Hey @TinselBee, @Rose68, @BettySwoll0cks

Here is the thread I promised us.

Somewhere for us to help eachother, pick one another up, cry, scream, laugh..

Some of us may be looking to try again, some may be putting things on hold. Whatever our plans, lets get through this together.

(I don't know whether conception was the right choice of topic, I can always have this moved to a more suitable topic if anyone would like me to)

I will look through our threads again and see if I can @mention anyone else who might like to join us

ouch Rather that really does suck!

edidxb havent read either of them. If I dont have any luck in next 2 cycles I think I will purchase one though. It is sickening isnt it, how much we spend on all of this TTC and then trying to stay pregnant! I try to limit myself to 1 packet of FRERs a cycle as they are approx £12! Think I will have to myself another packet though to arrive for the weekend so I can take another test. I want to wait till Saturday.

ratherbeshowjumping · 02/01/2019 13:07

@frazzlerock of course everyone else's pregnancy is happy, healthy & boring... 😂🤦🏽‍♀️

I felt my reaction to him wasn't probably what he was expecting so ended up going a bit OTT. It was a bit awkward 🙈 he definitely thinks I'm a complete weirdo 😂

I'm always intrigued by these supplements. What's alpha-lipoic acid? Haven't heard of that one before.

Sorry it's looking negative @edidxb but glad you've got some EWCM, that's definitely a positive 👏🏼

smerlin · 02/01/2019 13:33

Oh rather what a nightmare. I am seeing a friend this evening who has 'lots of news' to share. I suspect it will be pg news and am bracing myself accordingly. Seem to be having difficulty with seeing baby things in shops and supermarkets at the moment. So wish I was allowed to buy some!!!

edidxb · 02/01/2019 14:13

@rathebe - alpha lipoic is, apparently, an anti-oxidant. When people take it, the total anti-oxidant level in the blood stream increases significantly. They did a study of some mice that found it can improve egg quality in older women. Also it can improve fertility for women with PCOS. Apparently there is not loads of research out there, but what is is very positive.

The book has so much information in it, it is a little over whelming and no-one can do everything it suggests. But different supplements are different people. For example, melatonin is fantastic for those doing IVF but if you are not, it can actually do more harm than good.

I am more of a history/English/Geog/Arts kind of person so I find hard core science a bit hard going, but interesting.

Kinsters · 02/01/2019 15:05

Frazzle ovusense looks amazing and it's so clever it can predict ovulation. I would get one but it's so expensive and I can't justify the cost because my cycles are normally very regular. Maybe if I'm not pregnant by the time my FF premium subscription runs out in August.

ratherbe that's shitty timing. Sounds like you handled it OK though.

edidxb no frers or cheap strips in the shops in Malaysia either. I can order super cheap ones online though which seem really sensitive. I dread to think how much I've spent on tests and vitamins!

TwittleBee I'm keeping everything crossed for you for the weekend. Surely you couldn't have had two faulty tests, the line was clearly pink.

smerlin I guess at least you're prepared for it. It just leaves you on edge though. I'm getting to the age where friends are going to start to get pregnant (I'm 28), there are two who I'm pretty sure will be trying already. I live very far from home though and am not back for long each year so baby bombing opportunities are limited.

I had some really good ewcm earlier but a negative opk. Waiting to see what my temp does tomorrow but looking back at previous cycles I can get ewcm for days and days before ovulation so it may not be until Sunday (if it even happens).

Frazzlerock · 02/01/2019 15:48

@Kinsters it is expensive, especially given you have regular cycles.

I bought the £79 one and got a discount code (20% IIRC) and I pay the £20 a month package. It is so worth it for me given my bonkers cycles doing whatever they hell they want. Customer service is also really good if you need any help. There's a good FB group for help and advice too.

I've been wedding planning today. It's such a minefield. I got a shock earlier. I've been following a photographer on instagram since my sister's best friend used him for her wedding and I loved her pics.

Anyway, I looked at his website today and saw the price...
FROM £2500
Back to the drawing board for that I think. I need to find a local cheap photographer that will do the same thing, his pics are very alternative.

I told DP and he said he expected that price, and that they will all be the same. I told him I'd budgeted £2000 for our wedding and he laughed at me Blush I am clearly underestimating this whole wedding business. However, my friend said she had a beautiful wedding several years ago and managed the whole thing under £1k Shock

ratherbeshowjumping · 02/01/2019 17:04

@Frazzlerock re photographer, I had the exact same problem. Found an incredible (local) guy who shot the most beautiful, artsy photos.
Met up with him, he wanted £2500 for 4 hours and was a complete knob
As it turns out, a very good friend of mine is an equestrian photographer. She'd never shot a wedding before but agreed to give it ago. She drove over 4 hrs to us and shot our entire wedding including the small party we had the night before. We paid her £500 for 2 days and a USB with over 1000 hi-res images on. We had a few printed from her too at a negligible extra.
FWIW, the pics she took are absolutely stunning and much better than anything I've seen by the original guy. Happy to send you over her details, I'm sure she'd be only too happy to help as I know she's done a few weddings since Smile

smerlin · 02/01/2019 17:52

We used a friend who did photography for about £400. Maybe someone who is building up their portfolio still?

