@Critter glad my comment made you smile ☺️ I wasn’t sure if you would feel movement slightly earlier with twins. Everyone is different, I was earlier, I think 16-17 weeks with my first and really early (14+) with my second, but I know people who haven’t felt anything until 24 weeks. Had I reached 9 weeks with my pregnancy I was going to invest in a Doppler, you can buy or hire them... it might be worth considering x

Presh, definitely test! Tomorrow morning x

olivia12 · 08/01/2019 14:45

Hello everybody, this is my first month ttc. I am 43 and I have a 10 year old girl with my exh.

My dp and I would love to add a sibling for my daughter and his son with his ex.
I have been taking folic acid, Co-enxyme Q10, Selenium, Zinc, Vit C and E, probiotics and Vitamin B12 since September and I am starting Vit D spray as I have read that here somewhere!
I came off the pill in October and since then I have had regular periods.

We have dtd twice on Saturdays which was 11 days after my period started and I have my fingers crossed. I have no idea if my ovulation has happened or not. I have had some cramps and breast tenderness on the Sunday and yesterday. Is that ovulation? Hopefully!!!

On Sunday we have been trampolining with our littles ones and I had a bath after and now I am paranoid that the jumping and warm bath might have compromised my chances.
I won't drive myself crazy though, I have promised to myself that whatever happens, happens, we are very happy as we are, but having a baby would absolutely be the cherry on the cake.

good luck and lots of love to everyone xxxx

ZoeRoma · 08/01/2019 14:56

@olivia12 Don't worry that you've harmed your chances through a bath and trampolining! The month I conceived, I went on a business trip the day after we DTD, so I flew, was super busy in meetings, and also drank like an absolute fish. I went on to have a textbook pregnancy and a perfectly healthy little boy. I also continued running until I was 32 weeks pregnant, did no harm whatsoever x

Rose68 · 08/01/2019 15:07

Hi @olivia12, I am 43 too, so it’s good to have another 43 year old on here. How an earth did we get to 43, this is what I keep wondering.
When will you be 44? Supplement wise a lot of us are taking ubiquinol and dhea now. Dhea is a bit scary though x

olivia12 · 08/01/2019 15:21

@zoeRoma thank you! We can worry about the silliest things!! I guess worrying does worse than anything else....lovely to hear about your perfectly healthy boy!

@Rose68 I can't believe I am 43 most days! I'll be 44 in September. What about you? I'll look up the ubiquinol and dhea (I will read up about the scary bits..Thank you!)

We are going to dtd this Thursday/Friday/Saturday as well as after reading more about it, I think my ovulation hasn't even happened yet. I looked it up and my period length was 35 days last month.....It's sooo complicated!!! Fingers crossed for everyone xxx

CritterTamer · 08/01/2019 15:25

@Rose68 funnily enough I was looking at dopplers at the weekend (after hearing about my friend's horrible loss) and in the end decided against it in case I was not very good at using it and ended up panicking myself more for no reason! Decided to book the private gender scan instead which was a similar cost and leave it to the professionals! As far as feeling movement goes ive read that often you feel less with twins as they don't have much room to really get moving about a lot so I have no idea what to expect really!

Welcome @Olivia12

Floofsquidge · 08/01/2019 15:39

Critter we were going to get one to ease my anxiety but have been scared to death out of it by the KicksCount campaign - def worth a read: www.kickscount.org.uk/why-we-want-home-doppler-sales-to-be-regulated
X

ZoeRoma · 08/01/2019 15:43

Thanks @olivia12. He's a joy :)

Rose68 · 08/01/2019 15:45

I used one when pregnant with DS2 & it wasn’t hard to find the hb, it was very reassuring. Once I could feel him move I didn’t need to use it & I know it should never give reassurance if you are feeling reduced fetal movement. x

olivia12 · 08/01/2019 16:02

Thank you @CritterTamer Smile

@ZoeRoma lovely to hear! Looking at your name, are you from Rome by any chance? I am originally from Rome, but in London since I was 21!

CritterTamer · 08/01/2019 16:08

Thanks @Floofsquidge - interesting read which really confirmed what I was thinking, and added even more downsides. Glad I booked the scan instead - gives me something to look forward to and I think I would get obsessive if I was using a doppler at home too!

