Hi ladies,

I suffered a silent miscarriage end of October and was just looking to start a thread for ladies in a similar position to me, who are trying to conceive at the moment. Would be lovely to have some support and guidance.

xx

@CLLN2310 it's such a horrible situation to be in, especially when there's little to no help to be had. My GP did test my progesterone levels after mc2 but he literally just told me the levels indicated I had ovulated (which I knew, because I don't have problems conceiving!) but didn't bother testing me when I got pregnant to see if they were high enough to sustain a baby.

It's actually shocking how little care I've received, if this one doesn't work out I'm going to try and go private although I don't know how we would afford it.

Gpmg84 · 30/03/2019 11:22

@jacquesjacques the waiting must be torture. I'll keep everything crossed for you! Are you feeling sick etc?

I've just been seen by a nurse who told me she had 2mmc then went on and had her 2 sons. She was told the reason she mmc was that she can't carry girls! I had my ds in 2017 and my 2 mmc have been since then so this has got my head spinning...
Has anyone ever heard this theory before or know if there's any scientific evidence behind it??
Xx

@jacquesjacques I obviously ovulate too and I’ve never doubted that. The saddest thing is it seems the emotional aspects of going through this multiple times are not considered. Even if completing a test gave peace of mind it would be worth it. When mental health is such a big thing at the moment it such a shame that the nhs treat these situations so ‘medically’. I know there is a point where they have to say no but private options are so expensive most people have no hope of going down that route and multiple miscarriages I can only imagine have a huge impact emotionally. I’m normally quite a positive person but I feel completely helpless following just one and the thought of trying again for further disappointment is difficult to consider. Especially when my gut feeling is there’s a reason behind it.

jacquesjacques · 30/03/2019 11:55

@Gpmg84 I feel slightly sick but it's not been that bad - boobs are a killer though and I'm tired (that may be from all the knicker checking and worrying though!). Last time I had all the symptoms right up until almost 12 weeks so I don't trust my body that much any more!

There are definitely some medical reasons for seemingly being only able to carry one gender as there are disorders that you could be a carrier for which only affect either girls or boys - think Turner Syndrome is one of them!

@CLLN2310 I know my love, it's cruel and shit and unfair. I'm a really positive person and this has tested me to my very limits. I would say keep going to the GP with concerns and keep pushing for answers where you can. I found doing lots of reading (medical and articles, rather than internet forums which can have the opposite effect) and getting some solid knowledge helped me, I knew what I might be dealing with. I read 'Miscarriage: what every woman needs to know' by Lesley Regan and it was excellent for answering some of my questions. The kindle version (downloaded to my phone) was super cheap and just really put my mind at ease.

chocolatecake08 · 31/03/2019 08:54

I have just caught up. I haven't been on hear for quite some time. I hope you are all well.

@Gpmg84 so sorry for your loss❤️

@Em39ma @pandaobsessed how are you two? X

chocolatecake08 · 31/03/2019 08:55

** here not hear🙈🙈

Em39ma · 31/03/2019 09:19

@chocolatecake08
I’m good thank you. 11 weeks today. Feeling very 🤢all the time, but only 🤮 very couple of days.
My 12 week scan has come through but I will be about 14 when I have it, so paid for private one tomorrow. We saw the heartbeat at 7+3 but the worry never goes away, so didn’t want wait any longer.
How are you doing?

chocolatecake08 · 31/03/2019 09:25

@Em39ma

Did you try those gin gin ginger sweets?

I will be 17 weeks this week and feeling so much better than the earlier stages. I don't miss the sickness feeling.

I hope the scan goes well for you, very positive feeling for you x

Gpmg84 · 31/03/2019 09:47

Hi ladies, update from me. Am still in hospital after spending the whole of yesterday bleeding heavily and taking repeat doses of the drugs I still haven't miscarried. The docs have prescribed me with the same thing again today. If this doesn't work then I'll either have to have surgery or go home.
I'm feeling absolutely desperate, I just want this all over with now! I have been reading so many stories of people that this hasn't worked for and am lying here wondering why on earth they offer this as a treatment.....
Of course today had to be Mother's Day didn't it! X

Gpmg84 · 31/03/2019 09:49

@chocolatecake08 and @Em39ma lovely to hear positive updates from you both. I know it's such a worrying time but hope you can enjoy some of it. X

