Hi ladies,

I suffered a silent miscarriage end of October and was just looking to start a thread for ladies in a similar position to me, who are trying to conceive at the moment. Would be lovely to have some support and guidance.

@Catconfusion I'm so sorry you're having such a rubbish month. I know it's agonising but could you bear to not to track your cycle for a month or 2? After my first miscarriage I was totally obsessed for the first couple of months and had no period / light spotting, then I just sort of gave up, tried to do some meditation / yoga /acupuncture and then my cycles came back and I conceived...I mean I'm hardly a success story (!!) but maybe worth a try?

I'm back at home and just taken the tablets for medically managed miscarriage. I'm not all that hopeful as they didn't work last time but fingers crossed.... if they don't I'll have to wait until end of next week for surgery again (Easter delaying things...)
At least I can be at home for the medically managed attempt this time!

jacquesjacques · 17/04/2019 19:08

@Gpmg84 I'm so sorry you're having to go through all this. It's so u fair. My fingers are very tightly crossed that the medication works and it's all over with very soon. Thanks

Gpmg84 · 19/04/2019 07:59

Thank you @jacquesjacques sadly the drugs didn't work. Apart from giving me unpleasant cramps and an upset tummy 😡....

So I'm booked in for another op on Monday morning. It's another d and c but they are going to use ultrasound at the same time.

Risks of scarring etc are much higher as it's my 3rd op in 6 mths but as I'm considered high risk of infection now so not much choice...

In the meantime I'm going to eat lots of Easter eggs Smile

Xx

Gpmg84 · 23/04/2019 08:08

Hi ladies

Hope you all had a lovely Easter?
Op went ok yesterday and have follow up appt. in couple of weeks.

Have either of you noticed any weight gain post d and c? I'm 6 pounds heavier than I am usually!! Feeling so gross, I'm also covered in psoriasis from all this stress so feeling mega unattractive 😥

I guess some of it will be hormonal. Just SO want life (and my body!) to return to normal now.....

Hope everyone else is doing ok. Xx

Catconfusion · 23/04/2019 08:27

I just saw this. I'm so glad the op went well and I'm so sorry you had to go through it again @Gpmg84

I put on a stone with my mmc. I assumed the rest would come off with the surgery but it hasn't. I do wonder if the hormones make it tough for a while. I felt like the pregnancy put a band of fat around my waist that won't budge. It's like a protective layer I guess.

I'm trying to be more active though to shift it. It's so hard when you're feeling sad. How's it going with your job? Xx

Gpmg84 · 25/04/2019 19:14

Hi @Catconfusion
That sounds exactly what has happened to me....I have the same band around my waist!
I definitely think hormones have played a part but l have also been comfort eating a lot of chocolate too....
It's hard as I want to up my exercise to shift the extra weight but have been told to limit my exercise so guess I just have to go with it for now - and maybe I'll lay off the choc for a few days 🤣 - as you say it's hard when I feel so damn sad!
Still bleeding etc from my op but feeling physically ok. I am back at work and it looks like I have a new temporary role sorted there for the time being... so that's a relief!
How are you doing?
Has your cycle got any more regular for you? Xx

Catconfusion · 25/04/2019 20:22

Hey @Gpmg84 good to hear from you. Yes I swear it's the hormones. Even when I tried eating well it wouldn't go. I just feel like my body has changed.

I'm so glad you're back at work and have another temp position. I wouldn't worry about the comfort eating. You've been through so much and there's time to up your exercise levels.

I finally got a sustained rise this morning. I ovulated on day 36 which was Tuesday. I had a feeling as I was tidying and nesting all day. DH also had his sperm analysis that day so we'd had to abstain for two days before it. It's just typical. We did dtd on Sunday though so still covered. Apparently two days before is still good.

Over the last few days I've been getting up for the toilet in the night, had dry mouth, sore boobs etc. It's crazy as only 2 dpo but i can't help but wonder if we may have caught again. It's a little scary the thought we might have done but I'm keeping positive.

I'm actually ok either way as this cycle has been a marathon. It's just nice to feel like my body is working again.

I do hope your bleeding stops soon! Xx

Chanel05 · 25/04/2019 22:13

Hello ladies I wondered if I could join? I've had a mmc and am awaiting my ERPC next Wednesday. I found out 12 days ago that the heart had stopped beating and have been devastated ever since. We are planning to ttc as soon as the bleeding stops after the surgery.

Catconfusion · 25/04/2019 22:25

Hey @Chanel05 I'm so sorry for your loss. You poor thing, it's such a shock.

Just a word of warning about trying straight after the surgery. I did after my ERPC and sadly then had a chemical pregnancy. I've spoken to three other ladies on here who that's happened to.

The GP and hospital both said fine before so thought it was safe. I later saw a gynaecologist at the hospital. He told me despite what other doctors say the lining takes a while to recover and you're much more vulnerable to an early miscarriage straight after an ERPC.

If I'd known that I wouldn't have tried so soon. The chemical pregnancy messed up my hormones and cycle generally much more than the mmc so I feel like it's held us back even more.

That aside I really underestimated how much time I needed to grieve for my baby and recover. I'm only just ok a few months later.

Of course some people are lucky and we're all different but I thought I'd share because I wish I'd known how common back to back miscarriages are. Xx

feelinghopeful2 · 25/04/2019 22:40

Hello everyone.
Hoping I can join too.
I also had a mmc at the end of February and was a couple of days away from the 12 week mark.
We were waiting for my first period to return before trying again, as that’s what we were advised. Tuesday I finally got a positive result on the OneStep Ovulation Test (has anyone used those? How do you find them?) so did try this month but I’m not hopeful, I’m trying to be realistic and remind myself many people have to try for a while and I’m lucky to already have a toddler, just desperate for a sibling!

