Gulp. BFP this morning. 4 weeks and 2 days I think so really early days. Really pleased but not sinking in. Third time lucky...please!!

ZamMummy I was going to ask about the lack of sex drive. Since the MC in March I havent felt like it at all. The only reason why we have been BD is that we "must stick to the schedule"!!! But once we are BD I do enjoy it, thank god!

EllieG · 11/07/2007 08:59

Hurray hurray winkygirl! So pleased for you lady x

Aude75 · 11/07/2007 09:34

Congratulations WinkyGirl!! This gives us all hope. I am very confused this morning, due to acute impatience, did an ovulation test this morning and was very surprised to see a smiley face (meaning I am ovulating) staring back at me. I had an ERPC only 9 days ago, am I really ovulating or could PG hormones still present in my system give a positive? Anyone had this before?

Morning ladies
hEY WINKIY OOPS CAPS LOCK CONGRATULATIONS!
Am crossing everything for you you fertile Momma you!
I am CD25 but no idea what this means. Had some EWCM last week and some funny pains this week but am clueless. Looking forward to scans etc so I at least know what is going on. I have also had terrible sex drive - last year when started ttc i was like a cat on hot bricks - couldn't keep hands off DH. Now is harder - and the prerssure gets more every month that goes by.
Had a good cry yesterday - felt so gutted about my friend - I had had such a good day - I won a teching prize (£10,000 for new kit ) and got other stuff up and running but as soon as she told me her news I just thought sod it - none of this matters cos I would give it all up in an instant to be PG again arghhhh and waaaaaaailllll and hoooooowl
Poor DH had to comfort me - I felt shell shocked - oh to be NORMAL again
Hey Aude I had hear of it through a friend who was PG too who's SIL had had one. I got obsessed would be me (maybe i felt something was wrong). I was swollen most of time PG and always felt body rejecting it rather than welcoming PG (had constant period pains that needed a hot water bottle most nights). However, nothing can prepare you for finding out was dead - and nothing could have prepared me for the profound effect this has had on my life...
Anyway - no use moping - I am off for hen do this weekend and on hols next wednesday so am going to bloody well enjoy myself!

Morning gilly how are you? How's the move coming along? We should put a date in for cakes and tea etc? I am taking it easy in August so can do any time - week day afternoons are good as is a short train ride from work and then can't get sloshed on rose as we all know is a little weakness of mine - am bound to get nervous and down a bottle in first 10 minutes and
xxxxxx
p.s. who else is joining us? Torres? Winky (cake and caffeine free tea for you lady), littlebit, herby??? Ellie - where do you live?

OP posts:
EllieG · 11/07/2007 10:18

Have a good one Popsy!
Selfishly - am glad it's not just me who seems to be a little bit loony at times
Did exactly same with my DP the other night and think I caught him bit by suprise poor man! But he was very nice about it.

EllieG · 11/07/2007 10:20

Hey x-posts there - I am in Jersey so not so easy to pop over, but do come to big smoke reletively often as my sis is there. Will be there in sept but probably not Aug as going on hols soon and then another week in Wales mid to end Aug. But have a luverly time and maybe I'll catch the next tea n' cake session x

herbaceous · 11/07/2007 10:50

Pass the cake and wine this-a-way, ladies. I'm game. Weekday afternoon might be a bit tricky, what with that pesky old bugger called work, but I might be able to swing an afternoon off. All in a good cause.

As for missed miscarriages, I didn't know they existed until I went for my 13-week scan and the baby had died at 11 weeks. It's the most terrible shock. My last m/c was a missed one too, though my first three took the more traditioinal bleeding and agony approach.

Congrats Winky! Inspiration for those 'symptom-free' last few days before AF. Or, indeed, yet more cause for madness! I have all prehensile appendages crossed.

MrsMcJnr · 11/07/2007 12:10

Hello Winky yay! Yay! Yay! congratulations hon! Deeeeeeeeeep breathes!! I?m so pleased, take good care of yourself, I am soooo delighted for you

Victoriagirl ? I know exactly how you are feeling. I felt/and often feel exactly the same. Many congratulations on your new baby , a fresh chance for a new beginning ? I know it is sometimes so hard to remember that and to remember that there is no reason why this time won?t be different. I wish you every success. Time and more mileage in the new pregnancy definitely helps, I?m 13+1 today and sometimes I even believe that we?ll have a baby at the end of this

My1stbaby ? how are you hon? Has it stopped?

