Too early for a September bus?

KinCat · 30/07/2018 08:36

I've (intentionally) missed out on an August BFP due to planned holidays but I'm crossing my fingers for a 7th September BFP/AF! Not sure if there's a September thread already?

Age: 27
TTC: No. 1
Cycle: 1

Getting my coil taken out this coming weekend and really hoping I'm one of the lucky ones whose cycle goes straight back to normal! I haven't had a period for years but have been tracking my bbt for the past month.

@Jxtina86 I used mine twice a day - morning and midday. And I've always caught the darkest line midday but for some people it's fine in the morning, which is why I do it twice. I would've missed it this month if I only did morning testing.

Jxtina86 · 28/08/2018 18:04

@KatBeCool thanks for the tip! Midday would be tricky for me as at work and barely have time to ecen remember to pee some days let alone test too lol. Will have a go next month and see what's what. DH is not complaining about DTD though- think he'd quite happily just do that and forget about all the tracking and testing for ovulation!

Newbie21 · 28/08/2018 19:46

Good luck for those about to test!

I'm only 6dpo so not a lot to report. Experiencing a slightly odd fluttery feeling in my lower abdomen today but I'm clearly manically symptom spotting. I keep pushing my arms against my boobs to check if they are sore... and now I'm not sure if they genuinely are sore or whether the pushing with my arms has made them sore. Why does the TTC journey turn us into to crazy ladies?!? Oh well, I'm going to stay positive and hope these are super early signs. I'm not going to test until AF is late (unless a crumble before, haha) so next Thursday is THE day!

Wishful30 · 28/08/2018 19:57

Tentatively joining this bus. I'm a regular 😐
Cd9. I'm on my third IUI cycle.
Saw a new doc today who suggested waiting and re scanning Friday as she's decided my uterus lining should be above 7, and it's 6.3
I've been put forward for 2 IUI cycles with a 5.3. I don't know whether to be angry that I shouldn't have been sent that early, or hopeful that maybe at least this time something may be different.
This doctor has confidently told me that 35 is very young for IVF and would like me to to consider further IUI with different medications should this one not work.

Just a shame I don't have another 3k 😑
There is no real medical reason I can't get pregnant naturally.

So I came home to a frustrated husband, who I couldn't give all the answers to, and then had a good old cry 😢

All you ladies still on here, I send you strength and positive thoughts.
I didn't realise this getting pregnant lark was actually going to be this complicated and stressful and put such a strain on me.
So many people around me pregnant, with babies... and im somehow broken 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

sbhf1987 · 28/08/2018 20:13

@Wishful30 sending you a huge huge hug! I can’t even begin to understand how you’re feeling as I’m only on C2 myself but I felt your sadness reading your post and I just wanted to say how strong you are and it’s completely acceptable to cry and even lose your sh1t if you want to. When it finally happens for you you’ll love that baby a million times more because it’ll be extra special after all the bumps in the road. Sending lots of love xx

Shazafied · 28/08/2018 20:18

Oh @Wishful30 that sounds very stressful and complicated , feel free to vent... I'm sorry you're having such a hard time of it. Are you having IUI because of undiagnosed infertility ? I fell pregnant with DD1 3.5 years after we started trying, we had been told we have "undiagnosed infertility" and were about to start our first cycle of ivf. I had literally given up on trying to conceive naturally, it got me so down and everyone around me seems to get pregnant at the drop of a hat! It's so hard ... you don't have to be strong about it , it's ok to have a good ball. Sending you ThanksThanksThanks

veeboo · 28/08/2018 20:18

@Wishful30 keep the faith. Your gp sounds optimistic. Be kind to yourself this week x

@Newbie21 I am sticking with you..not testing until late which is 6th Sept for me and handily I have a go appointment for the 7th so can discuss with him either way.

em254 · 28/08/2018 20:40

Sending you a huge hug @wishful30 we are all here for you. x

em254 · 28/08/2018 20:45

Veeboo, Newbie21 I’m currently 5/6DPO too and having absolutely no symptoms. I’m willing them but nadda! I’m starting to think that no symptoms is a symptom 😂😂

Newbie21 · 28/08/2018 21:09

@em254 I actually think you are right. I didn't have any symptoms when I've been pregnant before so I have no idea why I'm so obsessed with finding symptoms now lol 😂

veeboo · 28/08/2018 21:14

@em254 absolutely no symptoms here either. I usually get terrible cramps 3 days before AF so I think I'll know by Monday if I am out. Fx for us

