Too early for a September bus?

KinCat · 30/07/2018 08:36

I've (intentionally) missed out on an August BFP due to planned holidays but I'm crossing my fingers for a 7th September BFP/AF! Not sure if there's a September thread already?

Age: 27
TTC: No. 1
Cycle: 1

Getting my coil taken out this coming weekend and really hoping I'm one of the lucky ones whose cycle goes straight back to normal! I haven't had a period for years but have been tracking my bbt for the past month.

@Noodella18 congratulations!

@veeboo so sorry AF showed up. Temping might well be the way to go to give you an idea as to when you ovulate and confirm you are on right track. I know it is so disheartening when AF turns up but you will get there.

I can feel the cramps now so not long for me.

ImpatientMammy · 03/09/2018 07:18

@Noodella18 congratulations !!!

I hope your ok @veeboo CD1 is always hard. If you use clearblues they tell you when to start having sex so less sex needed. If your feeling stressed that can mess up cycles my ovulation was delayed by a week this cycle. I've heard good things about acupuncture

My RHR has gone up again today 😆 CD6. Hopefully it's not just too much chocolate 😂 x

Lemonsugar245 · 03/09/2018 07:20

So it’s autumn and on queue I’ve got a cold 🤧. In better news I have an appointment at end of the month with a consultant haemotologist to try work out if I’m at risk of passing a haemophilia gene on. Not due on til Friday or Saturday. I really don’t think this month will be it. Congrats to everybody who has gotten a positive this month. I may see some of you on the December bus but I really hope I don’t!

veeboo · 03/09/2018 08:11

Thanks for the support ladies it really is so nice to have. I bought a bbt thermometer but I don't sleep well so struggled. I might try the clearblue opks this month as I have no idea what's going on with my cycle length...2 in a row the same would be nice! It's not the end of the world...We have a holiday this month in the tww so I know I can enjoy that.

Noodella18 · 03/09/2018 08:13

Ahhhh @veeboo so sorry to hear that 😞. Chin up. Remember that even if you timed the sex perfectly it still might not have taken, so don’t go thinking you did something wrong. Are there any other signs which might help you understand the approx timing of ov? My cycle is similar to yours, very slightly long sand a bit erratic, I found cervical mucus very useful because if things were fairly dry then we didn’t bother having sex because I assumed ov was nowhere near, we only started dtd every couple of days when things got a bit more wet, and both days when I had a little bit of ewcm.

@lemonsugar one of my only ‘symptoms’ this month was having what felt like the start of a cold - slightly sore throat and runny nose. There are loads of threads about how some people experienced this right before a bfp.

Fx! Xx

MuddyElephant · 03/09/2018 08:45

@Noodella18 massive congrats!

@veeboo sorry AF has arrived. My boobs aren't nearly as sore any more so think I'm out too 😣

Lemonsugar245 · 03/09/2018 08:54

@Noodella18 congratulations. This feels like a proper cold but who knows. My throat hurts and blocked nose. My head feels so muzzy but it’s way too early to test. Thank you though never know it might be pregnancy or I’ve copped a cold at the beginning of autumn 🤧

buntingandstarcharts · 03/09/2018 10:17

@Noodella18 yay congrats!! Can I ask how long you were trying and anything special you did this time around? Xx

veeboo · 03/09/2018 10:21

Congratulations @Noodella18!

em254 · 03/09/2018 10:32

Congratulations Noodella!

sending hugs to those who got AF! Look after yourself and treat yourself to something nice!

I haven’t done a second test yet but today at work I’ve got cramping and some very light bleeding when I wipe. Keeping my fingers crossed it’s only implantation bleeding and nothing else. I did get a little bleeding with my first at 6 weeks but not this early. Worrying this pregnancy is not meant to be 😢

Noodella18 · 03/09/2018 10:38

Thanks all!! :)

@lemonsugar - fingers crossed! I heard it's a very common thing because if you have a little fertilised eggy then your immune system dips to make sure you body doesn't reject it. So it's still a cold, just one that you probably wouldn't have got if your immune system had been 100%. My scratchy throat started at 5dpo and lasted 4 days, to be followed by fuzzy teeth which wouldn't get clean no matter how much I brushed!

