Anyone else fresh off the pill!?

Hi ladies!
As my DH and i habe decided to TTC I took the last pill in my packet on 17th December and had my breakthrough bleed start on the 22nd and end on the 26th. Now the wait begins to see whether my cycle snaps back to normal and of course whether I concieve! I had been on microgynon for circa 3 years.

Is anyone else in a similar position and entering 2019 pill free!? I thought this would be a good place to track and share our experiences as they happen!

@gem1188.. i had my withdrawal bleed as normal straight after my last pill just nothing since. I seem to have EWCM again today? Is it possible that Im ovulating again? I last had this EWCM on the 19th of jan sooo 20 days ago xx

Beddie11 · 10/02/2019 16:20

And thanks @gem1188 for your response, i hope your keeping well xx

Kinsella82 · 10/02/2019 16:34

Last month I thought I had what felt like ovulating pains on my lower right abdomen and now at the same time of the month I'm getting the same pain in my lower left. No ewcm yet but going by dates and app this would be the day I should be ovulating. So hard to know though. We've been dtd a lot so I'm hoping and crossing my fingers.

Beddie11 · 10/02/2019 20:47

@kinsella82 fingers crossed for you too! Sooo normally a 28 day cycle youd ovulate around the same date each month is that right? Sorry that sounds super thick xx

Hi can I join you ladies?

I took my last pill on 3rd of Feb. Today should have been back on it after the 7 pill free days. I've been on some form of the pill on and off for nearly 17 years! I was taking it because of acne as well as for contraception but over the past few months my skin has been terrible. Mostly around my chin as well which reading up on is usually hormonal in cause so I'm curious to see what happens when I stop taking the pill. Last time I came off about 9 years ago before trying to conceive #1 my skin was dreadful & eventually had to use a topical antibiotic treatment which was the only thing that worked.

My big worry is when I came off the pill last time it was a full year before I had a period!! We weren't actively TTC then as we were planning our wedding & then moving. When my periods came back they were ridiculously long cycles - varying from 42 to 54 days!! I have absolutely no idea how we managed to conceive our DD because I had no clue when I was ovulating. We'd prepared ourselves for a long wait but actually were incredibly fortune to conceive within just a few weeks of trying.

So now on the one hand I'm terrified it will be a year before anything even happens, especially given my age (I'm almost 36). But on the other hand we also had no problems conceiving once my periods had come back so who knows? It could happen straight away and I'm not ready for that either! 😂

Our plan is not to actively try for a few months til (hopefully) my cycle comes back & we can save up a bit of money & get all the odd jobs done around the house so we feel prepared for baby number 2. I'm all over the place - excited, scared, worrying about TTC.

I look forward to hearing all your updates & lots of luck & baby dust to you all!

Hi everyone.

I stopped taking mine 29th Dec, had my bleed 4th till 7th Jan.

No AF yet but I have been on the pill for almost 10 years so assuming it make take its time. Had a lot of symptoms the last week that could be pregnancy related or pill withdrawl related so im going to take tests weekly until AF comes or I get a positive.

This will be our first baby so we are very excited/nervous/feeling a little unsure of what is to come!

Good luck to you all!

Beddie11 · 11/02/2019 21:44

Welcome to all the newbies! Hoping for some bfps realllyyyy soon on this thread! Xx

RLI1105 · 11/02/2019 22:43

Welcome to all the newbies too! I haven't posted in a while but I have been reading! Smile

I took my last pill (Cerelle mini-pill) on the 30th of December, had a 5 day withdrawal bleed from January 15th and am now just waiting for AF!
I had cramps 2-3 days ago which I thought was the beginning of it but no!
My skin has also been terrible the last couple of days. Huge cysts on my chin. I actually had a bag of peas out before!
This may be TMI but I've also spent the last couple of days with a pretty bad case of thrush. Not ideal! I've read that it can happen towards the end of a cycle due to estrogen levels.
Has anyone else experienced this? I really don't want to to be a monthly occurrence!

