Too early for a September bus?

KinCat · 30/07/2018 08:36

I've (intentionally) missed out on an August BFP due to planned holidays but I'm crossing my fingers for a 7th September BFP/AF! Not sure if there's a September thread already?

Age: 27
TTC: No. 1
Cycle: 1

Getting my coil taken out this coming weekend and really hoping I'm one of the lucky ones whose cycle goes straight back to normal! I haven't had a period for years but have been tracking my bbt for the past month.

I just ordered the double pack FRER from amazon due to arrive tomorrow 8dpo so ready in time for testing from 9dpo 😬 I just can’t wait any longer. I am prepared for a BFN with testing that early but there is always that little glimmer of hope that I might get a squinter to obsess over!

Wishful30 · 29/08/2018 11:08

@buntingandstarcharts
Sorry to see you here too. It's a long process sadly.
I've been seeing a fertility specialist privately, so paying as you go means they pretty much do everything as they don't have to worry about spending the NHS money. And things move a lot faster!
IUI is Intra Uterine Insemination.
DH has been check and is all good.
I've had lots of blood tests, dye put into my uterus and tubes with X-rays. Many, many ultrasound scans... in so over the amount of people that have had their head between my legs and internal procedures of some description. It is rediculous, but by the time I do have a baby it's really going to be second nature 🤦🏻‍♀️

I'm taking tablets to help mature the follicles, but the new doctor tells me it makes the lining thinner. So wants me on injections next month. (I have no more money for next month)
I want to know why the previous doctor didn't even blink at the 5.3mm result when this one wants me over 7mm 🤨
Annoyed and fed up now really.
We have had a pretty shit year too, so I don't think that has helped much. And I need to loose weight too, 'that will help immensely' says the doc.
Tho I see all these overweight people (including my own sister with 3kids)
Much bigger than me pregnant and pushing prams 😞
It's such an brain f* and abs so time consuming with all the times and dates.

I've stopped charting. I'm poas because I have to.
After this one I'm going to take a break and re evaluate my options I think

buntingandstarcharts · 29/08/2018 11:45

@Wishful30 this sounds so so so stressful. You poor poor thing. The most frustrating thing is not actually being able to identify the issue that's preventing it. It sounds like you've had every test and investigative procedure under the sun 😭 What have the private doctors suggested doing next? I had the blood tests - Came back fine and then an internal scan and I had an enormous cyst inside the left ovary, this had been preventing ovulation every other month. So my 11 months of trying actually equates to only 5! Anyway, an operation later and I'm back trying again. It's emotionally hard work. Did you say how long you'd been trying for? I'm worried because I'm a bit chunky (but happy and fit), and maybe that's preventing pregnancy. But can being overweight stop pregnancy if you have regular periods and normal hormone levels etc? Very interested in this. Thanks for all your knowledge and lots of hugs ❤️❤️❤️

GreatestShowWoman · 29/08/2018 13:54

Day 27 of 27 or 28 day cycle and still bfn yesterday but still awful afternoon nausea same as with my dd and (tmi) but lots of creamy white discharge down below never seen since last pregnancy!

ImpatientMammy · 29/08/2018 14:11

@buntingandstarcharts I'm a carer so I'm afraid I have no advice as I work in respiratory. I hope you get your BFP soon, anything's worth a try.
@Wishful30 I'm sorry your going through so much will the nhs not attempt to take over where your private drs left off or would you need to go through the whole process again? Sending love and baby dust x

Wishful30 · 29/08/2018 14:24

@ImpatientMammy
NHS don't fund IUI full stop 🤦🏻‍♀️ only IVF which is possibly the next step.

@buntingandstarcharts
We've been going for 14 months now. 😞
This new lady I saw is actually suggesting another few IUI cycles as she thinks I'm very young for ivf, especially with unexplained infertility. She wants to switch up my meds and seemed pretty confident about it all.
It's just magic-ing another 3k ish out of thin air that's the issue.
They are 1k per cycle not including meds. But do 3 cycles for 2k and then scans are £150 a pop, which you have to have done to check the follicles.

I'll be glad when I'm on holiday. Af or not 🙄

Dwellington · 29/08/2018 14:38

@buntingandstarcharts I tried a month or two of using my mooncup after sex, didn’t make a difference as far as I’m concerned as still not upduffed! And apparently most of what ‘falls out’ After sex is mainly seminal fluid so doesn’t matter. However it is much more pleasant if you’re squeezing in sex on demand when TTC, to be able to get up and go to work or the supermarket without the dreaded leak minutes or hours later 😂🙈

I’m feeling pretty miserable today at CD6 as generally around now/a week before I’m due on I get a huge drop in mood, spend a day feeling really mopey and rage at the slightest thing. This feels like that and if true to form, tender boobs will start to ease off over the next few days and then I’ll know I’m out as per 😔

inkworks273 · 29/08/2018 16:23

Hi everyone. We literally just started trying a few days ago so thought I'd join.

31
TTC #1
Cycle: 1

We get married on Saturday (Eeek!) but my ovulation window fell this week so we thought why not get things started?

buntingandstarcharts · 29/08/2018 16:35

@Dwellington thanks so much for the info. Are they hard to put in? I think I will give it a go. Can't hurt can it? I'm sorry you're feeling down😥 it's so depressing isn't it. I get the same pre AF symptoms xxxx

Dwellington · 29/08/2018 17:23

@buntingandstarcharts no they’re pretty easy, I use one anyway for AF when I moved away from tampons, find it much better and once you’ve got the knack of putting it in it’s no more difficult really.