Catconfusion · 31/03/2019 10:33

Hi @Gpmg84 I'm so sorry you're going through this and today of all days. I really hope things pass soon so you don't need the surgery. Are they willing to do it today on an emergency basis if things don't progress? It might be for the best as you must be exhausted. What did the doctors say about the risks of a second surgery? I was under the impression very low risk but at the same time horrible to face it again and the worry of something going wrong, even if unlikely. I'm thinking of you! Xx

Catconfusion · 31/03/2019 10:35

Congratulations @chocolatecake08 and @Em39ma Wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy! Xx

jacquesjacques · 31/03/2019 11:43

@Gpmg84 oh you poor love. I'm so sorry, it's just so unfair. Here to hold your hand xxxxxxx

pandaobsessed · 31/03/2019 19:16

@chocolatecake08 not doing too bad thank you. On my second cycle (AF started yesterday) since my second miscarriage, so will keep my fingers crossed for a lucky month this time round. We are in the process of buying our first home, so that's keeping my mind occupied. How are you doing?

@Gpmg84 I'm so sorry to hear what you're going through. I haven't gone through this route, but I have had the surgery. I just hope you're not waiting and suffering for too long ☹️ thinking of you 💕

Hi @jacquesjacques and @Catconfusion thank you so much for your messages. I got home a couple of hours ago which I'm so happy about! Got to go back in again tomorrow morning for a d@c - medical management definitely not a winner for me! Can't wait for this to be over! xx

Em39ma · 31/03/2019 20:35

Glad you are home for the night @Gpmg84.
Hopefully you will be all sort tomorrow.
And then get yourself better and see how want to move forward

Catconfusion · 31/03/2019 20:40

@Gpmg84 I bet you're glad to be home. Good they're getting you in quick for surgery. Good luck for the morning. I'll be thinking of you. Let us know how you're getting on. Xx

chocolatecake08 · 01/04/2019 07:11

@pandaobsessed

Fingers crossed for you🤞🏼
How exciting about the house it's nice to have something else to focus on than TTC.

Im good thanks, feeling a lot better than the earlier stages! X

Gpmg84 · 01/04/2019 07:47

@pandaobsessed good luck with the house move. That's so exciting and I agree a lovely distraction from TTC!

Just waiting for surgery now. It was so nice to spend last night at home in my own bed.

Do you mind me asking if your periods have returned to normal quite quickly or if they're lighter? after my last d&c mine were just a little bit of spotting for first couple of cycles. I had acupuncture as heard that's meant to help thicken lining etc. Everyone is different of course!

Xx

Em39ma · 01/04/2019 21:39

My DP said it looks like a squid.
But all good and still measuring at 11+1weeks.

Gpmg84 · 04/04/2019 19:12

@Em39ma congratulations! What a lovely scan pic Smile. I hope you're able to feel a little more relaxed now? X

Em39ma · 04/04/2019 20:00

I’m starting too @GPmg84.
How are you feeling this week?
Starting to feel a little better?

tinatsarina · 04/04/2019 20:06

I had a miscarriage middle of Feb baby Kasia got to 8 weeks, 9 weeks bleeding started but it was when I was 10 weeks I got the scan to say there was no heart beat. Bleeding and spotting finally stopped last week. According to ovia fertility this week was my fertile week. We have been DTD every day or so.
Not sure how accurate ovia is at the moment so I'm keeping an eye on my cervix, high, soft and seems open.
I hope this is right and it is this week.
Any advice?

FirstTimeMama91 · 09/04/2019 09:36

Hi ladies Thanks was 7 weeks when started bleeding on Friday and Saturday. Scan and bloods have shown I've miscarried. What a difference a week can bring Sad im 27 it was my first pregnancy and first cycle trying so I know we were very lucky. Just so disappointed it's so unfair.

I'm looking forward to trying again. I need to have some hope back and have something to look forward to. My hcg levels went from 1940 to 400 saturday to yesterday so I'm hoping they continue to drop quickly x

Catconfusion · 09/04/2019 09:41

I'm so sorry @FirstTimeMama91 and @tinatsarina it's such a difficult time. Know that you're not alone. Lots of support on here.

@tinatsarina are you temping at all? I find it's the best way to see what my body is doing.

@Gpmg84 how are you getting on? Xx