Kinsella82 · 12/02/2019 09:05

@Beddie11 I hope so too for lots of BFPs!

peaky297 · 12/02/2019 10:10

Hello ladies and welcome newbies!
Heading towards the end of my TWW now as AF is due on Thursday! I've been feeling a bit off with tender breasts, pain in my right side and some mild cramping and pinching down low, so I took a first response test last night which was negative. So, I thought it was just AF symptoms. Today I have an abundance of really thick white creamy CM... is this a thing? Do any of you have this before AF? Or could I still be in the game!?
Hope all is going well for you all!

Peaky297
DTD! It sounds like what happens when you ovulate. You usually only have 24 hours

😊

peaky297 · 13/02/2019 08:45

@gem1188 I'm due AF tomorrow so I don't think it's ovulation, unless I've ovulated really late? Who knows, the post pill life is an unpredictable one!

@peaky297 how are you feeling? Any symptoms yet? X

92AP · 13/02/2019 12:45

AF made her first proper entrance for me this morning. Taking it as a positive that my body is getting back to normal now and I can track better.

Anyone got any tips on tracking BBT? Ive ordered a digital themometer to start using.

RLI1105 · 13/02/2019 14:21

@92AP That's good! It's been a month since my withdrawal bleed so
I'm still waiting. I'm just desperate for it to come now!
I've actually just ordered a temperature probe to start doing it. The only thing is though I work a lot of night so I'm not sure it will work! Confused

92AP · 13/02/2019 14:44

@RLI1105 I think it works regardless of time as long as youve had a solid 3/4 hours sleep and do it as soon as you wake up. Not sure how to track it so ive got the months free trial of Natural Cycles to see how I go on with that first

TTc2019BabyNo1 · 13/02/2019 17:34

Development 😃 - still no period and no signs of ovulation BUT my app that I’m using to track temperature has decided (after I put in this mornings temp) that I ovulated on Sunday!
Not sure how reliable temping is on its own and how the app can tell just from my temperature that I ovulated so going to take it with a pinch of salt, but it’s a small win!
Seeing as I’ve been waiting two months for something to happen, i’m happy with that :)!
Still a waiting game though... 🙄

LanieM87 · 13/02/2019 17:53

@peaky247 I’ve had something similar today! Even took an OPK which was negative, but it was a strong looking line! I’m cycle day 34! The pill is bloody awful!

bea179 · 13/02/2019 21:53

Haven't posted in a while sorry! I had my BFP yesterday, I'm so happy!
I did say further back, but I came off cerelle in late November and periods went back to normal straight away. So I am very very lucky.
Good luck to everyone, whether you're TTC or not SmileGrin

peaky297 · 14/02/2019 07:25

@bea179 huge congratulations on your BFP! Obviously wonderful news for you and a glimmer of hope for us all! @kinsella82 and @lanieM87 ... AF due today but no sign of her so far, just very sore boobs and the same cramping I've had the last couple of weeks! Plus (TMI ALERT!) I have a lot of thick creamy CM which started a couple of days ago. So much so this morning that I keep thinking AF has arrived as it feels wet down there! Anyone else had this before or heard of it happening? I'm hoping that it's not just a precursor for AFs arrival!!

Congratulations @bea179!!!

aimingfor2019 · 14/02/2019 08:15

Congratulations @bea179! You stopped the pill pretty much the same time as me so gives me a little bit of hope.

My app says I'm ovulating today but I'm 99.9% sure I'm not and won't until at least the weekend. Brought some ovulation tests yesterday, so will give one a go after work and see what it says.

Hoping87 · 14/02/2019 11:06

Hi everyone...I came off the pill at the end of October.....I had a period on 5th December and again 5th January...decided to stop all contraception at the beginning of January and was thinking I should have been due on 5th February....I’m still waiting for af to show up....over a week late...but negative tests!

Luckylola12 · 14/02/2019 14:27

Hi!! I stopped the pill september 2018, it took 3 months till i got my first period! Second period was 5 weeks later and y.day would of been 5 weeks since 2nd period. Fingers crossed!!!

peaky297 · 17/02/2019 15:59

Girls I am so confused!!
AF is now 3 days late... tested yesterday and on the day period was due (14th) and had two BFNs. I've had sore breasts, bloating and lower back pain for around a week now and my skin has broken out in spots which is unusual for me. I've had really creamy CM which has become more watery over the last few days, with the odd blob of egg white CM (though I shouldn't be ovulating now). Any bright ideas?
