Too early for a September bus?

KinCat · 30/07/2018 08:36

I've (intentionally) missed out on an August BFP due to planned holidays but I'm crossing my fingers for a 7th September BFP/AF! Not sure if there's a September thread already?

Age: 27
TTC: No. 1
Cycle: 1

Getting my coil taken out this coming weekend and really hoping I'm one of the lucky ones whose cycle goes straight back to normal! I haven't had a period for years but have been tracking my bbt for the past month.

Hi guys, joining from the August bus!!

Age: 29
TTC: no 2
Cycle: 2
Af due: 10th September

I was so hopeful last month and I really thought I was pregnant and then af showed up bang on time! It’s made me think about trying not to symptom spot as much and I’m gonna try and not get to obsessive with it this month. Heading to Rome on the 27th and according to my apps I’m also ovulating on that day! Hopefully there will will be something in the Italian air 😂

I have 4 opks left from last month so i might use them but to be honest I’m thinking maybe just to see what happens without doing any tracking and take the relaxed approach!

I will read through the thread and catch up with all you lovely ladies when I have time :) xx

PeanutButterJellyTime2 · 19/08/2018 12:15

So hard not to symptom spot @Lubilu28! I did it for the first few months and I was so disappointed as there was a couple times I thought it was definitely happening. I'm trying really hard this month to be more relaxed, not overthink things, but I know I will be gutted if AF turns up. Due in two days!

LittleTipple · 19/08/2018 12:54

Hey everyone, loving reading the thread. I'm on day 4 of flashing smiley OPK, which isn't normal for me. I'm first cycle after miscarriage so I was expecting it to be odd. I am getting ewcm and other ovulation symptoms, so hoping it is just a bit delayed. We are BDing anyway and seeing what happens. I'm definitely trying not to obsess this month, as it makes AF arriving so much harder.

muddypuddlejumping · 19/08/2018 13:55

Hello can I join please? This is my first time posting.

Age: 32
TTC: number 2
Cycle: 1 officially although have been off the pill for a few months.
AF due: 7th September

Currently on holiday and happy to start trying now. Hoping all the relaxing will help too!

Newbie21 · 19/08/2018 15:18

@LittleTipple I'm on day 5 of flashing smiley and I too have been having ovulation symptoms - ewcm, twinges in my right ovary although twinges have stopped now. I'm only on CD10 so I guess I could have another 4 days or so of flashing smileys. I'm convinced im going to ovulate in the next 12 hours or so and I don't want to miss it on the opk. I missed it last month and had a very early AF hence the early testing this month. Hope you get your static smiley soon. What CD are you? And what's your usual cycle length?

Spottyyellowdress · 19/08/2018 15:20

Marking my place here as I’m only on cd6

Age 30
Ttc no. 1
Cycle 14

Just been referred to the fertility clinic so not holding out much hope anymore.

LittleTipple · 19/08/2018 16:10

@Newbie21 I'm starting to hate the flashing smiley! Just took another test this afternoon and still flashing! I'm on CD14 and I've usually ovulated by now. I was expecting to ovulate late, but I'm also aware that OPKs can be inaccurate just after a miscarriage, so it's all a bit of a guessing game. Hoping the ewcm is a good sign, although there hasn't been much today. The other option is that I've missed the surge. My cycles vary from 25 - 28 days.

@Spottyyellowdress Don't lose hope yet. I was similar when TTC DC1. Cycle 15 was a success!

Spottyyellowdress · 19/08/2018 16:29

@LittleTipple Thank you! 🤞 I really hope it is. At the point where I’ve convinced myself I’ve got some horrible incurable infection or something and getting so worked up. Got an acupuncture appointment booked for next week so I feel like I’m being proactive at least!

LittleTipple · 19/08/2018 16:36

@Spottyyellowdress yes feeling proactive is a great idea. I did reflexology, which if nothing else was very relaxing! We got tested and all was fine with me, DHs swimmers weren't ideal, but nothing too serious. It was the month we were on holiday, not charting and totally relaxed that we conceived.

veeboo · 19/08/2018 16:58

Hi everyone, I'm doing internet cheapie opks...what does the flashing smiley on clearblue mean? Last month I got a positive on cd16 and assume I ovulated the following day. Dtd at the right time but BFN. I'm currently on cd15 and just got a very weak line. We tried to dtd this morning but (tmi sorry) bf couldn't finish. Do any of you also have this problem?

