Hi @Lozzlepop how've you found it? My first month post pill was evil.

I'm pretty sure everything but my eyeballs hurt last month at some stage!

KatBeCool · 18/01/2019 18:12

@cupcakesandglitter can't believe DH tried to help you! I just tell mine I want to be alone. He doesn't know what I'm doing. Although before @Crossfitgirl telling her story I was just laying there.

So I HSG done today. My tubes aren't blocked! Wahoo! The right one was a bit slower to pass the dye so hopefully it just got flushed out from this. The whole thing took less than two minutes. Having a catheter shoved up my uterus did not feel good! I got so dizzy and lightheaded from that. Obviously just personal experience as I read many different versions of what happens.

DuchessofPemberley · 18/01/2019 18:24

@KatBeCool that's great news! You must be so relieved Smile

Jessikka · 18/01/2019 18:40

I feel like head butting the wall shopping for a BBT!

Every single one on Amazon are filled with negative reviews about accuracy.

I'm getting nowhere fast with this!!

Bettythecat · 18/01/2019 18:46

@Jessikka why don't you get the Natural Cycles app? Then you get a free one

MrsR16 · 18/01/2019 18:53

@Lozzlepop wine's definitely where the fun is right now! 😂 sorry AF arrived...

@Cinderella812 welcome to this thread! I don't use lube personally, but I do know a few graduates of this thread have used Pre-Seed with great effect!

@honeylove aw hun, sorry for AF!

@Jessikka @Beddie11 My AF's weird this month... kind of here, but not really! I've had the tiniest amount of brown blood come through, had bright red yesterday morning, but only very small amounts of anything!

@FivexFive you'll be great lovely! And you're definitely allowed to rant on here - we're all up for supporting each other through good times and bad! As far as this weekend, I'll be standing outside on Sunday marshalling a cross country race (going to freeze and take 10 hours to thaw I reckon!) 🤣

@KatBeCool awesome news!!! Must be a relief xx

Cinderella812 · 18/01/2019 19:16

How does anybody deal with not pressuring their husband during the fertile window? I think biology classes were very lacking! Mine was under the impression I could fall pregnant any day of the month, effectively at the drop of a hat!

I’ve had to deliver a mini-seminar on fertile windows and ovulation... mine has said he doesn’t want me to tell him when it is, because he doesn’t want pressure. Instead, he’s asked that I just put it on our joint calendar, so he can look if he wants to, and “if it happens then, it happens”. I suppose we are just “not not trying” for a few months, rather than actively trying with charting etc. I just take the prediction from the Clue app, but no temperature taking or OPKs for now.

Given how tiny the window of opportunity is, I don’t think my husband’s “not not trying” approach is going to be very successful...! Confused

MrsR16 · 18/01/2019 19:34

@Cinderella812 it's so difficult... I'm now in cycle 7 and I've tried both ways - letting DH know I'm in fertile week and not! Neither has worked. He does feel more pressure if he knows, so he prefers to not know and just let things happen. However, this month might change as I'm planning on temping and using OPKs to figure out what on Earth's going on with me!

TrashKitten10 · 18/01/2019 20:34

@KatBeCool great news, you must be very relieved :)

@Keyboard91 Congratulations! This must be a very lucky thread for BFPs

Bettythecat · 18/01/2019 20:47

@MrsR16 @Cinderella812 mine is totally on board with it as I think he wants a baby (nearly) as much as me! I tell him all about the sex schedule and the SMEP and everything else and he even suggested doing an extra one for luck this time!! Luckily it seems he doesn't get performance anxiety!! 😂

@TTc2019BabyNo1 I'm dying to know what the other tests you did tonight looked like?!

Xx

Bettythecat · 18/01/2019 20:49

P.s @Cinderella812 we have tried the pre-seed lube this month for the first time so will report back if af arrives or doesn't. DH says it feels nice 🤭🍆 so I guess it's maybe worth it just for that!

