So I'm starting another two week wait, a bit sooner than anticipated. It seems I either ovulated CD 10 or 11 this cycle, which is very early for me.

Not sure if I'm 1 or 2dpo? Got a positive ovulation strip on Wednesday, by Thursday it was negative, but had lots of EWCM and CP was high soft and open. Would I get a negative OPK on the day or within hours of ovulation? Any advice would be much appreciated Smile.

Good luck ladies 🤞 Hopefully we get our BFPs this time! Xxx

@LulaRose wow that amazing!!!! Hope it stays positive for you!

Momma22 · 15/08/2018 10:17

Tested this morning. BFN Sad

Not gonna lie, I feel pretty upset this time, even though I kinda expected it. In other cycles, I've been pretty okay about a BFN, and optimistic for the next month, just really gutted this time for some reason.

Now just to wait for AF ...

Thethreeandme · 15/08/2018 10:33

@momma22 sorry for your bfn I had one this morning too.. now 4 or 5 days late. I have appointment with nurse at 4pm as now I'm worried there may be an underlying problem. My family have a history of early menopause so desperately hoping that's not to blame xx

Momma22 · 15/08/2018 10:54

@Thethreeandme sorry to here thatSad it's really crap isn't it? Even when you're kind of expecting it. Hopefully you get some answers when you go to your appointment. Really hope it's nothing serious, it's maybe just a bit of an odd cycle for you. Last year I remember an occasion when my period was 2 weeks late! I wasn't pregnant, and it's not happened again since nor had it happened before, my doctor just said it was due to stress/weight loss. Could it be something like that for you? Are your periods usually quite regular or is your period being late a common occurrence?

OP posts:
Thethreeandme · 15/08/2018 11:02

@momma22 they're relatively regular but I only have 3 cycles to go by. I'm kinda hoping for af now as I'm clearly not getting a bfp so I need the witch to prove I'm ok lol .. what are you feeling or thinking xx

Momma22 · 15/08/2018 11:15

@thethreeandme maybe this cycle's just a weird one for you, your period being late could be down to anything really? But I do get why you're worried considering you've a family history of early menopause.

Don't really know what to think now. There's still the possibility that I ovulated later than I thought and thats why I'm getting a BFN, I was astonished when I got a positive opk at cd 10 this month which is really early for me, so I've gone with cd11 as my ovulation day putting me at 13dpo today, but maybe I was wrong? Only way of knowing is if AF arrives in the next day or two ...

Momma22 · 15/08/2018 11:24

If I do come on tommorow I'll actually be quite surprised, as this will mean I've had a 25 day cycle. In the last 4 months of trying I've had a 32, 34, 28 day cycle, and historically I've always had on average a 32 day cycle give or take a couple of days. I'm just going by the 14dpo as being your expected period day theory. According to my Ovia and Clue app I'm not actually due til next week? But they're basing it on my past data rather than when I got a positive opk like my Glow app seems to be doing.

This is all so confusing!

Triskaidekaphilia · 15/08/2018 16:36

@LulaRose Congrats! Really hope it stays positive for you🤞

@Momma22 I think some cycles you just get hopeful so it feels like crap when you see a BFN, even when it's still early. I know this month I'm still holding onto a tiny bit of hope despite the BFNs but when AF shows I will be gutted. I only use Glow but it's all messed up because of my previous long cycles, so if this is another 29ish day one I'll be getting a different app and only putting these 2 months in.

I used my test with FMU today. I did intend to wait til tomorrow but I slept through the night for a change so thought it was the first time I could count it as proper FMU. Another BFN, and my cervix has gone low again, so I think I'm out for this month. Also still have cramping, bloating and starting to get the usual sore boobs so AF may well show tomorrow.

I may well have been wrong about my ovulation date or even ever ovulated. We actually last DTD on CD14 so if I ov'd after about CD16-17 then we wouldn't have concieved.

Owlpatrol · 15/08/2018 18:45

I'm due Saturday which would be cycle day 30 so I'm expecting spotting tomorrow or Friday at least. There's no way I'm pregnant this month I can just tell Sad

seastargirl · 16/08/2018 07:38

I'll so sorry @momma22 it's one of those things that only gets harder never easier, be kind to yourself and role on to the next cycle.

Congrats @lularose I hope it's a sticky one!

My temps have confirmed ov so I'm now 4dpo according to fertility friend, but think I'm getting a UTI so not sure if that'll interfere with things.

Owlpatrol · 16/08/2018 09:32

@Momma22 how you doing?

Owlpatrol · 16/08/2018 09:33

@LulaRose congratulations! Are you testing again? 8dpo is super early so congratulations! Xx

Momma22 · 16/08/2018 11:11

@Triskaidekaphilia if you're going to start using a different app next cycle, I'd highly reccomend Ovia! I love it, and it's been the more accurate of the 3 I use up to now, for me anyway.

@seastargirl thank you, you're right, in fact it gets harder as the months roll on. Hopefully I won't be ttc for much longer because it's so upsetting/confusing/frustrating etc

@Owlpatrol I'm feeling ok, due on today, but no sign of AF as of yet. It's just the waiting game now. I have the tiniest bit of hope left just as long as AF steers clear, so I'm praying I don't come on!

Me and DD are flying out tonight, we're away until Tuesday, if I don't come on by then, then I'll test when I get home.

OP posts:
Triskaidekaphilia · 16/08/2018 11:59

Thank you @Momma22 I did actually mean to ask which one you most reccomended. I didn't want to start over again with glow cos I want a record of my past cycles. I just saw that due to them being so long this is only my 13th cycle... which is my lucky number/number that follows me everywhere. It would be pretty spooky if it happened this cycle!

