Anyone else fresh off the pill!?

Hi ladies!
As my DH and i habe decided to TTC I took the last pill in my packet on 17th December and had my breakthrough bleed start on the 22nd and end on the 26th. Now the wait begins to see whether my cycle snaps back to normal and of course whether I concieve! I had been on microgynon for circa 3 years.

Is anyone else in a similar position and entering 2019 pill free!? I thought this would be a good place to track and share our experiences as they happen!

That definitely sounds like you were ovulating. I think the whole thing about ovulating 14days before your period is due is throwing you (and me) off the right dates.

My cycle has been pretty predictable since I came off the pill, it's always between 28-30days. So I was TTC around 14days before my period (even though I didn't have other symptoms). Then I'd getting loads of random symptoms like you and think I might be pregnant, only for AF to arrive around a week or so later.

So this month I brought some ovulation strips. My app said I'd ovulate on the 14th, my calculations put it on the 16th. I've been doing the strips twice a day since the 12th and so far have had no line to say I'm ovulating. So now I'm thinking that those odd symptoms around a week before my period are actually me ovulating and I just ovulate later in my cycle.

Google seems to confirm that the 14day things is an average and that everyone is different. So I'm just going to keep peeing on my ovulation strips and crossing my fingers.

My app tells me I'm usually around CD 19-23 to ovulate (apparently) but my cycles an average of 35 days 😒

I'm on CD 12, did an opk test few days ago when I had some egg white discharge but only a bit, it was negative.

Maybe do one at the wkend but I don't think I'm ovulating yet 🤞🏻 it's a shorter cycle this month.

So fed up! Month two of coming off the pill, last time it took 44 days for my period to appear, was hoping this month it would make an appearance a bit sooner, but no, on day 44 again and absolutely no sign.
I know it’s still early days and it can take 6months to a year to get back in a rhythm, but I really thought it wouldn’t happen to me, I wish I’d come off the pill years ago Sad

@LanieM87 I was on microgynon since I was 17, I started having headaches so dr changed my pill to desogesterol but I only ended up taking 1 pack then decided not to take any more pills at the end of October to allow my body time to regulate....didn’t bleed (not even a withdrawal bleed) until 5th Dec, then had another period 5th Jan so thought my body had sorted itself out.....I am now still waiting for another period, thought I may have fell lucky and got pregnant first month trying but I’m now cd 47 and still nothing and negative tests! I find it strange to have had 2 “normal” periods then nothing?! Sorry to go on! Xx

@hoping87 I used to take microgynon before switching. My withdrawal bleed took ages to appear also. I’ve had one normal period although it was very light and that’s been it!
It’s very strange that you’ve had two normal periods! Do you think you’ve been overly stressed? I’ve heard that can be a factor in longer cycles.
It’s been around 13yrs since I had a natural period and I’m remember them to be very heavy and regular. So was hoping my body would just remember - but that’s not been the case! Have you managed to track any ovulation?? x

@LanieM87 my periods before I started the pill were always pretty standard, I was one of the lucky ones....no period pains, was never heavy, and whilst on the pill periods were always light. My 2 periods since finishing the pill have been pretty light and only lasted about 3 days, so quite short. I’ve not been stressed at all so don’t think it could be that that’s afftected me. I haven’t really tracked anything to be honest as we just decided to stop contraception and see what happens xx

@hoping2019 I think it’s really just a waiting game unfortunately and hoping that it does eventually settle back down. I’ve heard that GPs won’t look at you until it’s been at least 6months. Just seems like an awful long time when you are TTC!

Hey ladies! It’s been a while since I checked in with you! My first cycle coming off the pill was 28 days and I’m now on day 30 of my second. I so t feel like AF is coming and I have no symptoms of anything! Should I POAS? I really don’t want to get my hopes up!

Still no sign of AF, just ordered a test on amazon so it will be here tomorrow! I’ll keep you all updated, fingers crossed 😊x

It's so frustrating having really long cycles. I was exactly the same when I came off the pill 1st time round before ttc my dd. They didn't regulate either so I couldn't track when I was ovulating. But I did manage to conceive on only the 2nd cycle of trying so it is definitely possible!!

I'm just hoping my cycles are going to be a bit more regular this time round. I never found out any reason for the really long cycles. Any idea what might be causing it?

Couldn't pinpoint my ovulation this month, the oV tests were up and down with some days a faint line, others no line, then back to a faint line. I also had none of the symptoms that I had in other months, around the middle of my cycle.
Flo says period in 4days, although I'd expect it to be a few days after that. I've had so much CM in the past few days. Surely I can't be ovulating this late in the cycle (day 23).
So confused.

Took a test this morning - BFN! Very disappointing. Still no sign of AF, unsure of what to do now......

Af here at day 37 :-(
So a 28 day cycle and then a 37... god only knows what this month with bring. Dtd a lot in feb so I'm going to do the same this month but also use cheap OPKs to see if I can pinpoint O

@kinsella82 same here! My second AF arrived this morning CD40! My first month off the pill was 28/29! So strange.
