx it's a blip, I think you've ovulated wahooooo!

@NotMaryWhitehouse I purposefully used mine up for that reason, they're too stressful and easy to over analyse for me 😂

dragonmummy17 · 13/06/2019 20:29

@NoseringGirl I think you already ovulated too
@NotMaryWhitehouse I only used opks for 3 cycles as I found them stressful and only the really expensive ones seemed to work for me. I don't temp either but I think I will start if no bfp this cycle
@cupcakesandglitter glad you had a good night

DH picked up his SA results today. Most looks ok but volume 0.85ml and total count 12 million. I can't see how this was because the sample got cold? DH insists he got all of it.
I was wondering if the GP would refer us without having to wait for the results of a second test?
Frustratingly we are at different GPs so this is separate to the referral which is with my GP

NoseringGirl · 14/06/2019 08:30

@cupcakesandglitter hope you're feeling okay! Has FP hit yet or is it staying away...?

@dragonmummy17 could it have dried out in the cold? I'm honestly not sure how it works! When we got referred to the fertility clinic a few years ago, my DH had to do a couple of samples in case one wasn't accurate but I think they put the referral in between samples as I had irregular cycles and wasn't ovulating. Worth asking anyway!

My temp dipped again this morning and FF has taken away crosshairs. This happens to me far too often. I hate how my body gets my hopes up like that.

GlassSuppers · 14/06/2019 09:58

What's the process for going through a fertility clinic?
I already have 1 DC but haven't been able to conceive for 18 months of trying. Will I still be able to attend one?

dragonmummy17 · 14/06/2019 20:57

@GlassSuppers I have a DS but have still been able to get a referral. You need to go to your GP who will do basic tests before referring. I am unsure how much help we will get on the NHS after the initial appointment though.
@NoseringGirl that sounds frustrating and confusing

cupcakesandglitter · 14/06/2019 21:24

@NoseringGirl nope she's turned up, stupidly heavy and painful again. Found out an old super close family friend is pregnant. She was so blasé about having children as well. I'm actually furious, I can't control my bitterness right now! Sorry your temp has dropped, but try and stay positive - you know you ovulated last month so fingers crossed this is just a blip and your body tries again... sorry, I know it's a shit situation x

dragonmummy17 · 14/06/2019 21:33

@cupcakesandglitter so sorry. What a rubbish day. I hope you have something nice planned to treat yourself over the weekend
