Anybody else? I'm on CD16, pretty sure I ovulated over the past day or two, now for the long frustrating wait to POAS! Why is it so hard to resist for 14 measly days?!

We are TTC #2 and this is our first cycle of trying.

Ladies I am hoping and praying you all get a BFP 💖🌟💖 I saw someone on another thread about two weeks ago talking about cheap strip tests not being accurate or being as sensitive as they indicated that they were.

Flossy 😂😂😂😂 I love your honesty and feisty approach to AF 😁 I have everything crossed for you 🤗

London I have everything crossed for you too 🤗 you will get a more accurate result if you test from 12 dpo.

Carastarchild · 14/09/2018 20:20

Bubble are you going to test in the morning? I have everything crossed for you 🤗

My clear blue advanced fertility monitor tests for pregnancy as well. I don't know if the clear blue tests are as sensitive as the first response test... I must Google the sensitivity Wink

Bubblemumma1 · 14/09/2018 22:12

Hi everyone!

Oh London you’re tempting me to take the sensible approach and possibly wait until AF is late but I fear it’s too late for me. I POAS again this morning and it was another clear BFN!

Carastar Glad to hear your 12hrs of Sleep did you good!
I’ll test again tomorrow morning. I’ve had a banging headache all day and have had to retire to bed earlier than I’d have liked. Secretly hoping it’s a sign 😂

Flossy good luck tomorrow!

Flossytots · 15/09/2018 07:01

Morning ladies 👋

So I took your advice @Carastar and only used the FRER.

So within seconds of testing the second line came up but it was white 🤔 but when I held it to the light can see a line 😬😬😬 will try to take a pic.

DH said he won’t get too excited until it goes pink and becomes more visible. I don’t blame him after a chemical last month.

ChikiTIKI · 15/09/2018 07:06

@Lottie fingers crossed for you this weekend.

So I went back on my app all the way to when we conceived our first baby. Did I tell you this already? I can't remember. Sorry if I did...

Interesting finds were...
Didn't have sex that often. Never 2 days in a row.
Didn't have sex at all in what the app thought was my fertile week. I think I must ovulate quite early and have long leutal phase.
Didn't test until CD35!!

With first baby I got pregnant the first month so didn't have any tests in. Had never used one before. Assumed it would take several months so didn't want to obsess about testing. But not I know pregnancy is probably a likely outcome I just keep doing it!! Really want to be strong and do no early tests this month.

Good luck everyone this weekend.

Flossytots · 15/09/2018 07:07

Hope you all have a good weekend, will check back with another test either on Sunday or Monday. Baby dust to you all ✨✨✨✨✨✨

LondonKez · 15/09/2018 09:57

@flossytots I hope you get that pink line soon @bubblemumma1 good luck testing. I have become so invested in your stories 🤞🏼🌟🤞🏼🌟🤞🏼

@chikitiki thanks for sharing! We're trying for our first and I find it really interesting knowing how it worked for others. Like you, I'm also trying not to test early. I've been good for the last 9 months, but actually bought frers this month 😔

Carastarchild · 15/09/2018 11:13

Flossy Do you have a picture. Just to provide us with a better understanding of what you mean. What does the test look like now?

Bubblemumma1 · 15/09/2018 12:31

Morning ladies!

Flossy I’m at the edge of my seat!

ChikiTIKI thanks for sharing. I found it easy to get pregnant with both of mine but I was naive with my first and just went with the flow. With my second, I was still breastfeeding and the “Oh you’re going to have to wean first” comments made me a little doo-lally so I was using OPKs for Months before starting TTC. You’re still breastfeeding aren’t you?

Curly I hope you’re okay x

Mine was a BFN with morning with 0430 wee after my DS woke me up so he could go for a wee.
AF is due tomorrow and I normally start in the afternoon so I’m not going to bother testing. I’ve got 2 IC left and 2 of the bloody Ovaview tests left. If AF doesn’t show up and I end up cracking and forking out for a FRER then I’m going to be yet another person in the Long list of reviewers who’ve left a crap “DON’T waste your money on this rubbish!” review on Amazon 😂

ChikiTIKI · 15/09/2018 13:09

@Bubblemumma1 fingers crossed for your BFP.

I'm not breastfeeding anymore, I stopped just before my last cycle so on second cycle of no breastfeeding at all. I stopped breastfeeding for a few reasons, mainly:

  • going back to work
  • very long feeds. VERY long... I think due to lip tie which I only just noticed.
  • wanting another baby soon. I don't think I ovulated when BF.
  • wanting a small time period of having my body back to myself before doing it all again! :)
Carastarchild · 15/09/2018 13:22

I guess pregnancy tests are supposed to be used on the day our AF is due or the day after. Sometimes implantation can occur later, so I guess if you test on 11dpo you could get a false negative, if implantation is only occurring. All the literature that comes with the tests state that the % of accuracy increases closer to the day of your missed period. I know when I had a chemical pregnancy a line came up on a FRER and an ic at 12 dpo, and when I tested the day after the line started to fade until it disappeared. I also used a FRER when I found out I was pregnant with my son, but I took it after I missed my period. That's why I only test when I know my AF is later than normal. It hurts to see a blank staring back at you.

