Hi I stopped coming on mumsnet. We also stopped trying for a baby. Half the reason I stopped coming on here.

Popped back for good news.

Just had this.

Over 40 ttc - winter baby dust for me!
Cleozeta · 28/12/2018 12:53

Yay!! Congrats karigan! Fantastic news x

Orchid222 · 28/12/2018 13:54

Congrats Karigan! Fingers crossed for smooth 36 weeks!
Cleo- I know this but my clinic doesn't offer multiple cycles. I was going off their success rates but I unfortunately they don't have any packages for multiple cycles.

Hi Karigan- fantastic news! Tell us more, what did you do differently? Supplements? Why did you stop trying and did you just have unprotected sex without actually ‘trying’?!

Orchid - you’re not out yet. But if it is genuinely a bfn, like Critter says the first cycle often fails and they tweak everything to get it more right for you thereafter. Big hug from me.

Mellon - such great news. That gives me so much hope. Good luck for the 20 week scan. Come back and update us please.

karryk · 28/12/2018 21:51

Congrats @mellongooose and @Karigan195 Grin wishing you both very happy and healthy pregnancies Flowers

Big hugs @Orchid222 ❤️

Just had another bb this evening 😐 dh's cousin and his wife are expecting their third in July....which is when my latest bean would've been born. Can't lie, this one did sting a bit 😳 but anyhow, maybe I'll be having a winter baby this time - think positive, positive, positive 😬 aaaaand back to the Ferrero Rocher box I go 🤪

Xx

Karigan195 · 29/12/2018 08:33

The irony is that we were half avoiding as I had surgery a few months back 🙄.

The only supplements I was taking were magnesium and vit b as without them my cycles go hey wire and I get random bleeding.

we’ve been being a little careful around the ‘unsafe’ time of the month as I’m not medically signed off yet. About 3 weeks ago however we got a little carried away. I can only presume that the relaxing and ignoring it did it.

The only other possible is that it was a hell of an orgasm that night as he was determined to make me come twice (sorry embarrassing). I did read somewhere that the woman coming helps conception but I don’t know. In all honesty it’s a bit of a surprise after a year of trying and getting nowhere

This one feels pretty good and strong so far. Getting cramping that suggests little bean is making him or herself at home in there and outgrown my bras already!

mellongoose · 29/12/2018 08:54

Congratulations @Karigan195 !

On my successful cycle I'd been taking a lot of vit b. I'd been feeling run down and vit b along with more fresh air and exercise is the only thing that lifts my mood (I've tried lots of things!).

Also, we missed dtd on what I thought was my ov date so I believe I'd been ov earlier in my cycle than I thought.

Thanks for the good thoughts. I will update after scan next Thursday. You all deserve lovely BFPs and I hope they come soon.

Karigan195 · 29/12/2018 09:26

Congrats to you too!

Cleozeta · 29/12/2018 09:54

When you both say vit b, do you mean b complex or b6?

Karigan195 · 29/12/2018 10:17

B6

whyhaveidonethis · 29/12/2018 11:40

Hey ladies. BFN for me this morning at 10dpo.just ordered some more FRERs to test again tomorrow just in case. God this is so horrible. I have been crying all morning

karryk · 29/12/2018 12:51

@whyhaveidonethis biggest biggest hugs ❤️

PetraRabbit · 29/12/2018 12:55

Thanks for the solidarity! I'm feeling a bit stronger now the Christmas build up is over and enjoying the annual leave!
Karigan that is such good news and very hopeful. Remind me of your age and if you have any DC already? I think stressing over TTC is a particular kind of stress that's terrible for TTC, I have a couple of other things coming up to stress over so maybe that'll do it! Mellon don't feel bad to share good news. No pregnancy in this group could do anything other than cheer me up! Real life can definitely feel different!

PetraRabbit · 29/12/2018 12:57

Whyhaveidonethis.....hugs!

