Congrats @GemmaJen xxx

thosethreewords · 04/01/2019 11:49

@GemmaJen congratulations! ❤️

I think AF has arrived as I've had some spotting, so feeling totally shite. I'm only CD24 as well so this is a short cycle. 😩😩😩

sunshine1987 · 04/01/2019 12:24

@starkid I was given bloods at day 3 of my cycle and day 21 to check progesterone, LSH etc and also had my thyroids checked x

starkid · 04/01/2019 12:31

@KatBeCool - I've been trying since September, just paranoid due to short luteal phase and previous surgeries meaning it's likely there's scar tissue in the tube area, prompting me to get an appointment earlier than the suggested 1 year. I think with my medical 'quirks', they would want to test for deficiencies in a fair few vitamins as I'm more likely to be deficient in certain areas anyway.

@FlapJackered - thank you, I'll definitely ask for a print-out of the results if I do have a blood test (need to over-analyse them!

@sunshine1987 - Ah ok cool, cd21 will be 22nd Jan. Guess wait and see what they suggest, probably a general blood test first.

sunshine1987 · 04/01/2019 12:39

@starkid do you know when you ovulate at all? Day 21 bloods are to be carried out 7 days after you ovulate, going on the basis that the average ovulation is day 14. For me that meant having my bloods done day 21 meant incorrect results, I ovulated day 16 so should have had my bloods done day 23. Worth thinking about if you know when you ovulate and get it booked 7 days after that x

starkid · 04/01/2019 13:08

@sunshine1987 - ah really? Mine changes but generally ovulate around 16-19, with a 10 day luteal phase. I'll mention that to her anyway (as think luteal phase maybe bit short?) and see what they suggest. Thank you!

MrsR16 · 04/01/2019 13:39

Hoo-bloody-ray! Finally stopped spotting!! 😊 time to catch up with some much needed BD-ing! 🎉🎉

starkid · 04/01/2019 13:44

@MrsR16 - woop woop!

stormtrooperjulian · 04/01/2019 14:19

@GemmaJen twins run in my family, I’ve got to admit that does scare me a bit. I’m only small, no way would twins fit in me, I’d be wider than I am tall!
You having any symptoms yet?

@thosethreewords how many dpo are you? Could be implantation bleeding?

@MrsR16 has the spotting gone on longer than usual? I only really avoid dtd on my couple of heavy af days, the rest of the time I just warn DH that it will be messy and put a towel on the bed 😂

I’m 2dpo now and fluctuating between feeling really positive about this cycle (really pleased with the timing of dtd on this one) and thinking that there’s no point feeling positive cos I just can’t imagine ever actually getting pregnant!

GemmaJen · 04/01/2019 15:23

@stormtrooperjulian twins is a scary thought, you may be doubly lucky when you get your BFP! I've not had symptoms really, just some pressure in my abdomen coming on stronger today, I had the same feeling with the start of the MC pregnancy, feels like AF is due any moment. Also been feeling gassy and nauseous, but how much of that is the Christmas/new year food I don't know, I've eaten way too much!

@MrsR16 happy baby dancing for you Grin

KatBeCool · 04/01/2019 15:51

@stormtrooperjulian you'll get pregnant. It's hard to imagine something that involves feeling pregnant when you've never experienced it. Stay positive.

KatBeCool · 04/01/2019 15:53

@stormtrooperjulian forgot to mention, twins fit in anyone, big or small. Those are your babies, not elephant babies, they'll fit :)

MrsLBear · 04/01/2019 15:56

@stormtrooperjulian I always said that - I couldn't imagine being pregnant and I couldn't imagine getting those two pink lines or a clear blue saying pregnant. But it's the strangest thing when it does happen, and it WILL, it feels completely normal and natural. Literally the night of the day I got my BFP it felt like I had always had it. If that makes any sense at all. Don't get me wrong I can't imagine having an actual baby now (so it changes! Haha) but it's just because you haven't got anything to relate to it YET.

starkid · 04/01/2019 16:16

@stormtrooperjulian - twins run in my family too and am very petite, my DH is petrified of the thought of them haha, I'd be over the moon!

Scotslass55 · 04/01/2019 17:05

@GemmaJen congratulations! Lovely news to start the new year!

@stormtrooperjulian I think we are cycle buddies and I also am feeling more positive about timings of BD this cycle. Do you test or just wait to see if AF arrives?

I’ve been quiet as I don’t have much to add as I’m not doing any of the things you ladies are, and the chat moves so fast, but I enjoy reading your chat and I learn a lot! Lots of the ladies who were here when I started lurking in September have graduated to the pregnancy thread so that’s exciting too!

For those over 35, am I write that it’s recommended that we see the GP after 6 months of unsuccessful trying. Scary that’s only 2 more cycles for me.

Amanda81 · 04/01/2019 17:50

So nice to see all the BFP's! Congratulations to all of you!

I've been lurking on this thread for a while, reading all of your messages and learning so much.

I hope you don't mind, but I have a question...

I have recently started BBT'ing. When I googled the range of temps of the average temps pre and post ovulation, mine don't quite stack up. I'm not sure if this is anything to worry about, but wondered if I could check it with you guys. I am using FF to track everything. I am currently 5DPO with my lowest temp at ovulation being 35.79 and then increased to 36.17 on 1DPO and up to 36.40 today at 5DPO. Are these temps okay?

I'm probably over-thinking as I had a MMC at 10+1 in November.

Hoping you can help and share your wisdom x

MrsR16 · 04/01/2019 18:30

@stormtrooperjulian much longer than normal!! Normally I'm all clear by CD6, but I'm on CD13 today... you're not alone - I feel as though pregnancy is never going to happen for me either! Cycle 6 and not even a whiff of a BFP.

@GemmaJen thanks Hun! I hope DH is up for it!

@Amanda81 sorry Hun, I can't help with temp charts! Lots of these lovely ladies on here do though, so will be far more useful than me!

TrashKitten10 · 04/01/2019 19:36

@GemmaJen Congratulations! What a lovely strong line x

cupcakesandglitter · 04/01/2019 19:51

@stormtrooperjulian @MrsR16 I'm with you both - after my CP last month I'm back to square one thinking that it's never going to happen. It's so difficult to be positive sometimes x

MrsR16 · 04/01/2019 19:53

@cupcakesandglitter it really is... but we will absolutely get there! I have a feeling that this year's going to be great for all of us xx

GemmaJen · 04/01/2019 20:10

@Amanda81 I'm no expert with temps, but your af temps and post o temps seem nice and clear. Are there any reasons why your mid cycle temps could be a little less consistent? Drinking over Xmas, illness, different temps in the room overnight, different temp timings? Your post o trend looks good, FX for you.

Amanda81 · 04/01/2019 20:16

Hi @GemmaJen I haven't been sleeping to well over the Christmas break and have been drinking more than usual. I also wondered if my hormones are settling in to the first cycle after my MMC. I'm hoping my next cycle will have less mountains.

GemmaJen · 04/01/2019 20:32

@Amanda81 I would have thought it was most likely to be sleeping pattern, it's best if temp is taken at a consistent time of day after at least 3 hours of constant sleep to get a reliable reading, not easy to achieve every night! MC can definitely mess things up though, sorry you had to go through this. FX things settle soon.

Mrs71 · 04/01/2019 20:57

Hi ladies, do you mind if I join?

I’m on cycle 4 ttc and am 13dpo I think and had a bfn last night! I’m still hoping for a BFP late but kind of know it’s probably not going to happen. I feel really down and feel like it’s never going to happen for me. Sorry to have a moan! x