I am 100% tracking ovulation as it makes total sense for me to do so. My DH and I live busy lives, so it makes sense to me if I am trying to get pregnant, that I know when is the best time to dtd. I am going to be 37 in October.

Carastarchild · 15/09/2018 16:38

Chikitiki how old is your DC? I understand where you are coming from completely.

London It's hard not to test, when all we want to do is to find out. Fx you get a shiny BFP!

Flossy thanks for the baby dust...need I say that I really need it! You must have read all our minds. I really hope you get a nice strong line when you decide to test again. I understand your where you are coming from. Men are more rational in thinking while we are more emotional beings. Sometimes we need a balance of both.

Bubbles Sorry you got a BFN Sad Hopefully AF will stay away and you will get to test again on Monday! Fingers crossed for you.

LottieB I hope your DH returns in time to DTD! I know how you must have felt when you got a solid smiley while he was away. It would have felt like a stolen chance in a way if he didn't make it back in time. Fx for you that he did and that is why you are so quiet Grin ! My clearblue monitor is still giving me a high reading, without a LH Surge being detected. Myy cheap opk still isn't positive either, but I am only CD 12. I won't ovulate for another 2 or 3 days, which is pretty normal for me.

Glamour How are you? You must be approaching ovulation.

Betty Any update? I hope you are okay x

Curly I hope you are okay as well x

I hope I haven't missed anyone.

ChikiTIKI · 15/09/2018 19:03

@Carastarchild 11 months :)

Sounds like you're just about to ovulate. Good luck! Thinking of you xxx

Curlywurly3 · 16/09/2018 01:41

Hey Team!

So yesterday I had a bit of a meltdown. On Tuesday I did a test (FR) and there was clearly a line, not as dark as it should be but it was there. As the days went by the tests were getting lighter until yesterday.. nothing. I went to the doctors as this has now happened twice in 3 months. She told me all the texts were negative!?!?!?! So either my doctor is lying or FR are! So confused.
This morning AF came with a vengeance, much heavier than usual :(
Today I drove up north to look after my nephew for my sister for the night. He's 12wks old and I've just done his night feed, changed his nappy and put him back down in his cot next to me. Timing hey! He is adorable though and nice to have cuddles.

I'm fine, I'm just glad I know where I stand as this last week has been an emotional rollercoaster.

It has taught me one thing... I will never test early again, ever! I also now know my cycle runs like 'clockwork' as Natural Cycles told me this morning so at least I know now if I'm late or not!

We are definately due a BFP so FX for you all x

LondonKez · 16/09/2018 11:14

@curlywurly3 I'm sorry AF came. You've had a pretty rough week. There was no need for your doctor to be so insensitive. Did she have any explanation as to why the tests would have looked positive?

I think I'm out this month. AF not due for another few days, but this is my first month using Natural Cycles and my temperature is starting to drop now, so guessing it's on the way.

GlamourBear · 16/09/2018 13:03

I'm officially back in the game for this month, my fertile window has started today so poor DH will be kept busy for a few days 😂 anybody else starting thier fertile window?

We need some BFPs in October 😊

OP posts:
Bubblemumma1 · 16/09/2018 14:05

Sending you hugs Curly

You’re still in with a chance London x

We really need some BFPs on this thread!
I’m out. AF showed up right on time today. I’m fine with it. We’re going to take a break and TTC at the end of the year/Jan/Feb.
I hope to not see any of you back here and I’m hoping you’ll all be up-duffed by then Grin

I’m going to lurk because I’m a little too invested in your journies at this point x

Sprinkling you all with baby dust!!

LondonKez · 16/09/2018 15:02

Woohoo @glamourbear got my fingers crossed for you! We really need some BFP's!

@bubblemumma1 sorry AF got you. Good luck on your journey, the rest will probably do the world of good 💖

I don't have any AF symptoms yet, but equally don't feel pregnant either. The temp drop is a bit of a flag though, so I think I'm mentally prepared for her arrival. Onwards and upwards ladies xx

LottieB87 · 16/09/2018 18:40

Hi ladies!!

@Flossytots aaah we all have everything crossed for you!! (except legs.. lol)

@ChikiTIKI thank you lovely & that's really interesting re your first pregnancy! Gives me some hope. Aww... 11 months.. FX for number 2 coming soon, that would be my ideal age gap too (1.5-2 years) for the 2 kiddos I want!

