Too early for a September bus?

I've (intentionally) missed out on an August BFP due to planned holidays but I'm crossing my fingers for a 7th September BFP/AF! Not sure if there's a September thread already?

Age: 27
TTC: No. 1
Cycle: 1

Getting my coil taken out this coming weekend and really hoping I'm one of the lucky ones whose cycle goes straight back to normal! I haven't had a period for years but have been tracking my bbt for the past month.

Soft cup are used to 'hold it all up there' so to speak to 🙈 we used them for the first time last month but no sucess, however they were a really good method and means there's no legs up for ages you can just carry on with your day.
I think the opks vary from person to person, some get there peak around midday but some might get them in the evening. I never get a peak on clear blue with first morning urine so always test again around 12 after i get the first flashy day as other wise I am likely to miss it

cupcakesandglitter · 17/08/2018 14:27

@ImpatientMammy @Moo8879 ooh Thankyou!! I must say, it sounds super clever - I DETEST the leak after 🙄 sorry tmi but I can't stand it 😂😂 xx

GreatestShowWoman · 17/08/2018 15:22

I used my mooncup this time as needed to put it in with my daughter around So syringe wasn’t the easiest I then still did the lie down bum up.

CornishFairing · 17/08/2018 16:32

Hello all,

Hopping back on just in time ! I had to hop off the bus for a couple of weeks as my dd has had a terrible cold / ear infection / sleep regression combo and literally nothing has been getting done.... no sleeping, cleaning and certainly no ttc!!

Until last night , dtd on day 16 of 31 day cycle. Hope not too late ... cm very egg whitey yesterday and loads of it (tmi sorry!).

Can't decide whether to come on to DH again tonight or save it till tomorrow !

Catching up with all the updates - mooncup thing is fascinating. Does that really help! I've also seen the word "syringes" but haven't managed to find the post containing the context yet.

Good luck everyone !!

CornishFairing · 17/08/2018 16:35

Also wanted to add that I've not gone any ovulation sticks in stock this time round ... last time I recall finding them a bit confusing and kept forgetting to do it at the right time of day. Just going off cycle day and cm .... are others peeing on ov sticks?

GreatestShowWoman · 17/08/2018 18:33

Moo8879 are you ttc as a lone parent or a couple? Have you had any tests? 11 months is a long time!

GreatestShowWoman · 17/08/2018 18:38

kincat yes first cycle since dd 8 years ago! Never got on with the tests for dd as never seemed to get a proper darker than the rest line, line, so thought I’d go digital this time. I’ve never tried temps I do have a clear blue monitor at home but didn’t use it this month as knew I would be away so might start on it next month

CornishFairing · 17/08/2018 18:46

greatest do you mind scaring which digital machine you use? Might look into this ..... thanks

Moo8879 · 17/08/2018 18:49

@greatestshowwoman same sex couple. First 6 months were with frozen the last 4 have been a fresh donor with only the last one using the soft cup. Haven't had any tests as yet, will look into some if this month fails, not really sure where we stand with getting tests as I know we won't get any help on the nhs. My sister (straight) took 12months to fall so I figured it's that uncommon and when you add in the other factors not overly surprising. I've been temping and using opks with the clear blue digi

GreatestShowWoman · 17/08/2018 18:58

NHS help is a postcode lottery for same sex couples

GreatestShowWoman · 17/08/2018 19:00

That’s a good attitude to have though I think most people conceive in three cycles. I know I’m going to be irrationally depressed if I don’t get pregnant this month cos I got lucky first time with DD.

GreatestShowWoman · 17/08/2018 20:07

I have the clear blue fertility monitor the cheaper older one!

Moo8879 · 17/08/2018 23:20

@greatestshowwoman how long have you been trying?