@buntingandstarcharts we were incredibly lucky and it was only cycle 2!! Really REALLY didn't think it would be this quick, especially as I'm almost 35 and it's baby number 1 and lovely fiance has been pretty ill recently and on antibiotics and nasal steroids for about 5 months now (which I heard can make your sperm wonky) plus he spends a lot of time cycling in ridiculously tight lycra! The last few months I made us both take the pregnacare his and hers conception vitamins and I took coenzymeQ10. Also made sure we were eating well, lots of fruit and veg and also tried to limit inflammation by eating lots of nuts and turmeric and less meat, and I snuck a whole load of Maca powder into the cakes I baked! It's pretty grim on its own but you can't taste it in flavoured cakes, goes well with banana! From what I've read, it's important that men get enough zinc, so that's what I focused on.

In terms of what we did this cycle, I think we had sex every couple of days from when my cm got watery and then both days when I had a bit of ewcm (got a positive opk on the second day of ewcm). I think probably 4 times total over the week. Propped myself up on a pillow for 30 mins afterwards. Oh, and used tesco fertility gel too.

Ailsamolly · 03/09/2018 12:42

@Lemonsugar245 I'm feeling the same with stuffy nose and general run down feeling

And this morning eating my cereal I tasted my spoon aha. Now it may just be a dodgy spoon but I can't recall being able to taste the metal of one before. 7dpo.

Lemonsugar245 · 03/09/2018 12:45

@Ailsamolly when is your period due? It’s not developing into a full cold so far :(. So no idea what it is. I just thought it’s autumn so I’ve prob got a bug. My mouth tastes odd but not metallic but prob congestion. Is this your first time trying.

Lubilu28 · 03/09/2018 13:00

Hi ladies, So apparently according to my app,I’m 6 days away from af and I’m starting to have cramps!! I have no idea how many dpo I am as I had 4 days in smileys in my opks! I’m in between 7/10 dpo!! I haven’t had any symptoms and I just don’t feel like it’s my month 😔!!

My friend found out she was pregnant a couple of weeks ago and even tho I’m happy for her, I wish she would just stop rubbing it in my face lol

I absolutely hate the tww!!!

Congrats on all the BFPs, sorry to hear of those that have got af and good luck to everyone else getting ready to test!! I’m so tempted but I promised myself to wait until af due date!! 9th sept seems so far away x

Wishful30 · 03/09/2018 13:14

Well... I had a peak opk Saturday and Sunday and it's gone back to high today. Looks as tho I ovulated Sunday.
Managed to dtd Saturday night. That's it 🙄
DH is now on nights, so if I ovulate today it's very unlikely we will succeed this month.
I'm a bit annoyed, but such is the way of life.
If we went for the IUI it would have been Saturday morning, so the sperm would've been dead by Sunday anyway!

Taking cyclogest now for 2 weeks which is pleasant 🙄
Fingers crossed for some kind of miracle!

Who else is in the 2ww?

Chocolate89 · 03/09/2018 13:44

Congrats on all the bfps! Great to have some positive news! So sorry for anyone having a hard time with af, but a new cycle fresh start!❤
@lemonandsugar ive heard lots of people getting headcolds at the very start of pregnancy, fingers crossed🤞🏻🤞🏻

I'm c16 and day 5 of flashy smileys, took a boots opk there and it was a neg, and as neg as could be! I usually ovulate on cd14, and when i used the boots ones last month I had a line for a week that just got darker the day I o'd. No spike in temp or anything, so dunno if i missed it or o is just very late this month!

Just want to get into the ttw and have a rest from bd-ing😂

Ailsamolly · 03/09/2018 13:54

@Lemonsugar245 yeah this is my fist cycle. If I get a cold it's usually very mild so if it gets worse then that will be out of the ordinary for me. Due in a week. This whole 2ww doesn't half drag does it aha. Is this your first ? It's not so much a metal taste all the time. More I could taste my spoon. My cereal didn't taste right but that may be because I was thinking about it too much.