Lubilu28 · 19/08/2018 18:45

@PeanutButterJellyTime2 I know I say this now but once I’m in that tww I know I won’t be able to help it 🙈!

What doesn’t help is one of my close friends has just announced shes pregnant! we were both ovulating the same time and telling each other what symptoms we were having so to hear that has hit me pretty hard!! X

LittleTipple · 19/08/2018 19:58

@veeboo the flashing smiley means 'high' fertility (oestrogen levels are rising and sex at this point could result in a BFP if the swimmers can hang around long enough). Then when the smiley face stays static it means 'peak' fertility with ovulation due imminently and definitely time to get to it.

veeboo · 19/08/2018 21:07

Thanks @Littletipple. Wondering if they are worth investing in. Maybe after another month or two!

kmcneil91 · 19/08/2018 21:46

@MinCat thank you for the info started on them this AM. Friday was meant to be the first day of SMEP but we ended up out with work colleagues and it was a good night. Was a year since I had my op so small celebration maybe... Grin anyways try from today onwards off for a city break this week/weekend so hopefully it doesn’t throw us off completely. 3rd wedding annoversary Wednesday to so it would be nice.

kmcneil91 · 19/08/2018 21:47

@KinCat that was meant for you. Autocorrect!

KinCat · 20/08/2018 01:02

@kmcneil91 nice one! I think I'll start using them properly next cycle. I feel like our timing this cycle wasn't the best (although that's mostly because we couldn't find time to dtd for a couple of days around my ovulation).

Got a temp rise today so should be into the 2ww! Not too hopeful because of timing plus work is really stressful atm which I don't think can be good for fertility.

We had our traditional Chinese marriage ceremony yesterday so everyone there (not many just DH's close family) was wishing us to have lots of children quickly! I'd imagine if we were further along in the TTC process it would have been a bit stressful but at this stage it just felt encouraging.

KatBeCool · 20/08/2018 03:19

Joining from the August bus. Somehow my last cycle was only 24 days when it's normally 30. So I am on CD13 today and I purposely didn't buy any pregnancy tests to remove the temptation.

One thing I want to mention... I've never gotten the solid smiley with FMU. It was always always midday. I would've missed it had I relied only on FMU. I know Clear Blue recommends FMU but it doesn't work for me. On days I think I'm about to ovulate I test twice a day, morning and afternoon.

KinCat · 20/08/2018 06:59

Hi @KatBeCool I'm very close to you, cycle day 15 here and fertility friend says I should test on 2nd September. Have you ovulated yet?

I think not buying any pregnancy tests is a good idea although it's way too easy to just pick some up from the shops! We're going on holiday from 30 August and I'll definitely be trying to resist the temptation to pack any pregnancy tests (I know there are a couple in my bathroom somewhere).

OP posts:
KatBeCool · 20/08/2018 07:04

@KinCat I ovulated today I am sure. Felt cramps here and there so it had to have happened. Have you?

We're going on a holiday on the 29th, not testing until then.

veeboo · 20/08/2018 07:04

Hi @kincat and @Catbecool. I'm also CD 15 today but not had positive opk yet. Last month I got the positive on cd25 and cd16 and had a 30day cycle but my cycles have varied between 30 and 33 days over the last 5 months so not expecting it to necessarily be today!

veeboo · 20/08/2018 07:07

Sorry wrong tag @KatBeCool

KinCat · 20/08/2018 07:11

@KatBeCool yeah I think I o'd on either Saturday or Sunday. Now just to wait..

Hi ladies, just catching up. Hi to all the newbies 👋 and good luck to everyone already in the TWW. I had EWCM yesterday so will be DTD lots this week! Feeling more positive compared to last month 🤞

muddypuddlejumping · 20/08/2018 08:10

How often do you all dtd? As we're on holiday, things are a lot more relaxed so it's easier to do it more often but I've read lots about every other day being best?
We fell pregnant on just one try last time so I know how lucky that was.

LollyDaffs · 20/08/2018 08:30

Hi, totally new to site, this is my first post.

Age: 31
TTC: #1
Cycle: #4

Came off pill at end of March, been having really long cycles since. They’re gradually getting shorter so hoping September is the month! On CD7 now. Good luck to everyone TTC this month!