Feeling a bit brighter this afternoon after acupuncture, first time I’ve felt really relaxed at a session and nearly fell asleep. Although feeling wiped out now with a headache, lying on sofa and DD 2y9m came over unprompted, rubbed my head and gave me a cuddle 😍

@inkworks273 good luck for your wedding, and hopefully the post wedding buzz will distract you from obsessive TWW symptom spotting!

ImpatientMammy · 29/08/2018 18:21

Awww @Wishful30 I hope it just happens this cycle or next and you get a lovely shock.

How many days do you guys dtd for after a posative OPK or do you just keep going until the EWCM stops? So far my Other half has left to work away just before my posative OPK so I've never had to think about it till this cycle x

veeboo · 29/08/2018 18:23

@em254 step away from the frer!...can you try and wait a bit longer together? If I don't get the usual pain I might test on Tuesday.

Bloodylegoeverywhere · 29/08/2018 18:54

Can i join you all please!?
40 (only just)
Cycle 2 (started today)
Trying for number 3 😊

sbhf1987 · 29/08/2018 19:46

@ImpatientMammy this is only my 2nd official cycle and we’ve used OPKs both months. We are going to DTD every night this week, flashing ‘high’ smiley started Monday CD11, hoping my fixed ‘peak’ will be here no later than Friday which will be CD15 again. Last month we DTD CD10,12,13,14&16. I had a ‘high’ flashing smiley days 10-14 with a peak on day 15, my DH got drunk and fell asleep on day15 first day of peak last month I wanted to kill him!

Queenofmyownheart · 29/08/2018 19:50

Hi all!

Thought I’d join a bit late!

Cycle 2

Didn’t have any issues getting pregnant with my first 2 but seem to be struggling this time round!

Due AF Friday, took two cheapie tests earlier this week when the wait got too much, both BFN. So thinking I’ve probably missed the boat this month. Never know though fingers crossed 😀

Newbie21 · 29/08/2018 20:26

@ImpatientMammy this was my first month using opks really so from the date of the static smiley we dtd up to and including 4th day which if I assume I ovulated 48hours after the static smiley (max poss time) then it would have been only 1 day after O. I probably could have done another day but DH had to work late.

Newbie21 · 29/08/2018 20:32

@em254 lol. I don't know how you can handle the possible unnecessary upset of a BFN but I guess it's the potential upside. I have a stack of various tests in the bathroom cabinet, I might check them out to see the various strengths - just for my information obviously. But I am really going to try and hold out until the 6th.

I feel a little bloated today and boobs feel swollen but not sore. Hopefully AF isn't going to appear early. I usually get a bit of bloating a couple of days before AF. Hmm

Bubblemumma1 · 29/08/2018 21:19

I’m wondering what OPKs some of you are using?
I’m using the Amazon cheapies and wondering how accurate they are. I used them before TTC my DD a few years ago and I remember the test line became progressively darker each day until my positive OPK. I’m on CD12 and it looks no different to yesterday’s, both very very faint Confused

Thisimmortalcurl · 29/08/2018 21:20

Welcome Queen and Bloody.
Not much to update apart from I have had a really sore right thigh which I always get before my period ... although only usually the day before and I have at least 5 days to go I think .
It’s an AF symptom that I never had until about two years ago so I don’t know if it’s a sign of anything .
Feeling a bit nuts!

ImpatientMammy · 29/08/2018 21:26

Thank you @Newbie21 and @sbhf1987 so
If ovulation can be a max of 2 days later then I think the egg can last 24 hours I might try for one more for luck tomorrow 🤞 got a feeling despite late ovulation af is going to show up on time on Sunday though.
Good luck this month everyone. Anyone testing soon? X

sbhf1987 · 29/08/2018 21:40

@ImpatientMammy I read that the time between ovulation & AF is the same every month. The time between your period ending and ovulation changes. Have you used OPKs before? I used them for the first time last month and it was 13 days from ovulation to my period, so could change by 1 day either way some months but generally is meant to be the same every cycle. X

Newbie21 · 29/08/2018 21:44

@sbhf1987 yes I think you are right. I read that too.

ronniemipperton · 29/08/2018 21:50

Tentatively hopping on if that’s OK. 33, TTC #1, first cycle after MMC in July at 10 weeks. Before that it’d taken nearly three years to work out why I wasn’t ovulating (hypothalamic amenorrhea) so not sure how regular my cycle will be this month, but I’m temping and keeping my fingers crossed. Only on CD6 though. FX for all those testing imminently.

ImpatientMammy · 29/08/2018 22:17

@sbhf1987 I've been using OPKs on and off since November and my leutal phase is steady normally but I've never ovulated this late and my heart rates showing signs of AF coming. It might be cause I'm on night shifts though which I tend to do at this time of the month so maybe I'm just confusing symptoms or being paranoid. Anyway I've done everything I could have done so I just need to chill out (not gunna happen 😂) x

ImpatientMammy · 29/08/2018 22:18

Sorry to hear of your loss @ronniemipperton fingers crossed for this cycle for you x