ZoeRoma · 08/01/2019 16:09

@olivia12 No, I'm British European ;) but my husband is Italian, and my son's a dual national. We live in Rome.

olivia12 · 08/01/2019 16:14

Oh wow! @zoeRoma you live in Rome!! I was there a week ago to see my family for Christmas! I hope you love living there..i do miss my city but my heart is also in London now.

ZoeRoma · 08/01/2019 16:19

@olivia12 I love the history, theatre, music, and pine trees. I hate the tax rates, rubbish, and graffiti lol

Glad you're happy in London!

olivia12 · 08/01/2019 16:50

Oh I love the pine trees!!!! And yes I know about the rubbish Angry....

Rose68 · 08/01/2019 18:10

@olivia12 I will be 44 in June 😳

Realitysucks · 08/01/2019 19:09

@CritterTamer sending you loads of virtual positivity 🤣🤣🤣 I know it’s worrying and your right it doesn’t stop once you get the two lines. But things have been good so far so no reason to think differently. I saw my sister at Christmas who is currently 37 weeks following her second ivf. She did say that with This pregnancy she really struggled to relax as it was an ivf baby and didn’t really settle into it till she was about 32 weeks. I think partly it’s the build up and the months sometimes years of ttc then when you finally get there you have already been through a rollercoaster and can’t quite comprehend it’s happened! Feeling ill is also crappy, everyone has had it, i was sick all over Xmas and only just starting to feel better now.

Scan will be exciting though and as rose said once you can feel bubs you will feel better. X sending lots of love and good luck with the scan x x x

Cleozeta · 08/01/2019 20:32

Wecome olivia.

Critter I think you made the right choice to choose the scan over the doppler from what I have read.

So I have a new 2ww anxiety. Gutted as the 2ww used to be my most relaxed time of the month, after spending 2-3 weeks stressing over ovulation. Now my lovely relaxing 2ww has been transferred to one almighty stress-fest. The worry is that AF will come. Like, since 3dpo it's felt like it's on it's way. I don't know if thats because the last 2 cycles its come early at 8 & 9 dpo and thats stressing me out, or if it really is coming seriously early. But I'm getting seriously stressed. Is it even possible for AF to come as early as 4 or 5 dpo? (I definitely ovulated)

BooseysMom · 08/01/2019 21:22

@Olivia12 and @ZoeRoma... Welcome and best wishes for your fertility journeys xx

Critter.. Hope you're feeling better today.

Lets..how did today go for you?

littlemimosa · 08/01/2019 22:01

Snowie - I’ve just ovulated CD5 too. So annoyed with it as my cycles were getting much better since starting TCM but I’ve missed two (nearly 3) weeks because of the Xmas holidays. Very frustrating ovulating straight after AF as it’s leaves NO time to dtd. Aaaaaaaah. Count me out this month. Trying not to cry about it.

Critter - understandable that you’re feeling anxious after two pieces of bad news. But the odds are stacked firmly in your favour right now and those babies of yours have been a force from the start. Look after yourself and get well soon. It’s winter too and those bubbas will be using all your vitamin D and seratonin. You’ll feel better come spring:) x

littlemimosa · 08/01/2019 22:09

Cleo - I don’t think it’s possible no. I think you’re confusing your progesterone with AF maybe? Also stressing about things can make them happen (says she who stresses too about every little thing). Did you ever look into bio-identical progesterone cream? It might be worth getting your progesterone level done again and if still low to get yourself some. I think Biovea sell it?

littlemimosa · 08/01/2019 22:11

Welcome Olivia and Zoe. In the nicest possible way, I hope your stay here is short and sweet!

Rose68 · 08/01/2019 23:07

Cleo, try not to stress, I’m sure it will all be fine. I often get crappy feelings a few days after ovulation x

Cleozeta · 08/01/2019 23:09

Mimosa - yes I'm using progesterone cream this cycle (I did last cycle too but it made no difference) I'm also taking B6, vit C and hoping the vitex will help. Going all out to lengthen LP but can just worryingly feel it coming! I know stressing makes it worse. Can't wait for my next accupuncture session on Thursday, hopefully that'll help relax me

Cleozeta · 08/01/2019 23:10

Rose - what kind of crappy? I usually feel great after ov, but this time feeling crampy and loads of cm making me think af is here every 5 minutes.