If I'm not this time then I'm assuming perhaps I'll calm down on the symptom spotting...I hope aha driving myself crazy

@Lubilu28 my friend has just found out the same. And I'm like you, as happy as I am for her I'm sad because I want it to be me so bad . It will be for us all tho :)

Lemonsugar245 · 03/09/2018 14:22

@Ailsamolly second cycle first kid hopefully. Last month I didn’t really have any symptoms. I’m just craving sugar today. But that’s probably the cold 😂. Fingers crossed for both of us!!

EssJayyCee · 03/09/2018 16:12

Hi!
I'm a newbie. Currently having first AF after stopping the pill in the middle of July. TTC later in the month! fingers crossed
Age: 26
TTC: #1
Cycle: 1 or 2.. unsure when you're counting from!

Good luck everyone!
Steph x

Lubilu28 · 03/09/2018 16:19

@Ailsamolly it’s awful!! I just want to lock myself indoors and wait till I’m finally pregnant to come out 😆!!

Cramps have gotten a little bit stronger, feeling more tired than usual and my nose feels stuffy/swollen 🤔! Told myself not to symptom spot but it’s just so hard not too lol! Xx

Ailsamolly · 03/09/2018 16:58

@Lubilu28 it is aha I'm wishing my days away so I can 're test. I have a couple of first responses which are burning a hole in my draw..

I seem to have had constant cramps now since about 4/5dpo. Feels like I could start my af any day even tho I'm a week away.

@Lemonsugar245 this cold has gotten worse as the day has gone. All in my head and back of my nose/throat ... lovely aha I haven't had any cravings. Every symptom I've had has been like pms symptoms apart from the metal tasting spoon, tasted like I had a mouth full of foil.

Fx for us all here xxxx

sbhf1987 · 03/09/2018 18:17

@EssJayyCee welcome! Lots of luck to you for this month ❤️

3 or 4 dpo here and after a lovely relaxing weekend and spa trip with lots of food and wine the TWW has kicked in and I’m bored of it already!! Turned 31 today and always hoped I would be pregnant before my 31st bday so just keep telling myself I have 9ish days to wait and find out if I am and feels like FOREVER away!

Thisimmortalcurl · 03/09/2018 18:25

Hi , tested this morning with a rapid result Negative , although I didn’t realise you are meant to test on the day a/f is due and I’m 12 dpo.
Cervix is high but there was some brown tinged cm.
Boobs are still a bit sore especially at the sides but all in all I think I’m prob out .
Feeling in such a bad mood
Anybody had experience of the rapid result tests , I just assumed when I picked it up it was the normal first response one.

charliedontsurf · 03/09/2018 20:42

@Thisimmortalcurl no experience of those unfortunately, your symptoms sound promising though. Fx for you!

@Noodella18 big congratulations to you! And good work with all your vitamins and DTD-ing!

@em254 sorry to hear about the bleeding, hope all is well. I had quite a bit of bleeding around 5 weeks with my DD and thankfully it turned out ok so hoping the same for you. I think some women are just prone to bleeding a bit during pregnancy, can you see GP if you're worried? Mine referred me to EPU for an early scan at around 6 weeks.

@veeboo sorry AF got you Flowers at least by turning up early you can now start your next cycle a little earlier and hopefully a BFP at the end of it. I've used the digital clear blue opks for last 2 months now, first month I had flashing smily for 3 days before static and this month went straight to static. If you get them off Amazon they're a little cheaper.

I'm having my usual testathon after promising myself I'd stop and wait until 6th! BFN snowy white FRER this morning but I picked up some £1 asda tests tonight and have a very confusing positive?! I thought FRER are supposed to be the most sensitive. I'm really hoping the cheapy isn't a false positive. Will test again tomorrow once I've decided which brand to pick next! Dread to think how much money I've wasted on tests this year Blush Will be a sleepless night wondering about this test tonight.

Too early for a September bus?
ImpatientMammy · 03/09/2018 21:38

Ooh @charliedontsurf I have everything crossed for you. If it's a true positive Please keep us updated as I'll be buying one if I'm lucky next week 🙈😂 x
