New thread ladies! @PastaSauceHoarder @Goostacean @Barker26 @crazychemist @DoveGreylove @springsummerautumnwinter can't remember who else to tag.

I know @cupcakesandglitter has linked us to a new thread but I'm not sure I am strong enough to be surrounded by those TTC already!

Oh also @PastaSauceHoarder 45 days to go, that's so exciting! I love that you have a countdown app lol.

McHelenz · 11/10/2018 18:02

Hey everyone, back from holiday and now officially on a countdown!

Jelliestogether · 13/10/2018 09:16

Good to hear positive stories of the copper coil as you often just hear negatives about bleeding and bad periods etc! I Think I'd like to use the copper coil after having a baby so no hormones etc!

Tropicana1 · 14/10/2018 18:53

Welcome back @McHelenz
Hope the holiday was relaxing :) Remind me when you are starting TTC again? How long is the countdown!

McHelenz · 14/10/2018 20:06

Thanks @Tropicana1 It was lovely. Seems like so long ago now though! Especially in the rain!!!

Still struggling with my emotions but I'm getting stuck into CBT and hoping that I get some sort of sex drive back. I braved posting on the mental health forum on here and got a less than helpful reply which upset me earlier in the week so think im just going to stay here.

So im now waiting until April (or 6 periods!) :)

PumpkinsMum18 · 14/10/2018 21:00

@McHelenz so sorry you didn’t get the help you needed on the other forum Sad hope you aren’t too upset. We are here for you if you need, no judgement ❤️

McHelenz · 14/10/2018 21:03

Im ok now. Basically my dad died 5 years ago and it was a big trigger for my already fragile head. The first comment I got was "why are you still upset about it after all this time, my dad died when I was 24 and I got over it, 6 months tops".

I just want to get over this sex thing, Im 30, this shouldn't be happening. Its just embarrassing to talk about.

AlwaysaNortherner · 14/10/2018 21:14

I'm sorry to hear that @McHelenz. Even if you had nothing else going on of course you're allowed to be upset about your dad 5 years on, and it sounds like you have other stuff you're dealing with too. I'm sorry someone was so insensitive, particularly on the mental health board.

I've just joined this group (probably while you were on holiday!) Waiting until January Smile

McHelenz · 14/10/2018 21:45

Yea I think I made the right choice joining this group. I think I'll just stick here.

January will be here so quick!

PastaSauceHoarder · 15/10/2018 10:50

Welcome back @McHelenz, glad you had a lovely trip! Smile

Jesus some people! Imagine getting a reply like that on the Mental Health forum. Confused Sorry that you had to deal with that, people can just be so stupid. Flowers

So how is everyone today? Did anyone else get a wee stab of jealously when they heard that Meghan Markle is pregnant or just me? Wink

dottydally · 15/10/2018 11:26

Jumping on to say the exact same as @PastaSauceHoarder. I am so jealous! Which is ridiculous as I don't know her and it doesn't impact me in any way.

OP posts:
McHelenz · 15/10/2018 19:23

Thanks @pastasaucehoarder. Not good is it really!!

Im not jealous...or maybe I am? First thing I thought was she's not been married 5 minutes! 2 and a half years here!!!

Jelliestogether · 15/10/2018 21:04

@pastasaucehoarder....yup same here. I just keep telling myself won't be long til it's my turn. Only 2 more full cycles left 😀 definitely better counting cycles!

AlwaysaNortherner · 16/10/2018 17:23

I had a crazy day at work yesterday and didn't even see the news until you posted it here! I'm pleased for them though. They seem very happy together and considering her age I think they've been very lucky.

@Jelliestogether since I came off the pill my cycles have been pretty short so I'm happier counting months. Looks like I'm going to have 2 periods in October, one at either end!!

PumpkinsMum18 · 17/10/2018 07:35

Just been reading other Mumsnet threads about babies who scream constantly all day and only sleep a couple hours a night for months on end..... hope we know what we are getting ourselves in for! 😅🤣

McHelenz · 17/10/2018 07:55

@pumpkinsmum18 it's ok, my baby won't do that. 😂 #naive

PastaSauceHoarder · 17/10/2018 10:29

You know what, I work in a very woman-heavy environment and when I got pregnant it was suddenly everyone's (who was already a mum) favourite hobby to tell me all the bad parts of parenthood with a cheery grin on their faces. Hmm

"Oh mine had colic and didn't sleep for FIVE MONTHS!"

"Think you're tired now, wait til the baby comes, hahahah!"

"Oh a girl? How nice. Girls aren't very affectionate, too independent. Now BOYS are lovely."

And don't get me started on the labour stories. 😂
But all this time on and I feel very smug when they ask how my daughter is doing, because from day one she has always been an absolute angel child (and I promise I don't just say that as her mum!)

So my advice is just take what you hear with a pinch of salt - to every hard part of parenting theres always a thousand good parts to love and enjoy anyway! 💛

McHelenz · 17/10/2018 10:52

I've just become a bit obsessed with Mrs Hinch... I'm not good with cleaning and our house is always a bit untidy. I'm proper gutting the place today. Who knew an insta could be so uplifting! I've put washing out, done the dishes and washing a load before 11. This is like a miracle for me

dottydally · 17/10/2018 16:56

I will read the thread properly later but I just wanted to come on and say I have just seen my first person browsing MN in public! She is perusing the feminism chat section, so not our thread, but I feel like we are in some kind of secret club

OP posts:
PastaSauceHoarder · 17/10/2018 19:17

@dottydally how funny! I wonder if anyone ever thinks that about me, I often MN in public too. 😂

Tropicana1 · 19/10/2018 13:52

@McHelenz I have also recently become obsessed with Mrs hinch!! Revolutionised my cleaning regime haha!

McHelenz · 19/10/2018 14:01

@tropicana1 I am clockwise cleaning all my rooms!!

AlwaysaNortherner · 30/10/2018 21:36

This dropped off my active threads so I thought I'd pop back and say hello. I'm now onto my second October period Hmm But only 3 more to wait! How is everyone? As soon as the clocks went back I started getting excited about Christmas... Grin

dottydally · 30/10/2018 22:06

Hello @AlwaysaNortherner! I've been wondering how people are but you know how it is, life runs away with you.

I am SO EXCITED for Christmas and have kicked into Christmas shopping mode. It's also got really cold all of a sudden which I love. Big coats, boots and hats! Not so excited about defrosting my car each day but you can't love it all...

OP posts:
dottydally · 30/10/2018 22:18

Oh and @AlwaysaNortherner we also have three to go! Although my cycles are longer than yours I think. It's annoying because my app isn't tracking things properly. I had one long cycle in the summer because I took Norethisterone, taking me from 32 to 37 days. I told my app I had taken it but it still thinks that all future cycles will be 37 days even though they are always 32/33 (and I'm putting this info in each month).

I think I need a new app!
