Snowie how did your scan go? Mine not fantastic. The follies are growing but not there yet apart from one which we'll have to sacrifice to give others time to catch up. I have one more scan on Wed and EC Fri or sat 😤

@Rose68 indeed....if there's anything I've learned from my experience with pregnancy so far it's that nothing means anything until it means something! I've had spotting that ended up in mmc whereas the big bleed was a successful pregnancy. It's all so random. I just hate this period of limbo in-between. I may take your advice and try to see the gp in the morning - if they can get me a referral to the epu before the private place at least I can start to deal with whatever the situation is...? Biggest hugs - feeling a bit lonely at the moment so thank you for taking the time to send some comfort 😊❤️ xx

karryk · 10/12/2018 15:23

@Orchid222 thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️ fingers and toes crossed. Yes, it wasn't the best time to be pregnant in that sense..it's hard to focus on myself without feeling guilty.... Whatever happens though, I'm determined to make 2019 the start of looking after myself again. I'm having a reiki session on Thursday which I'm quite looking forward to 😊 xxx

CritterTamer · 10/12/2018 15:28

Hi ladies
Hope you're all doing OK today! I've been offline for a few days as my ipad packed up but DB has now bought me a new one so catching up with everything now - such a busy thread with so much going on! I just wanted to say good luck to all those going IVF cycles at the moment - I know how hard it is! My fingers are crossed for all of you 🤞

I'm almost 12 weeks now and having a scan on Wednesday - unfortunately having to pay for a private one at my IVF clinic as my midwives/hospital have been an utter shambles and booked my 12 week scan in for 16 weeks. After a week of arguing with them they're now moving it forward to Xmas eve which is the absolute earliest they can fit me in, but that will still be 14 weeks and they've told me I won't be offered any antenatal screening (such as it is for twin pregnancies in this area) as it's too late! I really miss my private clinic!

weasledee · 10/12/2018 20:42

Hi critter! Wow that's awful! Have you complained? That's really terrible service that you can't have the screenings done?! Have you got a recent scan pic? I'd love to see it 🙂

Kintan · 10/12/2018 20:51

@littlemimosa I know what you mean about the pregnancy announcements. I just found out another one of my NCT group is pregnant with their 2nd. So that's everyone in that group pregnant apart from me now :( I just wish I knew if it was going to happen for me or not. If I knew it wouldn't then I could move on and come to terms with only being parents to our lovely little son!
@CritterTamer congratulations on reaching 12 weeks :)
Hope everyone else is doing as well as they can be, and I'm sending out good vibes for those currently undergoing IVF! x

CritterTamer · 10/12/2018 20:53

Hi @Weasledee. Haven't complained as I wouldn't know who to complain to! Complained to the ultrasound department and was basically told tough luck. GP surgery says the midwives are nothing to do with them.

Scan is on Wednesday so if you want to see it I'll put the picture up here when I get back 😊

weasledee · 10/12/2018 21:32

Oh definitely Critter!

Cleozeta · 10/12/2018 21:50

Taxgirl - your rhr is nice and raised so I reckon it's likely you are either just about ovulate or you are having a slow rise this cycle. Hopefully tomorrow will look clearer

Cleozeta · 10/12/2018 22:02

Karry - sorry to hear you are spotting. As others have said, it could go either way, but hopefully in youd case all fine. Fingers crossed for you.

Critter - would love to see your scan!

karryk · 11/12/2018 06:52

Woke up to what looks similar to the start of period bleeding...I think this one is definitely over 😔 going to see the gp anyway... Can anyone tell me roughly how long it takes? I had fairly swift erpcs for my first two but I don't want anymore poking around up there if I can help it (scar tissue risks) so I'm going to sit it out....