KatBeCool · 18/01/2019 20:50

For those saying if I feel relieved, Absolutely!!!! Cramping horribly but I guess it's worth it. But now it makes me wonder what's next. DH semen analysis was good, my hormones are now good, my tubes aren't blocked. So medication?

@Cinderella812 DH prefers that I tell him in the morning if we're going to DTD. I've read that if men think about sex for hours, there's "more stuff" produced. Definitely true, at least for us.

@ValidUser when is your surgery?

Bettythecat · 18/01/2019 20:56

@KatBeCool did you get your tests done privately or NHS? I'd quite like us to have some tests too. How long have you been trying for now? X

KatBeCool · 18/01/2019 21:08

@Bettythecat SA and HSG were done privately. Had the Mirena coil taken out in May, first proper cycle with timely ovulation was in July. Then in September I found out my thyroids are underperforming, so while they got within the range within a month, it took another couple months to affect my lady parts, my periods were far too light before that which means the lining was too thin. Only the last two periods were normal. So while I started back in May, my body wasn't properly prepared. One thing for sure, I can't recommend enough testing the thyroids. I never even thought they affected so much - the luteal phase length, the lining, the production of other hormones needed for conception.

Bettythecat · 18/01/2019 21:31

@KatBeCool how did you find out about the underperforming thyroids then? I actually was looking at those tests today so might actually invest in one. Might also do the SA because I think unlike us who have at least a few physical signs of our cycle, you're clueless about men really aren't you.

FlapJackered · 18/01/2019 21:42

@Crossfitgirl glad you're feeling better. Not long to go now! When is your scan? Definitely not as relaxed this cycle. Because of the Isoflavones I have been poas since cd10 and it's now cd18 so feel a bit like I am going insane! 😂 I am hoping I get my static tonight. So going to try to Dtd tonight and tomorrow night which will hopefully cover us. DH is never keen on Dtd more than every other day so it's going to be a challenge to get him to see it through. I just need to remember all your amazing seduction techniques 😂.

@cupcakesandglitter haha! I can just about remember 😂 I am SO far away from that chill now! I need to try and find a way to tell him to bugger off after sex! How are your opks going? Mine are getting darker so I am hoping I get my positive soon!

@KatBeCool wooooo! That is such good news!! Hopefully they are nice and clear now for a positive next cycle! 🤞🏻Did it hurt at all? I was thinking of asking my GP if I can get it done. Have you got a GP appointment to discuss the next steps?

OP posts:
KatBeCool · 18/01/2019 21:55

@Bettythecat my gp ordered it, together with glucose, vitamin D, and whatever others are that test for iron levels. I shared that I'm TTC, so she was very much concerned to be sure that my TSH levels were good. Which they weren't...

KatBeCool · 18/01/2019 22:05

@FlapJackered I'm going to ring them Monday for next steps. It hurt like demons from hell are rising when she was putting the catheter into my uterus. I literally started blacking out, I was so lightheaded. And she's like "oh you gotta relax". Well my brain knows to relax, but my body was feeling quite murderous and ready to kick her. Plus the speculum wasn't helping. Once the damn stick was in, it was better, and I didn't feel the dye going through much. It was really cool to watch it on the screen though. I took a picture when I was getting dressed. Sent it to DH, his response "am I looking at your colon?". Men! And then a forgot to grab a pad from home so they gave me this diaper-like pad, ugh lol.

AngeloMysterioso · 18/01/2019 22:08

Evening all!

I'm getting a bit concerned now... I'm still bleeding, not heavily, but it sort of keeps changing... first it was light spotting, then a bit of slightly older looking blood, and today quite red and fresh looking (sorry for the TMI).

I did an FRER this morning (I know, I know... I had no intention of worrying about it this month until this started) this morning and it was negative... but the last time I got pregnant I got a BFN two days after my period was due so I don't know how much I trust it.

