Just popping on to say hello!
This is our my first cycle of ttc our second and whilst I'm trying not to get too carried away it is such a different experience from first time round (happy accident). Currently cd11 so just beginning the FW according to clue.

I'm taking the seven seas conception vitamins because they're mini pills and I hate enormous vitamins!

thosethreewords · 05/01/2019 23:58

@iano @hodgeheg92 thanks guys. Definitely feeling better today. I've realised that I'm not out this month because my next AF would be 28th Jan!
I've got an exam at the end of jan though so actually I'm glad there's no risk of nausea for it! (Positive thinking!)

ZoeRoma · 06/01/2019 09:22

Can I join you too, please? This is our first month TTC#2. We have a little boy who's 4 months old :D

Regarding coffee, I had a cup of proper coffee or a couple of mugs of tea throughout my first pregnancy, and my baby was far from a low birth weight at 8 lb 8 ounces :) My gynaecologist said anything was fine in moderation - except undercooked meat, but I'm veggie so that wasn't an issue.

ohsure · 06/01/2019 12:02

How is everyone getting on? Hi to all the newbies

AF is due on the 10th and have somehow resisted the POAS temptation 😬

ttc12019 · 06/01/2019 13:12

Hi 👋🏽
Took these 2 ovulation strips, one last night and one just a short while ago. Last night was clearly not a positive but the one I just took now is confusing me.
I'm using Glow as I'm finding it much more user friendly. I do have another 3 apps on the go which are saying 11th is ovulation day. Glow was saying the same but it's now changed it to the 10th for some reason 😐
Any insight would be very much appreciated 😊 thank you xx

I think I'm 10 dpo but haven't been using OPKs, although I did use them when TTC#1, so can't be sure. I already peed on a stick lol. Negative, as you'd expect.

@ttc12019 I don't think that's a positive OPK yet x

ohsure · 06/01/2019 14:09

I haven’t done OPKs yet - just using an app which is probably not all that accurate 😆

Hope you weren’t too disappointed, zoeroma - negatives are always bloody crap.

cosycashmere · 06/01/2019 14:14

I'd like to join!
First month ttc number two, DS is 18 months. I've gone from not even contemplating another to desperate for one pretty much overnight!

LaBelleSausage · 06/01/2019 14:18

I’d like to join as well. DS is 13 months and I’m currently in the TWW, will be testing in Friday or Saturday if I can hold off until then. It’s CD21 at the moment.

ttc12019 · 06/01/2019 14:34

Thanks @ZoeRoma! Looked pretty much the same to my inexperienced eyes!
Did you test everyday until predicted ovulation day?

ttc12019 · 06/01/2019 14:35

Hi @LaBelleSausage & @cosycashmere 👋🏽

ZoeRoma · 06/01/2019 17:27

@ohsure Nah, we'll be delighted if we are lucky, but I'm not getting myself into a state like I did last time!

@ttc12019 I tested twice a day until I got a positive, but also we made sure to have sex a couple of days before I was due to ovulate, to cover all bases lol

Fishbaby · 06/01/2019 18:10

Hi! First time posting anything here on mumsnet. waves Yet to get the hang of any of these abbreviations yet... Is there a glossary somewhere? Confused Early apologies for typos, on my phone, it never predicts what I actually want to say so since funny things slip through.

Anyway, started ttc (that's an easy one) a couple of days ago. Came off pill sometime between 17-20 Dec. Basically I forgot to take my pill then decided not to bother.

Had withdrawal period a week and a half ago. Now... Just waiting for my period. I have to admit I'm nervous. I haven't been in my full period since 19 and I will be 34 this year. I remember being very cranky, mildly hysterical and very uncomfortable. I was at uni at the time, not full time employment. So I'm really worried about bleeding. I have bought myself loads of modibodi period pants.

I'm more worried about that at the moment than getting pregnant which I'm hoping will come in time. Bought myself some ovulation strips and a thermometer. I've decided that... I'm just going to try to have sex every other day and try not to worry too much. I want to know when I'm ovulating but not regiment it around those days.

I can't really accurately predict anything now until I get my full period. I feel impatient! Get on with it already! I bought myself a load of reusable sanitary towels and anxious to try them out... But also I can't really track anything until I've started it. And I have to admit... I do love a good graph.

Anyway I'm talking too much because I'm anxious/excited. It took me a long time to even decide I wanted children, probably due to did years saying I didn't until I did a bit of soul searching and realised I always have wanted a child. So this feels mad to me. Trouble is everyone in my family literally thinks I don't want children, so it'll be a surprise to them...

ttc12019 · 06/01/2019 18:21

@ZoeRoma
Just took another one and there wasn't even a second line there.
I've read that every other day is the best option, like you said to cover all bases.