Xxx

Catconfusion · 26/04/2019 10:19

I'm so sorry for your loss @feelinghopeful2 Did you get a negative pregnancy test before you tried?

As I said you OP you can be quite fertile after surgery but also more vulnerable to a chemical pregnancy. It's a bit of a gamble which is probably why they told you to wait. If you'd rather not know if that has happened I'd do a hpt late I.e. after when you think your period would be due. If it's a strong positive that's great. If you'd rather know either way test with first responsive 10-12 days after you think you ovulated. If it's a faint positive it may be a chemical pregnancy. Try again in a couple of days, if still faint it's probably a chemical. If it's got darker, great it stuck.

I have used those opks and got good results.

Good luck and let us know how you get on! Xx

feelinghopeful2 · 26/04/2019 16:31

Thank you @catconfusion, yes I did get a neg test on March 15th, just over 2 weeks after. I didn’t have any surgery - it all just happened naturally over a week or so and as I had a neg test within 3 weeks they didn’t need to do anything further. Yeah I’m really not expecting it to have happened already so I don’t think I’ll bother testing until my period is significantly late if I can help it. Thank you, hope all is going well for you too. Xxx

Catconfusion · 26/04/2019 19:04

@feelinghopeful2 sorry for the assumption. What a traumatic week that must have been. Simply awful. I don't think you'd be so much at risk of another loss if it was natural. Obviously the risk is always there to some extent. Interestingly on another thread I'm on 3 of us fell pregnant straight after the mmc. We all lost as straight after surgery so there definitely seems to be increased fertility. Good luck! Xx

feelinghopeful2 · 26/04/2019 19:55

@catconfusion, oh no it’s okay, I know it sound awful but I was glad it happened the way it did; there was never any development in the sac so I didn’t have to pass anything too large, although obviously getting to 11.5 weeks was the biggest kick. Yeah that was the biggest worry of why we were waiting, although I know it’s really tough at the time. I’m so sorry to hear about how it all happened for you, I hope you have more luck this time around. Xxx

EC418 · 26/04/2019 22:01

Hi ladies, i am new to this app and was introduced by a friend as she has found it very helpful. My heart breaks for each and every one of you 💕

I found out i was pregnant with my first in January after our first month of trying. Then on 6th March (at exactly 11weeks) that i was losing my baby....2 days before my husbands 30th birthday party. I scraped myself together and endured what was one of the most emotionally painful nights of my life. How i did it, i do not know but I did not want to look back at his 30th and let my mc ruin it too.

On 12th March the bleeding began and i had to be brought to a&e due to the amount of blood loss as i was filling a pad every 10 minutes. I had a horrific time after this physically for around a week. The hospital advised to let my body miscarriage naturally. Back to be scanned another week later and i was all clear.

We waited to get a negative pregnancy test and my AF. This week is my fertile week and we have been dtd however im trying not to put too much pressure on it. If its meant to be it will happen. But cant help wait for the TTW to be over so i can test 🙈🤣

I wish everyone on here the best of luck in their journeys and hope we can all support each other 😘🌈 xxx

Gpmg84 · 29/04/2019 22:41

@EC418 welcome to the thread and I'm so sorry for your loss. It's such a rollercoaster emotionally and it must have been so tough getting through your husbands bday party.
How are you doing this week?
Sending big hugs x

Gpmg84 · 29/04/2019 22:45

@Catconfusion how are you this week? Are you still getting symptoms? Keeping everything crossed for you!
Bleeding has stopped. We have decided not to 'actively' try to conceive for a while... at least until tests are done etc. I don't think my poor body could take much more at the moment so giving it a break.
Just bought a nutribullet so am on a health kick 😂
If we do though that would of course be a lovely welcome surprise!!
Hope you're doing ok xxx

Gpmg84 · 29/04/2019 22:45

@jacquesjacques just wondered how you're doing? Xx

Novasky1 · 30/04/2019 08:34

Hi all, I've this thread from start to finish last night and it has been very carthatic! So so uplifting to see those of you getting your rainbow bfps. I had a d&c last night after discovering a MMC at 8 weeks. Off work this week so of course I'm on Dr. Google since trying to finding answers and hope that all will be ok. Hoping to commence TTC again asap. Hope it's ok to stick around x

jacquesjacques · 30/04/2019 09:07

@Gpmg84 Bless you for asking! I'm good actually, I had a scary week around week 10 where all my symptoms disappeared and I thought 'here we go again'. So we paid for a private scan at 11 weeks and all was fine. I've got my 12 week scan on Thursday and then I feel like I might be able to relax! Hope you're recovering well my love and feeling more positive?

Catconfusion · 02/05/2019 12:52

Hey @Gpmg84 I'm so pleased the bleeding has stopped. Nothing wrong with a health kick just take it slow and give yourself a treat once in a while.

I really hope you get a nice surprise bfp!

I did a test today at 9 dpo and it was negative. I've been getting lots of pregnancy symptoms so it feels a bit like I'm going mad. I'll test again in a couple of dats just to make sure xx

FirstTimeMama91 · 03/05/2019 07:28

Had one last CB left. It was annoying me every morning! So finally did it today. It's been 4 weeks exactly since MC. Hate these 2 little words Sad AF hurry up!

Novasky1 · 03/05/2019 10:35

Catconfusion · 03/05/2019 10:37

I'm so sorry @FirstTimeMama91 hopefully your first AF is on the way xx
