Anybody else? I'm on CD16, pretty sure I ovulated over the past day or two, now for the long frustrating wait to POAS! Why is it so hard to resist for 14 measly days?!

We are TTC #2 and this is our first cycle of trying.

Thanks @MrsRRC fingers crossed here for you too - keep us updated!

I am a little early to be spotting so its possible but I think implant bleeding is quite rare rather than common. I'll just have to wait it out I guess!

Afternoon ladies

So AF is due Monday ish and my boobs have just started hurting, anyone else got this? I don’t have a good feeling as I think this is the run up to AF’s grand appearance :(

@MrsRRC - definitely agree there, it is torture! Don’t rule yourself out yet if AF isn’t here, it can take a bit for your HCG level to be readable on a test (I honestly think women who get BFPs five days before a period is due are unicorns!!)

@Glamourbear - glad your partner is so supportive! That’s lovely to hear :) mine is so laidback he’s practically horizontal! You can definitely join the rubbish club but we all have to find some positives somewhere now to pick ourselves up! Hormones and stress and all that certainly do not help!

How is everyone this afternoon? This TTC malarkey can’t half get lonely. You ladies are the only ones I talk to about it! X

GlamourBear · 26/09/2018 13:54

@Fae1989 I find this forum so supportive it's lovely. A good place to have a moan when you need plaster on a smile on real life! I try not to go on about it too much to DH in case he gets fed up!

That could be pg symptoms not AF? Its so hard to tell isn't it! I wish I had the patience every month to see if AF arrives but alas I am a poas addict!

@Glamourbear - me too! I have rationed myself and currently 9dpo and haven’t tested yet woohoo!!

BP123x · 26/09/2018 14:13

Hey ladies i have been reading through and trying to get my head around all the key words - DPO, AF, OH - i'm so new to this!!

I dont know if anyone has had anything similar.... i'm waiting on my period and wondering if i'm pregnant - i'm so impatient.

I had my last injection in October 17, was due to have it again January 18. Light periods (super light and brown, like old blood) until this month. 2nd Sep had my first proper heavy bleed. I lost track of days and took a Clearblue ovulation test on Wed 19th. I have had flashing smiley faces every morning since which means a rise is estrogen? I have also had cramps and light pink/brown spotting last week!

I guess i'm due my period in the next week or so (i have no idea what my cycle length is) but took a test yesterday afternoon (probably too early) and it was negative.

Has anyone else had anything like this? Could i be pregnant? Or has anyone else been pregnant and had flashing smiley faces for over 10 days after ovulation?

LottieB87 · 26/09/2018 14:25

@MrsRRC sorry for the BFN this morning but as others have said, it could just be late to show for you. Hoping for you.

@GlamourBear hoping for you too, indeed implantation bleeding is much less common than people seem to think, but you're by no means out yet!

@Fae1989 I find this forum super supportive too, it's great. Only my sister and close friend (who is pregnant - took her 2 years - her last month of trying was my first!) know we are ttc, and my sister doesn't really understand the stress of trying and the disappointment, and my pregnant friend just wants to forget about it all and enjoy being pregnant - understandable! Indeed it does get very lonely. It's such a personal and private experience.

LottieB87 · 26/09/2018 14:28

@BP123x that sounds really frustrating! Was it depo injection? I had that once, I hated it! Weeks and weeks of heavy bleeding! I don't remember coming off it - I never stopped bleeding/spotting!

So you're still getting flashy smileys?

BP123x · 26/09/2018 14:32

Hi @LottieB87 thank you so much for your quick reply! Yes it was depo and I was on it for a long time, around 3 or 4 years I think. I didn't get any AF at all when i was on it so i know this period meant it was out of my system! Yes i'm still getting flashing smiley faces - why on earth would I be getting that if im in week 4 - day 25 since first day of AF. Plus, I had cramps and pinky spotting a week or so ago, but not like anything i have had before!? xx

cupcakesandglitter · 26/09/2018 14:48

Afternoon @Fae1989 😊 I keep running to the loo, convinced that AF is here but nothing at all 😩 my boobs are definitely bigger and I've got some backache too, but it's more sore than anything. I don't want to test because I'm too scared of being disappointed :( how are you? XX

I agree @LottieB87 it's so lovely to have such a supportive forum xx

LottieB87 · 26/09/2018 15:01

@BP123x I know that it's normal to get an estrogen surge during the luteal phase (after ovulation) but I couldn't tell you if seeing it for that long is normal or not, I'm sorry. Did you get a peak at all? How do you know you ovulated? It does sound mega confusing and annoying, hugs!

Ugh.. depo. Never again for me!

Fae1989 · 26/09/2018 15:05

@cupcakesandglitter - I know what you mean! When are you going to test? Sorry if you’ve already said, I can’t keep up with this thread haha!