SuziQ10 · 06/01/2019 18:53

Ovulation was likely last Monday, 31st December. So that would make me 6ish days PO.
No pregnancy symptoms.
Will most likely cave in and test 10day PO anyway! That'll be Thursday.
How is everyone feeling this month?

hodgeheg92 · 06/01/2019 21:26

Hi everyone!

Was feeling nauseous today and I swear my hair is getting greasy quicker (happened last time, it'd be greasy the moment I dried it during the first trimester), I think we missed my FW (fertile window) last month though with our sudden change of heart about TTC #2 so I'm probably just making the symptoms up.

DD had an awful night last night, me and DH maybe got 6 hours very broken sleep each (and that includes him having a lie in to catch up). So I've been overly emotional today - reminds me of the hectic newborn days! Not giving up though.

I've never used ovulation sticks before (are they OPKs?) so no idea on that front. But plan to DTD every other day around the FW if I'm not already pregnant and the day of ovulation of course.

Prettyplease202 · 06/01/2019 22:05

Would love to join this thread. TTC #1 6dpo and I may be crazy (trying not to get over excited!) but I’m sure I have some symptoms. Need to share as haven’t told any friends that we are TTC as want to avoid the pressure. I have: insomnia and crazy dreams, slight spotting, mild abdominal cramps and tender and full breasts. Really trying not to go crazy as I wait to HPT

ZoeRoma · 07/01/2019 08:41

@ttc12019 Maybe that was your peak after all, then, or just before... Tbh I think once you get a reasonably strong line, it's worth doing the deed anyway, since sperm can hang around for longer than the egg can x

ttc12019 · 07/01/2019 08:52

Oh I took another test this morning too! There's a line there again.

TTC JANUARY 2019
justsparklex · 07/01/2019 09:19

Hi Everyone! Just started TTC this month. I hope you all get the BFPs you are all hoping for very soon. I've been tracking my periods and using opks, since coming off the implant in August. My periods have only just got into a regular pattern and over last 2 months I've had very strong positive opks the day before and on my ovulation dayGrin I wasn't getting a positive at all before this! Maybe my body has finally got back to normal, or maybe I was just missing the LH surge.

Tell me if I sound completely crazy, but I went to a spiritualist a few weeks back and she told me I'd be pregnant in the next few months, she got everything else scarily spot on so we shall see. She even named the one name we have agreed on for a girl( it's not a very popular name)apparently my grandad (passed) had told her that's the name we will choose. She said we actually will be getting a little princess. I feel stupid for having hope over something like this and feel like I'll be very disappointed if it doesn't now happen, But hey ho! good luck everyone Grin

careynurse · 07/01/2019 09:21

Hi all! Hope you don't mind me tagging along!

I'm 30years old, and currently been TTC 1st Baby for 8 months!
AF came yesterday with a bang! I had convinced myself I was going to get a BFP! Such a let down every month!
I'm temping and using fertility friend and also having reflexology. Reflexology has helped align my cycles I feel as I had been on the depo for 10 years! Came off it June 2017 and didn't see a period until June 2018! I also have a very stressful job so I know this also doesn't help me odds!

I'm becoming obsessive and every time I start a new period I put in my new dates for my ??new due date! And figuring in my head annual leave/ maternity leave at work! I do hope it's not just me! The 2WW is horrid! My DH is very supportive but I know he's getting more disappointed every month now.

Any extra tips to try this month? We do legs up the wall, and DTD every day around ovulation and take folic acid and zinc!
Going to the GP this week to see if I can have some basic blood tests to check my health- I know they won't do anything fertility wise until it's been a year!

Keeping everything crossed for everyone x

Goodyear2019 · 07/01/2019 11:29

Hi, hope you don't mind me joining. I'm new to the site and just getting the hang of all the abbreviations.
I'm 34 years old, trying for first baby with DH. This will be our 7th month of TTC. Getting a bit disheartened already :-(
I've been using Flo to log my cycle/predict ovulation etc. About to try Ovia so I can log my BBT as well. I've been tracking my BBT for the last 2 months but just writing it down.
Any advice/tips more than welcome. Hoping everyone gets the outcome they're hoping for! :-)

ZoeRoma · 07/01/2019 15:20

@ttc12019 That's strange... I'd keep testing just so you can start to get an idea of how the OPKs work for you. Everyone's different, and I've heard that some people never get a full positive even though they're ovulating.

Welcome and good luck to the new ladies!

ttc12019 · 07/01/2019 16:38

@ZoeRoma I'll be checking tonight again when I get home after work. First time using these so it'll be a case of getting to know how they work for me I guess.
We have been dtd every other day so hopefully I've caught it. I have a weird feeling in my lower back today xx

ZoeRoma · 07/01/2019 16:48

@ttc12019 Good luck, then. It sounds as if you've got the timing right, anyway!