Thanks Aude I have my nuchal scan tomorrow so am both terrified and excited. It means the dating scan should be less stressful as hopefully I?ll see a healthy bouncing baby tomorrow. Everything crossed It is hard when you have friends with due dates near you. When I lost my LO, I had 9 pg friends, one of which was/is due the week before what would have been my EDD (7/10). I felt so isolated from them because they kept away from me and I had to explain to them all that, no offence, but I wanted my own baby not theirs and therefore I really cared for them and willed their LOs to be fine but knew that they were not mine. It is easier dealing with the feelings now that I am pg again, I do admit that and I hope that on 7/10, I?ll be glad that I?m not in labour but have 15 weeks to go! Very possible you could be OV, the ERPC is like the end of a period as far as your lining is concerned and as I said before it is perfectly possible to OV when you still have HCG levels of 40-50, get busy lady!

Weasleybug ? like the name! sorry about AF have a great birthday on Sat at least you can have a few drinks without feeling guilty about anything ? I know what you?ll be wishing for when you blow out those candles same as me on my B?day last year

Hello Ellie take care hon x

Hey Popsy Lovely news for your friend Popsy (same as me!) your turn will come soon x Enjoy the Hen and the holiday

Hello Lorla sorry for your loss hon and that you haven?t been well all the best with TTC

Zammummy ? I loved that software I felt the same as you, empowered by the knowledge, I?d been on the pill since I was 14 (medical reasons) though I actually should never have been on it at all (more medical reasons!) and knew nothing about my cycle. I charted for 8 cycles before being successful (sadly MC) but then got straight back into it and after a very weird and long cycle, I conceived again the following cycle You should join the temping buddies thread and the chart spotters, lots of like minds! I think the thought of sex turns you off for a while after a MC as it reminds you physically somehow..good luck hon!

victoriagirl · 11/07/2007 12:31

winkygirl- congratulations. Good to have another one to add to the terrified but cautiously optimistic group.
mrsmc- thanks for your message. Really hope the nuchal fold goes okay. Feel somehow connected to you- and popsy- as mc's were at similar times and we seem to have been on similar journeys
zammummy- yes I thought it was me- totally went off sex the last few weeks before pg. Was convinced i had developed some awful phobia due to the stress of everything! But can safely say, now the pressure has eased a bit, things are getting back to normal- phew! (Although obviously now I am convinced that too much bding is going to somehow cause another mc, so still a bit reticent at times!)
I have rebooked dr's appt for this pm to see if i can get early scan as next week seemed such a long wait.
Wish I lived near london (and didn't work) so could join the big cakefest. Sounds great and entirely necessary.

Aude75 · 11/07/2007 12:55

MrsMcJnr, I'm off for a long weekend in the French Alps tonight (can't wait!!) so won't be online until Monday but I will be thinking of you tomorrow. Do let us know how you get on. I have never had a scan where I did see a healthy bouncing baby yet so you'll have to share that with us, so excited for you!!
And don't worry, I will indeed be very busy this weekend, hoping I am indeed OV and will make the most of it. DH is delighted! ;) All the best! Axxxx

popsy76 · 11/07/2007 13:11

Hi ladies - what is the TCOYF software and do you have to pay for it? Off to get myself a thermometre - think will help feel in control (oops here I go again )

OP posts:
Aude75 · 11/07/2007 13:17

Hey Popsy, I did exactly the same thing last week but I think I didn't get a precise enough thermometre (despite buying an electronic one which looks like the one my doctor uses and paying £39.99 for it in Boots) as it has only one decimal point. I have heard since that you need one with two decimal points. I have been trying to take my temperature but it's been declining (from 36.8 yesterday to 36.7 today) and yet I got a positive ovulation test this morning. I am extremely confused!! I hope it works for you though, so I thought I'd share this!

popsy76 · 11/07/2007 13:19

so do you reckon find a diff one off the net? oh god it is all so comple isn't it??

