@littlemimosa yup af arrived with vengeance.. so I'm going to also pig out on the leftover Christmas cheese.. but not tonight..

Cleozeta · 06/01/2019 20:34

Gizmojo - I suspect if you go to gp about nightsweats they will very quickly brush it off as perimenopause symptoms (they are very quick to do that for us over 40's) on the plus side though an FSH test would potentially confirm or deny that diagnosis so they may well sugest it if they are interested in finding out. You may need to suggest it if they are very dismissive though. As for the antibiotics, it's possible it's had an effect. I guess the only way to know fir sure is to see what happens next cycle...

Boosey - dtd anyway just to be on ghe safe side!

Mimosa - I have had so many oddities over the last few years, really anything is possible!! Ewcm fitted with the opk pattern. 2 or 3 days before +opk then dried up by the time it went positive, as normal. But then ovary cramping coincided with temp rise 3 days later. Weird!

Cleozeta · 06/01/2019 20:37

Floof - how interesting! Maybe it'll be lucky for me too then Wink
I think sometimes our bodies just do their own things. They don't like rules or norms!

Chat - oh no! Sorry to hear af landed. Next cycle.....

PetraRabbit · 06/01/2019 21:20

Mellongoose....that is heart breaking. I'm so, so sorry. Life can be so unfair.

littlemimosa · 06/01/2019 22:20

Agree on that one Cleo.

Chat - massive hug from me❤️Af day is the hardest by far. We keep on going don’t we. All hope is definitely not lost.

Mellon - hope you’re as well as can be expected.

Orchid - you’ve gone so quiet. Hope you’re doing well? Come back, we miss you.

littlemimosa · 06/01/2019 22:25

Gizmojo- I’ve had some hot flashes on and off this last year. I only get them between AF and ovulation and those months i tend to get a delayed ovulation. I feel for you. It’s miserable. I’m pretty sure that mine are related to low oestrogen levels which should rise in that follicular phase but some months my body struggles. I’ve been having acupuncture which has worked wonders so far as well as the Chinese herbs (aka the yummy teas on here) as well as eating a bit more as I’m quite skinny which is typical of women low in oesteogen. It sounds like your sweats are more in the luteal phase I think?

Gizmojo · 06/01/2019 22:48

Yes they seem to be just in luteal phase (or certainly much worse in luteal phase) for me. I have read you talking about the yummy teas :)

Letsdothis43 · 07/01/2019 03:34

Hi All

@mellongoose, hope you're ok Flowers

@booseymom @cleozeta, @littlemimosa @orchid222 @chatbash72 @shineyblackdog and all new members hope everyone is doing as well as can be, as difficult, repetitive and unpredictable as these cycles can be I am just so glad we can chat on here, it does make it easier, for me especially, I've learned so much from you all about vitamins, acupuncture, egg quality that no GP has ever spoken with me about.

AFM cycle day 1 was yesterday and this morning I will take my first injection for IVF (CD2) ... Just wondering would you count CD1 as full flow of blood or is spotting lightly still considered CD1?

DH was going to administer injection before he left for work and I am just not sure if the clinic will get back to me on time ...

Michellebops · 07/01/2019 07:05

Hi all

I'd like to join your group.
I've posted on mn a few times with some replies.

I'm 41 with a 3 year old.

Started ttc in April 2017 with no success. In June 2018 I had a laparoscopy to remove a 7cm cyst on my ovary.
In August 2018 I discovered I was pregnant, no issues apart from recurring uti however in October at 12 weeks scan there was no heartbeat and I'd had a Mmc.

I went through the surgery a few days later and bled for about 3/4 days afterwards.

However it took almost 9 weeks for my period to return (I was terrified I was going to start the menopause). My body was retaining hcg levels until this time. I bought ovulation tests to check my body was doing what it should be and I was delighted to see I was due to ovulate over Christmas Day/Boxing Day. We dtd a few times over the week and I started getting sore nipples at the weekend and feeling nauseous.

My period is due Thursday or Friday (26 day cycle normal) so I did 2 different tests last night.

A dip test showed a faint positive however a CB was totally negative.

Orchid222 · 07/01/2019 08:02

Let's- at my clinic spotting would still be considered cd1. Did your place not specify any time for the injections? I was supposed to have mine after 5pm.
Mimosa- thanks. I've been on an emotional rollercoaster in the past week so needed to distance myself a bit from mn and the whole ttc thing although believe me it's consuming my every thought which is not healthy...I'll try to post later today or this evening depending on how I feel.
Michelle welcome, sorry about your mmc. Fingers crossed it is a bfp still early days, in my book too early to be testing tbh.

