Apologies for the long post, but a horrible day at work meant no break for me so no catch up with this thread!! Bear with me ladies...

@Nextchapter19 that's exactly how mine have gone! I have very light periods, with maybe 1 day of heavy flow, enough to use a tampon. I didn't even have any period pain with the last one - it's very strange!

@19Bee2 you never know what's going to happen! Lots of ladies on here say that as soon as you start TTC, your cycles go pear shaped!

@Random2468 aw sorry to hear about AF being super early! It's so frustrating.

@DayDreamer1707 I'll think about testing Saturday if AF hasn't reared her ugly head by then! I think I might have a long cycle - I reckon I ov'd late.

@MrsAW2018 2 years?!? That's a hell of a long time! I sincerely hope you don't need to get referred and that you get your BFP soon! That said however, you're not out till you're out!

@DuchessofPemberley yay for getting your FW pinned down properly! That's exciting!

@sjkent18 welcome! This is the best place by far to share your journey! These ladies are all incredible.

Ladies can I ask you for your opinion? Apologies for the poor quality pic attached, but the last few are from yesterday/today. The darker one is an almost positive but not dark enough to be a positive iygwim. I went to the loo and when I wiped I had EWCM - but when I checked my cervix it's quite creamy? Has anyone had this? I'm thinking I may have just missed my surge last night (I'm going to carry on with OPKs just in case). What do you all think? X

Not sure how clear they'll be, but for those asking about the clear blue smiley sticks, here are some snaps detailing Some highlights from the leaflet instructions. Mostly around - symbols, when to test, the holder, etc. I'll also post a pic of the box so you know which type I'm on about!

I haven't used mine since Nov, but will start them again in Feb if needed! Xx

Please can anyone signpost me to a list of Conception related acronyms on Mumsnet? I'm just about to start TTC and don't understand half of these conversations! Not all the acronyms seem to be on the main MN list?

P.S just screamed at DH for not making the right salad for our packed lunches 😐🤭... usually a tell tale sign that af is on her way when I start being totally irrational 😫

Ttc - trying to conceive
Poas - pee on a stick!
Frer - first response early results (pregnancy tes brand)
Ewcm - egg white cervical mucus (we're all waayy to close on here!!)
Fw - fertile window
Af - period
Dtd - doing the deed. See also bd, for bone down!
Optk - ovulation testing kit
Bfp - big fat positive
Bfn - big fat negative
Dh / dp etc - dear husband/partner

Anyone think of any others?? Xx

I don't know if there is an official list other than the main mumsnet one which explains quite a few but I think I've worked out the following from the TTC boards:

BFP/BFN- Big fat positive/negative (pregnancy test result)
OPK- Ovulation prediction kit
FMU- First morning urine (the wee you are best off using when testing)
FRER- First response early result (brand of pregnancy test)
CD- Cycle day
DPO- Days past ovulation
AF- Aunt Flo (period)
TWW- Two week wait (between ovulation and expected period)
POAS- Pee on a stick (take pregnancy test)
FW- Fertile window
CM- Cervical mucus
EWCM- Egg White cervical mucus
DTD- Doing the deed

I am prepared to be corrected however :)

Also, I'd probably scream at my dh just for suggesting salad, hormones or no hormones!!

Can I join you here too? Cycle 1 of ttc our first. I thought I'd be pretty laid back/not really think about it during the tww due to just not expecting to fall first time, but oh my goodness! I'm 5 days in and analysing all these stomach twinges/pains that I'm getting that I don't normally have. I'm fully aware it's probs not going to be baby related but just proves to me I'm not as chilled about the whole thing as I thought! So here I am on the edge of my seat with the rest of you, if you'll have me!

@sausageface with a name like that how could we refuse?! 😂😉 I don't think anyone can understand the emotional rollercoaster it is until you've been through it! It really is crazy how obsessed you become right from the start! X

@cupcakesandglitter what cd are you and are you testing twice a day? If you are then it seems unlikely that you could have missed it. I'd say it looks like it'll be in the next day or so. I generally test once in the morning before work and then again when I get home.

😂 Bone down is a new one on me too but will now be forever what BD gets translated to in my head! Now I see where it's from I love it even more!

@AnnaMC214 I'm CD14 and testing three times a day atm, but just don't know how long to hold it in for 😂 all of today's have been faint again, so the dark one is an anomaly right now... hoping I get a positive soon, I've not done an OPK in months! Xx

@Bettythecat haha I'm awful at thinking up usernames but I thought it was unlikely something like that would be taken already!
10 days apparently til AF.. hopefully I won't be too neurotic in that time!

@cupcakesandglitter I really don't think you could have missed it then. Perhaps that one was less diluted or something so looked stronger. Also I know you can get mini surges at other times so maybe it was just one of those. Fingers crossed you get a good strong line soon!

@Nextchapter19 Yes I'm the same. Came off the pill in November and had my usual withdrawal bleed..5 days with 3 quite moderate - heavy. Had my first proper AF beginning of Jan and lasted just 3 days! All very moderate compared to before.

@FivexFive - Bone down 🤣🤣 Love it. Made me giggle. Surely we should want Bone Up though - BU i know it's not a bone. Ohh I'm digging a hole. Lol. Moving on...thanks alot for the leaflet confirmation. I had read it all but my memory is like a sieve. I think it'd confused me about you not being able to buy the sticks separately so I'd thought you had to stick with the same sticks and holder if that makes sense? Thanks again. I got a flashing smiley this morning so hoping the static comes soon. The Flo app predicts Sat 19th as O day so we'll see if they match up.