BooseysMom · 29/12/2018 14:50

@Karigan195 & @mellongoose ... wonderful news ..huge congratulations Flowers
I've come back to my beloved ladies with tail between legs after having my head bitten off on another thread where the OP posted a preg test that got stronger over the subsequent days. She was really unsure about going ahead and I said it was exciting and she might feel differently further down the line. I wished her all the best. My god how I wish I hadn't posted!! I was just thinking back to when I found out I was expecting DS and I was so scared and didn't want to go ahead..some people on mumsnet attacked me for wanting to end a new life and I was made to feel like an evil bitch. When I went to the scan I completely changed and suddenly I wanted the little bean more than anything. It just feels like you sometimes you can't say the right thing on here Confused feeling totally pissed off with everything atm.. sorry Sad

BooseysMom · 29/12/2018 14:53

@whyhaveidonethis ... sorry about your bfn. Here's a big hug and can we share a shoulder to cry on ? Sad

littlemimosa · 29/12/2018 16:43

Oh Booseys - just stay on here with us and ignore the rest of those crazies. People think it's ok to lay into people on MN as they can hide behind their screens. Cowards. We know you're kind and lovely so stuff 'em.

whyhaveidonethis - sending a huge hug to you, it truly sucks.

Karigan195 · 29/12/2018 17:21

Oh Boosey! Just ignore them. They think it’s ok to hide behind a screen and say nasty things.

I’m 42 in a few months and have 1 kid already

BooseysMom · 29/12/2018 17:39

Thank you Little & Karigan, that's v.kind. 😊The thread has now got loads of trolling on it and some msgs have been reported and removed!! I'm staying here from now on!!

mellongoose · 29/12/2018 18:58

Oh @BooseysMom. I despair of some people on mumsnet. I notice that people just want to question the op and challenge every detail rather than offer support. The spirit of the place has changed but some threads (like this one) still feel like safer places to be open and honest about feelings without the crazies interfering!!!

@Cleozeta mine was from Holland & Barrett and it was called Busy B. I'm in the bath so can't check the ingredients. Will do later. It's what they sold me when I was run down and knackered all the time....didn't mention anything to do with ttc as that wasn't really why I was after them. However, considering others have mentioned vit B helping ttc I'm not discounting its contribution to the cause!! I'll get those ingredients later.

CritterTamer · 29/12/2018 19:39

@Karigan195 - congratulations, such fantastic news 😊

@Orchid222 - don't give up just yet! If you do end up with a BFN I know it's hard, but don't rush into the next cycle - my clinic insisted on waiting until the third natural cycle after the failed IVF to start again, as the response to stimulation is poorer if you immediately start again. I was glad we did wait as response second time around was much better.

@Booseysmom and @Whyhaveidonethis - big hugs to you both xxx

AFM - I did something silly today and bought my pram! Intention had just been to look and see what was available in the January sales and then we came across the exact one I had been wanting with 20% off in a closing down sale! I know 15 weeks is too early but it was too good a bargain to pass up - I'm terribly worried I've jinxed something now though, but also incredibly broody after pushing it back to the car through the city centre - people kept trying to look inside to see babies and looked so disappointed that it was empty lol!

onemorego2019 · 29/12/2018 19:49

Just like to say this is a lovely thread. Do they only go to 999 posts? What when you reach the max how do I find you all again?? I'm going to need some hand holding 🙄😂

BooseysMom · 29/12/2018 20:05

@mellongoose..Thank you Smile and @CritterTamer..Thank you for the hug Smile xx that made me lol about everyone trying to look in the pram! I find myself doing it alot more than I should. But i think it's fine to shop for a pram now..well done for finding the exact one you wanted in the sale! Who would walk away from that?!!

@onemorego2019...don't worry there's always a link to the new thread posted here so everyone can find it. You won't lose us!

onemorego2019 · 29/12/2018 20:16

Phew 😅 😂

Karigan195 · 29/12/2018 20:43

This is a lovely thread. Why I came back to share my good news. I remember every time someone posted their good news it gives a bit of hope. But we’ve all had plenty of hand holdings.