OP posts:
torres · 11/07/2007 13:31

Hello ladies,

Thank you all so much for your kind words after my latest 'wobble' last week. I was feeling so alone and scared and lots of you responded and it really helped, alot of people I know in RL just don't seem to understand what I'm going through. Thank you so much. I have an appointment with my nice GP next Tuesday so until them am trying to keep busy. Its my birthday on Monday and am going camping for the weekend in Dorset so plenty of distractions.

Definitely up for August cakes- am free the whole month apart from the bank hols. Could probably skive an afternoon too if thats easier for others. Wheely is in London and Siameez I think

winky- WOW!! fantastic news! So so happy for you. Do keep in touch with us and let us know how you are. Your MIL's comments about carrying a baby full time did make me laugh!

victoriagirl congrats too!! and good luck, hope you manage to get that early scan

my1st- how are you hon, are you feeling any better? Thanks for your comments about acupucture and herbs. I've booked an acupuncture appointment for next week. I'm a firm believer in giving things a go and the act of actually doing something makes me feel so much better.

beckle thanks for your kind words- how are things with you. I often think of you and the mothership graduates (without meaning to sound like an obsessed stalker)

gilly hope the move is going well. Thanks for sharing your counselling experiences- am going to ask my GP about it- I wasn't sure what to expect of it but what you and Ellie have posted has been really helpful

alittlebit are you ok? I do hope so, you've been quiet these last few days

Ellie sorry you've experienced crap GPs too, it seems mean we have to deal with this on top of everything else. I did smile about you putting a pillow up your top- but only because I have been wondering the same thing and DH is always telling me off with a 'that won't help'. Has AF stayed away?

lissle- are you ok? Have a super weekend of BD-ing

herby- how are you? sorry AF came so late, another cruel twist to drive you bonkers.

wheely/ weasley so glad you explained that connection, I'm a bit slow! good to hear from you again and am glad to hear for the time being you are in a better place. And as Af has arrived you can celebrate your birthday properly!

popsy Sorry to hear your great day ended in tears- what a rollercoaster for you. But well done girl for winning that prize! thats a real achievement. and well done for seeing your pg friend- I will join you on the tissues- I have finally, after 3 months, plucked up courage to see my heavily pg friend tonight. I know there will be tears but I decided that I was causing myself more stress by avoiding her so have decided to confront my fears

kensgirl are you ok?

hello to all the newbies, and anyone else I've missed and finally....

a big hello to our guardian angel mrsmc. Thank you for keeping an eye on us, I really do feel you look after us. I will be sending huge amounts of positive vibes over the border tomorrow. Thanks for your kind words, it would be a great help if I could borrow that book on chinese medicine. I do think anything is worth a try xx

EllieG · 11/07/2007 13:41

Hey torres - so glad you seem to be feeling a bit better. Hope weekend is lovely and nice GP appt goes well. Let us know how you get on ok?

Still no AF though VERY crampy. And just had another BFN (after swearing I wouldn't test again so looks like it's on it's way. Poo. At least it means I can drink on holiday I suppose!

torres · 11/07/2007 13:46

Ellie- stay away from the tests!! when is AF due? Hope it stays away but I found holiday drinking very enjoyable so a small consolation for you if it does turn up.

Will undoubtedly keep you posted, and will be asking for advice again before long! I don't know where I'd be without MN.

MrsMcJnr · 11/07/2007 14:32

Victoriagirl ? let?s hope the journey only gets better good luck with convincing the GP apparently, I am meant to be in the horny stage now having the dreams but still too tired to have much will to re-create them! I?m no where near London either

Aude ? sounds lovely, lucky you! have a lovely time thanks for your kind wishes for me One decimal point is all you need, honestly, it is too hard to record anything more don?t worry about temps from day to day, it is a wood for the trees situation you need to look at the temps over a period of time for example, generally, post AF and pre Ov my temps would fall from about 36.3 (mine stayed high during AF) to about 39.5 ? 36.1 and there it would stay (or dip slightly) until I OVd when it would then spike up to about 36.7. it would often dip just before AF to below my coverline but not always. So it is not the day to day that matters but the overall pattern HTH

Hey Popsy, I did exactly the same thing last week but I think I didn't get a precise enough thermometer (despite buying an electronic one which looks like the one my doctor uses and paying £39.99 for it in Boots) as it has only one decimal point. I have heard since that you need one with two decimal points. I have been trying to take my temperature but it's been declining (from 36.8 yesterday to 36.7 today) and yet I got a positive ovulation test this morning. I am extremely confused!! I hope it works for you though, so I thought I'd share this!