Could it be an implantation bleed or is my period just randomly a week early?? It was a week late in November... I have no idea wtf is happening!

KatBeCool · 18/01/2019 22:35

@AngeloMysterioso as much as you want an answer now, you need to give it a few days. If it is implantation bleeding, the hcg needs time to rise enough for a test. Do you temp? That might be helpful.

Crossfitgirl · 18/01/2019 22:38

@cinderella812 I used to just come on to my DH when the fertile window was. The month I told him I was ovulating and it would be a good time, he literally refused sex and we completely missed the whole window, and had a huge barny about it! I found it better to just let him think i was up for it randomly (jumped on him soon as I got the positive opks) and just never took no for an answer. I had to learn to be much more confident in the bedroom though! We did have more open conversations about TTC in later months, and he did get on board with SMEP when he realised that actually 6 months on its not so easy to get pregnant. Good luck. It's tricky! Just find what works for you!

@flapjackered haha yes I think the main was to strip completely naked and straddle him? 😂 I also loved texting him something naughty in the morning to get him thinking about it all day! @katbecool's reading definitely rings true! My scan is on 28th Jan, so a week on Monday. Not long to go til I get to confirm there is actually something in there! I am in full on maternity jeans already as the bloating is so bad, (yes, purely for the bloat, there's no bump yet nowhere near that stage!!) so there best be a good healthy one in there for all this uncomfortableness!

Fingers crossed for the positive OPK soon, hope the soy things do the trick - your odds must be so very high now anyway 11 months in, how have you found them? Glad DH is still on board with every other day! Amazing work! How much have you spent on POAS so far this month?? I hope you've hidden the frers in advance this time!! Lol xxx

AngeloMysterioso · 18/01/2019 22:48

@KatBeCool I don't, wishing I did now! Honestly I was so chilled out about the whole thing this month, even though DH and I DTD like crazy during the FW. Now this is making my head spin Sad I was crushed in Nov when my period showed up a week late and I got my hopes up.

FlapJackered · 18/01/2019 22:51

@KatBeCool 😂 😂 your colon! Men can be hilarious sometimes!
oh god! I am such a wuss with pain I don't know if I would cope with that! Will have a chat to the GP and see if they think I should if I can work up the courage!

@Crossfitgirl 😂 not the bloat! That does not sound fun! Although at least you have the excuse you're pregnant and it's not just pizza! 😂
🙈I dread to think of the cost of all the opks! The CB is on its 3rd cycle though so I am making it last!
In fact I would hate to know how much I have spent on supplements, opks etc since ttc. This month alone I decided to go for proceive vitamins which cost £50 (didn't realise they only last for one month 😬).
Still flashing smiley this evening 🙄 so those Soy Isoflavones don't seem to have helped ovulation at all! We are at a friend's house and DH is downstairs so I don't think we will Dtd tonight, but as it's still flashing I might just jump on him tomorrow morning instead.

@FlapJackered pain is such an individual experience though. Some women feel nothing, some feel pain if tubes are blocked, some say it's bearable, some say it was horrid. I took 800 mg of ibuprofen before I went. Highly recommend. It didn't kill me lol, so you should be fine.

cupcakesandglitter · 18/01/2019 23:21

@KatBeCool I think he didn't want me to think he'd forgotten about me... if it hasn't happened before he's finished I'd rather be left alone to sort it myself 😂😂 glad your HSG went well - sorry it felt crap but good to know you're not blocked x

@FlapJackered I hear you, I'm sliiiiightly panicking 😂 my OPKs are shit, I'm so upset. I have some throughout the day that are sort of darker than normal but I've had two "almost positives". I'd take those as my surge but then my normal ones keep varying so I don't know what to think really. I've been temping though, and I've definitely not ovulated yet. Guessing I'll either ovulate late or have a weird cycle 😩 glad yours are getting darker though, what's your plan with DTD? Xx
