Hi all, 9dpo here and I'm symptom spotting like a crazy person, alternating with convincing myself that it's all just my imagination! Yesterday I had slight backache and felt really really hungry! (Despite eating as usual).
Today I felt really hungry in the morning but now slightly queasy, it sort of comes and goes...
I think this might be a positive symptom because In my last pregnancy I had severe morning sickness for first 5 months, I was nearly hospitalised because I was losing weight.. that put me off for ttc another one at the time, but obviously 7 years is long enough to forget about such inconveniences...anyway, I could not help myself and tested today, with Superdrug's own brand stick ...and the sodding stick was faulty, I got no line at all (not even control line I mean!) grr! Has anyone had any bfp's this early anyway or am I just wasting my time and money?

Rose68 · 16/10/2018 13:24

@hmmm123 sending you a hug. x

Rose68 · 16/10/2018 14:21

@Ameliel it sounds like we are at a similar stage, I think you are a day ahead of me. I am the same with symptom spotting, which seems madness when the chances are so low, especially for me at 43, how did I get to 43? Sad
9dpo is too early to test xxx

Rose68 · 16/10/2018 14:31

@Iusedtobecarmen - this is what I am taking
Pregnacare conception
Maca root (capsules)
Ubiquinol
PQQ
Paba
Oil of Evening Primrose
Cassanovum
Vitamin D
Vitamin C
Ferroglobin (iron tablets with couple of b vitamins)
Royal jelly
Bee propolis
Dhea

A few of these I have only started this month, the others I have been taking for 2-3 months.

hmm123 · 16/10/2018 16:56

Thanks rose

Woohoo AF has arrived.. have never been so pleased to see her. Better late than never. I'm back in the game..

DabofRouge · 16/10/2018 17:44

@Chatbash72 Yes, I may have to do that. I need to find a brand on Amazon that looks legit.

Ameliel · 17/10/2018 15:02

Thanks @Rose68 ... all my symptoms have disappeared today, zip...
10dpo today but didn't bother testing... how is everyone else getting along?

Cleozeta · 17/10/2018 16:07

I was 6dpo but ff just moved my crosshairs to 4dpo!

PetraRabbit · 17/10/2018 16:11

Hi! I'm about 2 dpo. This cycle felt like my best one for ages. I finally used OPKs and got a strong positive at the 'ideal' mid month point, and decent lines (just less than the control line) on the days either side. I wasn't expecting this certainty as before DC1 I never got a positive on them. But it was a different brand. We also caught the right days. I'm trying not to feel too positive or get hopes up too much. I've been feeling stressed about my chances at 43.

Rose68 · 17/10/2018 16:35

Sounds good Petra!
I am 9 dpo, no symptoms. My boobs don’t hurt no matter how hard I bang them. I think I had more symptoms last month. Smile

Chatbash72 · 17/10/2018 16:52

Not reached predicted ov time yet.. but made the most of hubbys "
"working from home" day... 😉

StarShapedWindow · 17/10/2018 17:10

Hello everyone, im feeling inspired by your positivity because people that I know in RL all think having another baby in your 40s is a big mistake - what do they know! Im 39 and sorely tempted to ttc #3. I have a DC who’s 10 and one who’s 6, is anyone else going to have a big age gap?

Ameliel · 17/10/2018 17:47

Hi @StarShapedWindow , join us!!! I will have a large gap between my now youngest and the new baby if /when S/he will come along, minimum 8 years! That worries me at times but hopefully it won't be too bad...
@Rose68 , my boobs were really sore yesterday (among all types of other symptoms), but nothing today! I'm wondering if the DHEA I've started taking is playing havoc with my hormones!

ckc45d10 · 17/10/2018 18:19

A few things to take note of: DHEA is a hormone, and can affect other hormones. It is important to work with your doctor, and review all supplements with him or her.

Also, ubiquinol is better absorbed in a form that is water and fat-soluble.