I don't feel AF coming any time soon, don't feel pregnant either but I wouldn't really know what that feels like! I'm thinking ov may have been later than I thought and we probably missed it.

I actually had signs of ovulation last night, pain right inside the hipbone and cervix high and open (it only went low because TMI warning- I needed a poo)... FML if I've ovulated on CD28 when DH was 100 miles away.

Momma22 · 16/08/2018 13:11

@Triskaidekaphilia really hope it happens for you this month! That would be spooky if it happens on the 13th cycle, only I hope it doesn't work out like that for me as my lucky number is 22, think I'd go insane if I was ttc for 22 months! I really feel for women that actually do go through this for that amount of time and longer.

I don't feel AF coming either, no cramps, no sore boobs, not really craving sweet things and my cervix is high again? I think I was in a similar situation to you a few days back when my cervix was low and hard, sorry if tmi, but I reckon it might have been because I was really constipated, lol.

& despite being pregnant twice before, I'm still none the wiser to what it actually feels like to be pregnant in those early days. I honestly didn't feel any 'different'
It will probably just take you by surprise when it does happen!

Hopefully the pain in your hipbone is potentially pregnancy related and not ovulation! Keeping everything crossed for you!

OP posts:
Triskaidekaphilia · 16/08/2018 13:44

@Momma22 Thank you, really hope it's your month too. I've been constipated as well, apparently it's really common in the TWW regardless of outcome; due to progesterone I think.

Not sure what to do about testing. I have one normal test left. Could get ICs so I can test regularly if AF doesn't show up. If not I could test two weeks after the latest date I was likely to concieve.

Momma22 · 16/08/2018 14:03

@Triskaidekaphilia I think you're always best leaving it as late as possible to test for the most accurate result. But in reality it's just too hard to resist testing early! The not knowing kills me, I'm always guilty of early testing because im so impatient and just want answers asap!

When is AF due for you?

I'll definitely be waiting until Tuesday if AF doesn't show up. I'll be at my parents house if I test in the next few days, just me and DD, and I think I've changed my mind about surprising OH when I finally get a a BFP, I actually think I'd like him to be there when I find out as he was with DD. Maybe him being there will bring me some luck as I've only tested on my own up to now.

I am so paranoid I am about to start AF at any minute, AF not being here yet is the only hope I have let for this cycle. I was back and forth to the loo last night in work, to keep checking AF hadn't started, my colleagues must have wondered what the hell was wrong with me, lol.

Triskaidekaphilia · 16/08/2018 14:05

Feeling horribly sick and exhausted after completing about a third of my usual gym workout. Could be AF, pregnancy or coming down with a bug!

Triskaidekaphilia · 16/08/2018 14:11

@Momma22 well if it's another 29 day cycle I'm due today... if my cycles are still irregular then who knows!

That's nice that you'll be testing with your OH! Maybe you're right it'll bring you luck... sounds like it worked last time!

Momma22 · 16/08/2018 14:13

Oh I do hope it's not the latter, fingers crossed! Good on you getting down to the gym, I've not set foot in the gym since DD was born, I have been trying to get my body in tip top shape for pregnancy, getting myself out for a half an hour jog whenever I can, which I actually really enjoy once I get going, it's just finding the motivation. But I do need to do something if I don't want to get huuuge in my next pregnancy, I didn't put on too much weight with DD but I have a feeling I won't be as lucky twice , lol. Treating me and DD to a Burger King in the airport tonight, then we're all going on a health kick!

OP posts:
Triskaidekaphilia · 16/08/2018 14:25

I basically didn't exercise at all prior to this year. I started to try and increase my chances of getting pregnant and also because I thought I owed it to myself to have a good body once before pregnancy otherwise it'd be even harder for me afterwards. I have lost around 10kg/1 and a half stone so now I'm a healthy bmi, but I've also gained muscle and lost fat from the heavy weights, so I look thinner than what I weigh. I'm still not done but would be happy to pause my progress for a pregnancy!

Triskaidekaphilia · 16/08/2018 14:26

Oh and I had some very sugary cereal, pretzel and a chocolate twist today but I'll be on 2 weeks of eating healthily for my holiday from tomorrow Grin

Momma22 · 16/08/2018 14:35

@Triskaidekaphilia good for you! I'm sure you're so pleased with your progress and you've probably greatly increased your chances of getting pregnant by getting healthier!

Interestingly when we went away on holiday last year, despite DD only being a year old I'd managed to get myself down to the slimmest I've ever been, even before pregnancy. Can't say I'm that slim now, still a healthy weight for my height but definitely a bit wobblier, lol. But I didnt actually find it any harder to shift the weight after I'd given birth, but of course everybody's different, I think what massively helped me was the fact that I only work part time now, so less temptation of grabbing an unhealthy lunch during the work day, and more days off to get out for a walk with the buggy and whatnot, plus running around after a toddler.

I think I eat far too much rubbish at work these days and that's the change I need to make to improve my overall health.

OP posts:
Triskaidekaphilia · 16/08/2018 14:42

That's great that you managed that only a year after giving birth, and that you're still a healthy weight! If you want to tone up a bit I highly reccomend weight training! I've been told you can keep it up during pregnancy too, but maintaining the same weight rather than increasing. I'm really struggling today though.

Momma22 · 16/08/2018 15:14

@Triskaidekaphilia my partner also reccomended weight training to me for toning up. I should give it a go, maybe do some resistance exercises of an evening when DD is in bed, I'm just really rubbish when it comes to anything like that, I'm so weak!
