Hi all 😁

I'm ttc#3. Cycle 2 starting today as my period has arrived. Looks like I'm back to a 26 day cycle after a couple at 30 days.

I'm still learning about all this ovulation malarkey and my 2nd hand Ava bracelet arrived yesterday so we'll see how I get on with that. Was getting all negs on ovulation tests and spending a fortune! At least I can sell on the Ava 😉.

I have 6 and 3 year old boys

EssJayyCee · 31/12/2018 15:43

@ohsure thank you, it's going to be a great holiday. I'm just worried I'm going to end up with AF while I'm there 😕

I use Clue to record my periods and symptoms and I've been looking today into doing BBT charting. Should I get another app for recording that or will Clue be okay do you think?

EssJayyCee · 31/12/2018 15:46

Welcome to the thread @Peaky1
I have looked at so many different things to track ovulation but the ones I really want to try cost so much! Like natural cycles and Ava.

Peaky1 · 31/12/2018 15:52

I know the feeling @EssJayyCee! I was already spending on different types of ovulation tests and still getting confused and frustrated with them so I reasoned with myself that I could buy a 2nd hand AVA and sell it when I'm finished with it. It's going to turn me into a bit of a Statto though, lol!

htillson · 31/12/2018 15:59

Hi all

My husband and I are TTC #1.
Had a molar pregnancy in August and we just started TTC again in December. The first pregnancy was a surprise after one 'oops' the day after our wedding so I think I'd got it into my head that it would be easy and I'd be pregnant as soon as we started trying again! AF is due today and have had several BFNs this past week and it feels like AF is definitely going to make an appearance today...here's hoping for good news in 2019 🎉

catswan · 31/12/2018 18:19

Hi there 🤗 hope I'm alright to join in the conversation...
My husband and I have decided 2019 is our year to give things a go.
I came of Desogestorel November, and other than a bit of spotting, haven't had any signs of a period yet.
Any advice for a complete novice?
So tempted to take a test every week 🤣
Good luck everyone x

Val87 · 31/12/2018 19:03

Hi! I’m TTC #2! #1 is 7 and was a surprise. Been TTC almost a year now with no success.

ttc12019 · 31/12/2018 19:21

Hi @Val87, @catswan & @htillson 😊
Welcome!
Just a recap from me:
29 yrs old
Ttc #1
CD 33 days
Cycle 1
Just started temping and taking folic acid.
So excited! FW is week starting the 7th of Jan and supposed to O on the 11th.
Look forward to sharing this journey with you. But since it's NYE, am treating myself to a glass of Prosecco & Chambord. Currently chilling with DH and our dog, Ted. xx

PyjamasForever · 31/12/2018 21:03

Hello everyone, hope I can join you.

TTC #2. Had my coil out Thursday and having a withdrawal bleed (or maybe period?) now. Crossing my fingers that things go to plan, but worried they won't. 1st baby was a surprise, so didn't go through all the worrying and planning that time.

@essjaycee I went to Madeira in November. It was lovely!!

lucky88 · 31/12/2018 23:28

Good luck to everybody. 💐

Ttc #2. DH and I are both 28, been trying for 5 cycles. Today or yesterday = apparently ov day.

Gearing myself up for another 2ww. Time moves at snails pace for 2wk. Finding the whole ttc process quite stressful and emotionally draining.

ohio91 · 31/12/2018 23:50

Hey everyone!
Hope you guys don't mind me joining in. Commenting on a few different threads, trying to remember which one's and keep up with everyone lol.

Age - 27
TTC - #1
CD - 13
Irish but living in America (I know that isn't super relevant but may be interesting to some)

This is our first proper cycle trying. We thought we were trying last month and I had myself convinced I was pregnant up until AF showed. I downloaded ovulation apps and discovered the month before we had missed the boat by a day or two lol. Trying a lot harder this month! Opks, preseed, DTD every other day since CD 7 but now will DTD every day until ov has happened. Haven't had a surge in OPK yet, it's definitely getting stronger but no obvious surge. Glow expects me to ovulate on 2nd so that should be about right!

Baby dust to everyone. Here's to a happy and healthy new year and hopefully we will see some wonderful BFPs in this thread! ✨🥰

ttc12019 · 01/01/2019 09:24

Hi @ohio91 , @lucky88 & @PyjamasForever !

Happy New Year ladies 🥳! Here's to hoping we all get our BFPs soon!!

Today is our last day off, we're back to work tomorrow so will have to keep an eye on the days to dtd as we are both in quite hectic jobs.

I can't stop myself looking at baby clothes & other things since there are sales everywhere and we could have saved some money getting things now. Had to stop myself from buying anything! DH might think I've lost it if I do😅 plus it's only our first cycle ttc!
I've told my 2 best friend we're trying but don't want to tell anyone else, not even my mother as she'll be lecturing me all the time.

Anyone else keeping it secret or being quite open about it? Those who already have kids, how did you get on the first time around?