@Bubblemumma1 awww noooo! I'm sorry! Well.. hope you don't have any ..accidents.. between now and Jan... Wink

@LondonKez hugs to you, yes I know that feeling seeing the temp drop a couple of days before AF. It's one of the reasons I've decided I'm going to stop temping. If I resolve to hold off testing until AF it's thwarted by that temp drop telling me she's coming. After 3 months temping I can see my cycle barely shifts by +/- 1 day so it's predictable enough with a calendar, plus it helped me to see that everything was happening as it should (along with OPKs).. but now I feel like it's just getting me down. I'll probably use up the rest of the OPKs but if I know I'm reliably ovulating on CD11 or CD12 there's no point doing any of it anymore unless my periods start going crazy.

@Curlywurly3 - that sounds horrible. Sending virtual chocolate and wine. I thought even a faint line on a FRER was positive? How confusing. I think you're right re the testing. I'd sooner the stress of waiting. I'm going to try not testing. Try. And that is a great sign about your cycles being clockwork. Aw... 12 weeks!! I saw a friend today who has a completely adorable 4 year old who wouldn't stop hugging me and 11 DAY OLD TWINS!!! I left with my ovaries crying..

@Carastarchild thank you lovely, well DP got back Friday night and we got busy straight away but I think I O'd on Friday night/Sat morning and he was feeling ill the next day so no more BD'ing.. only once this cycle on O-1 or O day. I don't feel so good about it. Months 1 and 2 we DTD on O-1 and O, month 3 it was O-3, O-2, O. So I know we're in with a chance but still I'm just not feeling positive about this month. Plus he was doing a lot of physical activity while he was away (and is 43 yrs old) so I just feel like.. meh. Probably wasn't even 'quality' stuff. Heh. Sigh. It's the same here, we both have such busy lives, if we just 'didn't prevent' it wouldn't happen, but at the same time I feel so much disappointment when I feel like we haven't made the most of the fertile window - I try to keep the pressure off DP a bit and make it fun and casual but inside I'm just screaming.

@GlamourBear GET TO IT WOMAN!! GrinGlitterball

Hope I didn't miss anyone!! FX for you all, baby dust all round, love and good vibes

Flossytots · 17/09/2018 07:15

Morning ladies, hope you all had a good weekend. I’m just trying to catch up with all the messages 😃 Just wanted to give you all a quick update.

So the stabbing pain has continued since 10/11dpo and it’s very noticeable. I can get both of 20-30 shocks in one go and it continues through the night on some days. On Saturday night I thought I was getting ill 🤒 I had a headache and cold and hot flashes and was soaked with sweat when I got up. Not pleasant at all.

Long story short, I tested yesterday and this morning using FRER and getting bfn.

Flo predicted af yesterday but I normally get it on the 17th but still no af today so keeping fingers crossed it doesn’t show up. Baby dust to you all ✨✨✨✨✨✨

Carastarchild · 17/09/2018 08:13

Rushing at the moment to get ready for work. I will catch up with you all on my tea break. Peak day for me 😊

TWW begins...stop me POAS every day!
Carastarchild · 17/09/2018 11:57

Flossy I hope AF doesn't show up, and you get a BFP. Maybe you aren't as dpo as you think, and I hope it was implantation that made you feel like that yesterday fx fx fx

Carastarchild · 17/09/2018 12:02

Lottie I just ordered preseed as well. I watched loads of videos on YouTube about it and thought why not give it a go 🤗 I really think that you have a great chance of getting pregnant 😍 The egg can live for 12 hours or so, and I feel you dtd just in time. I am so excited for you 😊 you are now in the tww 😀😁😀

LondonKez · 17/09/2018 13:16

@flossytots I hope AF keeps away and you get your BFP soon xx

@LottieB87 this was my first month temping and using OPKs (and preseed!). We were casually trying for about 4 months and nothing, so I tracked CM for a further 4 months and now our 9th month we went all out. Seeing that temp drop is probably as deflating as early testing!

@carastarchild we used preseed this month. Will probably continue for another month as I've heard such good things. Have a great day celebrating your peak!

Big love to you all, got everything crossed for you all 💖💖💖

AnxiousBetty · 17/09/2018 14:01

Hi ladies how is everyone doing?
I took some time out to enjoy the weekend and a family wedding!
I had a little more bleeding which was heavy ish for one day and then so light for another 2-3.
I've come down with an awful cold today and I'm still getting sickness. I just have convinced myself I'm not pregnant.
Just going to see if things clear up. I've put the nausea down to the cold at the moment.

I have missed so much! Has anyone got their BFP yet!? Thanks
