Sorry weaseldee...you were hotter on the celeb gossip than me!!!

Rose68 · 01/01/2019 17:03

@KateyA I’m so sorry you went through that, but also great news that your OH is back on board. Do either of you have any children already? £4K does seem expensive, I’m just comparing that to the cost of ivf, obvs I have no clue about egg freezing.
I have to say I’m impressed that you did that, it must have taken a lot of guts at what would have been a pretty hard time for you. And remember... one egg is all you need... and it’s great you have it. Hopefully you can conceive naturally now and know you still have that egg for a future sibling when you are further into your 40’s, that’s amazing. xxx

Karigan195 · 01/01/2019 17:07

In the 6th week now. Everything seems good so far. (Crossing fingers) Plenty of symptoms. Need to go bra shopping already! And the cramping at night (only a bit usually in the early hours) suggests someone’s making room in there whilst I’m trying to sleep.

I’m just worried as it know it’s more of a risk at our age.

KateyA · 01/01/2019 17:12

No kids... this is the first time I’ve ever tried to get pregnant. Took a while to meet the right guy!

Realitysucks · 01/01/2019 19:50

@KateyA I’m am sorry that must have been hard for you but you’ve definitely done the right thing. I just wish I had thought about it a bit more when I was in my 30s took me awhile to meet the right guy as well. Even though I have one child from a previous relationship it was so easy to fall pregnant unexpectedly at 24. I just didn’t realise how hard it would be later on in life. Have you had your AMH checked ? We were going to try for a year before going down ivf but I decided to get my hormone levels checked first and they came back low so we are going straight for ivf later this month now. We have been trying since September am hoping a little help may do the trick. Fingers crossed! Still no sign of AF for me and another negative test today. Typical as all my dates are based on this cycle so all wil need to be pushed back now as AF is late.

Debbiedooit · 01/01/2019 20:00

Hi everyone,it's difficult to talk to anyone about this because most people have a negative view ,I'm 48 and am trying to conceive,I do have six healthy children but I am unable. Very happy relationship with my soul mate who is happy to have more children (he has one ) imbon month 3 of trying, have sore breasts so will be testing this month but in my head I keep thinking it won't happen, some people think it's selfish,I really want this xx

Debbiedooit · 01/01/2019 20:11

Hi I'm sorry if I looked rude diving in on this thread,I am new to this and struggling to work it out xx

Karigan195 · 01/01/2019 20:12

Hi Debbie. Not rude at all. This is a very friendly and safe thread.

Cleozeta · 01/01/2019 20:19

Welcome debbie. While you are still having regular cycles there is always a chance.

Loving the news about gordon ramseys wife!

Rose - vitex is supposed to be really good for naturally balancing hormones, and after the last 2 cycles being a bit odd with lp going down to only 9 days I thought I'd give it a go. It's supposed to help with progesterone so may extend LP. Anything is worth a try!

KateyA · 01/01/2019 20:37

@Realitysucks
I’m not very good on all the names but If you mean the test to see what your egg reserve is like then apparently I’m on the low side of normal. The doctor said I was best to try naturally first and that was her advice before I had the freeze (but obviously it wasn’t an option at the time) that was only 6 months ago so I’m presuming it’s still the best option. We’ve just started this month and fingers crossed it happens soon.

KateyA · 01/01/2019 20:40

@ Realitysucks I hope you get your positive very soon and that your IVF team are nice too. Mine were lovely aside from one grumpy horrid nurse.

@Debbie welcome- I’m a total newbie to this board too xx

Rose68 · 01/01/2019 21:29

@KateyA I think you are right to try naturally first, you still have some time and it could well happen within 6 months. xxx

Welcome @Debbiedooit, you are in the right place. xxx

Debbiedooit · 01/01/2019 21:33

Hi karigan,I've had some awful comments,I was actually about to delete it but couldn't work out how to xx

Debbiedooit · 01/01/2019 21:35

Hi ,I've had some awful comments, feel a bit crap now but hey ho ,I would have deleted if I had known how to xx

KateyA · 01/01/2019 21:44

@Debbiedooit no judgement here just support. Everyone is travelling their own unique journey.