I’m ok thanks lovely. Hope you are too? It’s so confusing isn’t it, these symptoms for me could go one was or the other X

MrsRRC · 26/09/2018 15:31

@LottieB87 I’m sorry for your BFN too, still a chance though. I’m feeling a bit more pragmatic post lunch. It’s very easy to ‘know’ you are pregnant but you don’t know you ‘know’ until you are, I suppose, isn’t it? I was certain it would be a bfn but as @fae said some ladies are unicorns (ps that made me laugh 😆) 🦄

I actually had a chat with my sister who had a little girl (now 5) and she said just chill out and wait and although I knew that already (and it’s easy for her to say) I think I just needed to hear it.

cupcakesandglitter · 26/09/2018 15:53

@Fae1989 oh no it's okay, these threads move super fast 😅 I tested on Monday and it was a BFN, I'm so unsure of when to test next! I'm okay thanks, I'm away for work atm, so I've just had a nice few days to myself to relax x

BP123x · 26/09/2018 15:57

@LottieB87 I have no idea! I started testing far to late in my cycle like a total melon. But the fact is is staying flashing is making me think why...

I have read lots of forums saying that people were getting flashing smileys just before they got a positive pregnancy test! xx

BP123x · 26/09/2018 15:59

@GlamourBear how many days are you leaving it until you do a P test?? Sorry to jump on the thread - i hope you ladies dont mind, im driving my husband nuts with my obsession over it lol! xx

BP123x · 26/09/2018 16:00

@Fae1989 my AF is due Sunday/Monday too (that's if im 28 days!) When are you planning on testing? Do you know if you have a regular cycle? Sorry 21 questions! xx

Fae1989 · 26/09/2018 16:06

@BP123x - hello lovely! Welcome to the thread :) I saw your message but out and about at the moment so wanted to reply when I had access to a proper keyboard! Are you tracking your cycles at all? I didn’t know what length my cycles were until I’d tracked my periods for a few months, easier to spot patterns. Mine tend to be between 25-27 days and don’t vary from that really. The other ladies might know a bit more about opks and peaks/smiley faces and @LottieB87 is really helpful too! Like she said you can get positives because of the LH surge. Tracking your cycles is a great way to start as it gives you an idea of how they work etc. If you know roughly when you’re due on I would test around then (clearer results and less chance of a false negative) x

BP123x · 26/09/2018 16:12

@Fae1989 I haven't been able to track them as i haven't had 2 'proper' bleeds yet, this month was my first. It feels like forever as I haven't had an injection since last October! I guess time will tell. The problem i'm having is i have no idea when to test as i have no idea when im due! I had a couple of months prior to my heavy bleed where I was every 28/27 days so maybe i should base it on that.

If you're due on Monday, when will you be testing? Have you tried the clear blue early detection?

@LottieB87 has been so lovely! This is all so new to be so i'm trying to learn from everyone else's experience xx

Fae1989 · 26/09/2018 16:13

@cupcakesandglitter - it’s so frustrating isn’t it?! Is AF due for you this weekend?

@MrsRRC - definitely agree re the knowing you’re pregnant! I think once you know it’s real your body kind of tells you?! When I first conceived and certainly didn’t have any weird instinctual feeling haha!

I feel like a mass testing is occurring this weekend 😀

cupcakesandglitter · 26/09/2018 16:32

@Fae1989 AF was due for me around Sunday/Monday I think. Average around 29/30 days and now I'm CD34 xx

ChikiTIKI · 26/09/2018 17:35

Hi everyone. I'm really looking forward to all the testing this weekend, please keep me posted! I have my fingers crossed for you all.

Sorry about the BFN Lottie. Sending hugs.

Only update from me is that I have had more "spotting" today, pinky tinged ewcm. Also I am sad because my car was stolen last night... Still feeling like I am in the fertile window because of the spotting, ewcm and open cervix. Not sure if we are in the mood to dtd tonight though. I am tired after my hour long walk home from work! :(

Fae1989 · 26/09/2018 17:38

@BP123x - apologies, was typing a reply and my phone battery died! I've never had depo so don't know much about them. You could maybe get some cheap tests and test around an average cycle - say day 28? If you've had previous cycles of that length it sounds like a good place to start? Sorry I haven't been much help! Does depo mess up your cycles when you come off it then?

I've never used the Clearblue ones but I have used First Response and they're pretty good. Every woman is different (I'm probably telling you what you already know) and I don't like their claims that they tell you five days before AF is due because I seriously think (as I said earlier) those ladies are unicorns that get results that early! I got a pretty faint positive the day before AF was due...hence why I'm now reticent to test early.

@cupcakesandglitter - glad you've had a few days to relax! That sounds really confusing. I remember someone showing me statistics of how long it takes to get positives on a test and most people it's after AF is due. I guess it's when you feel happy to test again? A lot of us are testing this weekend so you're welcome to join :) we're all here for moral support.

x

Fae1989 · 26/09/2018 17:43

@ChikiTIKI - hello! So sorry to hear about your car :( that's awful. Hope you are okay?
x

cupcakesandglitter · 26/09/2018 17:46

@ChikiTIKI ah I'm so sorry to hear that - we were broken into a few months back and my car was stolen, I can completely sympathise about how shitty it is. Don't let yourself stress too much about it, it's still super important to look after yourself xx

@Fae1989 ooh definitely! If AF isn't here I'll join on the testing. Currently trying to convince myself not to test tomorrow morning, I have to wake up two hours earlier than normal so my temp will be weird. And also tests are bloody expensive 😂😂😂 xx

Fae1989 · 26/09/2018 17:52

@cupcakesandglitter - It's really hard not to test sometimes haha, I was terrible in my first month! I nearly bankrupted myself on FRERs so I have been very good and ordered a set of two which I am waiting to use!! You have some serious restraint that you haven't tested since Monday! Fingers crossed :D x
