Thanks guys. I keep forgetting to temp but I’ll take your advice. Xx

Rose68 · 31/12/2018 20:24

@KateyA are you using cb digital tests? I am and I have found them to be accurate. I have always had a smiley face and then ovulation pains on the same day. I do try to dtd the evening before the smiley face too.

Happy new year everyone! xxx

Happy new year. Here’s to a lot of BFPs in 2019. Dodging the bubbly at the moment in the countdown :)

Cleozeta · 01/01/2019 12:31

I definitely do drink till its pink haha
So I have started 2019 with a peak on my cbfm, cd12, early but great that the peak has shown this cycle. Looks like the vitex has certainly made some kind of difference so far. I have a good feeling for this year. Lets hope it brings luck to us all!

KateyA · 01/01/2019 14:36

What’s CBFM? It’s not on my cheat sheet of acronyms Smile

Karigan195 · 01/01/2019 14:43

Clear blue fertility monitor :)

weasledee · 01/01/2019 15:02

Happy new year :) x

KateyA · 01/01/2019 15:24

Ohhh just looked it up.

Do you guys recommend it or should I start without the technology and see how we go?

Karigan195 · 01/01/2019 15:51

I never used anything other than opks once a month. Find out how your cycle is and see how easy it is to judge then go from there. You can spend a fortune if you aren’t careful. I spent a year doing opks taking vitamins etc etc and then get pregnant not even trying on a ‘got carried away’ moment.
🤷‍♀️

KateyA · 01/01/2019 16:05

Thank you.
My cycle was pretty regular it seemed but after egg retrieval for freezing in the late summer it’s been less predictable.

I’ll keep charting for now.

And yep after spending nearly £4000 on unsuccessful (1viable egg now in storage) egg freezing in the summer I need to watch my pennies

Rose68 · 01/01/2019 16:09

@Cleo what are the benefits of taking vitex? Should I be taking it?

@KateyA I think fertility monitors are a good idea, but for me personally, I would rather invest my money in supplements and acupuncture. I wasn’t planning on doing this for a long time so decided against fertility monitors and charting. I know my cycle well and I know the indicators of ovulation, I have borrowed one in the past and it always confirmed what I already knew. We started trying in the summer, I conceived on month 3, but unfortunately it ended in a mmc before Christmas.

I’m still not certain how we will proceed, DH is away a bit in Jan, which I’m pretty sure will coincide with my next ovulation. But he does seem to be back on board which is good. Time is just so not on our side.

I did read something that suggested for over 40’s naturally might be better than ivf, something about the body being able to select the best egg at ovulation. It said that it wasn’t unusual for over 40’s to conceive naturally after going through failed ivf.

minime2017 · 01/01/2019 16:09

Karigan thats how we conceived in Feb/March. I gave up everything and entered a period of high stress at work. Came off SW, drank wine, ate sugary foods and low and behold a bfp! Sadly I mc but certainly made me re-evaluate my ttc approach.
Has anyone made any ttc NY resolutions? Im on the brink of booking a week's holiday in the hope I will have to cancel it 😁...and because I can't live my life on a 'just in case' basis anymore!

Karigan195 · 01/01/2019 16:26

I’m sorry that happened. Wishing every positive vibe I have on this little bean and so worried about miscarrying :(

Rose68 · 01/01/2019 16:41

@KateyA why did you do egg freezing? xxx

KateyA · 01/01/2019 16:49

Because unfortunately when I was heading to my 40th birthday this year my other half suddenly announced he wasn’t sure he wanted to be a dad.

I was heart broken and felt I needed to take control of the situation and that freezing might extend my options to buy some time incase I had to go it alone.

Very happily he realised he was just anxious about the idea and we worked through it and now he’s onboard.

However since it was all happening at the same time I went ahead with the freeze treatment... sadly I didn’t respond well to the meds and only managed to save and freeze one egg. I felt quite sad about that as it was a lot of expense and emotion to get no further on fertility wise.

Rose68 · 01/01/2019 16:50

@Karigan, how many weeks are you? I had a bad feeling about my pregnancy from before 5 weeks, but I think you said yours feels strong so that’s probably your reassurance at this stage? Otherwise all you can do is sit tight and try to get a scan at 6+ weeks. I would recommend having a scan. xxx