I think women and fertility at/ over 40 still seems an issue for some I have no idea why. My experience is a bit different but I definitely felt the pressure leading up to being 40 and being single and childless. I remember the scorn from even close friends when I expressed how sad I felt and their need for me just to accept my spinster childless fate. Happily now I’m 40 in a wonderful relationship and trying for a baby and so my emotions are now more ‘acceptable’ to share without others feeling as uncomfortable. But people are odd and their scorn is usually to do with them not you xxx

BooseysMom · 01/01/2019 21:59

@Realitysucks.. ooh sorry didn't mean to make you feel old! At 46 I'm bound to be older than you! Didn't have DS til 41 and just shocked how quickly my fitness has disappeared. Oh and I can't run or swim to save my life ..when I run my pelvic floor seems to fall out with every step ever since I had a 3rd degree tear and episiotomy 5 yrs ago. I do my pelvic floor but obv not enough! Hope the run went well today..and wishing you every success with ivf x

@KateyA...That's alot to go through..sorry to hear that. Hopefully you feel stronger now x

@Debbiedooit...welcome! I echoe Katey. I have experienced no judgement here. This thread is pretty unique x

Realitysucks · 01/01/2019 22:23

@BooseysMom it’s ok lol just realised I turn 41 in 19 days 😬😬😬😱 Double run was good but felt exhausted. Thanks for the good wishes just want to get on with it now. Still no sign of AF though so who knows what’s going on this month !

onemorego2019 · 01/01/2019 22:29

littlemimosa · 01/01/2019 22:33

Happy new year to all my lovely fertility friends. I too hope 2019 is a year we get even more BFPs than last year!

Debbie - welcome. You won’t find any judgement here, just support. I think it’s awesome you’re ttc. How are your cycles?

Katey - amazing to hear of your egg freezing. That must have been a difficult time of your life. I’m happy to hear you’re now with ‘Mr Right’ and ttc.

Reality - how odd that AF is awol. Are you actually late?

Just off to relish the story about Ramsey’s wife.....:)

Realitysucks · 01/01/2019 22:49

@littliminosa based on past 4 cycles I’ve been prettty regular with 26, 25,25 and 25 day cycles. This month I’m on day 29 so far.

littlemimosa · 01/01/2019 22:52

That’s very strange then to be so late but getting negatives Reality.
What is your gut telling you?

Debbiedooit · 01/01/2019 23:07

Hi ,I'm not sure if yr name sorry,my cycles are text book 28 days,I'm still ovulating exactly in the middle ,boobs are swollen and sore and due my period on 8th January xx

Chatbash72 · 02/01/2019 03:55

Welcome @Debbiedooit I'm 46 and having been trying for number 6 for 2.5 years now, had a mc 3 yrs ago this jan at 9 weeks.. I have 4 gorgeous friends who know I am trying for another but a very unsupportive family on both mine and my hubbies side. I have given up drinking I. The last 12 months and at a family party ( thankfully only once every 12 months) I got " are you pregnant " then today brother in law kept asking me if I was.. grrrrrrr idiot. Hubby had birthday today and was another idiot but is still very much into trying for another.. we are enjoying contraceptive free sex as af still reg as clockwork.. this is an awesome non judgmental group with sooooo much support and baby dust... so whilst you are still ov there is still a chance, look at rachel Weiss !! And fab news about tana Ramsey after her miscarriage 2 years ago..

Realitysucks · 02/01/2019 08:13

@littleminosa my gut is telling me Not to get my hopes up. I just don’t understand it to be honest. A small peice of me wants to belive it’s a really late implantation but in reality I don’t want to get my hopes up. Every time I think AF will start it doesn’t. Either that or it’s an early menopause, now that really would put a spanner in the works 🤦‍♀️ Im on day 13 possible 12 since I ovulated. Am going to go to GP today and ask for a blood test. Poor DH is starting to look worried, even caught him reading up on stuff last night. He is getting anxious about it 😞

karryk · 02/01/2019 08:21

Happy new year ✨ sorry slightly late as I had a bad cold and a rather grumpy start to 2019 Grin wishing everyone lots and lots of baby dust. Great news about Gordon Ramsay's wife, Tana. Hopefully this pregnancy is a happy and healthy one for her 🙏🏼

Heading back to work today and actually quite looking forward to it. Smile

@Karigan195 I know it's easy for me to say, but try to stay positive unless life gives you a reason to feel otherwise ❤️ if it's a strong bean, it'll grow and make itself right at home! sending lots of sticky bean vibes your way 😊

Have a good day all xxx
