Yammers thread 10!

Yammer rules:

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement. Please read the rules before posting!

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shalt not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shalt not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night
  • Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

-Thou shalt not post pictures of positive pregnancy tests. We will be delighted to hear about it but no photos, please and thank you

Hello! Not much going on here. I was convinced AF would make an appearance today. I've had painful cramps the last couple of days but nothing yet. CD41 today.
Metformin isn't making me nearly as ill as last time I was on it. So glad I asked for the extended release as it seems to be coming with less side effects.

@todaywasafairytale positivity sounds good, I struggle to maintain that sometimes!

@cupcakesandglitter I completely understand that. I've always found the trying to relax approach a lot more stressful! Where in your cycle are you?

cupcakesandglitter · 11/03/2019 21:35

@NoseringGirl when are you going to test? Do you know when you ovulated? I'm on CD12 atm - no idea when I'm going to ovulate but I'm not too arsed about tracking it just yet. I've been extremely horny the last couple of weeks - I've had two sex dreams (I actually had a sleep orgasm for the first time in my life Blush) I think I'm just gonna try to have sex as much as possible and then wait and see, still trying to lose weight as I go xx

todaywasafairytale · 11/03/2019 21:41

@cupcakesandglitter @NoseringGirl I'm with you, relaxing is actually more stressful for me too.

I'm alright, currently in the TWW. I wish AF would just arrive the day after ovulation if you're not preg, would save all this waiting around for half of the month. It's no good!

NoseringGirl · 11/03/2019 21:44

@cupcakesandglitter I always assume increased sex drive is a sign of fertility, like the body knows what it's doing. Get on it Grin
I don't think I've ovulated. My temps have been up and done which is I think my hormones being all over the place. I might test in the morning as I've got some cheapie tests in the bathroom drawer and then I can rule it out but looking at my chart I think it's anovulatory so far. I've ovulated once since last July and it was in CD44 last cycle.
Here's my current chart...

Yammed if you do, Yammed if you dont
cupcakesandglitter · 11/03/2019 22:49

@todaywasafairytale I hear that!! TWW is the worst! I've stopped symptom spotting but it's still crap, I'd rather start a new cycle! X

@NoseringGirl oh I intend to 😂😂 I'd definitely test in the morning - if anything at least it'll give you something to go on right now. My temps are shit every cycle I've taken them so I can definitely relate xx

Had my progesterone test today, just been told it’s a good result and I’ve had a good ovulation. Onwards to pregnancy test on Fri 22nd. Can’t use home test as Ovidrel HCG shots will make it inaccurate. Also found something to occupy my time...

Yammed if you do, Yammed if you dont
NoseringGirl · 12/03/2019 08:44

That's a good pile of books @BGDino great news about the progesterone. Keeping everything crossed for the pregnancy test!

I got a BFN this morning unsurprisingly. I hate being in long cycle limbo. When my cycles were regular, they were only ever around 26 days. Having cycles that go on this long and are mostly anovulatory is excruciating Sad

BGDino · 12/03/2019 10:00

Can someone please explain how you calculate what CD you are? I'm confused!

Aph413 · 12/03/2019 10:06

@BGDino CD1 is when you start your period induced or otherwise so you just go from there. Is that what you meant?
I have 16 clear blue advanced digital sticks with a holder. Not 100% sure if the holder is ok but does anyone want them?

NotMaryWhitehouse · 12/03/2019 11:56

@BGDino that's is a good selection!

NotMaryWhitehouse · 12/03/2019 11:57

I bit the bullet at the weekend and bought some clear blue ov sticks. I am 99% sure I ov on day 13/14, but thought I would give them a go on the off chance I am missing something.

BGDino · 12/03/2019 18:00

That makes me CD21 then, I think...

BGDino · 14/03/2019 12:14

@NotMaryWhitehouse I had to stop myself from buying some FRERs when I was at the chemist today... I know in my head that the Ovidrel trigger shot I had will make them inaccurate but my heart so wants to test... Good luck with yours, will keep my crossables crossed for you.

NoseringGirl · 14/03/2019 12:20

Well done for staying strong @BGDino hope the time to your test passes quickly!

CD44 for me now and had a positive OPK. I ovulated around this point last cycle so hoping that might happen again. I had a positive OPK on CD16 though and didn't ovulate then so who knows what will happen. I miss having regular cycles, much less stressful.

How's everyone else doing?

Aph413 · 14/03/2019 15:16

Well dobe for resisting @BGDino. I know how you feel @Nosering my cycles were all over the place.
I think I've got my bfp. I tried to convince myself not to try this cycle and to concentrate on weightloss since it was helping regulate my cycles. Still ended up using opks etc and now I think we've done it. 13dpo due on today or tomorrow. Nice strong positive but panicking like all hell at every twinge. 18 months of trying so far. It doesn't feel real.

NoseringGirl · 14/03/2019 15:32

Oh wow @Aph413 congratulations! That's so exciting!

cupcakesandglitter · 14/03/2019 15:48

Omg @Aph413 congratulations that's fantastic ❤️ can I ask what you've done differently? I want to lose weight too but I don't want to do extreme exercise when we're still TTC x

impatientmammy · 14/03/2019 15:53

Congratulation @Aph413 that amazing !!! X

Aph413 · 14/03/2019 15:54

@cupcakesandglitter it was just general calorie counting using my fitness pal and aiming for 20 minutes activity a day. I'm 26lbs down from my heaviest, I've gained 4lbs since ovulation. Technically still have 60 to go but I'm not sure what to do now. I may stick with using the cross trainer at the gym, I don't want to gain loads of weight.
That's all I've done differently really, I stopped taking all vitamins too actually although I've obviously restarted folic acid today

cupcakesandglitter · 14/03/2019 16:25

@Aph413 that sounds sensible, thankyou - crosstrainer could be good x

Aph413 · 14/03/2019 16:37

@cupcakesandglitter I normally love to hulahoop but I don't want to chance swinging a 1.5kg weighted hoop around my stomach even though googling suggests it's safe!
Anxiety kicking in to overdrive now. I only took the test to get it out of my system ready for my period.

impatientmammy · 14/03/2019 16:46

@Aph413 give your cross trainer a heads up and they'll adapt accordingly for you. I wouldn't feel safe with a waited hoop either x

NotMaryWhitehouse · 14/03/2019 16:50

Congratulations @Aph413 , nice to see some good news!

Aph413 · 14/03/2019 16:51

@impatientmammy I just mean the cross trainer machine at the gym, or elliptical is the other name. Sorry if I confused you
Might start walking too.
My husband doesn't want me doing anything strenous so no weight lifting or hula hooping. Didn't run in the first place so I'm not going to start now Grin

todaywasafairytale · 14/03/2019 22:02

@Aph413 congratulations! That's fantastic! Try to enjoy this feeling and not worry too much if you can.