Oh Popsy ? you just don?t know the world you?ll be entering personally, I thought temping was great, gave me info that made me feel more in control, some say it adds more stress though. The software can be downloaded from ovusoft.com and there is a free trial after which you?ll be so addicted that you?ll want to buy it, it?s about £28 from memory. I?d recommend buying a copy of the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler ? it?ll tell you all you need to know and will give you lots and lots of tips and interesting facts. I?d offer mine but want to keep it so that I can try this method not to get pg again when I am BF this baby (howz that for PMA? ) as I never want to use hormone contraception again. I got my thermometer for £9.99 from Boots. It was a Braun digital and perfectly adequate. If someone invented one with a light that didn?t beep ? they would make a lot of money!

Torres ? how are you hon? Feeling any better? Have a lovely weekend and birthday and I hope Tues goes well. Just a thought ? does your GP know already what you are going to discuss? If not, might be worth dropping in a note about what you specifically want to talk about. My GP who is also lovely and really wanted to help just couldn?t about my blood issues as she needed a bit of time to look it up before discussing it with me ? I guess they are expected to know so much about everything! Thanks for the vibes and the lovely compliments ? I?d happily send you my book. If you contact me via Mumsnet and send me your address ? I?ll pop it in the post to you.

Ellie ? hang in there hon

ZamMummy · 11/07/2007 14:38

Hi Popsy don't think you need to worry about your thermometer, I read on a site yesterday (was it gettingpregnant.org.uk? not sure) that it doesn't matter about only 1dp and they're pretty much unobtainable in UK anyway. You definitely can't get them in Zambia! So I am carrying on with my 1dp one and enjoying myself with the software, it's called Ovusoft and is £20, with 15days free trial.
I'm going to join the other threads mentioned by MrsMc - come join me?!

When is the Ottolenghi meet up? I'm going to be in London from July 27th to Aug 5th, then again on Thurs 16th - would LOVE to meet you all in RL!

So glad to hear I'm not the only one with no selibido!? And Winky - congratulations on your BFP, low sex drive or no!

Aude75 · 11/07/2007 14:51

just wanted to say sorry if I seemed to give wrong advice re. thermometres, I have only just started trying to use one myself so I am no expert. MrsMcJnr, your advice sounds wise, sorry Pospy, ignore me! .

ZamMummy · 11/07/2007 14:54

selibido?? sorry, libido!!
Re thermometers: what I meant to say was - this site said that the 2dp ones are a) unnecessary and b) virtually unobtainable

MrsMcJnr · 11/07/2007 15:08

ZamMummy ? you are in Zambia! one of my best friends grew up there she lives in London now but I always remember eating noshima (spelling?! Bit like porridge) when we were hungry at school! The cycle galleries on Ovusoft are good too as are the chat rooms though they can be a bit intense, everyone seems to know exactly what their HCG levels are and have whizzy techno sign offs

Aude ? no need to apologise ? it?s a whole new world I saw a few ladies get really caught up trying to plot to two decimal places. As I said to Popsy, the book is well worth buying I think a new edition came out in November.

EllieG · 11/07/2007 15:10

I'll try torres! AF due any time now - was 24 day cycle for the last 2 months and on cd25 now so should be imminent. But I dunno. There's no predicting the way your body is after MC, even 4 months down the line.

popsy76 · 11/07/2007 15:59

Hi thanks for the advice - didn't make it to Boots - probably for the best - will only go and buy PG tests and am officially not doing them this time
Will get a thermometre though - sounds like you have had success with them.
ZAMBIA - how we wish we were there!! What are you up to over there zammummy?