Thisimmortalcurl · 28/08/2018 21:16

I’m due af on the 5 th . Having twinges today on the right hand side of my stomach . I’ve no real clue about the cervix thing but it’s high and very soft .
These could all be me totally tricking myself though especially as I spent the day with 4 week old twins ... I def would not want twin ! As gorgeous as they are very very hard work in the early days .
Veboo and everyone else due about the same I’m also going to try not to test too early but I dunno how I will feel about that next week!
It’s my wedding anniversary a a week on sat so that would be nice ... but unlikely to wait ! X

Newbie21 · 28/08/2018 21:36

It's going to be a busy week next week!!! Let's hope it's BFPs all round!

charliedontsurf · 28/08/2018 22:17

Fx for all of us. No symptoms here this month and definitely no early testing for me, not after doing 6 (yep 6) frers last month Blush and a pack of Tesco ones too where I had evaps on both. I will be testing on 6th which also happens to be my 5 year wedding anniversary. I don't have high hopes for this month, feel a bit glum about it!

@Wishful30 I'm so sorry to hear that, stay strong. You are not broken! You'll get there x

Newbie21 · 28/08/2018 23:11

@Wishful30 TTC journey can be so hard and is such a rollercoaster ride of emotions. Fx for you. You are not broken at all. It's hard when it feels like everyone you know and women everywhere you look are pregnant!!

buntingandstarcharts · 29/08/2018 00:54

Hello ladies... good luck to all StarStarStar I was wondering whether anyone has ever heard of using a menstrual cup (like a moon cup or soft cup) to catch the sperm next to the cervix after DTD? I saw that this was 'a thing' on another TTC forum. I know it probably sounds far fetched but I'm willing to try anything! Part of me wonders whether the plastic they're made from might harm the sperm more than help them! What are your thoughts? X

ImpatientMammy · 29/08/2018 02:44

@buntingandstarcharts I have heard of it didn't even think of it possibly acting as a spermaside. I've heard that any sperm that doesn't make it before you stand up (which is apparently just the slowest 10%) doesn't stand much chance at all of making it to the egg anyway. On the other hand I learnt all this through google on a night shift so possibly not the most reputable source 😂🙈 x

Wishful30 · 29/08/2018 07:28

Good morning ladies,

Thankyou all so much for the support. This group is always good for that.
DH feels bad and is supportive, but no one truely understands how difficult it can be unless you're actually going through it.

Good luck everyone in the 2ww and testing soon x

dragonmummy17 · 29/08/2018 08:30

@wishful30 sorry it's been so tough for you... sending positive thoughts back your way. Sometimes a good cry can help and we are always here for you to vent!!

sbhf1987 · 29/08/2018 09:30

Ladies can I ask how often you DTD? Only my second month using OPKs. I O’d CD16 last month. Currently CD13 and DTD CD11&12. Planning on just doing it every night this week? Currently on day 3 of my flashing smiley but had 5 last month before my peak so hoping I O a day earlier this month like Fri so we can have a rest next week lol. I’ve read mixed things about every night or every other. My Glow app congratulated me for DTD 2 nights in a row then said to do it every other day? Only our second cycle so no assumed issues with DH sperm? X

stormtrooperjulian · 29/08/2018 10:19

@sbhf1987 I got a +ve OPK on CD15, O’d on CD16. We dtd CD8, 11, 13, 15, 16, 17

We were aiming for every two days ish until I knew when I was ovulating (had my implant out in July so wasn’t sure when my cycle would kick in properly again)

buntingandstarcharts · 29/08/2018 10:42

@ImpatientMammy I'm on cycle 11 so I'm getting pretty desperate! To be honest, forcing a plastic plug up there after sex is pretty repulsive (and as far from sexy as you get!) I thought it might be more helpful than legs in the air for half an hour which gets pretty impractical. Are you a nurse (you mentioned night shifts), if so, any tips? Xxx

buntingandstarcharts · 29/08/2018 10:43

Also - that's very interesting about only the slowest 10% not making it. That's pretty low, I feel better about that!

buntingandstarcharts · 29/08/2018 10:47

@Wishful30 I recognise you from the monthly 'buses' we've both been on (for months!). I'm so sorry you've had I tough, what is IUI? It may sound silly but have you had all the blood tests, and sperm checked? It's so so shitty when you get your hopes up every month and have them dashed again. Also, push for more than one cycle of blood tests aka not just a one off check for ovulation. It will show if both ovaries are working properly. You've probably done all of this. I'm just in this stage now. You need hugs x

em254 · 29/08/2018 10:47

This month we DTD cd 15,16 & 17. I got my positive OPK CD16. We would have normally started earlier but OH was away with work
