implantation bleeds and stuff

You do know me, it's just that I don't feel ready to talk about any pg issues openly yet - this soon after my mc I feel uncharacteristically reticent!

Since my last period we suddenly got broody, after having said we'd wait some time. So we did the tests, worked out my dates and did the deed last Saturday.

Now, I am not sure exactly when my last period started, but I would expect my next one to be 14 days after ovulation - surely whatever the length of your cycle, it is always 14 days after ovulation? So a bit of bleeding (stringy brown bits) yesterday - is that an implantation bleed? Is an implantation bleed usually accompanied by lower back period type pains? Or is all this in my head?

It isn confusing, isn't it. Because then you start beating yourself up over imagining things. I have even in the past blamed the fact that I have imagined symptoms as the reason why I failed to conceive that month! What do I mean "in the past?" I am doing it right now! I have become convinced that I am pg, and I know that when my period comes I will tell myself off and say that the reason why I am not pg is because I thought I was. Hmmm, and I claim not to believe in superstition!

I have no symptoms apart from the normal period ones Previous symptoms were:

DS: spotting, crying, couldn't wear contact lenses, tiredness

MC: tiredness, crashing car, tiredness, thirst

Can't say I have any of them right now (maybe if I dug out my old contact lenses ...)

I am really enjoying guessing at who people are and chatting on this thread - takes my mind off things a bit!

Anyway, I think I might cheat and test tomorrow morning instead of Saturday. Here are my (feeble) justifications:

  1. we are going to a wedding tomorrow, by train. Therefore I should check whether I can drink or not.

  2. I like to use a very popular maternity hospital which I'm out of area for - and you need to book in by 6 wks or you don't get in. So I'm better off ringing to get a GP appt. tomorrow - sometimes you have to wait a week for one.

Aren't they excellent excuses? (obviously I mean reasons, not excuses)

Ahhh contact lenses thanks for reminding me Ssshhh. I had just started wearing them when i got pregnant with Ds and found them very irritataing.
I'll have to go find them later and try them out.

Never in this world will I be able to wait unbtil the 28th to test. Is it the first response one that can tell about 3 days before ??
If it is I will get one of those and test on thursday. OMG thats a week today

twolongtwoweeks · 19/08/2004 17:49

im not sure if implantation does cause any pain, it was just a thought really Nutcracker so dont take my word on it. Maybe some other wise old mumsnetter will know.

Sshh give us a clue, go on!!!

nutcracker · 19/08/2004 22:00

My sickness keeps coming and going, it's driving me mad now.

I still have the pain in my side and it has gotten a little worse. It does seem very similar to ov pain but I am a bit worried that it could be ectopic pregnancy too.

hugs nutty, I hope you're feeling a bit better, and not too many loo trips in the night!

nutcracker: Sorry that you are feeling so unwell... It could be a good sign but the pain in the side is worrying. I did wonder about ectopic as well (like all you need is another person who is paranoid about your health). Why are you waiting until the 28th to test? Please forgive me if it is obvious and I have just missed the reason.

TLTW Your description of the sickness you experience could have been written by me! I was sure that the dairylee cheese thing was unique to me. I would not normally want to eat it but when I am pg I long to have everything that seems unhealthy or slightly against the 'rules'. I never drink coffee and I only rarely drink red wine but I know that the minute these things hold a strong appeal that I must have fallen again--odd.

ssshhh No more spotting? When are you going to test? How was your day?

Scaredstupid · 20/08/2004 10:29

Hope you all slept well. Were you up in the night nutcracker?
Is anyone else feeling sick this morning?

ssshhh · 20/08/2004 10:34

How are you scaredstupid? Have you been sick?

nutcracker - how was your night? How are the pains in your side?

I'm still spotting this morning. Feel a bit scared, like I'm in a lose-lose situation. Either I test and it's negative, or it's positive in which case I then get scared about either another mc or having to go through the whole baby stage again - this time with added toddler obstacles! It just seems like a big world!

ssshhh I so hear you! I am paranoid about being pg as it will likely mean a m/c but upset to think that I may never get pg again... SO confusing. I think that it is pointless to compare my situation to others as there is no connection between them but it is hard when everyone around me thinks that I am a freak for worrying about things that they just take for granted. (like when you get pg, nine months later you deliver a healthy baby)

Wish I could be more helpful. Hope it is bfp when you do test in which case we will all be here to help you cope with the fear of another m/c but if it is bfn then I offer a virtual-shoulder to cry on until next month when it all starts again.

Scaredstupid · 20/08/2004 12:43

nutcracker: How are you? Are you still experiencing pain in your side? Still sick? Weeing all night?

Scaredstupid · 20/08/2004 12:45

TLTW are you out there? How are you today? Feeling like enjoying some dairylee cheese? Please tell all.

twolongtwoweeks · 20/08/2004 13:08

I dont have any symptoms really apart from getting up in the night to go to the loo. So im fine but really intrigued at all your symptoms. Makes me think i havnt fallen this month at all.

8 days to go

Scaredstupid · 20/08/2004 13:12

TLTW: I didn't know that you were up for the loo in the night as well. That sounds promising. Only happened to me in one of my pg. My uterus is very tipped back so doesn't push on my bladder.
Can't wait for the 28th to hear the results of your test.

twolongtwoweeks · 20/08/2004 13:21

I do usually get up once in the night anyway so thats not unusual but 3 times is. I dont usually get any obvious symptoms till im actually a few days late, and then the smell thing really kicks in.

When are you due on again??? I could read through the thread again but im lazy

Scaredstupid · 20/08/2004 13:39

Am not 100% certain when AF is arriving as I have only had one cycle since m/c but I am worried because of spotting (more like pink-tinged cm followed by spotting) and careless bd.
My best estimation is that I should be due around the 26th (if all is right in my world)

Scaredstupid · 20/08/2004 13:41

Oops! Meant to ask when you are expecting AF? (Before or after the 28th?)

twolongtwoweeks · 20/08/2004 13:54

28th. Im going to order some of the cheaper tests of the net as the chemists charge a fortune andi know ill have to test before my due date as i have np patience

twolongtwoweeks · 20/08/2004 14:01

Nutty can you do the link for me again as im not sure which conception thread its on. Ta in advance sweetie. Hope your ok, have you been to docs and had that pain looked at. It could be appendix, one sided pain and all that.

nutcracker · 20/08/2004 15:27

Here it is TLTW

Thanks to all who were comcerned about me. The pain in my side had gone when i woke today. I still feel knackered and queasy though. Oh and i didn't have to get up for the loo in the night

Thanx nutty i have ordered the three pack for £1.99 what a bargin. Glad your feeling better. Im off out tonight so it will be interesting to see if the cigarette smoke makes me heave.

nutcracker · 20/08/2004 16:02

No prob TLTW

I might order some too.
Enjoy your night out .

twolongtwoweeks · 21/08/2004 11:52

Oh god, this morning at about 10.30 for no reason at all i got a wave of nausea.

Prob more to do with getting in at 3am rather than pregnancy me thinks

nutcracker · 21/08/2004 21:52

Ooooooh good TLTW am sooooo excited for you

My sickness had completely gone today and i felt pretty normal.
I am aslo getting period type backache, but that could mean anything as I had that with Dd2 and Ds, was convinced my af was arriving and so took really strong painkillers, and spent the rest of the pregnancy worrying.

I am a bit calmer about it all today too. If I am pregnant then so be it, I will be a mom of 4 and deal with it.
If i'm not then I am going to return to college as planned and put any ideas of babies on the back burner.

Will keep my fingers crossed for you TLTW