Where's that drawing board, I'm going back to it CakeBrewWine

Xx

Evug1234 · 11/12/2018 07:05

So sorry @karryk...... but I am sure you will get there soon..... take care of yourselfFlowers

Orchid222 · 11/12/2018 07:28

Oh Karryk I'm so sorry...not sure how long it takes, I had a 9 week empty sac in June and it took just over a week. I think it's usually 1-2 weeks but someone here will know better. Take care of yourself, rest and take time to grieve, big hug Flowers

Cleozeta · 11/12/2018 08:14

So sorry to hear that karry Sad
How far along are you? That will determine how long its likely to take.

Cleozeta · 11/12/2018 08:17

Well I'm really bloomin confused today (what's new) Have just had 2 days of seriously strong positive opk's on Sunday and Monday, but no peak on cbfm and no temp rise yet...

Kintan · 11/12/2018 08:40

@karryk so sorry you are going through this. Sending you lots of strength. I had a natural m/c at 9 weeks and I bleed for about 7 days days and got a negative pregnancy test 10 days after the bleeding started. Look after yourself x

Taxgirl1 · 11/12/2018 08:56

@karryk I'm so sorry to hear your sad news. With 3 of my mcs i bled for about 5 days and hormones etc went back to normal straight away (they were back to back so very normal). They were between 6 and 7.5 weeks. With the last mmc (twins at 10 weeks) I bled but have had two bleeds since (which clearly werent periods). I have just had a period I think so it's taken my body about 3.5 months to get back to normal or at least I think I'm back to normal.

Taxgirl1 · 11/12/2018 08:58

@cleozeta thank you. I had a small (0.35) temperature rise. I'm supposed to start taking meds from ovulation but I'd rather try to establish whether I have actually ovulated first... Can't help with your confusion. Only that the pos are very unreliable but it's the best thing we have. Could you have missed your surge do you think?

Taxgirl1 · 11/12/2018 09:05

@cleozeta I also read that it takes the majority of women more than 2 days after ovulation to see a temperature rise. So if a positive opk means that you will ovulate 12-36 hours later then you have to wait 2 days to see temp rise you still have time to see a shift in temperature...

Cleozeta · 11/12/2018 09:31

Thanks taxgirl. I don't think I missed the surge as 2 days in a row have been very strong positive (my opk app read 153% and 169%) but yet the cbfm in the middle of those read high, but the sticks look peak. Anyway, I do often have a slow rise these days so not going worry yet. I was hoping not to have to dtd tonight as we have DH's SA on Friday so needed to save up the swimmers!!

karryk · 11/12/2018 10:09

@Evug1234 @Kintan @Taxgirl1 @Cleozeta thank you ladies Flowers I was around 6.5 weeks along...

There's not too much discomfort but I've taken a paracetamol just to buffer. I think because I'm still in the early stages of grieving mum I'm just not in the zone to feel much...bit numb really. Which in turn makes me feel guilty 🙈 argh!

Anyway...many days of self-pampering ahead and I'm going to stuff my face over Christmas just because I can ❤️

Cleozeta · 11/12/2018 11:57

Karry hope it all goes as smoothly as it can. I found the main event with pain etc was done over about 12-24 hours, then bleeding like a period for a week or so.
Take time for yourself and rest

CritterTamer · 11/12/2018 13:43

@Karryk - so sorry to read this sad news..

Rose68 · 11/12/2018 18:54

I’m so sorry @karryk. I had a natural mc at about 6 weeks, so a similar time to you. I had no pregnancy symptoms at all, and as far as I remember it was just like having a period, maybe slightly heavier. I did have a scan after to confirm that everything had gone. It’s still very upsetting though, sending you loads of love and hugs xxx

As for me I’m considering chucking in the towel... it’s all just far too stressful, I’m not achieving anything else in my life and I’m being a totally rubbish Mummy to the DC I do have. However..... wouldn’t it be so wonderful if it did happen... maybe I’m not ready to walk away just yet....

Rose68 · 11/12/2018 19:17

On another matter I am taking 3 things with 400mg of folic acid in them. So 1200mg of folic acid a day... does anyone know if it’s okay to take that much? Thank you x