Good luck!!

Cleozeta · 17/10/2018 18:47

Petra - all sounds positive. And you have every chance at 43! While you are still ovulating there is always a chance. And 43 is still a common age to hear of it happening Smile

Rose - that made me lol about banging the boobs. I have done that so many times!! Haha

Chat - it's never too soon to get cracking!

Star - go for it! Mine would be a big age gap. 6 years minimum. Means yon can focus on the baby while the older ones are at school, and when they are all home the older ones can help! (In theory!)

Ameliel - have you had any other symptoms from the dhea? It is based on hormones but hopefully in the helpful way! Supposed to be very good for us oldies.

Ckc - I can't see an NHS gp being interested in our suppliments, however lovely and helpful that would be!

StarShapedWindow · 17/10/2018 19:06

Thanks everyone, I’m sure everything would pan out. I believe Christopher Biggins has a brother ten years younger than himself and they’re very close. Also there’s a six year gap between me and my brother and he’s like my best friend, we speak on the phone at least once a week.

You all seem so clued up on which vitamins to take, I can’t even remember to take my hair and nail vitamin!

Chatbash72 · 17/10/2018 19:53

@StarShapedWindow 14 years between me and my brother and 4 between my sis and I.. closer with my bro.. I have a 10 yr gap between my 3rd and 4th... he now old enough to baby sit... bonus
Yes @Cleozeta My thoughts and agree not sure my gp would give a monkeys what supplements I was on sadly

StarShapedWindow · 17/10/2018 20:38

Chatbash - I hadn’t thought of the benefit of babysitting!

Angelbabyollie · 17/10/2018 21:22

Hi everyone well I have been off here for a while - was trying to de stress about while situation but now can I ask for advice as really confused! My second postpartum period was due 17 September and this day I started spotting ( had a +hpt but string negatives after so presume I was 1% chance of false positive!) anyway spotting continued not enough for a pad except for an hour one day until cd 14 2 October which then became heavier started having clots etc but was light still some in bowl when wee , so I thought as fed up of bleeding would take soy ISO for 4 days so did after I was heavier , bleeding stopped 8 October. I don't know when to say cycle day started was it from spotting it when I was heavier? Also I am now if you count heavier bleed as cd 1 cd 15 I am so hungry all the time feel sick and certain smells make me feel more sick! I am really confused and don't know when af will be expected! Please does anyone have advice ? Sorry to ask and hope makes some sense! Xx

Chatbash72 · 17/10/2018 21:49

@Angelbabyollie have to taken another test? Perhaps a visit to the gp for a blood test xx

Rose68 · 18/10/2018 12:19

@StarShapedWindow welcome, I have 2 boys, 9 and 6, so very similar to your 2.

@Angelbabyollie, maybe it will take a bit more time for things to settle down. x

@ckc45d10, I did attempt to speak to my doctor about dhea, she didn’t know what I was talking about and quite obviously didn’t care what supplements I was taking. My acupuncturist has been much more helpful.

I have registered myself with a feritility clinic Shock

Russkispy · 18/10/2018 13:23

Last night before bed was feeling sick. As in I wanted to throw up. Slept badly, was feeling sick and when got up had a diarrhea! All morning! And still feeling sick! Coming and going. But not vomiting. And smelling food makes me sick! It wasn't anything out of ordinary for dinner last night. Pasta and green vegetables. I'm 7 days past IUI/ovulation. Don't even know what to think of it? What do you make of it?!

Russkispy · 18/10/2018 13:24

And smelling food makes me feel sick!

Cleozeta · 18/10/2018 14:16

Angel maybe speak to your gp if you think things have gone wacky. Hopefully they can do some tests and give you some answers

Rose - brave move with the fertility clinic! I want to do the same but too scared.

Russkispy - sounds promising. Fingers crossed for you!

I have been reading facebook and people from my school year are talking about going through menopause - argh!!