EssJayyCee · 01/01/2019 09:39

Just a quick question for those of you temping. How did you choose a thermometer?
There are so many out there and they all have good and bad reviews and I can't choose one!!

PyjamasForever · 01/01/2019 09:51

@ttc12019 I'm keeping TTC a secret to my side of the family (who feel one child is enough) but being very open with my closest friends and my ILs who absolutely adore children and can't understand why DH and I have waited so long to have a second.

ttc12019 · 01/01/2019 09:53

@EssJayyCee
There are so many out there! Depends how much you want to spend. I didn't want to spend much as I'm doing BBT as an extra along with 2 cycle tracking apps - Clue & Maybe Baby. So I got a cheap one from Amazon. Both apps are currently in sync for me and predicting the same FW & O days.
Complete novice at this as it's only cycle 1 for me but am generally a thorough person
😅 so trying to cover all bases. Haven't gotten into OPKs yet though 😆

TTC JANUARY 2019
ttc12019 · 01/01/2019 10:06

@PyjamasForever
Good to know! We won't be telling either side I think. I'll just feel pressured 🤭
My IL are very supportive and absolutely love kids but my side are a bit funny and they'll be more bothered about expenses, the house and me being off work which will stress me out as we have been discussing this for so long. I've managed to save quite a lot in the last year so I just want to be able to enjoy this and finally try for a baby.

EssJayyCee · 01/01/2019 10:07

@ttc12019 yeah there are loads! I don't want to spend much either but the reviews of some of the cheaper ones all say they needed new ones within a couple of months or whatever so I wasn't sure if ij should spend a bit more on one that shouldn't break.

But I think I am just going to get a cheap one. I might not get on with temping so there is no point spending too much.

I use Clue as well alongside Glow because I use Opks and Glow has a camera thing to help you determine if they are positive or negative.

My cycles are so irregular so none of the apps are in sync with my body because there is just no way of knowing when AF is coming or not. So I wanted to try and chart to see if I could see any kind of pattern with ovulation alongside other symptoms and signs.

It's so complicated this whole TTC thing.
I remember growing up thinking it could just happen through unprotected sex! I didn't realise how much timing played a huge part until now!

Choo89 · 01/01/2019 10:15

Hello!

Hope it’s ok if I join! TTC first baby! Came off the combined pill at the end of November, had a withdrawal bleed then had my first period on Christmas night after a 27 day cycle. I got a strong positive opk on day 17 Confused wasn’t really trying then, just trying to get a handle on what’s going on after 10+ years on the pill.

Using apps and opk sticks to track.

So currently on CD7 and excited and hopeful for the new year Wink

APositiveMind · 01/01/2019 10:23

Good morning! Hoping to join here ladies.
Ttc #1
Cycle day 9. Predicted ovulationon the 12th of Jan! I dispose waiting to ovulafe and then having to do the tww aswell!

I downloaded another tracking app this morning, found one that tells me when in my fertile period of be more likely to have a boy or girl. Does anybody know if there is any science behind that kind of thing?!

Hbs21 · 01/01/2019 11:24

Hi everyone!

I'm new to this site and wondered if I was okay to join the thread.

Currently on my first month ttc baby number 1 and I never realised how confusing the whole process can be lol. Trying so hard to not get to impatient and worried about the whole thing but can't help it!!

ttc12019 · 01/01/2019 11:47

@EssJayyCee
I bought mine a few months ago although I only started using it seriously in the last week.
I would just get a cheapo one for now. Get used to doing it and stuff and then if it doesn't work for you maybe get a proper one?
I try and temp around same time as well.

ttc12019 · 01/01/2019 11:48

Hi @Choo89 , @APositiveMind & @Hbs21 👋🏽

ttc12019 · 01/01/2019 11:51

@APositiveMind
We're nearly cycle twins, am predicted to O on the 11th.
I've downloaded the Maybe Baby app after seeing it on Luisa Zissman's insta but it's £4.99.
Don't think there's any actual science behind it but it's worth a try if you're biased towards wanting a boy or a girl. Either way, a healthy baby is what we all want 😊
Good luck 🤞

APositiveMind · 01/01/2019 11:57

@ttc12019
Health is the main priority definitely!
Happy cycles to everyone here! Flowers

Proudmummy88 · 01/01/2019 13:17

Hi there. Hope it’s ok to join this thread. Never posted before but love reading everyone’s threads, stories and journeys.
My husband and I are ttc our first baby together. I have 3 children to my previous partner. I came off Cerazette 14th December, had my withdrawal 16th for 6days and started light bleeding tester after 4 days of bad cramps and headaches. I was convinced I was pregnant already (I know a bit delusional!), oh well, always next month etc. I thought it would take me a while to even start bleeding but it could also take a while for a BFP. Good luck to everyone on here hoping for positives this year. I cannot wait. This baby is very much wanted but also trying to relax and just not stress about it. But as we all know that is way easier said than done!!!