Lets - good luck with your IVF. Exciting to have things moving forward!
Not sure about clinic rules on spotting, but in general we usually say 1st day of full flow is cd1. Hopefully your clinic will get back to you to confirm.

Welcome michelle - sorry to hear of your mmc, I had ome last year too, they really do suck. So frustrating when we are on limited time too. Fingers crossed this cycle you will get another chance.

Orchid I have been thinking about you. How are you getting on now?

mellongoose · 07/01/2019 10:36

Thank you all again for your messages of support. They really did help to read.

Yesterday was horrendous but it is over now. DH is in pieces and yet I cannot seem to cry at all. I chose to see baby for a short while. Utterly beautiful and a miniature of her beautiful big sister. It all feels surreal to me. DH didn't want to know the sex but says he will in time. It's just too difficult for him to cope with.

Please don't let my experience put you off trying. They keep telling me how random this was and that it was definitely not age related. We have decided (for now) that we will not ttc again. I'm 42 and DH turns 49 today. We will hold our DD close and she will be an only. Probably super spoiled and overly loved by me now, if that's possible. My littlest one will live in my soul for ever and I will always wonder what might have been.

Good luck ladies. I wish you all happy healthy pregnancies with lots of love. I will check in from time to time xx

onemorego2019 · 07/01/2019 11:28

@mellongoose love to you I'm in tears here for you xxxx

karryk · 07/01/2019 11:33

littlemimosa · 07/01/2019 11:41

Mellongoose- Your Message moved me to tears. What an amazing strong person you are. I’m glad to hear you are ok physically if not emotionally. We are all here for you anytime you feel like talking. Much love.

littlemimosa · 07/01/2019 11:42

Orchid - good to see you. When you’re ready we’re here for you.

Cleozeta · 07/01/2019 12:05

Mellon - I too am crying for you. This is so incredibly sad and heartbreaking. Give yourself time to grieve. Big hugs to you x

CritterTamer · 07/01/2019 12:14

@Mellongoose - another one of us in tears here after reading your post. You are so strong to come here and take time to reassure us when you must be so completely devastated by what has happened. I hope you and your DH are getting lots of support from the hospital - take care of each other. Xxx

Rose68 · 07/01/2019 12:57

Mellon I would be amazed if any of us weren’t in tears reading your post. I’m not surprised you have decided not to try again, stay strong and look after each other. Sending you loads of love and a massive hug. xxx

hmmm123 · 07/01/2019 13:27

Mellon .. thanks so much for your update you are being so brave and also for saying that we shouldn't be put off trying and that it wasn't age related .. that was very nice of you to give us this comfort when you are obviously suffering so much .. sending lots of love and strength to you and your lovely family xxx

Orchid222 · 07/01/2019 18:39

Mellon- once again I'm on a train crying. My heart goes out to you and your DH. I know this sweet little angel will always watch over your family. Lots of love xx

OP posts:
BooseysMom · 07/01/2019 19:34

@Mellongoose...my deepest sympathies and I echoe others here in that it must take a huge deal of bravery to go thru this and come back here to reassure us it wasn't age related. Your msg has moved me to tears as we too have just one DC and is looking likely he will be an only too. There's a thread for one child families I sometimes post on and i find a lot of support there.
Good luck Mellon Flowers xx

BooseysMom · 07/01/2019 19:43

Cleo.. we managed it! (Dtd I mean) much to DH's surprise as he was expecting the usual 'no chance i'm feeling rubbish' response!! Grin

Chat..sorry to hear AF got you Sad

@Letsdothis43... thank you. Good luck with your IVF.

@Michellebops..welcome and sorry to hear of your mc. Keeping fngers crossed for you!

PetraRabbit · 07/01/2019 21:50

Mellon- my heart is breaking for you this evening. I hope there is peace in your future. Your daughter is a lucky little girl to have such a devoted loving mum. Take care of yourself.

Realitysucks · 07/01/2019 21:51

@mellongoose sending massive virtual hugs. Am in tears as for you.

Just checking in on all, hope everyone is ok. Hi to all new members.

@Letsdothis43 you are ahead of me fingers crossed for you. My Clinic have said cd1 for them is classed as bleed day not spotting but dependant on colour.

I’ve had horrible and painful AF this month. Still full flow and no signs of letting up. Was so wiped out Friday came home from work. Just counting days to infusion and scratch now so I can get started.

Just out of interest where is everyone based are we all over the country or different countries ? I’m in Hertfordshire so wondered if anyone had used the Herts and Essex clinic before ?