Rachyrach83 · 02/01/2019 18:56

Hi frazzle
Our photographer was amazing it was £999 for a full day with the rights to all our photos to print as we like - around 800 images!
Our wedding was around £5k all in 💕

BettySwoll0cks · 02/01/2019 20:49

@Frazzle we also used art student friends who did the job for £500 (I think? 7yrs ago 🙈) and gave us over 1000 images on cd. They did a grand job and I hardly noticed them all day/evening. The whole wedding cost me over £16k though - but I refused to let anyone pay for anything (except accommodation) so I spent a lot on booze and a fair whack on taxis.

The July '19ers - knocked down, but never beaten
Kinsters · 03/01/2019 01:32

Our photographer was insanely expensive, we love the pictures though and think he was definitely worth it. Weddings are nuts, it's so much money to spend just for one day. I swear everything "wedding" has a zero added to the price. I never added up exactly how much we spent and I don't want to!

Still no temp rise for me. I'm way too impatient, definitely need to chill out a bit. DH is getting tired of doing it everyday, especially with the jet lag.

Frazzlerock · 03/01/2019 05:54

Thanks all for the advice and recommendations. @BettySwoll0cks what a beautiful photo!
I need to rein it in a bit I think.
We only ever wanted a tiny ceremony and then big party so I need to consider what is important and what we can afford.

My last wedding was silly money and it was such a waste, despite a lovely day. But my dad paid for that one.
This time it's down to us to pay (and rightly so). It's so different this time around. I just want the day to be about the two of us and never mind anyone else. Though that sounds terribly selfish! I always said I'd want to elope with DP.
But I'm already getting bogged down with friends to invite and who sees us marry and who comes to just the party.
I've always been a bit of a floater and never had just one or two best friends. I have groups of awesome friends that I kind of float between, you know? So I can't just invite one or two from each group.

Maybe I should literally just have us two and our parents....

Aaannnnywaaay... another temp rise this morning so I think I've deffo ov'd but FF still won't confirm. Here are my two charts:

How do I get FF to confirm??

And now I'm worried that I drank so much vodka on NYE that, if I am preg, I have already done damage. So now if I get a BFP and we have another MC I will blame all the drinking 😓

OP posts:
TwittleBee · 03/01/2019 06:25

Ah just realised Frazzle you've got positive pregnancy tests marked down on FF. Remove those maybe? It won't be looking for ovulation if it thinks your pregnant?

TwittleBee · 03/01/2019 06:26

Also, I've been told.plenty times on here that your blood supply won't be affecting the baby this early on. I wouldn't worry about 1 night of drinking xx

Frazzlerock · 03/01/2019 07:08

Ah....ha!

Thanks @TwittleBee 😁

I just tried to upload my new chart but won't let me, even though I've only uploaded 2 pics this morning 🙄

But I finally have the lines! And they're solid red line too. Whoop! Now for the TWW...

How many DPO is it putting you! So bloomin excited!

Rachyrach83 · 03/01/2019 07:16

Frazzle ... the month I got BFP I had been working my way through last years gin advent calendar I had found in the garage!!

Tinsel .... why not try another brand of test to see what it says?? Or Surely a digital one would spell it out??

I’m CD11 and the end of FF predicted fertile window based on 26 day cycle as it was last month.... still just HIGH on monitor in morning and stark negative on internet cheapies that I’m
Doing at night :(
Really starting to panic now. Either I’m not ovulating (convinces didn’t last month!!) or I’m going to have short luteral phase!! 😢

Frazzlerock · 03/01/2019 07:18

Hang on!
I've not even asked you how you are!?
Done another test yet??

FF has put me exactly where you said I'd be. So I'm now 3DPO (though it doesn't tell me that, I've had to count the days myself?)

Ovusense still putting me at only 1DPO but maybe that'll change

OP posts:
Frazzlerock · 03/01/2019 07:23

@Rachyrach83 just keep going...
TTC is a fucker and it messes with your mind so much.
That is why we have this group.
I don't know the difference between monitors and internet cheapies but just keep going 💜

TwittleBee · 03/01/2019 07:25

Rachy OPKs aren't always able to pick up ovulation, I've known plenty of people over here who temp and see ovulation that way but get nothing on OPKs. Also your luteal phase might be shorter than the average 14 days maybe? If so you'll still have a few more days till you ovulate. Keeping my FX and keep DTD!

Frazzle ah that's odd, usually has on there how many DPO? I've attached today's chart.

I didn't test today. No more pregnancy tests in the house. I have ordered some from Amazon to arrive Saturday so shall be testing Sunday! Surely will be a decent line by then if I am pregnant? Mind you, last pregnancy I didn't get a decent, and even then it was still quite faint, till 12dpo!

The July '19ers - knocked down, but never beaten
Kinsters · 03/01/2019 08:00

So nice to see everyone's temps going up! Frazzle your timing looks perfect and Twittle your temp is rising so nicely and smoothly.

Rachy CD11 is still quite early to ovulate, could there still be residual pregnancy hormones messing with the results of the monitor? I got a positive opk on CD14 and got excited that I was going to ovulate but I'm pretty sure it was residual HCG as I did a digital test at the same time that said 1-2 weeks (annoying after getting a negative on another brand). I have short cycles (24 days normally) and it's my luteal phase which is short, I ovulate on day 14 normally.

Frazzlerock · 03/01/2019 08:02

I've just googled and you have to count the DPO yourself with the free version. So that would be why mine is different. Not sure of the difference between dotted lines and straight line though. Maybe another difference between paid and free version?