GreatestShowWoman · 17/08/2018 23:21

This is my first month for number 2 hence the irrational bit 😂

Dwellington · 17/08/2018 23:41

CD7 now and what I can only assume is down the acupuncture I had 2 days ago, I’ve now got bright red bleeding again after finishing AF CD5 as usual! Never had a longer period in my life let alone for it to go away and come back again Confused

I’m hopeful in one respect it shows the acupuncture did something? As it’s literally such a one off and not changed anything else. But also I don’t want a longer period if it’s going to push back ovulation and make this cycle longer than expected! Should be starting to SMEP from tomorrow onwards too so I’m hoping it’s not going to hang around...

Mseddy · 18/08/2018 00:38

So I'm totally new to all of this (had to have a good old Google to understand all the acronyms!) But I thought I'd jump on the September train.

Age 29
Ttc #1
First cycle
Cd14

So I came off the POP in July, had a very short period the first week of August and according to the fertility tracking app I have I'm ovulating (don't have any tests). I'm symptomatic (from my memories pre pill days!) I've lost my appetite, headaches, nausea and left side cramping. So I'm hoping this means my cycle has gotten straight back on track post pill! Conceiving naturally for us is extremely unlikely, but I want to enjoy the normality of trying for a baby before we seek medical help. Looking forward to following people's journeys!

KinCat · 18/08/2018 04:59

@Mseddy why do you say conceiving naturally is unlikely, if you don't mind me asking?

@GreatestShowWoman same about it being my first cycle so it feels a bit silly to get too obsessed! It's just so interesting though! I thought temping was going to be a stressful hassle but it's actually fitted into my routine very easily and I enjoy seeing the pattern.

PeanutButterJellyTime2 · 18/08/2018 06:22

@Mseddy we are unlikely to conceive naturally either by giving it our best shot, I hope you get a lovely surprise and it works out for you x

Mseddy · 18/08/2018 10:22

@PenutButterJellyTime2 i hope it works out for you too! good luck!

@KinCat my DH had chemotherapy a few years ago so that leaves us with a high chance his sperm will be affected. We have frozen from pre treatment though if we need to go down that route.

sbhf1987 · 18/08/2018 10:54

Joining the bus as got off the August bus yesterday!
TTC #1
Cycle 2 officially, cycle 4 unofficially. First 2 cycles were really trying and since using OPKs last month realised I ov later than apps tell me
CD2 after 7 days of spotting which I’ve never had before

Had 3 crappy periods are a lifetime of regular ones so start acupuncture next week after going to the doctors this week where they didn’t seem to care!

mrss2018 · 18/08/2018 17:14

CD8 tomorrow so SMEP begins!
I'm really nervous!
We got pregnant first cycle without really trying in May (sadly resulted in mmc)
Really anxious that we won't get a BFP straight away again! I hope it wasn't a fluke!

em254 · 18/08/2018 18:36

@impatientMammy oh yes your right! I really hope so too. My SIL just gave birth today to a beautiful boy and I feel like my ovaries are going to explode!! 😫

KinCat · 19/08/2018 01:51

@Mseddy oh I see, I'm very sorry to hear that. Best of luck to you!

DH was funny last night. He suddenly thought "hmm maybe it would be better if you weren't pregnant when we go on holiday" and said perhaps we shouldn't try this month despite lots of ewcm, positive OPK and unprotected sex (all of which he was fully aware of!). I laughed and told him it might be too late. Men! I'm quite sure his momentary wobble won't stop him dtd later today 😂

I've ended up telling loads of people already that we're TTC. I'm really bad at brushing off questions so when people have asked when we'll have a baby I've just told them the truth.

Hello ladies,

I think I am on the September bus now.
I usually have a 28/29 day cycle and ovulate day 14. This month i ovulated day 15, and am now on day 30. No sign of a period yet (no cramps/twinges etc) and got a negative clear blue digital pregnancy test this morning. Am I definitely out for August? X

cupcakesandglitter · 19/08/2018 07:16

@oakleywhite until AF arrives I wouldn't say so!! Maybe wait a couple of days and test again? X
