Hi Guys
Can I joint this board? I’m 40 and just started trying for the first time.

I’m feeling very excited but a bit alone on this all. My partner is very supportive but my mum and friends seem non plused about us starting to try and reluctant to talk about it. Perhaps cos they already have their own kids or grandchildren and don’t realise or have forgotten how huge and exciting but also terrifying this step feels esp after years of thinking I’d never have a chance of being a mum.

welcome @KateyA it's exciting trying for a baby, you'll get plenty of lush positive comments and support here and sadly no our nearest and dearest are not supportive..

@Presh12345 I use coenzyme 10, from Holland and Barrett but have only been for about 3 months so would only about know be seeing or not seeing a diff to egg quality., but it's supposed to be fab for general all over cell quality... so will enjoy that too at my ripe old age 🤣

I don’t know. first hint we had that it had happened was partner looked at me and went ‘your boobs look massive’ and they were/are sore! Don’t treat anything as a sign or not a sign imho except af coming

@KateyA..Welcome to our super-board! You're in the right place. Here's a piece of positive news to start you off...40 is nothing! I was 40 when we conceived DS, 3 months off 41 when we had him and he's certainly the best thing to have ever happened to me. There's every chance for you esp with a supportive partner..good luck xx

Today I feel tearful and AF finished a couple days ago. Just keep crying at everything!

I had dd a month after my 40th and a school friend has just given birth to her second a month after turning 42 so it can most definitely happen for you!

@Booseymum - I got trolled on another board last year when I sought advice about my partner was having a bit of a wobble about if he wanted to be a dad (he did he was just anxious about it all) People are very quick to say awful things and read things the wrong way. It’s definitely about how they are feeling about themselves not what you’ve said.

Boosey sorry you were trolled. That happened to me before so I tend to stick here now with you lovely lot!

So, as for me, the last few cycles, I have fallen into a pattern of ovulation around cd16-18, this cycle - my first on vitex, I got ewcm yesterday on cd10 (I say ewcm it was more ebcm as post af spotting had only just finished) so looks like I may possibly ov earlier on vitex. I just hope it makes as much difference to my LP!

Mimosa how are you getting on with the dhea?

Just did an opk and it came out high. 10dpo! That's the earliest I've ever had a high, i hope it's not too early.
Also I hope it doesn't screw up the timing of my hycosy booked for 31st Jan

So I’m still waiting for AF which is late and I’m losing the will to live now! Just shouted at DH this morning as he keeps asking me if it’s come 😭. Any of you girls know how accurate the opk clearblue tests are. So ovelation smiley days were 20th and 21st December. Last month I had a 25 day cycle. Have done a couple of pregnancy test ( ok loads 😬) but all are the ones that come with the machine all big fat blue Not pregnants ☹️ Predictor said AF should have started on 28th. It looks like I’m about 9/10 dpo, back hurts and boobs are sore was convinced AF was going to start yesterday but nothing so far. Have some first response tests arriving today but not till tonight. Will probably just be a late AF though. As test yesterday was negative and surely it would have shown by now?

@realitysucks I'd say you are testing fsr too early. 10dpo is early too but possible to get a BFP if you had early implantation

Checking in and welcome to new ladies. So here's my 2019 gameplan.. I've got a few more months until my 42nd birthday so I'm going to give it until then and then see how I feel. No deadlines as that was making things worse but at least helped dh see how important it was to me.

I have been trying mindfulness the last few days.. there's an app called headspace which I like and this has helped me as I was getting a bit stressed about everything and putting pressure on myself

I'm going to try and enjoy myself and see what happens and hope that the universe will give me another shot. I'm not going to bother too much with ov sticks as I can't work them out and just try and ahem "connect"with dh every other day. On cd7 today so will start tonight as worked out when I had my dc1 we fell on cd9 so I think I ovulated much earlier than normal. Although I was much younger too!

Am taking conception tablets, vit d spray at the mo. Let's hope jan is a good month!

Had a panic.. that I’m so non fertile even the stick won’t react!

Re- read the instructions (ok I hadn’t before I confess!)

Realised I need to assemble the digital part of the test before peeing on it and defo before it’ll work!!

I just did a cheap opk. Not much on it, only a faint line, but as I got high on cbfm earlier, I better dtd tonight just in case. Really interested to see what the vitex does to my cycle now

@KateyA don’t panic we’ve all done it! Just to let you know I’m on second month of using it. Don’t feel diplssapojnted if it doesn’t pick up LH surge I can the first month. Mine didn’t, I just got over ten days of high. Second month thought the same was going to happen as I was on day 8 of high then got two days smileys and one high then back to low. On tww now and 10 dpo am chomping at the bit for FRRR to arrive tonight from amazon. However now feeling like AF is on its way 😭

Cleo- yes I started the dhea a few data ago. I only got the 10mg ones so I’ve been taking 30mg per day so far. When/if AF arrives I’ll increase the dosage and then if I’m ok I’ll order the 25mg ones. Interesting what Vitex has done. I’ll be following your progress with interest. You must be rattling like me!

Does anyone ever listen to any fertility podcasts? I’ve been enjoying ‘Ther Fertility Hour’ as it’s aimed at the over 40s. Highly recommend it.

Random comment- it’s a new moon in 6 days. Who else is due af in the next 5-6 days?! I remember Chat saying you sync up with the moon just wondering if quite a few of us do....

Not necessarily. Some don’t register until 2 weeks after you miss AF! All depends on your hcg. So relax and wait and see x

@karigan195 my AMH is low at 4, we start ivf in jan so this is one last shot before. I know I have a short LP but ovulation was late this month on day 18 so maybe AF late too 😞
